Ahhh, that time of year. . .

I myself will be AFK from late this Friday, until possibly the Wed. after that.

I allways knew Lexy was hot, but this is ridiculous! :p

I thought Cyan was supposed to be the one with the firey hair! :p

Hey Lex. . . Chill out dudette!

Chestnuts roasting on a burning Lexy, shadow Jack’s broken Aaron’s nose.

And though it’s been said, many time many ways.

Apparantly Jack and Berd are thinking along the same lines - Berd's revving up a method that will hopefully allow everyone to help.

This is your show, Jack - we're support, here.  :)

Re: Advance warning

Don't be a dope ^_^ - this is your area of expertise.  What I mean is, I'm all for giving you support, and strength.  Obviously warfare isn't any good, here, and Berd's abilities are...well, they might work, and they might not.  Whatever happens, he would get one shot, and then splat.

SO.  Berd's idea was this - you're the only one who kept his feet, the only who could possibly go against this creature - hold him off.  So Berd's trying to set things up so that the group can lend strength to you.

Cyan, for her part, is trying to get to you, to add trump defense to hopefully stave off whatever magic and such this creature is using on you.  Let you focus on holding it off, or even DRIVING it off.

Of course I know this Cyan. . . But I have to be dramatic don’t I? :)

As a matter of fact I added a little something to my last post for drama!

Well, while we've got the advantage, I say we question this beast for all it's worth. After that... let's kill it. Sloooowly. >(

Keep it coming, Jack.  Dworkin - nice Zelazny references, there, from two of my favourite Zelazny books.  :)

Actually, Creatures of Light and Darkness IS my favourite Zelazny book... :)

Jack, I've likely simulposted with you... :)

But causing pain and suffering is so much fun!! ;)

Well before you all take off to tend to the holiday season, I hope everything goes well for everyone and that the holidays (or coming week) present good times.

Since it appears that we'll be entering a little hiatus during this time if anyone is bored, has MSN, and wants to chat feel free to look me up. My email address is goats_are_cool@hotmail.com.

Jack of Shadows...Creatures of Light and Darkness.

AND Lord of Light, if I don't miss my guess.  I'll have to start calling Jack 'Binder'.  That scene is remeniscent of Sam's confrontation with the Lord of Hellwell.

Kali; heck all I can say is that goats are cool! Okay, so under it all I’m an old farm boy. . . :p

Unfortunately though I grew up on a farm / ranch I’m now a city boy as well. Duality, humanities curse.

Big D: Sorry, no name calling for you. . . That was fun and perfect drama! :)

Cyan: Okay, okay! Now I will have to get creatures of light and darkness, and read it!

Re: Advance warning

It can be a tricky read...and the old, black style cover is the best (much like the old black style Amber covers, and Lord of Light).  It's partly written in prose, partly in poetry, partly like a play...all sorts of mediums.

And it's the usual Zelazny mad romp between genres.

But it has some truly memorable characters and ideas, and it's fascinating to watch it all tie together.  Good drama, too.

I've made a few references to it in this game and others.  For example, you might recognize Blis, and sometime in the future Nobody might use a spell called Starwand of the Destroyer (I think, or something like that).....

Fabulous.

Best RZ Reads (for my money), in no particular order

His Short Stories (Several Collections)
His Novellas (Four For Tomorrow Anthology is FABULOUS)
Amber (1st series)
Creatures of Light and Darkness (my favourite)
Lord of Light
This Immortal
A Night in the Lonesome October

Least Favourite - Anything he co-wrote.  Ugh.

Some of the ones that were co-written (namely those with Jane Lindskold as the other author) were done AFTER he died.  JL was his girlfriend, from what I understand, and she took a bunch of half-completed manuscripts (or even his notes) and finished them.

In Donnerjack, you can actually SEE where she took up the writing.

Didn't like them.
