Part 63d - Secret treaties

Lexy thinks about Chance's words for a short while, before answering, "I am sure that a way could be found to stay in contact.  You could, for instance, take the painting with you.  I have a means to open the link from this end, and look through it, at any time.  It would also enable you to contact me, as you've discovered."

"It would mean losing my easy connection to the people here, but I suppose I would just have to make more personal appearances, and try to reassure them that my walking among them more often does not signify that the world is coming to an end."

She smiles then, though her eyes hold a hint of concern, "Well, not immediately, at last."

Her gaze shifts to Trista, fixing on the other woman's eyes.

Then, back to Chance, and, "If you do decide to take the painting, you'll need to call the old man back in, so I can explain to him that you're not just thieves."

Re: Part 63d - Secret treaties

The painting seems small enough and would probably fit in Trista's pack if Chance doesn't want to carry it. How does he carry something that is not him? What happens to the external items when he morphs?

And do those sunglasses ever come off? Something to consider.

“I can carry the painting if you wish,” a question for those dark sunglasses.

The internal questions stop when Lexy's gaze beckons and then holds her own. This is something Berd would not allow if he were still traveling with her, not without her permission. Yet, what harm?

Indeed, what harm...

"I'll have to fine tune the song, but perhaps I can just use that to keep in touch. Right now, it's barely an outline. It wouldn't let you look out, but you could still use the picture here, to talk to the people. They need that, I think. What do you think would be best?"

Re: Part 63d - Secret treaties

Shaking her head, Lexy speaks, "That might not be the best way, since I would not be ablle to contact you if I found myself in need of assistance."  Yhen she adds, after a short pause, while she considers her options, "One possibility might be if you promised to make contact regularly.  That way I might be able to fend off an attack here, until I was able to ask for help."

Re: Part 63d - Secret treaties

If Cyan were here, Chance thinks, she could probably just copy the painting. "That is an option. Perhaps we could just take the painting for a time, and return it later. Our Cyan might be able to copy it, but it takes time that we rarely have available on the quest."
