So where was this place, exactly? :) Maybe I'll visit it!
Computers...yeah, they're not NECESSARY, but they sure feel like it, don't they? I'd lose a lot if I dropped mine. :(
Happy July 4th!
That's a good question actually considering how much thought I put into it at the time. I had researched the area, found out what the climate was like, whether or not there was a long enough summer to grow most of my own food, if the stream was strong enough to run a water wheel to supply a little power for those things I could not live without, what the hunting was like. At the time I was sure that I could move out there and survive. I really had no use for people at the time... Hmm... that's interesting. I never thought about that... Likely I would have done it if my life had not changed abruptly.
But life changed, as it usually does. I met my wife, had kids, discovered responsibility.
Now that I look at a map of Canada it seems a whole lot more populated today than it did then. It's amazing what can happen in that many years. It's been just as many since I've actually thought about it.
Speaking of garden's, some were interested in seeing mine. Here are a few pictures of it --

As far as 4th of July goes, does it sound too unpatriotic if I say, eh... just another day to me. And it's raining to boot, can't even cook outside over the fire today.
