It's a waste of time...

Why do companies approach you offering a job, and then it turns out that they propose the same job you are already doing, but in a different place (so you would have to relocate at your expenses) and they offer the same money if not a bit less.... and they expect you to accept! ...and then, after you reject the proposal, they keep nagging you?
It's just a waste of time!

Sad but true. A lot of companies simply do not value their employees any more.

I really tied to make it work but the everyday berating and pushing I should’ve known to leave. It was like an abusive ex you keep trying to work it out.

@yaztromo
The same so that here but offer less pay abs expect you to leave your job for them because....yea it’s evil and ignore them and I wish them luck. They still try though!

There are a lot of games on here Mika, it sometimes takes awhile to find a good fit. It really isn't worth the effort of 'making it work' if they are being abusive. Simply move to the next one and hope for better. I've quit four games in that last month, the goal is to have fun, don't stay in any game where you are not.

That does sound pretty abusive, but I can promise you, most games on here seem to be very nice people. Consider looking around and trying other games when you feel up to it.

When I get the same feeling I got after leaving my ex that hurt me I now know that game was making me feel triggered. Thank you for helping me and giving me the strength to say my peace and leave. They did want to kick me anyways lol

In reply to Yaztromo (msg # 1680):

Yeah, I never understood it. I've been offered to transfer within a single company, to another position, which they presented as an upgrade from my current position, only for me to find out they didn't have a properly made systematization for that spot and the "initial starter pay" they offered was going to be a "permanent starter pay" until they "sort out the details" aka, never gonna happen.

I refused, but another coworker accepted and left within three months, once they realised the spot was a low-paid dead end.

The head of the company was baffled no one wanted to take up that position after that, lol.

Shocked pikachu face!

I feel this daily as an educator (they need us but don’t want to pay!). I got headhunted and they contacted me to try and get me to sign (but not sign and verbally agree to a position without knowing where I was going) and agree to join their team.

They wouldn’t match my current pay and offered the cheapest insurance with more traveling and no pension so I would pay the full amount. They were SHOCKED I refused the second stage because they “wanted my expertise” there. They also wanted me to travel to a lockdown zone to secure it and be happy about taking hundreds less a month. I luckily made friends with a recruiter who privately told me don’t go because they blacklist you if you tell them no. I’m also unionized and they told me to leave the union for better pay....

I wished them luck on finding properly qualified people willing to work in office during a pandemic. Their ads are still looking.....

People are baffling. Sucks that the world is now apparently dominated by business majors, whose only skill is squeezing the most money out of things, and not people who understand the various fields they are in charge of, and how to deal with people.

Ran into this a lot back when I worked for the government, the stress of trying to do my job against their profiteering caused me to retire early.

They were shocked I was not going to starve my family for their bottom line is appalling!!! How dare I want insurance, full pay, hazard pay and transport money when I could brighten students lives? I can’t do that if I’m dead! They also don’t like zoom meetings so drive and hour to hear more about what they won’t give me. I said no abs now they keep emailing me offering me raises but not matching my current jobs salary. Nope not leaving!

I don't know why but I'm struggling with communication issues in general right now. It's confusing the hell out of me because in the past I really didn't have this problem. Now I just seem to be annoying people in general or just failing to come to even simple agreements.

It could be pandemic stress but I don't know.

I have been given some excellent book recommendations but don't have a lot of time to digest them. (Thank you cool blonde Danish girl I do appreciate it).

I just feel like I'm starting to have issues connecting, you know? Not with everyone just with enough people for me to notice the change.

I can understand that there is no harm in offering, but once the offer is rejected, that should be it.
If an application is rejected, it's inappropriate that the applicant keep nagging the recruiter, right?
Why do you feel OK to keep nagging somebody that rejected your offer (and that never applied for that position, by the way)? Stop wasting my time!

In reply to Yaztromo (msg # 1692):

I think they assume it’s an honor they are looking at you. I usually have to threaten some places to stop especially now with covid and jobs being lost left and right. It’s not right they assume they bug you enough to say yes. I had to block four companies because they pulled “we can keep you employed” without even reading my resume. There are assuming you are so desperate you’ll take it. It wouldn’t be the first time I lit an unwanted bridge on fire and emailed their HR department.

I humored one for an interview abs they tried to bully me into a contract in person meeting. They didn’t like me telling them off. Just because you found me on LinkedIn doesn’t mean I want to work for you especially if I didn’t apply!

And my 2021 is off to a great start.

Last year i lost my beloved Grandmother to cancer. This year my cousin has Ovarian cancer.

I feel like getting a shirt from a Co-Worker that says "F*ck Cancer". I know a few with that as a sticker on their car.

I'm sorry to hear that @Rockwolf66, my heart goes out to you, especially when the pandemic is making treatment harder for cancer sufferers. There are a million and one cliche's out there so I'll try and avoid any of them, but as somebody who has had two sisters, and aunt, a cousin in law and a grandfather in law that had it I can say that nowadays the survival rate is a lot higher than it used to be.

As a Cancer survivor in 2000 I keep an eye on my health and body but Cancer Research have progressed in leaps and bounds over the 20 years.  My worry is people who have what they think a small problem will not seek medical advice, and not the internet self diagnosis, all due to being afraid or not wanting to bother their doctors.  Please anyone keep an eye on body changes and at least call you doctors and talk to a nurse if not the doctor but do not let things just go because you don't want to bother the health field.  Covid is bad but people still have health issues that come up with or without the Covid.  You HAVE to take care of yourself and don't put off seeking help on any health issue whether physical or mental.  Please xx

Just explain your doctor the situation, but don't miss your checks. I'm sure he can point to the right solution for your case.
