Van walks over trying to hide his frown upon seeing who he must now work with. He walks steadily to stand beside Xion, and he stares across at the other members of first platoon.

"Lieutenant Xion sir." He states as a nervous greeting.

The sergeant ignores the other simvan and their comments. He turns his attention to his new platoon, and is about to speak but he is interrupted by the thundering footsteps of the air juggernauts : Set, Annubis and Isis.

Xion nods to Van, "Good to have a familiar face in the group. How have your preparations gone so far?"

"I couldn't get much done Xion sir. The towns people were not very helpful... and now I suspect most of them will be leaving..."

Set marches up to Tyirrak and stands tall beside Annubis and Isis. He has no clear expression but it is obvious the juggernaut is staring at the lanotaur.

"I have been told you are my new commander. I am glad. What directive would you have for my companions and I, sir?"

Annubis follows Set and stands half-behind him when Set reports in. He then suddenly steps in front of the other Juggernauts and stands at attenion much like a human would.

I have also been told you are my new commander. I am very glad. What would you have me do while waiting for war?"

Afte the other two iron juggernauts speak up and show off their pride, Isis too seems almost jealous and steps in front of both others and loudly declares herself to the lieutenants.

"I have also been told you are my new commander. You look like good leader and commander. I am very glad, also. What would you have me do?"

Xion's head drops, I understand their independant natures. They just don't realize what is coming... If they leave at least they won't be a hinderance. If I can assist in anyway Van, let me know."

Four members of fourth platoon can be seen leaving the main group on vehicles in a t formation. Three are on hovercycles on is riding a robot horse. They speed off South East of town.

Tyirrak gazed up at the three magical juggernauts as they reported to him.

"The three of you, under the immediate command of Corporal Van Fanel, comprise one of our two air flights. Air patrols may potentially involve ranging from the town, should we be attacked by radar-invisible bomber aircraft. You will always be in at least a group of two, if not more. What are your altitude limits?"

"If there is forewarning enough then I can also assist in the air as can one of my elemental brethren. my altitide is effectively limitless. Though I have never ventured out into space I have gotten close." Obidiahs pleasant telepathic voice intones to those in the immediate vicinity. The big golem walks over nearer to Tyirrak and the others. "Unless I have specific orders I need to be about immediately I think I will go back to help finish up some of the front line defenses I began with Silvermasque earlier. I wanted to make him aware of some of the elemental magic I intend to employ." Without waiting for an answer the golem turns about and begins walking off. He is not really an insubordinate type he is just not the best soldier around. Probably comes from years of being in charge of the universities history department and telling other peole what to do. It also explains why he has been promoted and subsequently busted back down in rank twice already in his short military career.

OOC: Obidiah will stop off to mediatate and absorb PPE from the ley-line as well as attempt an elemental summoning, which fails, before going back to help do some drudge work.

"Our range is limited by my own altitude at 20 000 feet. But that outclasses a SAMAS.

Tyirrak would have nodded in affirmation to Obidiah had the golem already not begun walking off.

He turned to Corporal Van Fanel, "Corporal, outfit these Juggernauts with long-range radios and flare launchers and begin high-altitude aerial patrol in pairs. Report all immediately suspicious movements but do not engage unless ordered to or under any sort of direct attack. Use the flare launchers if an attack is imminent and you find your radios scrambled."

He turned to the rest of the unit, "The rest of us will begin securing defensive positions and clearing out civilians in those positions or immediately detrimental to those positions."

Razgriz, one known for silence, will simply head off with the bulk of the Platoon to join in the construction of defenses and protection for the city. His own abilities will be coming into play after the initial attacks have passed, but for now he will make use of himself for manual labor. Though if asked he will be glad to submit his PPE for use on the construction of defenses.

"Yes sir." is all he says before taking to the sky with the three juggernauts.

"Daemonix you are coming with me. You will both help me clear out the lake side theater, hotel, and the appartments."

Braga says nothign else and heads off towards the lake expecting the daemonix to follow.

The gromek lands his TW board by Tyirrak, and salutes the lanotaur.

"Major Karno is requesting you choose two men for radar watch duty to be ready to serve 2 hour shifts. He also  wants constant reports on patrol locations and findings, along with status updates on town defenses."

The gromek does not wait around long before leaving again, after Tyirrak nods in response.

The hulking creature looks down at Tyirrak and Xion "Orders sir?"

"Take defensive positions with Sergeant Braga at the outlying defensive positions. Do not engage unless ordered to do so."

Tyirrak spoke into the radio to Corporal Van Fanel, "Corporal Van Fanel, take the juggernauts to high altitude and do a sweep to the North-East until visual of target is confirmed. Report in immediately upon sighting of the unknown radar signal."

Jess'Voruk makes no attempt to stop the drool from dripping from the sides of his mouth while he towers over Tyirrak.

"I hope the killing is about to begin..."

Braga nods to Tyirrak after hearing his orders to the daemonix.

"Ret'la you're with me as well. Lieutenant! somebody has to tell that stupid golem Obidiah to stay with his fucking platoon!"

Braga unslings his rifle and moves up for cover followed closely by the two daemonix. He calls to Obidiah over the radio.

"Womble! get back to your damn platoon."

Xion grabs his rifle and sword, stashing the sword across his back and moves as fast as he can after Braga, "Shit hitting the fan earlier than I thought. Braga, keep your eyes up, that small of a missile barrage, likely an opening for their spec ops to move in closer. Least that's what I would use it for."

Lt. Xion, Sgt. Braga, and the Daemonix : Ret'la and Jess'Voruk have moved off to the church and set themselves up to defend the surrounding area.

Cpl. Fanel and the 3 juggernauts have taken to the skies and moved over to the graveyard, preparing for any incoming.

Lt. Tyirrak is still organizing. Sgt. Razgriz is with Tyirrak.

Pvt. Womble is off with 4th platoon.

Pvt. Solenestra has yet to report in to Tyirrak. (he is one of the new guys)

Obidiah comes tromping in completely unaware that Braga was yelling for him since he hadn't taken a radio with him. He walks up to where the majority of people are gathered and asks, "So are we taking cover anywhere in particular. I have some spells that can protect us from indirect missile fire. Even direct if they are small missiles. Anyway I can help."

Seemingly out of nowhere, Angel appears beside Lt. Tyirrak, "Angel Solenestra, reporting to duty. I can help evacuate any civilians if that's necessary."

Angel, in his linen outfit, looks suited for a cottage as opposed to the battlefield. However, looks are deceiving, for he exudes a calm confidence, from his eyes, to the voice, to his posture - he is indeed ready to serve.

Tyirrak charges for the nearest house, next to the one Razgriz and Obidiah are to enter.

A massive missile is headed directly for the area First Platoon is spread out in. It is only a matter of seconds. A second volley of medium missiles and a second long range missiles are on their way as well, with Calliandra and second platoons' Iron Juggernauts between the town and the missiles.

Several stray missiles from the first wave have lost their targets but may still hit somewhere in the town.

Obidiahs telepathic voice rings in the head of all those present. "These flimsy structures offer little hope of protection. I will erect a cushion of wind around us that should protect an area a little larger than 100ft from the majority of missile damage. The houses on the periphery of the circle will likely be destroyed. I hope the people evacuated like they were supposed to. Such are the horrors of war." Obidiah raises his giant sword into that air and it crackles with tendrils of electricity around its edges. The wind swirls around him ferociously but quickly spreads outwards into roughly the diameter he described. The effect is not unlike standing in the eye of a hurricane. The members of first platoon and any others present when he cast the spell sit in relative calm while all around them the debris from the buildings Obidiah just destroyed with his powerful magic is whipped around almost completely obscuring visibility.

Obidiah does not enter the home because to do so would likely just destroy it anyway and besides he sees it as a futile gesture. "This spell is destructive in its own right but we will likely survive and that is the point is it not? I could have and can do this for us as well as other members of Pluto Company as needed."   The big golem says primarily to Tyriak however he is broadcasting his telepathy to all within his 140ft radius.

OOC: The wind cushion can absorb up to 600 MD worth of explosive or other kinetic energy before it dissipates.

Angel follows Tyirrak towards the closest house with Tinker sitting atop his shoulder.

Sensing danger, Angel's eyes begin to glow.  With each stride towards the house, his body changes.  The colors in his body fade away, while his hands and feet turn into claws.  Next, a pair of horns extend from his head while a tail protrudes from his rear.  Finally, a pair of large feathery wings grows out of his back.

With his chest bare, an amulet glows on his chest - the only source of color on his pale body.

Transformed, he is now better suited to serve.

"Lieutenant I am taking the squad out to stop that long range missile!"

Corporal Van Fanel and the three iron juggernauts race towards the long range missile to stop it before it hits the town.

The stray missile spirals through the air and crashes into the base of The Lakeside hotel where Lt. Xion, Sgt. Braga and the two Daemonix are taking cover. The ground floor is filled with flames, and pieces of the building launch for hundreds of feet throug hthe air. The second two floors are completely vaporized, and the remaining seven stories collapse to the ground.

Xions' crew is nowhere to be seen...

"Lt. Xion, report in status." Tyirrak said into the radio.

Chunks of rubble are pushed down the mound as someone or something digs itself out of the building. The daemonix Ret'la'Uthanan stands up as dirt and rocks fall to the ground. He shakes his head to rid himself of the ash. He then notices the armless body of a woman. She must have been one of the former residents of the appartments that didn't want to leave.

Ret'la wastes no time before peeling her corpse from his shoulder where he found her and biting into her waist. He rips her in half without effort and swallos her whole, before tossing the legs in after the torso.

Ret'la licks his lips clean, and begins to look for signs of Jess'Voruk moving under the rubble.

Tyirrak runs over to the collapsed building and begins stomping his foot on the ground.

"Lieutenant Xion! tell me if I am close. Remain calm my friend, we will get you out."

Eventually when Xion responds that he is close, Tyirrak begins removing pieces of debris, being careful not to collapse the building any further.

(NPC'd)

"Thanks, Tyirrak, those damned deamonix dug out and left me and... Oh shit, I don't know if Braga is down there..."

After several minutes, Tyirrak finds both Xion and Braga, along with three more civilians - dead. Braga is unconcious and the explosion of the missile has all but disintigrated their armour. The Daemonix are fine, and have already naturally healed most of their injuries, and only ate the one dead body. Any other civilians living in those appartments are dead now.

