At the hospital, anyone for chatting?

So, I'm at the hospital. Nothing lethal, just a smashed knee. I don't have friends to chat with so I thought I'd see if anyone here was up for chatting (probably with intermittant halts for chatting with the doctor).

We can talk about anything such as science, my ideas about making gming a serious art like music or painting, or my new setting kobolds. Not sports though. I'm not a sports guy.

I think the first thing you need to do is tell me a fantastical story about how you smashed your knee.

I think swashbuckling is a good way to go... unless you have something else in mind.

I am miraculously discharged. A whirlwind that was. My shortest hospital visit ever.

As for the story,

I deliver pizzas as my side job.

So, after driving like a maniacal murderhobo, uh, I mean an action movie star, I had stopped at the curb and was bent into the car grabbing the ticket I needed, when suddenly...

A truck slammed into me from behind. It almost squashed my hip and leg, but luckily I have improvre evasion and took half dmg, despite failing to notice the truck, I still managed to twist my hips and butt into my car so only my knee and pants got caught.

Still crushed everything in my pocket.

My fingers, alas, are fine, and also still attached.

Sheesh.

Did the truck stop after?

Aside from having a great story to tell in a few years (after the pain is gone), how are you doing?

This was the shortest hospital stay I've ever had, and yet is my second worst reason. Even yearly exams take longer.

You could still be riding high on adrenaline from the accident. Keep a watch and pay attention to your body for the next 12, 24, 36 hours. (I'm sure you already know all of this. And the hospital probably told you again, too. But repetition doesn't hurt.)

When we moved about 3 years back, the first 18 months in the new house we were at the (much closer, nearby) ER so many times with our oldest/teenage daughter that we started to be able to recognize staff and occasionally joked that we should get a frequent shopper card for our visits.

Rest up! Follow those doctor orders! Follow up with your own doctor soon!

I can't believe no one said "at least it wasn't an arrow".
