Re: The blood of Amber

Just in case I failed to make it clear in my last post....

I am NOT looking for trouble or tension with anyone OOC (Leon makes his own bed IC! lol ;)

I don't want hard feelings OOC and for the most part my OOC comments tend to be a touch tongue-in-cheek (in case anyone was taking my Fiona-meets-Darth-Vader comparisons too seriously! lol ;)

If I comment on action or character from the IC threads (and I'm certainly not alone in doing so) or on past history between characters and shadows (and again... I'm hardly the only one to make such references)... then it is purely from the perspective of an outside OOC POV analyzing a situation from multiple angles (angles which might not normally be thought about or addressed IC since game play tends to be slightly more linear in thinking... most people make a choice and stick with it as events build upon that choice).

So once again, I'm sorry if anyone too offense at my recent comments... I've just been having some fun and I've been enjoying the discussion on the potential fallout or backlash to many people's choices.  That means more than just Jacks or Cyans choices but for instance Jonnee's choice to act drunk or Aaron's choice to bleed on the orb or even Leon's choice to attend the church of the one.

Just as I hope no one takes my OOC comments too seriously or takes offense at my talk about different POVs.... I also am trying not to take other people's OOC comments with too critical an eye.  Certainly there have been things stated here recently and in the past which could be taken badly but it is best to try to put a positive spin on things since I doubt anyone is here to hurt others deliberately (heck if Aaron too everything to heart that Jack, Cyan and Big D have thrown at him OOC... not to mention everyone else... he'd be an emotional wreck at this point! lol ;)

Re: The blood of Amber

*pokes his head in*

Excuse me, but if it wasn't for the type of steady progression that Jack and Cyan have been going through as Characters, Aaron wouldn't have gotten anywhere, thank you very much. Before I realized that (thanks, Ron!), I was lost in a fog without a lighthouse.

Similarly, while it's true that Aaron has risen as a character, it's because of Jack and Cyan acting as his sort of direction that he's gained his strength.

"San Anyn is practically dead. I have to get back to Cyan and Jack and give them the 4-1-1. Gotta get to Cyan and Jack."

THAT is one part of Aaron's frame of mind. His Shadow is ephemeral in comparison to the connection he has with his comrades.

A few interesting points:

As usual, these points focus less on the "All Around" scale (I leave that stuff to Cyan, Jack, and anyone else. :D), and gives a greater focus on Aaron's point of view:

1. Jack and Aaron have an interesting history.
When Aaron popped up, Jack was still somewhat new to the group. He had a little more experience than Aaron did, but Jack still had some questionable powers and history. It's because of Jack that Aaron found the group at all!

1b. They're a natural paradox: Broken Pattern vs. True Pattern, Shadow vs. Substance, etc etc. Jack seemed to represent (at one point) a form of physical darkness, while Aaron (also at one point) represented a form of mental darkness. (It can be argued that Jack did, also, with his amnesia, but Aaron's "darkness" was more substantial and hit the group in a harder fashion, if you ask me. :P) They work together for a similar end.

2. The group at large has helped Aaron over more hills than anyone else. (Save Ilsefranvir... and Ron! :D)
Though Cyan and Jack IC don't know yet, it's already apparent to me that Aaron is more than willing to cooperate with people, especially the pair of people who have helped him the most.

Cyan and Jack may not trust Aaron, but Aaron trusts them simply because they showed him how wrong he was. In the end, that pointed him in the right direction. Try to mess with either of them when Aaron's around, and you're going to get a very nasty surprise.

*cough*

Anyway, I just thought I'd blabber a tad. :)

As for Powers and all that, I'm sick of focusing on the abilities. Sure, they're great, but only when they expand your character and add more to them.

Oh, and I never take Jack seriously, Leo. Unless he's physically pounding on Aaron, or throwing around awesome abilities that I want to copy, it's all fun and games.
Hell, it's ALWAYS fun and games because I know Cyan and Jack don't take this stuff seriously. That's why I enjoy reading their stuff, and wish I could borrow some of their talent. I suck at drama. ;P~

As for anybody else "pounding" on me? Pff. I'd have to be a real tightass to take any of their "Abuse" in a serious manner. I love these guys too much to get all weepy over their sad, childish mockery little bouts of amusement. HA! >D

I NEED TO POST! O_O

As GM I should point out that it's my duty to help Aaron over the hills... otherwise I wouldn't be able to push him off the cliff on the other side.