Obidiah had negated his Windcushion spell and ran over to help extricate Xion and the others from the rubble. Keeping a close eye on the sky he prepares to cast the spell again at the first sign of any incoming missiles. "Please if we can let us all hurry back to the position we were holding a moment ago. I would like to minimize the destruction that I do to this town with my own magic. If I erect my missile shield again at the same spot it can protect us while not destroying any as yet undamaged buildings in the process."

"Let's do it Obidiah, can you carry Braga? Daemonix! come with us now!"

Tyirrak follows Obidiah.

Another two medium missiles are on their way to collide with the town. One towards first platoon, the other going further towards the militia's area again.

Obidiah scoops up Braga being surprisingly gentle yet wastes no time before running back in the direction where he had previously cast his powerful defensive spell. If missile impact is imminent he will cast the spell regardless of where he is however he would like to get back to the same position.

Angel keeps stays close to the mystic Golem, not wanting to be caught in the marvelous spell he is casting.  At the same time, he is keeping an eye out for any civilians that need a hand getting towards the group.

Tinker is happily sitting on his shoulder, similarly looking out for civilians.

(OOC: My apologies, there's been a death in the family - I'll try to keep as updated as possible here.)

The Lizardman who carried no modern weapons hid himself from view when the missiles were noted as incoming. There was little he could do in response to the attacks and he felt lucky to ride out the storm. When things had calmed down he looked over the wreckage wrought upon his platoon, then immediately heading off towards the site of the coalition wreckage.

He would start to take a body count of coalition soldiers, warning those nearby, "I will not disturb further the graves of Madtown, but I do require the Coalition corpses. All those who do not wish to see the grotesque should leave the area, the former CS forces will be able to take care of most of the cleanup here."

Mithas jogs over from sixth platoon. He runs by the burning, collapsed hotel. Mithas stops to run around the area, putting out the flames with his mind.

After a couple minutes the flames are extinguished and he makes his way for the bomber after Razgriz.

"Stay back Sergeant... that thing is likely filled with explosives!"

"Don't one of you officer types think that maybe you should call a medic..."

He is looking at Lt Tyirrak and Razgriz.

Tyirrak nods to Jess'voruk, then looks to Angel.

"Head to the radar tower quickly. Tell the Major Lt. Xion and Sgt. Braga were wounded in the missile explosion, along with several dead civilians. Tell him we need a medic of some sort."

Xion wanders the area aimlessly for a moment before returning to Tyirrak, "I am relatively unhurt, my armor too most of the damage I think. Although it looks as if I could use a new suit sir. I doubt they will have my personal armor in stock,  where have we decided to place supplies sir?"

Razgriz looks at the Minotaur, and then back to the burning wreckage beginning to cast a spell. Focusing only upon the interior of the Bomber and the corpses that might be inside, causing up to eight of them to rise away and shamble outside with everything they're wearing and carrying.

"I wasn't intending on going inside."

Mithas finishes extinguishing the fires and watches for any of the enemy to walk out of the crashed bomber, now members of the undead. But none do...

After several minutes Jess'Voruk returns alongside Ahnaka Kale from 5th platoon.

"This woman is a medic... as you asked Tyirrak. Now give me something to do other than delivering your messages."

Ahnaka runs to the site of the collapsed appartment and checks over as many of the civilians as she can find... they are all dead.

She then quickly checks over Braga and pulls off his armour. She spends several minutes checking him over, sometimes with her eyes closed. Braga returns to consciousness, and Ahnaka helps him to his feet.

"You will be fine Braga, you will need new armour however... Lieutenant Xion? Did you need me to take a look at you as well?

Xion shakes his head, "I am in the same boat as the sargeant, my armor too the brunt of the damage as far as I can tell. I will track you down if I need you. Thank you."

"Let me know Lieutenant. I will return to my platoon now."

"Jess'Voruk, you and Ret'La can start pulling that bomber apart. I want the church defended, and I want it to be protected from collapsing down on everyone inside the bunker. The exit is in teh graveyard, so we need that open and clear as well. Van, bring your squad in - I need them to assist in breaking down the bomber."

"Razgriz, take a squad out on patrol."

Tyirrak then follows the daemonix to the bomber to salvage what they can.

Razgriz is disappointed in finding no bodies in the bomber, but quickly moves to his hovercycle for the patrol.

"Van, Obidiah, Angel you're with me."

Razgriz speeds out past the bomber and the torn up graveyard, and heads out from town, assuming Van and Angel follow.

Tyirrak keyed his radio, "Major Karno, I'm putting in a request to requisition any operators that aren't busy to begin going over that bomber for salvage. Any weapons or undetonated explosives would be useful. Even any solid plates can be stripped off to reinforce key positions as required. Razgriz also has not found any bodies in it, which suggests either automated AI or control by remote. Might be useful information."

As Razgriz is leaving with his squad he turns to respond to Tyirrak's last orders.

"Sir, the bomber was brought down by an explosion in the cockpit of some sort...it is likely the crew was disintigrated."

There is an explosion inside the town, to the south. Smoke rises from one of the buildings near 4th platoons' location.

The sun is setting, as the first day in Madtown finally draws to an end...

A large modified Coalition Power Armour approaches alongside a most-savage looking dog boy, from the west side of town.

   Approaching at a walking pace, and from a direction that must have passed through numerous other Tolkeen military positions, the chances that Carver is an advance memberr of the Coalition invation force are quite slim.  Then again, he hasn't exactly announced his presence either.

   Carver strolls into the midst of 1st platoon, stops, looks around, and then transmits his voice through the loud speaker of his power suit.
   "Is this 1st platoon?  You Tolkeen-types all look the same to me..."

Sorkhan Shira follows behind Carver and waits for him to finish speaking. The proud, native Shifter looks over the members of second platoon until he spots the lieutenants, and then approaches Tyrriak and Xion.

"Good evening Lieutenants. I am taking control of the platoon. Nothing personal Lieutenant Tyrriak, but we wanted to spread out the high ranks. I will be in command of the front lines in fact.

"Understood Captain. Besides, I am not well-suited for command of large units." he stated it as a fact, as he gazed unblinkingly back at the native american, "Do you have any change in orders for 1st Platoon?"

The idea that the power armor was actually a Coalition unit passed through Obidiahs mind momentarily. The thought that he very likely may be an infiltrator also passes through the mind of the man become golem. The outcome, which would be the demise of the man inside, is the same either way so Obidiah does not bother even moving over to greet the man. Instead he continues doing what he spends the majority of his time doing and stands looking like a statue.

A cloud of dust separates itself from the column rising from within Madtown, moving towards 1st Platoon's location quickly.  From the speed it would seem to be a jetbike or some similar vehicle, though there's nothing of the right size within the cloud.  As it comes closer it slows down, the dust dropping away now that there's no longer a wake to pull it along.

Vashti comes running up at a relatively leisurely rate and stops near the group.  "I'm looking for Captain Shira, I'm Private Vashti just in from Tolkeen."

The sun finally sets and the moon lights up the streets of Madtown. The already quiet town is almost silent. Only a few hundred souls remain in the town, and most of them are sleeping.

Captain Shira elects Sergeant Razgriz to command the night patrol consisting of Private Womble, and the 3 Iron Juggernauts.

The rest of the platoon is ordered to get rest until sunrise the next morning.

The patrols are uneventful for the duration of the night, and before long the sun rises again.

Razgriz quickly finds himself a quiet, dark place to rest after his long night of mindless scouting...

Sorkhan is quick to rise to his feet and rid himself of the grogginess of sleep. He waits until the platoon is prepared to hear the first orders of the day.

"The next few days will be long grueling days of preparation. We will split into groups. Lieutenant Tyirrak, you will take a patrol out. Take Xion, Vashtii, and Angel with you. Stay within 5 miles of the town.

Carver, I understand you will be able to help get what we need from that bomber. Get started, and let me know if you require any assistance from us. Keep me posted. Obidiah Womble will help you and your partner."

Set, Annubis and Thoth, I want you ion the air for most of the day. Remain within 1 mile of the town.

Braga, I want all of the exlposives taken out of the bomber and gathered together. Van Fanel will help you.

Jess'Voruk? Ret'la? come with me...

"I will be at the Ley Line, feel free to contact me with any concerns. The daemonix will stay here now. and assist with the bomber."

Over the platoons' radio channel Shira commands : "Corporal Fanel, ensure the Juggernauts take down the hovercycle. Womble, follow along from the ground - assist where you can."

The hovercycle with Lord Osema and Reginald on board enter 1st and 5th platoons area. As the demons pass over the parking structure they are fired upon by a half dozen members of 5th platoon, all taking cover within the MDC structure.

Obidiah follows along on the ground trying to track the action in the sky as best he can. Everything he can do would risk the safety of those in pursuit as well so he holds off action until things get on the ground. He like everyone else heard Lotus call over the radio as well as Osema. He has little doubt that she attacked the Brodkil just as he reported. Of course he also believes that the worthless piece of demon scum deserves nothing but death so he does not let that bother his already dwindling conscience.

Osema lets out a gleeful warcry as the hovercycle ascends high into the air. "Faster Reginald fly up out of the weapons range of these cocksuckers!" He calls over the radio as they fly into the dark night sky. "I was attacked by that fucking whore Lotus and she murdered my brother. Though she still lives you are trying to kill Reginald and I. You fucking hypocritical pieces of shit! Fall back immediately or I will detonate the explosives I hid in the church bringing the fucking building down on all those pathetic mortals who cower in there. The dragon Jack crossed me and look what it got him." The radio pauses for a second before he calls out again. "Good work Nebress! If I do not contact you in five minutes kill all the hostages at your location. Make sure that you can contact Matyss as well and if he does not here from you in ten minutes have him execute the children and then the two of you flee. You Tolkeen shitfucks better decide just how much innocent blood you want on your hands. Likely all of you will get court martialed if you fuck this up. Negotiations are over motherfuckers!"

Torn between his duty to the army and his chosen duty to the world, Vashti is done waiting when the foul demon-scum mention that they have hostages.  Pausing only long enough to mutter a quick spell under his breath, Vashti takes off towards the church, the last place he'd seen the demons, at top speed.

