Re: Arven's Crew
The squad moved south for several minutes until the large cloud of black smoke can be seen in the horizon, identifying the crash site. Lieutenant Pukt changed course slightly to accommodate, and blasted toward the conflict. A crashed Coalition Death's Head Transport can be seen, flaming, and bellowing out a massive cloud of thick smoke as the squad draws closer, and soon the sounds of gunfire and explosions can be heard.
At approximately two miles from the crash site, the squad stumbles across some sort of hideous ritual sacrificial site. Nearly concealed in a sunken area of ground, near a few hills is a demon mage of some kind. There is a pile of human skin, skinned from bodies in one piece to one side of the small arrangement; there must be the flesh of dozens. The skinned corpses have been impaled on spears, forming a circular perimeter around a large boulder, where a demonic mage of some diabolical sort stands covering himself in the entrails of the recently killed. The rain washes it down his chest like a thick paste. There are also three or four small Lasae demons spotted climbing in and out of the flesh pile, but stop and hide as the group suddenly appears. There is a young girl strapped to the boulder, and her arm has already been severed, and lays in the dirt beside them.
A large, black sword, sticking out of the ground, covered in mystical runic markings rests unattended next to a small campfire, smoking from a recent cooking fire.
The demonic mage has white skin, horns and what looks like a leathery exoskeleton. He is no more than 8 feet tall, and is wearing a bulky black robe, with the hood up. He is completely nude, and exposed as his robe hangs open. Standing up straight in surprise as the Tolkeen military squad shows up, he conceals one hand behind his back, and rests the other at his side.
He stands and watches, waiting for a reaction... There is no sign of any sort of military rank, or allegiance to any faction...
Pukt slows his hovercycle, and then completely stops about 60 feet away from the edge of the circle of bodies (which is composed of 50 bodies, 25 feet across.