Re: The blood of Amber

Well Aaron that's why I admire the way your PC has developed over time.  Although I wonder what would have happened to your home had you not broken off to return to San Ayan?

Then of course there would have been the troubling frequent attacks against Aaron by his kin which would no doubt have dragged the group into Aaron's personal family "problems"!

I could just see Jack, Cyan and you traveling to yet another Shadow and either Jack or Cyan or even Berd asking, "So Aaron... which member of your family do you expect to attack us this week?"

lol ;)

Still as you say there is a lot of history between Aaron and the others.  I merely meant that while they got Aaron back on the right track, he might have needed the time alone to truly set things straight.  I really do look forward to Aaron's return to the group... a new man with renewed purpose (and a sarcastic teenager in tow!).

Now THAT"S funny!

And of course.... there's no reason it couldn't be true!

I mean we've seen how large and expansive Aaron's family is.... what if they were all "sowing wild oates" before getting bumped off by Aaron?  Certainly Aaron's daughter managed to have some kids before getting run through.  And Ishmael was able to carry on the line with Chrissie.

Then there is the other consideration.... if Aaron is a true son of Amber, any other Amberite who traces his or her lineage to the Royal Family must be related in some fashion to Aaron.  ;)

Heck... even a Chaosite could draw a very distant convoluted family tree which shows a connection to Aaron.

The other eerie idea is that San Ayan runs on a REALLY different time line than the rest of the universe and EVERYONE is a child of Aaron!  Aaron would have to be renamed ADAM! ;)

Either Leonardo is doing things in two shadows at once, I am seeing double or something fishy happened.

Did he really become a split personality?

I think you're giving us too much credit, Aaron - you're the one running your character! :)

I've had the pleasure of watching Aaron evolve as the game progressed, and as I've said before, I'm mightily impressed with how he's turning out.

1. Jack and Aaron have an interesting history.

Here we have Aaron, demonstrating that amazing ability to understate.... :)

Jack, I hope you're taking notes.  This could be VERY important.

I'm still hoping that things go better than I expect them to go when we bump into each other again....

IC Cyan might surprise me.

Oddly, at one point I did consider the idea of having him wander into a Shadow where everybody he ran into immediately tried to kill him.  Police, military, mailmen, kids on their way to kindergarden, mothers with babes in arms, literally everybody...
The place would be an ultra-fast Shadow, where everybody was descended from Aaron's rabid grandchildren.  Over the course of several hundred generations, killing Aaron had risen to the status of a major religion... in fact it would be the religion - come Judgement Day there will only be room for one person in Heaven, and that person will be the one who killed Aaron.

I abandoned it in favour of the teenage granddaughter, which seemed to have much more cruelty attached.  ;)

You are truly a sick and twisted man Dworkin.... just the kind of guy I would expect to take advantage of animals (well... one animal in particular)!  lol ;)

That would have been funny though... it would be a good excuse for Aaron to work hard to develop shapeshifting!  ;)

I guess Kia was a PC decended from another PC.  Have there been others (at least one you could talk about OOC without letting any cats out of any bags)?

I don't think he can talk about it until they are dead or out of play to never return. From what I have seen, it doesn't seem likely unless it is one of the new ones. I admit, I know only who my parents and grand parents were, I don't know the great grand parents level though I have certain things I suspect.

I thought the kill aaron shadow would have been fun and then have him run to the teenager. Why miss out on either torture? :)

Re: The blood of Amber

Well I meant mainly for those PCs whose Players have already left the game.  There have been many PCs who are no longer with this game any longer: Ares, Kalika (though her player might be around), Lexy, Tander, Duncan, Lazarus... etc.  ;)

As for Leonardo... based on how he was created, I have a rough OOC idea who his father might be.  However he never really knew his parents and IC he doesn't know who his family is.

And of course he has no idea about siblings, grandparents etc. ... though if his father is who I think, then he might eventually learn more at about the paternal side of the family.  ;)

Yes, Kia is the daughter of Jack and Kalika, though Jack only found out that she even existed recently.

There have been no other PCs who are related (except that any characters with Pattern are clearly distant cousins)

'Hating Aaron of San Anyn'

'Kill Aaron'

'Get Aaron'

Likely there are many other Hollywood titles we could bastardize for this! :)
