Re: A particle physics joke...

Huge spiders, boated by their massive gas sack bodies, swimming through the atmosphere using their overly hairy legs and catching their prey by shooting globs of web at them and then reeling them in ....

*grin*  I am back from that long extended vacation, so post rates (etc)  might be a bit better now :)

Re: A particle physics joke...

So, am ridiculously busy this week thanks to a PhD student in my lab.  :)  Nice person, just...unprepared.

Will try to keep up.  Posts might be a little short, though.  :(

Re: A particle physics joke...

Apologies for my tardiness, the last two posts I submitted from my ancient laptop seem to have disappeared when I next looked, it seems that anything I write directly to RPoL from that machine, just vaporises when I press the post button.

Would anyone care to suggest currently available background music for this situation, apart from the planet suite, which goes without saying.

Re: A particle physics joke...

Apologies - tardiness here involves me being on vacation, which oddly leaves little time for posting.  :(

I'll see what I can do in the next few days - I'm caught up in most places hereabouts, so I just need to care for my game on Storycrafter and this game.

Re: A particle physics joke...

BBR won't be around for a couple of days, due to a very mild heart attack at 5 AM this morning, I just returned from the hospital and while there is no danger to him, they will run their tests and keep him there for a while.

Re: A particle physics joke...

Who knew GMs have hearts?

Doing okay actually.  Had a small blood clot wedged in an artery attached to my heart, which blocked it completely.  Well, I say small, it actually felt to be about the size of Mount Everest.

Spoiler for Gruesome Details Not For The Squeamish  :) : (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
So they shoved a tube into my wrist,  pushed it all the way up to the blockage, then put a tiny balloon in and inflated it to widen the artery and release the blockage.  Then they removed the balloon and replaced it with a small metal tube to keep the artery open.  Was awake the whole time, and watching the procedure on TV.  No popcorn though.

Feeling much better now, but not sure when they'll let me go home.  They want to do some more tests today.

On the plus side, I have a metal device attached to my heart.  Woohoo!  I'm a cyborg, and for considerably less than 6 million dollars.  :)

Re: A particle physics joke...

Good to hear that you are not in immediate danger, BBR; good to hear that the angioplasty went well.  Thank you for the update and best wishes on a quick and happy convalescence and a quick return home.  Please, please, take care of yourself (and your wife) as best as you can.

And come back to us if and when you can.  This game is far less important than anything relating to your health.

Re: A particle physics joke...

Hmmm ... I always knew that you had the potential to explode, BBR.  This just confirms it.  And I mean that in the best possible way! :D

Use the power well.  And keep yourself safe and healthy.  Please be careful, you only have one RL life.  No resets or redos.

EDIT:  Oh, and this game just passed post 6666, does that make it the mega-Number of the Beast?

Re: A particle physics joke...

As stated elsewhere, I'm so glad to see you're back home, safe and sound.  I should check in more often when I'm on vacation.

...and, as stated elsewhere, everyone watch Forks Over Knives.  Please.  This, along with other things with people I know, is really scaring me.

Re: A particle physics joke...

Sorry for my long absence, personal life got a bit complicated and, to be honest, RPoL slipped right off my radar. The end result though was that I am now reacquainted with my daughter who I'd lost track of some thirty years ago after the break up of my first marriage. Chuffed or what?

Jago, I think that's awesome.  No need to apologize - what you just described vastly trumps anything on Rpol.

Re: A particle physics joke...

I'm with Shui and the rest of the crew... Go, go, Jago!  Glad to hear that you were able to reconnect.  Such good RL tidings are far more important than a game (even one as fun as this).

Good to have you back, though.  Maybe you should get your daughter hooked on RPoL ... :D  Then you could 'see' her all the time!