On the way he keys his radio to the platoon's channel, "Captain Shira, this is Vashti, I can take care of the gargoyles, sir."

Reginald does as instructed, dodging and darting as best he can while stuck fast to the bike, "I am almost out of energy Osema. I can't make many more force fields at all."

Reginald will throw one up trying to get the best angle on the incoming shots to maximize its effectiveness.

The hovercycle makes its' way desperately towards the church. Being attacked from the ground, and by the three juggernauts in tow... the bike and both demons should be atomized by now... if it were not for Reginald and his psionic forcefields.

In just under six seconds from Osema's last command the bike crashes through the massive double-doors to the place of worship.

[ Osema and Reginald may now post in your own thread... again. I assume everyone else is on their way to the church... ]

As the chase comes to a hault at the church, the closest pursuers of Osema and Reginald can see Mithas come running out of the doors to the church after the hovercycle crashes them open. One of the gargoyles is seen closing the doors again from the inside.

"The gargoyles are inside the church!!! Somebody get these off me!!!"

Mithas is enraged and disoriented. He has been beaten over the last few minutes, his hands are bound, and his eyes are covered.

Jelme leads all of 5th platoon to the church. With a few hand signals they encircle the building, with Jelme and his counterpart Tecumseh at the main entrance. Jelme releases Mithas of his restraints, and moves to the doors to see if he can push them open...

He cannot...

The three Iron Juggernauts that were in pursuit break off as the hovercycle enters the church, and move into a circling pattern over the building.

Van and Obidiah arrive just behind them, with the rest of HQ and 1st platoons converging on the area moments later.

Zor arrives along with Attila and Khan closley behind Obidiah and Van.

"This must be done quickly... they are wounded and will heal if we do not end this here and now. Reginald was likely holding up force fields with his psychic abilities... those too must be near to drained by now. Lieutenant Tyirrak, take a squad inside immediately. Osema, Reginald and the gargoyles are to be killed on sight - keep a look out for our hostages and keep in mind the civilians are in the bunker underground."

Tyirrak nods to the Major, making no attempt to hide his anxious grin.

"Yes sir. Xion, Vashti and Obidiah you're with me. Mithas? Jelme? care to join us?"

He moves closer to the doors and enters when his squad appears ready.

   Carver looks at the church doors, trying to eyeball a rough measurement of their height and whether or not his fourteen foot tall power armour could fit inside if necessary.  But he also doesn't think it is necessary and keeps quiet, letting the others walk into what is sure to be a slaughter.
   "Archangel, how many can you smell in there?  Let me know if you smell 'em leaving the church on the other side or somethin."  Carver keeps his eyes on the church while speaking to his mutant canine companion.

Xion nods, "Let's gut those bastards... Vashti, just like old times right?" Xion draws his two Ion pistols and move to the edge of the door.

Obidiah having arrived first with Van stands in front of the church doors his bulk blocking the way in. "They have hostages. There are children in there. If we rush in guns blazing innocents will die. If we let them go then perhaps loss of life can be avoided and we can easily hunt them down later. I refuse to be part of an action that will result in the death of Tolkeen civilians if it can be easily avoided. They are demons and deserve to die for that reason alone in my opinion. However can it even be proven that they have done anything punishable by death? Perhaps you could contact them on the radio and negotiate Sir. The golem suggests to Karno.

Tyirrak appeared motionless for a moment. "Conventional stealth spells will not work if we need to infiltrate.. Many demons can naturally see the invisible."

The Lanotaur seemed to shiver for a moment.

"Do not contact HQ platoon via radio. I will establish psionic communication with Captain Karno."

Zor shakes his head at the suggestion given by Obidiah, not that it was a bad suggestion, just that Zor had tried to reason with the Brodkil and his followers already.

"They were given a chance to surrender themselves to the authorities after convesing to a crime several hours ago, they chose not to. Several minutes ago I told them they could peacfully leave Madtown, they chose not to do so." Zor then goes on "Furthermore they have taken hostages in attempt to save themselves. I highly doubt any sort of negotiation will work, as they will simply kill any hostages they have as soon as those hostages are of now use to them."

"I realize some innocents may be killed but that just happens to be a tragedy of war. So you may stand by and allow innocents to die, or you may try to save them, and risk losing some in the process."

Jelme activates his psionic blade and walks up to Tyirrak.

"We are with you."

Tecumseh and Togorhul step forward, their swords are "drawn" as well.

Mithas slams his fist against his chest

"You can bet I am coming Tyirrak... I owe them one... I just need a gun... somebody get me a gun..."

Vashti nods at Xion, "Indeed, the fools should have thought twice before trying to betray us.  Demons, they'll never learn."  The jeridu's grin suggests that that last thought is not altogether unwelcome.

A metalic sussuration follows as Vashti draws six of the swords attached to his harness then moves to take up a position opposite Xion at the door.

Tyirrak is not standing by the door and in fact shakes his head and begins to walk away from the church, motioning for the others to follow him.

Once he's taken them behind some nearby buildings, he removes his helmet. He doesn't speak a word.

Obidiah walks away back towards the area 1st platoon has been assigned to protect.

Tyirrak creates his mystic portal in front of the newly formed squad and steps through. While on the roof of the church he creates a globe of silence as planned. A few moments later Xion, Vashti, Mithas, Jelme, Tecumseh and Togorhul step through and form a circle completely in silence on the roof of the church.

There are no visible entrances on the roof to get inside the building. They must act quickly.

Attila and Khan move to the main entrance and stop until the others get into position. With 5th platoon surrounding the building, Major Karno, Lt. Dyvalis, Pvt. O'Hare and the 4 techno wizards take cover and face the entrance behind the Juggernauts preparing to attack if they can see the demons when the juggernauts open the doors...

Sgt. Razgriz, Cpl. Fanel, Carver and Archangel join the others from HQ platoon at the entrance to the church.

Set, Annubis and Isis circle the church in the air a few hundred feet above Tyirrak and his infiltration squad.

Flat Bullet and his squad of gunmen show up a few moments later and help surround the building, with Flat Bullet at the main entrance.

Tyirrak concentrated for a while, using his powers of clairvoyance to recon likely point of entry...

Tyirrak moved the globe of silence to a likely location and pulled a long knife out, shoving it into the roof on an angle, and proceeded to cut a block out of the roof as quickly as he could, masked by the silence.

Van checks the area quickly from the sky when he first arrives. As Wraith and Calliandra appear he looks over at the pair, casting a brief sympathetic look toward Calli, then a more ambiguous look at Wraith that seems to be laced with some degree of smugness.

He approaches the Major "Permission to assemble a small squad at the graveyard entrance and cut off their escape?"

Zor had almost forgotten about the secret exit out of the church.

“Take three others with you. Sheriff Flat Bullet could you send two or four of your men with Cpl. Van?”

Zor then gets on the radio, and calls someone up on a private comm channel.

Van rounds up his team and makes for the graveyard entrance. He ignores his radio for the time being. He issues an order to Annubis to take up position above the exit, 40ft up. His primary targets should be the Gargoyles, otherwise the Syvan.

"Spread out, make a wall about 60ft from the exit and find cover," he shouts as they approach their position, "If they come out this way try to draw them into the centre. If they go wide, spread more and try to keep them between us and the rest of HQ and 1st. Be ready to give chase."

He looks over towards Carver, "Sam, will your friend there be able to smell them coming? If so it'd be nice to get a heads up when they're on their way out."

Sergeant Wraith leads his squad (Dragon, Banshee and Ghoul) along with the others he mentioned in his response to Van. They are heading towards the lake.

Attila pulls open the doors to the church, revelaing Tyirraks' squad inside... and Frijio's headless corpse.

Attila pulls open the doors, and it becomes apparetn after Vans' radio transmission that the church strike team was too late.

After Tyirrak and thothers rejoin their platoons, Maeth strolls out of the church. He was one of the hostages from 6th platoon.

There has been no report that the demons had been killed as of yet, this night is not over yet...

Tyirrak sheathed his knives and punched a hole through a wall in annoyance.

Zor strolls into the church looking at the headless corpse of Frijio. He then looks over to Tyirrak.

“I sent some others to the graveyard as there is an exit out of the church that leads there. Those who can move quickly may go with you, coordinate with Cpl Van, he should already be on site.”

"Godsdamnit!" Vashti cried, looking into the empty basement.  The swordsman takes a careful look around anyway, then sheathes and resecures his swords to his harness, waiting to hear from any of the other teams.

At Major Karno's words, the jeridu's face brightens.  "Major?  I can outrun just about any hoverbike they make, long as those demons," the word is said with some obvious distaste, "don't take to the air I doubt they'll be able to outdistance me."

Tyirrak nodded in confirmation and then loped out of the church to the graveyard.

"Cyber Knights we will follow on our bikes. The rest of you return to your posts on the lines."

Jelme and the other two Knights blast off after Tyirrak and Vashti on their hovercycles.

Mithas notices Maeth is carrying Frijios' head. "Hang on to that."

Mithas then walks into the church and picks up the corpse of Frijio and walks back out. He leaves a trail of blood from the doorway to the place where the body was laying for several minutes.

"Bring that with you. We are going to find a coffin and send him back to Tolkeen."

If they are not interrupted Mithas and Maeth will search for a coffin, then teleport him back to Tolkeen on the teleporting circle. After which they will return to the front lines with the remainder of 6th platoon.

Van returns shortly after midnight along with the juggernauts and Carver and Archangel. Of them, only Isis appears to have taken damage, and the massive power armour is regeerating by itself...

Tyirrak and Vashti return together after the others. Vashti's equipment shows signs of plasma damage but he is otherwise unharmed.

The night disappears into memory and the sun washes away the blood of last night. There is alot of work to be done to prepare for the coming siege.

As morning comes and the platoons prepare to start another day of fortification. The Captain announces a couple platoon adjustments.

"Sergeant Braga and Private Solenestra, you have been reassigned to 3rd platoon, and Sergeant Razgriz, you have been reassigned to HQ platoon. You can get your things and head out.

Not being much of a sleeper these days, Van catches a couple hours meditation on the ley line, replenishing his PPE and trying to clear his mind. He will then take a look at his Dynamo Exoskeleton, trying to get a feel for it. He'll try it on and give it a test run. Once morning comes, he will try and round up what Techno-Wizards are left who are not on some other duty and stop in at the Park Garage again.

