Re: Rumour Control

I'm trying to avoid any long posts, where I can. I want to leave room for those more connected to the scene to do so.

Is 'Elemental Matters' a thread? I think I missed something there.

The optical center of my brain is all dysfunctional. I'm wearing my new glasses. Ow. x_x

The "Elemental Matters" posts are a part of the "What the hell happened to Cyan after she got fried?!!?" thread. :P

Re: Rumour Control

Ah, I still haven't read that, yet. Too much homework and other projects so far, this week. I might have a chance during the work 'week' (Wednesday and Thursday). I'm looking forward to that.

Thanks, Aaron.

New glasses HURT!  :(  Sorry, Aaron.

Yes, there were two posts I missed porting over to the thread, and I had to stuff them in other posts.  Elemental Matters was post TWO.  How I missed that one, I have no idea.... :(

I blame zombification.

Re: Rumour Control

Dworkin, in the 'Betrayals' thread,:
A few moments of light and fire.

Mere instants.

David's voice echoes through the sudden silence as the bubble of calm surrounding Berd enfolds the group around the General, "Now!", and the air is suddenly filled with the whir of crossbow quarrels.

Somewhere another voice is chanting.

And then the Underflow is all around them, dark and cold.

Aaron is there, with Ilse unsheathed and extended reaching for a target that is no longer even there...

Chance, with the strange weapon, wearing armour so similar to that worn by Cyan...

James, bleeding and injured, still clutching Fangmir...

Luke, still on the very edge of sleep...

Berd, burning like a beacon in the darkness, overflowing with rage and confusion...

And Meredith, a surprised look on her face, holding a small piece of stone with a single red spot on it...

And so they fall...

Sorry, just to clear up a little confusion: There was chanting going on, maybe the Junior Assistant Wizard trying to restart the Broken God.  Only Berd grabbed it before he could complete the ritual.  I blame him being too busy with watching the duel.  Then there was David's attempted mutiny adding to the confusion...

Berd would have noticed it, just by the gathering of power in the area, even if others missed it.

My mistake!  I forgot that, and added it to my (slightly trimmed) post, along with a comment that Berd suspects Meredith may be in danger.

It's probably me holding things up.  Yesterday, after three or so years as a lawyer, I had my first trial, so I was dealing with a bit more than my usual stress levels.  I'll go post now.

Re: Rumour Control

Hi everyone,

After quitting and being rehired, I submitted a proposal for about 100 hours of work that needed to be done on the department's databases. Most of it is just updating very old and useless data, but 20 to 25 hours is building a new intranet site. (I may not have padded that estimate enough, but at least I was wise enough to pad it some.)

I'm doing a lot of extra work at home boning up on the stuff I don't know, which is pretty much the bulk of the site. I know a bit, but I haven't touched databases management, yet. (It's a blast, though. I'm working in ASP and SQL, which I don't know too well- but they're pretty easy. So far, I'm making good progress, I think.)

I have finals coming up with a pretty good sized project due.

So between all that, if you don't hear from me much, I'll still be around. I'm just being quiet. I'll try to do what I can to keep up on the game.
