Thank you kindly folks. I would like to elaberate but I'll just be stating the obvious. Anyways, I'll try a bit harder to keep up here.

Re: A particle physics joke...

Currently involved in the build up to Christmas, with people visiting and stuff, so kind of hard to keep up at the moment.  Still, I shall try to post here today or tomorrow...

In other news, I was involved in the successful Kickstarter for Traveller5 a couple of years ago, as well as the recent one for Spinward Traveller, and they have my name on their mailing list.

Yesterday I got home to find an envelope from Marc Miller in the mail box.  Inside was some advertising stuff for Traveller, plus a note which read:

A Gift From The Emperor

You are hereby awarded an Imperial
Patent of Nobility consistent with your
social standing in the Imperium.  The
attached card formalises your status.

Serve the Empire well!
Strephon

Strephon
Emperor

Also included was a credit card looking thing, in black, red, and white (just like the original Trav books) with the Traveller5 logo, the words "Patent of Nobility", and my name (with the prefix "Sir"), as well as the UPP of a world in the Delphi sector.

On the back of the card is the Imperial sunburst symbol, and the words, "Be it known to all that the bearer of this certificate is held in high confidence and esteem by His Majesty Strephon, by birth and right Emperor of the Grand Empire of Stars, and that the bearer holds the noble rank and status inscribed hereon."

So there you have it... I've apparently been awarded a knighthood, and a small fief on the planet Ril (Delphi 1340 C565220-7).  If anybody has trouble with neighbours or annoying salesmen, I have a small standing army at my disposal.

A mildly amusing Christmas gift from Marc Miller.  :)

That's brilliant Ron, good to see your support properly recognised.

Apologies for my being somewhat distracted by the season, as of now I have two weeks off work but I think that every other day involves a war gaming or a roll playing session, which is good, and family visits, (home and away), in-between, which is also good.

My rediscovered offspring has been nicely integrated in the rest of the family and will be visiting just after Christmas. I've slotted her in between 'All Quiet on the Martian Front' and 'Through the Breach'.

Merry Christmas (Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, &c.), Everyone!

Here's to hoping that you and yours have a safe, fun and festive holiday season, whatever you choose to celebrate and whatever your denomination/religious leanings!  Best wishes from my family to yours.  Eat plenty of turkey and stuffing!

I look forward to RPing with all of you in the coming year (and, hopefully, beyond)!

Hey!  Look!  It's Saskia, hard at work, keeping the ship from plummeting out of the sky and becoming a burning pile of twisted metal...

Pleasant dreams, Sassy.  :)

Nice One Ron :)

Sorry I have been a bit distracted of late.  I hope you all had a good Solstice and Xmas (as well as any other holiday you might have celebrated) and that the New year treats you all well.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Fantastic Picture, boss.  :)

Christmas had its downs.  I'm still sort of reeling from them.  I'll try to post in the next few days.  Apologies for the delay.

Pasting this in all my games, so apologies as well if you see it more than once.  :(

Actually she's holding a dynamic mode converter (from Star Trek) and a hydrospanner (from Star Wars).  Sonic screwdrivers are much smaller, so she could have one concealed in a pocket.

Yes, it's well known that... certain people... consider themselves entirely naked unless they're carrying at least two side arms on their person.

The same people keep a gun in the shower (presumably in case a spider crawls up through the drain).

But of course I'd be naked with less than two!

As for spiders, nah, those who take a wrong turn and end up crawling up into my shower dies from shock even when I'm not around.  ;)

Which is a pity, since I like spiders.  :(