The next morning a much subdued Vashti begins the process of replacing his gear.  The borrowed BDU pants work well enough to preserve modesty, but finding a jacket will be another thing entirely.  The Jeridu approaches Sorkhan early in the morning.  "Captain Shira, permission to try to replace my gear sir?"

The Captain is still at the ley line at the early hours of morning, as such Vashti asks Tyirrak instead and is granted permission with a wave of his hand. It does not take long for Vashti to replace what was lost.

Captain Shira returns to his platoon just before noon.

The shifter is now accompanied by two demopnic beings that were not around last evening. One, is a massive spider standing 15 feet tall. It moves its' head around staring at the platoon with all of its' eyes. The other is a demonic warrior in black armour. It would appear human if it werent for its size and inhuman grey skin.

Sorkhan speaks as if they were not present.

"First Platoon. We have made it through one grueling, and un-organized day at Madtown, I guess there is a reason for the name...
Today I want that bomber turned into a wall, giving us cover in the graveyard. Private Womble I want you to oversee that, with the help of Carver and his companion. Also be sure that our exit from the church in the graveyard is well protected... I don't want to see that collpased or covered when we need it most. Lieutenant Tyirrak I want you to take out a squad and start patrolling. Get an idea on our surroundings and report any sign of Coalition Patrols. Take Xion, Vashti and Sanguum here. (motioning to the warrior-demon beside him). Fanel, I understand you have business to take care of, carry on and inform me if you need anything. I am going to speak with 4th to co-ordinate our efforts.

5th Platoon can be seen moving about their areas. Several are fortifying trenches, or building defenses around armoured cars near the farms. Other members are behind the Mayors' home and the Lakeside Theater.

The residents that survived the missiles in the Lakeside Appartments have taken what they intend on keeping and have moved into the church with most of the other residents of the town.

A gargoyle from 4th platoon can be seen magically digging bunkers and trenches, while members of FireFly Squad follow behind setting up pegs and mapping out their eventual mine-field.

Obidiah plods along and does as he is told. Until combat starts he is little more than a supernaturally powered mule. He can appreciate that reality.

   Carver introduces himself to the walking golem from inside his own power armour.  Although the GB Killer is 14 feet tall, the "face" appears to be mounted in the chest and isn't much higher than that of Obidiah.
   "Nice ta meetcha, pal, name's Carver.  Don't let the puppy worry ya, he's real friendly."  Carver reaches out to give Obidiah a handshake with his right robot hand while pointing at the puppy (aka rabid killhound) with his left.
   "I'm actually in the salvage business and I got me a pick-up truck, but it won't be big enough fer this op.  We're going to head on over to one of the farms and requisition ourselves a tractor and a flatbed trailer.  Then we'll be en route to the aircraft to load up on anything of use.  Might have to make a few trips, but you look like you can handle some heavy liftin'"

   With that, Carver turns to head out to the farm where he knows the equipment he needs is located.  Moving at a walking pace seems to be satisfactory for now.  It'll give him a chance to get to know his new companion.

Jess'Voruk and Ret'la follow allong behind the other three. They speak to each other in some demonic language and pay little attention to the others.

PM:

At one point Van will check in at the clock tower to check the status of the radar, making notes on its range, the amount of targets it can track, and the exactitude of its computations. If possible he will sync his palm computer to the unit to receive a real-time feed.

Tyirrak, Xion, Vashti and Sanguum head off on patrol, while Van makes his way to the clock tower. Corporal Fanel discovers what he was looking for but is unable to establish a real-time feed from the radar system.

Van then gathers with the techno wizards of HQ platoon to begin his outfitting preperations.

Tyirrak stood there waiting in his mega-juicer armor, where he has artfully smudged soot and dirt over the seams where a light camouflage netting cape meets his armor.

"Alright, since we have a large area to patrol, we're going to be going at a fair clip, but keep your eyes open. If you can hide your thermal signatures in any way, please do so. We don't know if the Coalition has snipers trying to set up close by."
He lowered and fastened the visor on the helmet, and for one moment blades slid out of his armor in various places including knees, elbows, instep, heel, fore-arm, knuckles, forehead and shoulders... And then slid neatly back in again. Tyirrak was merely testing the mechanism.

"Lets head out."

Lieutenant Tyirrak leads the four man platoon out in a North-East direction, in the direction the bomber came from. They pass by the debris left over from the six power armours that Calliandra, Oksana and the Iron Juggernauts from 2nd Platoon took down. Many of them are in pieces...

It is mostly open fields and hills, with a large forest to the north between the patrol route and the ley line. No sign of anyone or anything anywhere...

Tyirrak dropped his core tempature to that of his surroundings and then glanced at Xion, "If you have the Aura of Death spell use it on yourself and the others, to remove your thermal tracings."

Tyirrak kept his eyes and other sensory organs alert and wary, ready for any number of various indicators to send him into action and/or retreat.

Xion shakes his head in the negative, "I have not learned that spell sir."

Sanguum stares back at Tyirrak from behind his mask. "Cannot shroud myself"

"Nor can I," Vashti adds, "Not particularly my style I'm afraid."  He shoots a grin towards Xion, "Subtle I can do, but invisible is another thing entirely."

The patrol sets out, without the stealthy abilities of Tyirrak for the other members.

Tyirrak leads the pack, with Xion and Vashti on either side of him, 50 feet away. Sanguum is clearly not enjoying this task, and is dragging behind the others, though he is following.

It's just hills, and grasslands for a long stretch. No sign of any Coalition or any more demons. Not yet...

Carver ignores Obidiah and continues working on salvaging the bombers' systems and explosives.

The patrol returns several hours later with nothing but a description of the surrounding area.

The juggernauts remain on patrol, while the majority of the platoon fortifies the church tunnel entrance and exit, and then setting up walls and defensive positions with pieces of the bomber. The daemonix spend hours digging foxholes and trenches.

Sorkhan Shira leaves to speak with Silvermasque about having Firefly setting up the bombers' salvaged explosives as traps and weapons in their area, and for the help of Hagriss the Gargoyle mage.

Tyirrak, Xion, Vashti and Sanguum quickly find themselves with nothing to do after the uneventful patrol. Seeing Obidiah, Carver and Archangel working hard at disassembling the bomber and its' explosives, the 4-man squad heads over to help.

Another night approaches, and the days' work is complete. First platoon gathers for a quick briefing on what was completed. The night watch is the other half of the platoon that did not stay up the previous night. And the rest head off to sleep in their rooms at The Lakeside Boarding House.

Van reports in on his progress at the garage, building TW anti-missile defenses. Instead of retiring to the bording house he goes back to the shop and works through the night until a couple hours before dawn when he sneaks back in for a couple hour's rest. He has to keep himself busy to ignore this awful feeling he has about this whole situation.

  In the morning the platoon gathers for a briefing before returning to work. Around mid-day another large group of people come into sight from the south. Most are civilians, but there are many warriors with them. At least 2500 in total.

They are met by Major Karno and brought into the city, past the demon horde which has spread out in groups of 4 to create a perimeter around the town. Several are using the outer trenches and foxholes made by the platoons. Lord CHoron is stationed nearby.

The civilians are from the Town of Salvation to the south. They are too close to Madtown to ignore the invasion, so they have come to fight and die alongside Madtown. Approximately 180 militia are joining forces with Pluto Company, splitting into 2 groups of 25, and 5 groups of 26 and splitting up among the platoons.

1st platoon receives a group of 26 militia men, mostly human mages and riflemen, led by a dwarf named Gomlin.

Van returns exited to have completed 30 anti-missile defense systems with the other techno-wizards.

They are pods that synch up with the radar. When missiles enter the 100 mile range, we scramble these things to line up with the missile's path. It flies into the air using Telekinesis and when a missile comes into range it targets it with Energy Disruption.

He returns to work quickly assuming 1st platoon will spread them out quickly. Van is now working on ground defense of some sort.

The dwarf finds Captain Shira quickly and reports in

"The name is Gomlin sir, where do you want us?"

Shira sits tall atop his newly summoned dragon-dactyl, next to Sanguum, also on a dragon-dactyl and Toq'Toa the Spider Demon (who has taken on a human size and shape) atop a silonar.

He stares down at Gomlin and looks over the graveyard, the barricades, foxholes and trenches his platoon has made, with the help of Cannon Fodder of 4th platoon.

"Take two thirds of your men and take positions behind the demon horde. Have the other third cover our northern front."

The creature known as Toq'Toa, formerly a giant spider demon at Sorkhans' side has taken the form of a human, and has spent the entire day summoning gallu demon bulls, and keeping them trapped within the confines of magic circles he has drawn into the ground outside one of the buildings nearby.

He has 7 Demon-Bulls so far, and has been traveling to the ley line and back for energy, leaving Sanguum the Hound Master in control of the bulls while he is away.

"I want everybody to find suitable places among the lines among the Salvation Militia. Xion, you are in charge of the daemonix, keep them out of the way of the demon horde... or you will have a bloodbath on your hands. Keep them with you, and give them orders in battle."

"Carver you are with me, I want you to fill me in on the placement of our makeshift minefield."

Sorkhan is interrupted by an officers' meeting that evening, and leaves Tyirrak in charge.

Ahead of the demon squads are half of 5th platoon, led by Ahnaka Kale. Jelme and the other half are behind 1st platoon.

Xion nods, "Yes sir, they will be with me during battle." Turning to the two daemonix, "Let's skip all of the 'I don't like you and you don't like me' bullshit. I give orders, you follow. Clear enough?"

The golem has been working non-stop the past couple of days heaving around the largest pieces of scrap using his supernatural strength and a makeshift sled he devised. Not needing food, water or rest Obidiah has done an exceptional amount of work without complaint. In fact he has not spoken at all. Not that he really speaks per se' anyway. When the call about the gathering Coalition force comes over the radio he sets down the large piece of bomber wing he was carrying hastily not holding it in place for the militiman with the arc-welder like he has been doing the last five hours. The big golem walks over to the church where he stowed his satchel and his 12ft sword. He straps the sword onto his back and slings the satchel over his armored shoulder and begins walking away. He is headed Northeast around the edge of the lake. He is certainly not heading southeast towards the invasion force.

