It's a waste of time...
Explain the situation to your doctor, and ask if they'll accept you signing an AMA (against medical advice) waiver.  If not, ask them if you're better off doing the procedure under the circumstances you can do it, or not do it at all.

Yes, you'd probably be better off having someone there with you that you know and trust - but that's not always possible or practical.

And not everyone is Picard who can 'make it so'.  :-)

It's a waste of time...
In most places there are medically insured 'taxi' services. I used one to get home from the hospital last month as I did not have a ride otherwise.
I suggest looking in to one of those services, ask the people at the local hospital about them. They usually have a list of them that could help.

Another option, although possibly expensive, is to hire a private ambulance service /ride.  Here that could cost you $300 dollars.

It's a waste of time...
The problem with hiring a private ambulance company to take you is we only do so if the doctor determines such a move is medically necessary. The medical taxi's would be your best bet, as it sounds like that's more their alley. (I work for a private ambulance company, hence the knowledge base.)

Your best bet is going to be to explain the situation to the doctor and see what options are available. I would think any that care about their patient's health would be able to have some resources for such things. And I could be wrong. In your area, private ambulances might do what jdtucker suggested, but still... explain the situation to your doctor and see what they have available is going to be the best way, I think.

I hope it can get sorted out and you get the care you need!

Thanks. I am going to ask if it is possible to have the procedure without anesthetic, it is the only thing I can think of that meets all the required criteria.

Had one last year, not sure I would consider it without drugs...I don't think it would extraordinarily painful, but definitely uncomfortable.

Will they let you stay at the hospital until the anaesthetic has worn off?

I got the impression from the doctor that that was not really an option. I will ask though.

Pack od Chimpanzees
In a moment of weakness for our children's' wants and desires, my spouse bought a pack of living miniature chimpanzees. How's that, you say? Where does one find a miniature pack of chimpanzees?  Ahhh... at the pest store, of course.

There are now five, five, I tell you, parakeets. Adorable little birds that make beautiful, ear screeching, brain piercing chimpanzee howls. They are beautiful little birds, truly. But they make my work-from-home time unbearable.

Pack od Chimpanzees
I hope she keeps her desire for avian acquaintances in check. I knew a couple once, where the wife got so devoted to her love of birds, they took over the entire living room, hundreds in cages, feathers and fluff all over the house, including in the food. I probably should have called CPS, the birds clearly outranked the kids in that woman's life. She openly hated her step-daughter, but the dad was one of those who put wife over kids. Sad... I had to quit being friends with them.

Look at it this way, you've got an early warning system in place for gas leaks. <.<

The over reaction thread. It keeps popping responses and the red annoys me so I have to keep going in and hitting "mark all as read". Not a big deal but come to a conclusion already.

^^ Happens a lot when you check in on multiple devices (phone, work computer, home computer, etc).

Something about the cookies being different.  One thing I have found fixes it when I am on my desktop and I get the neverending new message alerts is to log into the old RPoL and 'mark all as read' then pop back over to the responsive site ... for some reason doing that on the old site really marks the messages as read (as opposed to marking them read on the R.RPol site).

I don't think the constant message indicator has anything to do with cookies in this case.  It's just that the thread in question is seeing a lot of traffic.  :)

Is it possible to edit the theme so that red is not the color of new posts, or of anything else if it bothers you?

There are different themes in the settings section but they change all the colours.  As I wait for my left eye cataract surgery I have white text on black background.  Red is cyan and purple is pale yellow.

Sometimes I just want to not exist for a while. Just for a break. Not vacation. Just not existing. A short instance of having nothing to be responsible for. But then I realize I'd probably be bored in a day and still have stuff to catch up on...

Can't life just have a pause button?

You can also create a custom theme if you want, one that better fits your own requirements.
