Troys' head starts to spin, and he staggers a bit. He struggles to focus his vision, but still manages to reply to James. "I'm a soulless, murderous son of a bitch too... bitch too... bitch too.... bitchtooo... bichooo... booooooooo"

Troy zones out staring at his own lips form the words.

Thanatos watches the wolfen carefully, they were fearsome warriors on his home planet, likely more powerful here even. "No one spoke out of turn, he asked a question. Reasonable, if a bit blunt. But simply a question."

The wolfen makes eye contact with Thanatos for a few moments, considering both the man and his words.

He then ducks his head in a subtle courteous nod, accepting his point without comment.

Arven waves off Troys offer of drugs and guffaws at the conversation. He has to cough to stop from breaking into a laughing fit then he just shrugs non-commitally. "Well shit yeah fuzzball they are obviously powerful otherwise they'd be dead. I don't rightly know whats got up his ass but yeah I'd like to see that myself. I figure Lotus would either take it as a great complement or decapitate the motherfucker. Prolly depends on her mood at the time and she is a woman after all so who the fuck knows whats goin on in their head. Still she is more sensible then most females ive ran with."

The dark, ragged-looking wolf creature nods absently at Lucifer Sam's comment, and mutters, "Of that I have no doubt."
Meanwhile, his eyes scan the compound again, this time focusing on the structures and tents, trying to establish the layout of the base's facilities, particular the location of a command center.

Re: Arven's Crew

The orcish lieutenant approaches the group, obviously looking to speak with at least one of them. "Sam? Lucifer Sam right? Turns out 3rd platoon is pinned down and about to get hit. They are calling for reinforcements, but no air units are permitted to leave the base, and my team are either sleeping or engaged already. I need you boys to suit up and come with me to assist them. How long 'till you can be ready?"

Lieutenant Pukt stares up at Solstice for several seconds. "You there, mercenary Knight? Have you been acquired yet? I could definitely use you on my platoon if you're interested?"

He rumages around in his pocket and tosses the wolfen a cred-stick . "I'll ensure you see that amount each day. What do I call you?"

Noticing Troy acting heavily intoxicated, he asks of Lucifer Sam "What is wrong with your juicer?"

Solstice sniffs at the orc momentarily, accepting the credits and rumbling, "I am called Solstice. The price is agreed, and you have acquired my services."

The wolfen reaches back and unlatches a jagged-toothed monster skull from under the shield on his back. He raises it up and straps it on his head, giving him a truly demonic appearance. "I am ready now."

"We're all fuckin ready now... Lets get movin! ". Sam says  then looks over at Troy. What's wrong with my Juicer? What kinda fuckin question is that shit-fer-brains? He's a goddamn Juicer ain't he? Troy it's time to kill some sonsabitches so pull her head out." Arven looks at everyone in his crew in turn giving them a nod. As they walk off after the Orc he pulls level with the Wolfen and speaks in a low conspiratorial tone. "As long as Lotus is alright with ya then I will pay ya double what that pig faced cock-gobbler is. No need to share that with him of course. Take the money and run!" the last part he announces loudly and with gusto.

Garina just stands idly by the side as ‘Lucifer’ and the Wolfen speak. She picks up a few words being spoken but not enough to really know what is transpiring, other than Lucifer trying to increase the number of henchmen he commands.

When she gets ready to move out and apparently either didn’t understand or heard the order regarding flying units. As such she tests out the thrusters of her Wild Weasal SAMAS, and hovers several feet in the air.

As everyone runs to the mission at hand James can't help but ask him self the obvious question.

Hit by what?

If it was CS forces he wasn't too eager to fight them.  Nonetheless he followed along.  Hopefully at some point their treacherous low-life boss would double cross all these mages and Thornton would be able to cut a swatch through the Tolkeen army from the inside out.

He smiles at the thought.

Re: Arven's Crew

Lieutenant Pukt mounts his hovercycle, and awaits the squad to signal they are all ready before leading the way around Juyong Outpost and south, toward the location of the crash site, and third platoon.

Sergeant Tyirrak, (the battle-hardened Lanotaur), Vashti The Bold (Jeridu swordsman), Sir Grimathor (Minotaur cyber knight), Jamukha (a white-wolfen mage), and Calliandra O'Hare (Psi-Tech and RPA ace) are the only Tolkeenites along for the ride with Arvens' crew of lowlife misfits.

Tyirrak has his own hovercycle, as does Jamukha. Calliandra has her own NG giant robot. The cyber knight as a giant robot horse, and Vashti is riding some jet-black demonic horse...

The rain does not let up, and within seconds everyone is soaked and covered in mud again. Tyirrak leads the way as he always does, and Calliandra brings up the rear. Jamukha and Pukt are just 50 feet behind Tyirrak in the formation on route to third platoon. Vashti and Grimathor are spread out 100 feet to either side, covering the flanks.