The call comes in on the radio in the workshop. Immersed in his constructions, he had forgotten about the impending doom that was heading toward them, the very reason he had spent the last 3 full days welding like a madman. But the call from Ra was a summon back to reality.

He nods to the TW squad, wishing them luck. He then straps himself into his newly tweaked Dynamo Armor. The TW exoskeleton powers up, and he gets on his Turbo Board, making for the radar tower.

He checks in with whoever is operating the tower. "No sign of missile threats yet?" His pods are in place, but without a formal test, he is still a little nervous about their functionality.

Vashti took up a position near the front of the lines in a foxhole.  He seemed to have shaken off the previous days' unease quickly enough, almost skipping in his eagerness for the waiting to be over.  With a quick hop-step he slid into the dubious shelter of the hole, then proceeded to ensure he's able to exit quickly.  Two or three holes later he'd managed to locate one that meet his demands, whatever they were.

A quick adjustment to his gear ensured that everything was ready, even managing to set the kevlar helmet issued to Tolkeen regulars at a jaunty angle, though how Vashti'd accomplished that feat was anyone's guess.  The Jeridu gave the nearest militia solder a grin and a thump on the back, "This is gonna be great."

Xion speaks to his two new charges, the daemonix, "Follow. Tell me know, what you are capable of. Magics? Psionics?" Xion races to a position near Vashti, "Just like old times friend... except this time we have a bit more muscle on our side." Xion has a slight grin on his face as he speaks to his former and once again squad mate.

"And don't we know it.  Let's just hope the corpse corps doesn't this time."  Vashti's face darkened as he thought back to some of the previous operations he'd been on during the war, "Just make sure you don't shoot me again, Xion, that little pop-gun of yours stings"

Ret'la glares down at Xion. He grins, releasing a horrid stench of rotten meat. He stands tall beside his counterpart Jess'voruk.

Duk,tar, dthoo rag skar-vuk"

Tyirrak brings the Iron Juggernauts back to the ground and they find places with reasonable cover among the buildings on the lines. The Lanotaur then follows Xion, both Daemonix, and Vashti to the trenches.

The radar operator answers no to Corporal Fanel, wondering why the young techno wizard was there, and not with his platoon.

Xion nods, "Good answer. Well, your job, is to keep us alive. No matter the cost. You defend the Tolkeen forces, and slaughter the Coalition, that does sound fun doesn't it?"

"Very good radar operator. Keep me informed, I need to activate the anti-missile defenses, and I'm just making sure my palm feed is accurate." He says, defending his brief stop in an 'excuse me for living' way.

After that, he flies his board over to his company, while tinkering with his palm device, bringing up maps and overlaying the radar feed. He also holds an awkward, rectangular apperatus with a bunch of light switches on it. They are taped down for the time being and it is powered off, but it is the control for the Adhesion Mines he fashioned. (OOC: I assume they've been layed as well by now?)

He reports to Captain Shira and awaits orders while concerning himself with his own preparations.

"Korranagar, thukchut rem ti mat"

1st Platoon radio channel "Here they come, take cover!"

Though Vashti, himself, was a tough nut to crack, the previous night's exercise had shown that his equipment wasn't always so rugged.  He hunkered down in the foxhole, still grinning like a maniac.  "Just follow me, son, we'll give 'em hell."

Tyirrak hefted a WI-GL21 grenade launcher and checked the drum. He wasn't going to get a lot of chances for up-close combat near the start, but was still going to get to deliver some skull-heads from their miserable sodden lives.

The first ping on Van's palm computer makes his heart jump. "Ok, I'm on it. Activating anti-missile defenses." He activates the pods as they rise to radar altitude. He activates his ballistics program and begins lining up his pods, hoping that he can cover the whole barrage. While they reposition a timer runs in the top corner.

"Captain Shira, permission to engage any missiles that get through?" It is important to always be thinking of a Plan B.

"By all means Fanel, but don't get stupid and don't crash our juggernauts."

A black wall in the night sky approaches the town from the south east...

At the same time huge black storm clouds roll in and blanket the town in pouring rain, and crackling thunder. The storm came in unnaturally quickly...

The black wall moves closer...

Obidiah sits at the leyline gathering energy. His thick inhuman fingers fumble with the large stones he uses as an elemental focus. He can sense the unnatural weather as it approaches. It gives him a small amount of confidence that there is at least one other brother of the air out there somewhere. Still he cannot help but doubt his requests will go unanswered. When his ritual is over he stands in awe of the being before him. Just when he was prepared to give into despair his faith, the cornerstone of his magic, is affirmed by the presence of the greater elemental that came to his call. After respectfully thanking his elemental brother he has it carry him aloft high into the air above Madtown.

He points out landmarks to the creature as he relays his simplified set of instructions making sure to be very clear and use terms that cannot be misunderstood. What he has planned would be deadly to everyone in Madtown otherwise. He then notices the large black wall approaching the town and points to it. The invisible being of energy flies Obidiah over towards the area of the graveyard and unceremoniously drops the 2100lb golem from over 1000ft up in the air. Obidiah claws his way out of the impact crater his drop made and walks back over towards 1st platoons area of defense. He looks the same as always. An emotionless statue of alien metals. Inside the wizened old warlock and professor of history is smiling.

Over near the southeast part of town about a half mile away from the approaching wall of darkness the swirling winds of the raging storm begin to coalesce into one large super cell that quickly drops four tornadoes. Spaced out about 150ft apart the four deadly funnels travel in a straight line directly into the black wall. A minute after that the weather that seemed to be getting bad begins to increase exponentially. Thankfully for the defenders of Madtown the 100 degree drop in temperature, 100 MPH increase in winds and 120% increase in precipitation are all occuring outside of the perimeter defenses, including most of the lake, in huge 3000ft spheres. These speheres, slightly overlapping one another, begin popping up one after another until the entirety of Madtown is encircled. Directly above Madtown the sky that was already darkening becomes an almost impenetrable curtain of pitch black and the winds swirl around at hurricane velocity. For a few moments Madtown itself no doubt suffers from this wildly unnatural weather phenomenon but then just like in the eye of a hurricane the wind all across the town lessens until it is completely still. The precipition wanes until it is non-existant and the temperature rises up to a comfortable 70 degrees Faherenheit. It is still dark and no doubt noisy inside the peaceful bubble while outside a storm of biblical proportions rages against the oncoming Coalition war machine.

Xion shrugs, "Perhaps your foul tongue speaks true. Maybe this is my last battle, but you and your companion and I... we will make it a glorious one. Those coalition bastards will not set foot past us. You and he are to make sure of that. Clear?"

grumble... grumble...

Xion laughs, "Forgive my insolence. I could not tell, since the physiology of your kind is so different from my own. Now, shut your mouth, and get ready to slaughter the coalition, that is what you like...no?"

"Oi, Xion!"  Vashti shouted from where he'd hunched into shelter during the nascent storm, "I've got a bottle of 50-year-old whiskey says I get to 'em before you and your crew do!"

In spite of the ominous wall and threatening weather, the jerridu seemed to be enjoying himself.

Obidiah Womble from 1st Platoon and Calliandra from HQ Platoon can be seen in the air above Madtown. Obidiah appears responsible for the summoned storm as he continues to manipulate the elements, while Calliandra flies towards the incoming missiles.

The streets of Madtown are soaked in a matter of seconds, and the winds pick up howling between buildings.

Xion grins, "How about we get them together, then share the whiskey old friend..." Xion knew Vashti was bold, and in this situation, that might be a terrible thing, Xion mutters something in elvish to Vashti...

Van, still planted on the ground, watching the missiles approach, gets into a nearby foxhole to avoid the wind, laying prone while he focusses on the radar feed. He will take to the air when the missiles are a little under a minute away. He also switches to nightvision.

As the wind trailed off, Vashti's white-locked head peered up out of the foxhole. He peered at the black wall as if trying to will himself to see beyond it.  Ducking back down he muttered a few arcane words and passed one had over his eyes, then popped back up to look again.  "I'll hold you to that, friend." he said to Xion as he scanned the distance.

Xion grins, "I expect you too old friend, now enough of the sentimental shit, what do you see?"

The missiles break through the massive, black thunderstorms surrounding the town. Several of them are knocked off course and crash into others, but the majority (80%) continue towards the town.

Private Calliandra O'Hare from HQ Platoon meets them at the edge of the calm and activates her scrambling pack.

Hundreds of missiles are out of her range, however she manages to scramble and redirect many more of the missiles into each other, or to fall short of their targets and land just outside of town. Calliandra also has activated an uplink ability. If you have can accept it, you receive 'data' from her observation point. (+1 to initiative and dodge)

Calliandra herself is forced to dodge incoming missiles as she has placed herself directly in the way of a cloud of them.


The missiles (75%) that make it through blanket the town in fire...

Obidiah had just made it to the outer ring of 1st Platoons defenses and was looking to find an appropriately sized foxhole when the storm of missiles breaks through the storm created by his elemental brother. Spying Xion and Vashti not far away spread among the other defenders in the trenches he knows he is in the right spot. Madtown may get blown to shit but the fighters of first platoon will not. At least not until they get a chance to fight back themselves. His telepathic voice broadcasts out to everyone in sight urging them to move in closer to him.  He does not wait long however, only a few moments, because there is no time. Thrusting a large metal fist into the air and swirling mass of powerful winds surround an area 130ft in diameter creating a Wind Cushion to absorb the impact of the missiles much like he did previously. If any other group of defenders are visible within his 1000ft range he will cast the spell on the area around them as well.

Xion, sensing the weather isn't exactly natural looks around quickly and spots Womble in the air, giving a nod the golem surely didn't see he thanks him silently, "Vashti, we live through this and we kill everyone of those skull headed bastards we get close enough to."

"C'mon kid," Vashti said, grabbing the militia member sharing the foxhole, "We got us a date with a statue."  As he spoke those words, Vashti was already climbing out of the hole and dragging his fellow soldier with him.

Holding the soldier easily with three of his arms, Vashti sprinted towards Obidiah.  As he ran, he held out his other arms towards Xion as he passed the elf.

The young militia-man with Vashti resists when he is pulled. Angrily, he shoves Vashti, telling him to get off of him. The soldier then hops into his foxhole and braces for impact.

