I nodded off soon after, myself.  Gone are the days when I could stay up until 3:00 in the morning to continue a posting spree.

*clears throat*

On this, the occasion of his 50th birthday, your GM would like to thank everybody who has had a part in making the last ten years (since he started online gaming) so very, very enjoyable.

Thank you all, my friends.

Congratulations, Ref - may you have many happy returns on this day, and many more fun birthdays to come.  And thank you for running such fun games (and being a great moderator, too).  Cheers!

Re: By popular demand... another OOC thread.

*grins*  sometimes it is hard to remember it is only ten years or so that we have been doing this -  it is almost difficult to remember the time when PBW or RPOL  did not feature big in my life.

Congratulations Ron :)  (and from Ari as well)

Does the air raft have some kind of spotlight?  I assumed that because it said 'darkness ahead' whatever lights Shui would normally have on were no good.

*shrug*  In Ash's professional opinion.... he's seen worse...:)

EDIT:  I've modified my post... I'm hoping that like a standard civilian vehicle, the headlights have a high and a low setting...:)

Yes, I rather think that Shui might have thought of that.  It was why I was asking about spotlights, after mentioning the headlights in my post.

Oh, well.  Best to just move along, I guess.

No, you are right - I overstepped my bounds.  I will edit my post.

Re: By popular demand... another OOC thread.

I just realized that the Ref has now effectively split up the party (and Ash IC has just suggested splitting it up even more)... and now some of us are heading into a forbodingly darkened area with limited defensive capability.

Hmmm...  If you hear screams Shui, just drive away (even though - or especially because - you are the doctor).  Not that the Ref would borrow from the Horror genre or anything; I mean, this is Traveller.  Right? ... er... nevermind...

Hmm -  I might just have to go away and think about what 'world-nets'  might be able to do at different tech levels.  (for my own entertainment, rather than anything else)

When the CT rules came out they effectively worked out mobile phones and simple PDAs.  Now we can see so many more options ...  What happens if we had all grown up with Facebook, twitter, Google World, Sat Nav,  location marking for posts and images - and all the other bits and pieces  that are possible now?

Bah!  They're all just a passing phase.  Three thousand years of civilisation rising, falling, and rising again have given people far more important things to worry about than blogging what they had for breakfast on TwitterFace,

I'm heading off on a business trip for a few days - I'll be back on Friday, though I expect my posting will be somewhat curtailed at that point.

Just to post the exact dates: I'll be gone from the 12th to the 18th, and it's very unlikely I will have internet access in that time.  :)

Arrgh.

Next time, please tell me in OOC, Ms. Crow, and I'll happily edit.  :)  Shui is far more intelligent than I am, and unlikely to make that mistake.  :(

Re: By popular demand... another OOC thread.

For those who are wondering, the Children of the March looks a bit like this (but more finished):

The domed section at the front is a crew lounge/conference room.  The two open cylinders above it (and a little behind) are launch tubes for fighters.  The large open cylinder, just above them, is a gun with a ten metre bore.  Probably don't want to be in front of that... the beam from it delivers about a thousand times as much energy as all of Profit Margin's weapons combined.

They probably use it for clearing small moons out of the way, because its easier than steering around them.

Oh, and all those bumps all over it are weapon turrets.

And those are missile launchers all along both sides of the top (and it has the same on the bottom too).

Best not to annoy the Navy really.

Please.