Re: Arven's Crew

Sitting inside the Trailblazer the permanent scowl on the face of Lucifer Sam deepens. He makes his way to the back seat and flips up the cushion revealing the concealed compartment beneath. He keys in the code and the lock disengages the panel opening to reveal his true weapons and gear, Arven the Annihilators guns attached to his custom holdout bracers and the two missile rifles setting on top of his pitch black Shadow Cloak. He traces a gnarled finger along the barrel of one of the Naruni hand cannons lovingly and whispers low but intense his voice full of raw emotion."I was a fool to think Lotus could love me... Even more a fool to think she would wanna run off and make any sorta life with a four armed freak. That'll leave it jest you an me girls the way its always been. Yessir an we got ourselves a date with a cyborg pussycat. This time we gonna finish that dance fer keeps and it's gonna be a jig across his motherfuckin guts." Arven tries to spit the bad taste out of his mouth. Slamming the lid and replacing the cushion he has a look of pure hatred on his face that is in no way created by the morphing spell that hides his true identity. Sitting back into his chair he works to shift his boiling rage into a more manageable angry simmer. The white knuckle grip on the butt of the hard iron in his holster does not show any signs of lessening.

Troy found himself at peace for once. A rare state of mind for the savage drug-fiend. He blissfully weaved his hovercycle back and forth, and closed his eyes, to feel the breeze flow through his hair.

Re: Arven's Crew

The squad moved south for several minutes until the large cloud of black smoke can be seen in the horizon, identifying the crash site. Lieutenant Pukt changed course slightly to accommodate, and blasted toward the conflict. A crashed Coalition Death's Head Transport can be seen, flaming, and bellowing out a massive cloud of thick smoke as the squad draws closer, and soon the sounds of gunfire and explosions can be heard.

At approximately two miles from the crash site, the squad stumbles across some sort of hideous ritual sacrificial site. Nearly concealed in a sunken area of ground, near a few hills is a demon mage of some kind. There is a pile of human skin, skinned from bodies in one piece to one side of the small arrangement; there must be the flesh of dozens. The skinned corpses have been impaled on spears, forming a circular perimeter around a large boulder, where a demonic mage of some diabolical sort stands covering himself in the entrails of the recently killed. The rain washes it down his chest like a thick paste. There are also three or four small Lasae demons spotted climbing in and out of the flesh pile, but stop and hide as the group suddenly appears. There is a young girl strapped to the boulder, and her arm has already been severed, and lays in the dirt beside them.

A large, black sword, sticking out of the ground, covered in mystical runic markings rests unattended next to a small campfire, smoking from a recent cooking fire.

The demonic mage has white skin, horns and what looks like a leathery exoskeleton. He is no more than 8 feet tall, and is wearing a bulky black robe, with the hood up. He is completely nude, and exposed as his robe hangs open. Standing up straight in surprise as the Tolkeen military squad shows up, he conceals one hand behind his back, and rests the other at his side.

He stands and watches, waiting for a reaction... There is no sign of any sort of military rank, or allegiance to any faction...

Pukt slows his hovercycle, and then completely stops about 60 feet away from the edge of the circle of bodies (which is composed of 50 bodies, 25 feet across.

Re: Arven's Crew

Solstice follows up the group on a bastardized hoversled. With a short flatbed and room for two people, it looks like it might have been designed with battlefield medics in mind. This one was put together from spare parts and had pieces of non-essential bodywork missing where mini-missiles had impacted.

The Mystic Knight keeps his distance behind the rest of the group, and allows himself to fall well behind as they approach the ritual circle. He slows to a halt a few hundred yards off and watches with keen interest as Pukt approaches the demon mage.

As he watches, Solstice re-secures his skull helm, and slides his heavy TW cannon onto his lap.

In reply to Mike (msg # 678):

"Well shit."

James doesn't even hesitate.  This was exactly why he existed. Kill evil mages.

Riding his hover cycle full throttle toward the demonic mage, infusing magical power into his battleaxe (-20 PPE), James prepares to strike.  Swinging his battleaxe high over his head as he rides toward the ritual James tries to decapitate the bastard with a drive-by beheading.  If that doesn't work he turns the cycle around ready to dismount and mix it up in close.

Re: Arven's Crew

Arvens' crew reacts almost immediately as soon as they see the grisly display of dark magic. With no visible Tolkeen markings, they knew they would not be imprisoned for taking them out.

Lieutenant Pukt actually assists in the attack, as soon as he sees James blast straight into the sacrificial area. Jamukha, the wolfen stares in shock, assuming James must be inexperienced, or a truly powerful ally to carelessly enter such an area without thought to wards, and other traps that could possibly kill him instantly...

Thanatos and Troy are just as quick to react and shoot the startled demon-mage, catching him off guard, and preventing him from properly defending himself when James decapitates him in one stroke. The demons' head rolls away toward the pile of flesh, and the body collapses into the mud. Blood pours from the wound, being washed away by the continuous downpour of rain.

The young, dismembered woman on the rock whimpers softly and slips out of consciousness.

The ornate black sword sticking out of the ground by the fire pit rocks back and forth in the strong winds, and appears to be sinking into the mud.