Obidiah lands near to Xion and Vashti. Tyirrak is not far away and moves closer, along with Jess'voruk, Ret'la and Van Fanel.

The missiles land scattered over the town. Several crash into the church, shattering every inch of glass. Areas of the roof cave in, and a small section of wall was vaporized.

Boone's Farm (#11) is completely destroyed, along with a several of the residential homes west of the farm. Madtown civilians scramble from burning houses. Many are missing limbs, or severely burnt. Others are utilizing healing powers to help them, but others are vaprized. A short greot runs from one of the houses towards Obidiah and the others, while a much larger, one-armed greot yells for him from the house. The short greot nearly tramples a human child standing covered in blood in the middle of the street.

The greot runs towards Obidiah and the others, assuming the golem is the leader he speaks.

"I want to fight! Do you have an extra gun for me to use?"

He glares at the others in an obvious attempt to look intimidating, but ends up looking awkward, especially with his size, maybe half as big as an average Greot warrior.

"Talk to him he is the one in charge.  If there are no extra guns just hang around a bit and someone will die and you can have theirs. Stay underneath this area of swirling wind and you will be safe from missiles for now." Obidiah points a thick metal finger at Tyirrak indicating he is the leader. The golem stares down at the finger and turns it over regarding his hand in its entirety before glancing up at the blood covered child standing in shock. He thinks of his own children and his grandchildren, all safely fled to Lazlo, and how he will never see or hold them again. The hands that once held children with love and caring are long gone. The person they belonged to is almost entirely gone as well. Turning his back on the child and all the suffering citizens of Madtown Obidiah looks to the horizon. Waiting for the CS to show themselves he eagerly anticipates putting his monstrous hands to use for the purpose that they were created. War, violence, destruction & death. That is his only purpose now.

It happened quicker than Van could react. He saw the blips on the radar, and they just kept coming. To see them at 40 miles and then 1 mile, there seemed to be no discerning what effect his Energy Disruption pods had had. Whether active or neutralized, missiles rained down. The explosions in the sky above the city behind him struck him dumb. Crouched in a foxhole with strange older men, militia from the town -- or was it Salvation? He doesn't remember -- he stares blankly toward Tyirrak. He watches him advance, and suddenly, feeling the security of the TW Dynamo Exoskeleton that was given to him by Tolkeen he trudges forward, finding his superiors and getting ready for blood.

"Pinche cabrons! Just fucking wait until you get up here!" he finds himself yelling at the darkness, as his grip on his rifle tightens. Perhaps it's just getting used to the strength of the exoskeleton, but as it powers up he feels a strange surge of confidence.

Tyirrak glanced cursorily at the greot standing looking at him, as Obidiah pointed at him.

"Find a gun. Take the weapons off the dead if you have to. Stay behind cover and only take the shots you know you can make. Don't get in my way." were Tyirraks only orders for the civilian-turned-volunteer. Then he ignored him.

Corporal Van Fanel, hold your tongue while we are under fire, unless its tactically related. When in closer range, we want to give away our position as little as possible." He said after the Corporals outburst. He was all cold reptilian logic, if nothing else as a commander.

He stood under the best cover he could find, which at the present was Obidiah. His gun was down and still powered off. The soldiers were not yet within range. His grenade launcher sat beside his CTTP40, and Tyirraks only physical movement was the slow, calculated swishing of his bladed tail, like a tiger stalking its prey.

"That's the spirit, son." Vashti cuffed the young Greot on the shoulder companionably, then dug out a sleek Wilks laser pistol.  "You know how to use this?" the jerridu soldier asked, his voice pitched lower after Tyirrak's scolding, "It's not a big gun, I'm afraid, but it should do until Xion and I can free you up something a bit better from the invaders."

Xion grins, "Don't worry boy, you will have a real man's gun soon enough. Shoot straight and keep your head down."

The greot accepts the pistol with joy in his eyes.

"Wow! my dad said you guys would never let me fight. He said I was too young. But now I have a gun! my first cannon..."

Thasha aims it at the horizon.

Xion can't help but grin at the youths enthusiasm, "Reminds me of us Vashti, don't you think?" Turning to the kid, "Stay low, stay safe, and you can tell your dad how you fought side by side with Tolkeens army boy."

Vashti shook his head at Xion's comments, giving his friend a look that said the jerridu didn't believe either of them had ever been that young.  "Just stay behind us.  We may not look like much, but we're better cover than you're likely to outside of Dr. Womble here."

Tyirrak glanced at the kid with the pistol and added one more thing as he stood there close to Obidiah, still swishing his tail. "Don't point that thing at anything your not going to shoot."

Van quickly finishes setting up and activating his anti-missile pods, and land mines, then joins the others around Obidiah. The Salvation militia gather around the second protective field Obidiah erected. Everyone should be safe...

The civilians are met by members of the Madtown militia. They attempt to gather as many as they can, some carry the wounded and they are being led to the church when the missiles break through the intense winds.

Calliandra is the first line of defense. Hundreds of missiles are out of her range, however she manages to scramble and redirect many of the missiles into each other, or to fall short of their targets and land just outside of town. Calliandra is then forced again to dodge missiles coming at her.

Another 75% make it past her, and Van’s missile pods begin blasting the nearby missiles, detonating several of them in the air. They do their job effectively and another 15% are stopped from hitting the town. Many more are shot by the towns’ defenders just before impact. The residential areas surrounding First Platoon are hit again, destroying more homes. Many of the civilians on their way to the church are unable to protect themselves or unable to find cover, many have overburdened themselves with their possessions, and a lot of them are vaporized or devastatingly wounded.

The Lakeside hotel is hit twice destroying small sections of the upper floors. The church is hit just once caving in another section of the roof. Entire rows of houses are on fire, the streets have filled with smoke, and dust. It is impossible to see anything without proper protection, and even still it is difficult to see far at all. Explosions and screams fill the air.

Vashti winced to see the destruction raining down on the civilians.  He looked over at the young greot, hoping the kid would have the sense not to look at the people he'd grown up with writhing on the ground.  To distract the youth, Vashti clapped him on his broad shoulder and began explaining how the defenses in front of them, most specifically those in any direction but the theater, worked and why they were set up the way they were.

The Captain returns after the second volley, along with Toq'toa, Sanguum, Carver, and Archangel. They all make their way to Obidiah and the others.

"This is all they will throw at us for the next while... we should get comfortable... how long can you keep this up Obidiah?"

A full ten minutes pass before the next volley is launched. Robertson reports it in over the radio again, and a few moments later they land.

Obidiah's field holds and First Platoon along with Thasha the young greot are well protected. They can only listen to the explosions to guess where they are landing. With the smoke and dust, and without special optics, one cannot see their own hand in front of their face, or even open their eyes.

The Coalition seem to regulate to sending another volley every 10 minutes, with no sign of them letting up. The sun is beginning to set, and the missiles continue.

"Vashti, bet you another bottle of your fancy rum the kid here kills more deadboys than you."

"I hope they come soon. My father killed his first human when he was 6 days old. I want to beat his record..."

Xion, even amidst the chaos of constant volleys, hears the child's words. "6 Days?... how old are you little one?"

Obidiah's protective dome, reduces the dust and smoke inside. It is relatively easy to see each other. Thasha looks to Xion "4 days in the morning."

Xion shakes his head... "4 days... wow... I must say you are an amazing creature then child. I will do my best to see you see your 4th day."

Shaking his head, Vashti tried not to feel the weight of his years.  "Four days..." he said, incredulously, "Four days from infancy to adulthood.  I wish you joy of it, young man."

Looking to Xion amidst the near-constant barrage of missile fire Vashti asked, voice raised now, "You think the Coalition pukes will get tired of this shit and give us a real fight anytime soon?"

Xion grins that slightly insane grin, "Not if they know what's good for them."

The missiles continue well into the night, every ten minutes. It is nearly impossible for anyone to sleep.

Van stares at the Greot. He had learned about supernatural creatures mostly only from books and rumours, but he couldn't understand how this child was here fighting beside them less than a week out of the womb or egg or whatever bore it into the world. And since the bombardment wasn't going to stop anytime soon he figured he'd make conversation. "I'm trying to wrap my head around this. So, were you born understanding english? Or for that matter what a gun was? Or are these things you've learned throughout your life."

Thasha turns to Van, seemingly more relaxed dealing with him, perhaps due to Van's youth. "I could talk and fight when I was born. Couldn't you?"

The missiles continue until the sun rise the next morning. Explosions every ten minutes for the duration of the night kept most awake, and many killed. Robertson and the radar tower stopped reporting in around 0300 hours. The missiles finally stop around 0730 hours, Major Karno orders everyone to stay put for the next twenty minutes to ensure the barrage is over.

At 0737 hours Calliandra from HQ platoon calls in over the radio "large aircraft is coming in from the east, 37 miles away, traveling at mach 1 at 40 000 feet"

The previous night:
In response to Thasha, "Nah man. Some of us had to work hard to get where we are." As the constant bombing seems to interrupt their conversation every several minutes, Van gives it up quickly. What, after all, could he have in common with this kid who's experienced nothing of the world, regardless of whatever inheritted knowledge he might have been born with. By human standards, Van has grown up fast; enough that he forgets that a lot of 17 year olds are still at home with their parents. And sitting in his foxhole, his mind is anywhere but on family or home -- it's on what he's going to do as soon as those skullheads get within rifle range.

0737 hrs:
Van opens his eyes. At some point he must have dozed off and caught an hour's rest. With his Sustain still active, he feels pretty good, even though he's been in his armor all night. The annoucement of the aircraft arrival excites him. He feels a surge of confidence come over him -- the effects of the exoskeleton, though unbeknowst to him. "Finally, some fucking action. This camp-out was starting to get boring."

Though sleep was impossible, once the pattern of the barrages became clear Vashti caught what rest he could.  The silence afterwards was eerie after so long a night.  He chuckled to hear Van's comment that so closely echoed his own sentiments.

"40,000 feet?  Shit, that does us no good." Vashti spoke mostly to himself, "Hey, Obidiah, think you could hit the plane with me if you put everything into the throw?"  Though the jerridu's tone is playful, there's a look in his eye that suggests he's only half-joking.

