Re: Missing Crew

So it would appear.  I tossed out a note in the DM's Lounge.  Maybe someone will come and rescue us soon.

Re: Missing Crew

Since this group is missing a DM now (and because the first thing a new DM will ask is 'whos here?'  I've posted the party details below.  If there are any errors/omissions on here just drop me a PM.   Cheers guys.
quote:
Hunters

DM: Songwind

Crew of the Swyft Wind

Name: Gildor Inglorian
Race: Moon Elf
Class: Swashbuckler
Level: 4

Name: Karol Enzoe AKA 'Hands'
Race: Human
Class: Fighter
Level: 3

With the sun at his back the silhouette of the man who stood there could have been the shadow of a devil or a demigod. Fortunately he made his way farther in and Karal "Hands" Enzoe revealed himself to be Human, more or less. He stood six-foot-six and over 250 pounds of all muscle. The reason for his nickname was clear, each of his hands look like they'd been taken from a giant. If Karal hadn't been so large himself his hands might look rediculous. As it is they only look dangerous. The plain white shirt he wore stretched over his physique threatened to rip open if he flexed anything. His tanned hide breeches weren't managing much better. Dozens and dozens of scars crisscrossed his skin in varying lengths and widths. And several of the scarier of them were on his face though none managed to touch his eyes or mouth. Behind the scars, Karal's face was average and still a little boyish though he was 19. His green eyes seldom blinked but were bright and passionate. He kept his blonde hair close cropped so it was difficult to tell if he bothered to wash or brush it. The only visible weapon he carried was a heavy oaken club though it was clear even unarmed this young man was like a force of nature.

Name: Umbril
Race: Human
Class: Paragon / Fighter
Level: 2/2

Name: Varul Reefcrusher
Race: Half-merrow
Class : Barbarian/Ranger/Leviathan Hunter
Level : 5 / 1 / 1

Varul Reefcrusher is a towering 8' tall, if an inch, with a large muscular build. His face, chest and arms are covered with countless battle scars and badly set bones. He looks like he has survived horrendous wounds. His armor is formed of small shards of bone, tied together with fish leather. He carries a trident.

Re: Missing Crew

I have recently taken on co-DM duties in an effort toward helping out and also learning how to be an effective DM on my own. Eventually I'll find an orphan region that needs a DM and I'll fill that position.

Since I'm devoting time elsewhere plus the fact that there has been so little activity here for so long makes me consider resigning my character from this region. I don't know how long before this region will have a new DM but since everything is quiet right now this seems like a good time to quietly make an exit.

I'll try to keep my options open. If a new DM shows up and the group really needs me to hang on awhile until a replacement PC can join in, then I'll give it my best effort. I wanted to let everybody know this instead of just dissapearing with no explaination.

Re: Missing Crew

I have even thought of having Varul Retire....
Since he could only move to another bubble region (since this is one).
And since he has to submerge his body in water daily....

Re: Missing Crew

Ironically enough your patience may just be about to pay off folks.  We have two potential DMs who have asked to look over both the hunters and pirates group so you may just get your long awaited new DM(s) after all.  *fingers crossed*

Re: Missing Crew

Well if we begin anew or pick up from where you left off is up to you. Tell me what you prefer. I will say that I like a good story first and foremost and put emphasis on role-playing over hack and slash. Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Re: Missing Crew

Doesn't matter to me...
I was in a thread by myself, and we had already casued a lot of trouble and freed prisoners....but the Capn is played by the DM.....

Lets just start with your own story line is my vote...

If gildor is in agreement I'll do that since it's what I'd prefer anyways. Anyone got a problem with me renaming the region 'High Seas'?

Re: Missing Crew

I have to be honest, this character was designed to beat heads in. I have other PCs with lots of in depth personality, but Hands is pretty two dimensional. I suppose that might change later if I were to put time and effort into personality development. And as I mentioned yesterday I am taking on DM responsibilities so I don't know if I can maintain this PC in my little remaining free time.

DM Hamster, do you have any other new players coming in? Do you think you'll have need for a big brute on the high seas?

Re: Missing Crew

I find that even big brutes can be role-palyed and are most welcome when combat DOES rear it's ugly head, as it always does.

I knew a palyer once who had a simple half-orc babrarian. This barbarian was one of the most fun characters in role-play just because of the fact the player was role-playing out what a dumb but lovable brute he was.

"Rog no like." Was his catch phrase of choice.

And no I haven't got any new players coming in just yet because I want to make sure that players that are already here get playing.

As I stated above, if the group really needs me to hang on awhile until a replacement PC can join in, then I'll give it my best effort. I suppose since the RoA standard is 2 to 3 posts per week I should be able to handle that for awhile.

I've moved all the old Pirates threads and players into Group 3, for a possible merger with you Hunters into the new Sea Of Fallen Stars region. The one remaining  Pirate, Lilian Espaireith, may choose to join you.

Hold tight. We'll look for Hamster and see what's up. It's only been a week; DMs have been out by computer trouble and other disasters for much longer and returned.
