Re: Arven's Crew

In the factory district, the sewers smell more like toxic chemical waste than the normal mix of humanoid shit and piss one would expect. There are no rats or other vermin here, except for some green glowing fungus on the walls where stains indicate the water level was previously higher. The muck and sludge is now only a few inches deep in the bottom of the cylindrical tunnel. The brothers move quickly down the tunnel, navigating by instinct without any real map or plan. They try to keep moving westward in the hopes of making it to the rendezvous.
They walk for hours, soon making it into a main tunnel with walkways along the sides. Their travels are not without incident however as they run across a colony of goblins who have made their home here, under the city. The Goblins are vicious, forcing the brothers to flee in another direction through countless winding tunnels and for hours on end. They escape by collapsing several junctions and eventually finding daylight on the outskirts of the city in a small bog filled with the city's waste. From there, they march westward cross country to find the rendezvous. They arrive at about seven o'clock in the evening, about 18 hours after everyone split up.
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/QjGEh.jpg"align="left">Garina Teufelhunden
Garina was flying over two long buildings with a narrow alley between them, only a few hundred meters from her departure when she is spotted by one of the squads moving to surround the group. Her armour is pelted by energy bolts as several more miss her entirely before she is beyond the gap and out of sight from that squad for the moment. She lands in a courtyard between two other buildings before continuing her jet-propelled leaps and cresting another building. A few more jumps and it feels like she is putting some real distance between herself and the pursuers when she is hit from behind on her left calf. She looks down to see some kind of organic mass like a starfish clasping around her leg. It is dripping with a clear gel-like substance and undulates with life. Garina looks back to see a tall, lanky creature which is confusing to look at. It appears to be composed of a collection of other creatures as one arm is replaced with a tentacle, the legs are overly-long and look more like those of an ostrich, the head is oversized and shaped like a potatoe. The entire body is covered in some kind of bio-armour. Whatever this thing is, it is moving fast and even if Garina could defeat it, stopping to fight would only result in getting surrounded by the rest of the enemy.
Garina is forced to continue running for the moment and although this mutated freak chasing her is incredibly fast, it doesn't seem to be able to leap over buildings with quite the same finesse. With some cunning maneuvers, Garina is able to outrun the creature and put it behind her. A few minutes later, when it is safe, she stops to remove the starfish-thing still stuck to her leg. It peels off leaving a slimy residue but there appears to be no damage. Garina proceeds to make her way to the rendezvous point and arrives fairly early - around eleven in the morning.
Thanatos and Troy
Thanatos hops on his own hovercycle and follows Troy for a few hundred meters before breaking off down another street. When spotted, both of the enhanced-humans are pursued by members of the Tolkeen Forces on their own hovercycles. With each high-speed turn, the distance between the pursuers and the pursued grows as the humans are just a fraction of a second slower than the juicer and the mutant. The two separate chases wind their way through narrow streets, hopping over low buildings with the hover jets, and dodging traffic on one of the main roads of the city. After several minutes, and a dozen or so kilometers of harrowing hairpin turns and near-misses, the Tolkeen forces must call off the pursuit and begin trying to alert the guards at all the gates.
Both men are on their own but find a similar exit from Tolkeen as their hovercycles are able to leap clear over the walls, midway between the checkpoints, long before the sun came up. Separately, they are able to make good their escapes, avoiding a patrol or two on the main roads, and reach the rendezvous point shortly after Garina - about eleven-thirty in the morning.
The Madness
Half tempted to explore the other side of the portal, The Madness finds the hair on the back of his neck standing on end when he stares through the gateway into the other dimension full of gigantic trees. Something is there, staring back at him. He can feel its presence across the threshold, and it is coming closer, preparing to step through. Despite pilotting one of the most powerful power armour suits in the region, The Madness knows it is not built for high speed pursuits through an urban setting, nor is it meant to make a stand against dozens of infantry in close quarters. Running out of options, he spots a half-open garage door in a nearby building. He is able to close the distance and skid under the door before being spotted. Once inside, The Madness closes himself off from the world. He recedes into his mind, shutting down all that would expose him to his hunters. He conceals his aura, his energy, and he even removes any thoughts of himself from the minds of anyone in the area. If he is able to concentrate fully, he can ensure that no one even notices he is here [psionic invisibility].
About two minutes later, shouts can be heard from the street and then gunfire. A high pitched wail that hurts Madness' ears even from his hiding place echoes through the area. Then all hell breaks loose as what sounds like an enormous battle erupts in the street between what sounds like the Tolkeen forces and something else. Even though he can't see it, Madness knows that whatever he sensed beyond the portal has just stepped through.
The battle carries on and seems to be moving away. Whatever it is that entered the earth through the portal is heading for the populated area of the city, but it is also leading the troops away from The Madness. After several minutes, whatever it is they are fighting, it has lead them a few blocks away. Madness is able to simply stroll out from hiding and casually make his way to the rendezvous point. He can make it as early as twelve noon, if he likes.

Arven's method of escape is nearly flawless. He is well outside the range of most 'see invisible' abilities at a thousand feet in the air. Even his large size moves silently when propelled by the magic flight of his talisman. He is able to sail calmly through the cool night air away from harm. He can see Troy and Thanatos speeding away on their hovercycles, with the Tolkeen militia in hot pursuit. He can also see Garina jet-leaping building by building, with some strange creature chasing after her. He can see she is faster though. Caramon and Dalamar are no where to be seen, but Arven spots the Madness taking cover in a nearby building.
Then he looks back at the still-glowing portal, now a few thousand feet away on the ground. He is able to make out some massive form moving down the street, under fire from the Tolkeen forces. It is dragging the group's ATV behind it like a toy truck in the clutches of a child. Even with Arven's sharp eyes, from this distance it is difficult to make out any details except that whatever stepped out from Dalamar's rift is like some building-sized snail, lurching forward with waving tentacles around its body. It seems to be oblivious to the attacks against it and just moves toward the city-center. It emits a high-pitched shriek and starts spewing forth some kind of liquid mass at the troops surrounding it. The battle continues as the monstrous thing makes its way into the city. Arven can't recall ever seeing anything like it in his day, but determines it would be best to continue his escape.
Arven should make it to the rendezvous point by a little after twelve noon.