First Platoon has suffered no casualties thus far, and their militia counterparts have reported a total of nine dead. The aircraft comes into sight, and is obviosuly slowing down as it approaches the town.

Calliandra can be seen in the air above the town as well, but she is not heading for the aircraft.

The entire aircraft comes to a sudden halt, and the field dents the hull in several feet. The craft then begins to free fall.

"Is it falling? it is falling! Juggernauts take that thing down before it lands! Obidiah! I want you to do whatever is in your power to stop this from landing, use the juggernauts at your discretion. If anybody else has any ideas, by all means."

Vashti shook his head, his white hair moving freely.  "Sorry, boss, I don't think I can hold that thing up by my lonesome."  The flippant tone covered the Jerridu's concern as he quickly did the math as to how many troops something like the falling carrier could disgorge even if it hit hard.

Swords were drawn from their sheathes and held ready, one hand kept free for a muttered incantation then filled like all the others.

Xion shakes his head, "That's not gonna kill em all Vashti, we get to have some fun after all." Xion mutters under his breath the arcane words necessary for his spell, then a brief blueish-white flash covers him and is gone all the same.

"It is too large and falling to fast. I doubt it will do much more damage than was done in any single volley that hit the town last night." Obidiah says in a dull emotionless tone.

Van is up like a shot. "Juggernauts, with me. Let's hit it from one side as hard as we can and make sure it lands on its roof. We want to decrease the chances of survival for its passengers."

Van takes to his turbo-board, activates a few protective measures, and then leads the Juggernauts in an assault from the bottom. He'll fire at it a number of times on its way down concentrating especially on the cockpit, but as it approaches the ground he and the Juggernauts will try and flip the bitch by leaning hard into it from one side, unless it already looks like its going to land upside down.

Van and the 3 juggernauts from 1st platoon take to the skies to engage the transport as it freefalls, meeting up with Calliandra in the air, and then joined by the juggernauts from 2nd platoon. They relentlessly assault the craft, while Van tries to move in close.

The transport door opens under the craft and dozens upon dozens of SAMAS armours pour out into the sky above Van and his squad. Swarms of the varied SAMAS models burst from the falling transport like hornets from a disturbed nest and immediately attack the small Tolkeen air force. They spread out above the town in squadrons of 8-12 and open fire on available targets in Madtown. At least a hundred made it out before the transport crashes upside down on the damaged radar/clock tower.

Shira's face is overcome with insane rage, as he cries out "Destroy them all! Stay moving and you'll survive. I want every one of those insects in the dirt! Every motherfucking last one!"

He begins casting a spell...

The tall Daemonix are soon spotted, and a squadron of eight make their way for first platoon, spraying both demons with grenades and rail gun rounds. They are both blown off their feet, and consumed in the explosions.

The rest of First Platoon and the Salvation militia open fire as soon as they can spot targets. Making all of them targets as well. Carver is spotted first, as are most of the milita present. They are likeweise sprayed with grenades and rail gun fire.

"Look, Xion," Vashti said as he sheathed two of his swords and pulled out a pair of obvious technowizard pistols, "They've brought their toys to play with us."  As he spoke he took aim with both pistols at the squad of oncoming SAMAS troopers and pulled the triggers, his arms moving quickly from one suit to the next.  Though no beam traveled towards the enemy power armor, still an odd flickering field seemed to move through the CS squad in time with Vashti's pistols.

"Get down here you great craven bastards!" Vashti shouted as he stood on the edge of a trench and fired.

"They'll be down shortly spider man!" Carver calls out after using up the last of his missiles. His partner, Archangel is close by his side, assisting in shooting down missiles as they target Carver in his Glitter Boy Killer.

Xion has an odd grin on his face as he stands a bit away from Vashti, "Just like old times huh friend?"

Tyirrak hefted a CTT-P40, and carefully blasted away at heavy SAMAS that came within range. He deftly used cover, leaping between taking snapshots and ducking behind masonry and other soft cover to leaps and bounds between the buildings and rubble.

Tyirrak keyed his radio in the midst of the battle, the throbbing sense of psychic energy being amongst the most powerful he had ever felt.

"Major, I sense what he is sensing. There is a very strong psychic signal coming from the downed transport. Very very strong. A single entity with about the relative strength of a hundred psychics."

"I'm getting the sense that it wants our help. Request permission to investigate."

"Roger." Tyirrak keyed his radio and then glanced over to see who was still with him."

A burst of telepathic messages served his needs in alerting those who needed to be alerted to his next actions.

Xion slings his rifle back over his shoulder, and draws his paired ion pistols, "Let's do this then."

Vashti thumped Thasha on the back and grinned at the youngster.  "Well, that's my number.  Good luck, kid."

Turning back to Tyirrak and Xion, Vashti signaled his readiness.  "Once more unto the breach, eh friends?"

Tyirrak drew them under cover and then wove together a Mystic Portal spell intended to deposit them as close to the transport as possible. He had picked those he figured most suited to the close confines that they were likely to be faced with, the Jeridu and Elf both battle-trained close-combatants.

He stepped through it and held the spell until the other two were behind him. Swiftly using cover, he held his fire, and sent a telepathic message to make sure the other two did the same. He didn't want to attract any more attention than necessary.

Xion crouched, and moved as silently as possible on the battle field. Eyes scanning constantly, watching his own as well as Tyirrak and Vashti's backs, Ion pistols out and ready.

Vashti holstered his pistols as he stepped through the portal and re-drew one sword.  His remaining free hand hovered hear the grenades attached to his web vest.  Once through the portal, the jerridu looked quickly around the new location.

"Good luck Tyirrak. The rest of you hold positions and drop these damn SAMAS."

As the smoke and flames clear from around the daemonix, it is revealed both of them are spilling their guts into the streets, and are half cooked.

"I had nothing else planned Captain, they will be eating dirt shortly sir."

Tyirrak, Xion and Vashti appear inside the parking structure across from the crashed transport. Jelme, and the other members of fifth platoon can be seen exchanging gunfire on the east side of the crash. The transport is laying on its' roof, facing to the north. The bay door is open to the rear, and appears to be the only way inside the Death's Head.

Obidiah does much the same as he did throughout the evening. He creates one of the large wind cushions up in the air, this one at a slight angle so it almost touches the ground on one end to prevent low flying SAMAS from shooting or manuevering underneath. Having provided good cover for the guys in the trenches nearest him Obidiah walks over to the edge of the barrier leans out and casts some powerful Windblast spells targeting the flying power armors.

Vashti moved slowly, for him, towards the fallen transport, following the Lanotaur's lead for the moment.

Xion flanked the lanotaur and his 6 armed friend, pistols ever ready.

"Quietly." the Lanotaur said only before he picked his way across the rubble, moving behind cover and shadow as quickly as he could.

Tyirrak, Vashti and Xion approach the rear of the transport.  (south east of the park area on the map, where the clock tower was) The CS has set up a perimeter and is moving frantically to dig in, with fortified cover, and stationary weapons. Squads of strange looking SAMAS suits, and massive cyborgs split off and head in all directions into the town.

At least a dozen similarily described troops defend the rear of the transport.

Obidiah and the rest of 1st platoon opens fire on teh flying SAMs from the cover of the golems' wind-barrier. The squadron of eight is designated with gold trimming. They carpet the militia and 'wind barrier' with grenades and rail gun rounds, before all eight are shot down as they pass. Six of them survive the descent, and would likely remain alive where they landed, the remaining two light SAMs were blown to pieces above First Platoon.

Tyirrak held up a clenched fist, the traditional Special Forces handsign for 'HOLD'.

He gazed at the transport dispassionately for a few moments with his fist upraised still. Then he turned and cast another mystic portal.

Obidiah and the rest of first platoon fire at the SAMs above them while Tyirrak brings his squad inside the transport.

Tyirrak, Vashti, and Xion appear in a large containment room with strange machines and an odd looking humanoid behind thick glass. Three dead Coalition soldiers lay dead on the floor (in this case the ceiling as it landed upside down). The life form behind the glass is a naked human male, but his body looks like tissue paper wrapped around bones, and his head is four or five times the size of a normal human head, and there is definitely no skull containing the bulging flesh inside his head. He lays facedown on the floor (ceiling) behind the closed glass doors.

Tyirrak glanced around the room, "Fan out, clear the room and cover the exits. If you can shield your minds, do so now. Stay by the doors."

Tyirrak cleared the room with them, making sure all exits were covered. He turned to the man inside the glass, clearly the source of the psychic signature. Time to do some talking.

~Who are you and what are you doing here?~ he asked the man telepathically, releasing his mental barriers for a moment to get the message out.

The area outside the glass room is 20x12 feet, and several machines, and monitoring stations are protruding from the walls. There is one entrance, opposite the glass. The door is open, and the controls for the door on a panel to its right, does not seem to be functioning.

The psychic lays on the floor motionless. A long black tube can be seen running from a machine in his chamber to the back of his bulging head.

Tyirrak narrowed his eyes.

Vashti took up a position near the door.  He relaxed as much as one could, given the current situation, and turned most of his attention towards the door in case there were CS soldiers still within the transport.  Still, he couldn't help but cast curious glances towards the deformed man laying motionless within the enclosure.  He quirked an eyebrow inquisitively towards Tyirrak, but said nothing.

Xion covers Vashti's six and waits to see what Tyirrak has to say about the strange being in the floor.

Tyirraks only movement was the twitching and lashing of his bladed tail.

Obidiah, Captain Shira, his two demons (Toq'Toa, and Sanguum), Carver, Archangel and Thasha move positions after dropping all of the SAMs in their area. They come under fire from the houses between the church and Renford Manner. The houses are mostly rubble, which makes it even more difficult to spot the shooters, of which their appears to be at least nine.

"He wants us to take him with us." Tyirrak explained to the others out loud, as he continued to stare at the mutant within the vat.

Xion looks around a little confused, "Where we taking him exactly?"

"Out of here. He wants us to free him from them."

"Then let's bust him out and get the hell out of here."

Tyirrak began inspecting the tank as he replied, "I'm asking him if he can move under his own power."

He also glanced about, "And while we're here, I was going to suggest that one of us toss some fusion blocks into the back of their barricade there. I have a few on me."

Xion nods, "I can plant the fusion blocks for you sir." Xion takes them and gets ready to plant and run. Xion will look for the best possible locations to plant the fusion blocks for maximum effectiveness.

"Not until we are ready to leave. I will use clairvoyance to make sure the coast is clear." Tyirrak replied before handing the elf the fusion blocks.

OOC : This is not a tank, it is a room with a chair, sealed behind protective glass.

Several heavy foot steps are heard charging for the door. One of the approaching soldiers can be heard speaking to the others as they charge the door from elsewhere in the transport.

"There are three of them inside! two of them are aliens, one is a mage!"

Another answers back "Jendan's orders are no prisoners. Kill 'em all!"

~Get behind me, I'm portaling us into his room, and then out of here.~ Tyirrak sent a telepathic message to both Vashti and Xion, to not alert the soldiers to their plan. As he did this, he set a timer on one of the fusion blocks, and tossed it amongst some of the wreckage.

Tyirrak glanced at the protective glass, and figured he wasn't going to be able to smash it. It had apparently survived two large impacts, so he wasn't going to waste time trying. Instead he created another mystic portal that created a door in the glass, and the second that Vashti and Xion were through he dropped it. He immediately cast another mystic portal from inside the room to the nearest bunker that the company still held. He picked up the psychic and hopped through it.

Vashti followed Tyirrak and Xion, making sure that he was, himself, the last to pass through where possible.  Skinny as he was, Vashti wouldn't make the world's best shield but he was certainly better than nothing.

"Hey, goons!" he shouted to the CS troops while stepping through the second portal, "I'd recommend ducking!"

Tyirrak's squad ported into the psychics' chamber, and the soldiers charge closer. Two grenades land inside the room and detonate by the door causing very little damage to the floors or walls, and several troops run inside immediately after. (Five soldiers in Special Forces SAMAS suits, and three heavy Cyborgs enter the room). Tyirrak bends down to pick up the psychic but decides to slice all of the hoses and wires running into his body first, before tearing them out of his body.

A shockwave of concussive energy is released from teh psychics head when the thick black tube is severed. The energy is not enough to knock anyone down, just enough to hurt the eyes momentarily, and pop ear drums. The other effect is all magic in effect is instantly dispelled. (Any magic armour, invisiblity and such was just deactivated). Tyirrak finds that he is unable to cast mystic portal again.

The timer on the fusion block counts down, and the troops open fire on the glass and destroy it in a few seconds.

There is a large crash heard inside the tranport, where something massive had just landed.

Obidiah notices his protective storms around the town have disappeared int eh wake of the shockwave.

"Carver! take Archangel with you and flank these ass holes!"

Captain Shira then proceeds to put up his protective spells again, after the shockwave knocked them down.

Carver's Glitter Boy Killer Power Armour is showing signs of heavy damage, but it still has a bit more left in it, as Carver masterfully sterrs the armour to come around at the ground forces from the north, hitting the ones at Renford's Manor first.

Archangel kicks his hovercycle into a speed to match Carver in his armour.

"They don't have to tell me to go with you boss... you don't have a choice if I come or not."

Thasha moves closer and closer to Obidiah as he blasts away with his pistol. "We're gonna die here aren't we Mr. Obidiah?"

When the window proved not to be the MD material that Vashti had hoped, but rather something more mundane he swore softly under his breath.  "Godsdamn," he muttered as he looked to the fusion blocks counting down, "Twice in one week.  I gotta stop doing this."

With that, Vashti leapt through the remains of the window, all six arms holding swords at the ready, and charged one of the cyborgs.

OOC - It was very much MD material... it was just shot by several troops with MD weapons...

Xion shrugs and follow his friend through the breach,adrenaline pumping and beads of sweat forming on his evlen head, he smiles...

As Xion exits the glass 'cage' he quickly identifies targets of priority, the spec ops SAMS, and begins unloading on what he thinks is the softest part of their armor, the head and neck area.

"Yes... I am going to anyway. You do not have to though. Just hold out here with these guys for a little while. I am going to take care of the Coalition troops all up along our perimeter out that way. Obidiah points with his large metal hand. "Be strong little friend. Escape from this place so you can defend somewhere with hope like Tolkeen city itself." Obidiah walks a few steps over to where Shira and some of the other men are. He takes a railgun blast largely ignoring it other than raising his hand and creating a snowstorm over the area where they CS infiltrators are entrenched limiting their optic systems to only twenty feet or so.

"Shira I would say it has been an honor serving under you but that would not really be true. I am taking my elemental brother to the northeast. We will cripple the Coalition advance in the that sector and open a door for escape. Let other squad leaders know so they can get some people out of this graveyard before it is too late." Though they are actually in a graveyard it is obvious that Obidiah is referring to Madtown as a whole. He gave his little parting speech so that others could also hear it fully realizing that Shira is exactly the kind of hardass that would gladly fight to the death and let all the others around him do the same. In some ways Obidiah understands that even if he does not respect it. Afterall it is precisely what he is going to do.


The golems large metallic body begins to shimmer and change until he is nothing more than insubstantial mist. With a whoosh the mist rockets up into the air at incredible speed and disappears into the sky.

The sounds of battle echo throughout the ruins Grimathor and the refugees are currently holed up in. Seemingly every blast makes Grimathor more and more impatient. After a few minutes he rises and turns to the refugees, looking to the ones that have helped him guide the rest he says in a low voice Im going to head outside, if we stay here... well lets just say that it isn't a good idea to stay here much longer. I have to do something. I will return shortly, keep everyone here and quiet.

Heading outdoors, he purveys the scene. Seeing the other group, he waves his arms in an attempt to catch their attention. Motioning to his M.O.H., he shrugs his shoulders and hopes they understand.

Carver slows his machine in front of the minotaur, while searching for cover and a place to fire upon the CS squads. Without wasting time to look at Grimathor he just speaks to him with his loud speaker a moment after he opens fire.

"Where the hell did you come from?"

Vashti leaps into the fray, wwords swinging as he engages one of the heavy cyborgs. He completely disarms the 'borg, and slices up its' armour, and hull, yet the cybernetic human still stands. It attempted to attack Vashti several times, but each of his attacks were parried or evaded.

The other closest 'borg moved forward several feet to get a better shot at the six-armed blender. He opened fire on Vashtis' feet with a massive particle beam cannon.


Xion and Tyirrak open fire on the special forces SAMs on the other side of the room. Xion fires several times, scorching the chestplate of the squad leader. Tyirrak lands precision shots, completely destroying the heads of two of the SAMs.

Tyirrak renders himself almost completely untraceable, however Vashti is hit more than once, and Xion is nearly killed. The elf is hit multiple times in the chest and head. One particle beam blast lands under Xions' right arm pit, disintigrating the armour in its' path and melting the flesh and bone beneath it. His right shoulder is melted away, and the remainder of his arm drops to the floor.


The mutant psychic hugs the floor, and the counter on the fusion block runs out.

Tyirrak lashed out with psychic energy, yanking Xion and his arm back towards the room that had sheltered the psychic, as well as tossing the fusion block towards the far end of the room by the door, behind the SAMS and borgs.

"Vashti, fall back!" he ordered, remaining calm despite the now desperate situation, raising his PTT-P40 and carefully blasting at the SAM closest to them.

Grimathor says I am leading a group of refugees, trying to get them to safety but that doesn't seem likely any time soon. Just sitting around is going to get them killed so I decided to come out and see if I can lend a hand.

Vashti withdrew slowly, using his swords more to keep the soldiers at a distance than to take any one of them down.  Still, despite the odds the grin never left the jerridu's face.

Vashti is unaffected in any visible way by their weapons as he finishes off the borg in front of him with a deep chop to the neck. He backs up as Xion is pulled back. Keeping his eye on the remaining CS but glances over more than once to see Xions' condition. Upon closer inspection, part of his chest was vaporized as well, and he is not breathing.

All of the remaining troops open fire on Vashti before the fusion block detonates. One of the Borgs had fired a volley of missiles when it went off and the missiles went off in his face. Something else the borg was carrying explodes as well and blows a small hole in the wall of the room, leading outside.

"Are you ready to go right now super hero? Follow me."

Carver leads the way to attack Renfords' manner from the south.

Nodding his head, Grimathor says I am indeed. As he follows the stranger a large blazing white and blue sword appears in his hand. Following as quickly as he can, Grimathor scans the scene as he goes.

Tyirrak grabs the psychic and runs for the door while blasting at the wall. Vashti grabs Xions' body and follows, quickly behind the Lanotaur. A computer station near by has several hand-held computers on the desk. Vashti puts away a couple of his swords and grabs the four computers before following Tyirrak out the hole in the transport.

They are now on the ground next to the body of one of the Iron Juggernauts that was part of Plutos' air force. Tyirrak leads Vashti back towards First Platoon. They realize they have been cut off by several Coalition Troops, firing on 1st Platoon. Carver, Archangel, and some Minotaur are attacking Renfords' Manner from the south, the same side Tyirrak and Vashti are approaching from.

Carver, Archangel and Thunderhoof engage the CS squads firing on 1st platoon. Tyirrak and Vashti soon join in, and together they make quick work of the troops, before finally rejoining with 1st platoon.

Zor Karno, Ramenhotep, and Daemonis arrive as well and gather around Captain Shira and the others, when Tyirrak and Vashti begin to brief them.

The last of Xions' life slips from his body when the others discuss their findings. A quick look at the computers Vashti grabbed from the transport suggest they have in their possession the maps of several troop movements and attack plans in the area. It would seem this entire quadrant of Tolkeen Kingdom is pegged for total anihilation in the coming days. Theses are the surrounding towns the Madtown refugees fled to. There will be no survivors... unless these plans are in the proper hands before it is too late. Along with having the mutant psychic, a secret CS weapon.

Some distant CS artillery launches again, this time directed at the surrounding perimeter of town completely decimating the demon horde. The incoming CS forces will ride right over Madtown, and the internal forces are regrouping around the transport.

Zor look over the plans handed to him.....if the gave Madtown up to the enemy, and splitm what was left of pluto company up....there may still be a chance to save those villages targeted for anihilation.

Speaking to those around him and knowing they will pass his orders/words on, Zor says something that he did not want to.

"Pass the word to fall back...we will have to sacerfice Madtown to save those who fled from the battle."
