Poll: Super Bowl

I can count the number of football games I've watched this year on the fingers of no hands.  I know the team names, have no preference either way, and can't even begin to prognosticate on who will win, because I know next to nothing about either team, much less about how they stack up against each other.

Poll: Super Bowl

Same as facemaker.  I just don't care about football at all.  But I might watch the Puppy Bowl.  I like Team Fluff's chances.  Of being cute.

That would be quite a surprise... Miami isn't known for its squirrel population...

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

But...but...I love football! *sniffles*

Superbowl day is an official day of mourning the end of football season, and beginning the long countdown until August. The only thing that keeps me sane is that the other football season continues for another few months... then I have to start counting down until August for it, too. :(

Considering that pretty much any non-American doesn't give a sh** about the Superbowl, and that there are quite a few of us, it wouldn't be surprising.

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

SunRuan… XFL starts Next week... it won't be good, but its football, Last year I watched  all the other spring Leagues   games, until they shut  down operations... It will doi  until draft..and I get to see how my team screws  up the draft.... and  see the FA signings..and  how much money  my team will waste on Over the hill 'names"...

then I  detox   for a month or so  while there is no real sports left on TV, until camp opens.

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

I know enough about football to enjoy it, when I watch it.  It's just not a priority for me.  By myself, there are other things that I'd rather watch, most of the time, but if I'm with friends who are watching a game, I will get genuinely excited by it all.

But my friends who like football have had very different schedules than me for the past few years.  As a result, I've had no incentive to watch it.

I was so happy to see my hometown boys win! It was a good game and most of the commercials were entertaining.

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

Great game, and genuinely great commercials (for the most part, there were a few stinkers but overall they were pretty great). Google owes me for making me cry with that 'Loretta' one, though. /shakefist

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

Along with many others, it runs in GoComics. Calvin and Hobbes, Doonesbury...possibly the greatest comic strips ever. For art: Prince Valiant.

Re: Poll: Super Bowl

when I was a kid, the  big thing , after church, was  getting the Pittsburgh Press sunday paper at the newsstand, on the way home.. the  funny  comics  were good.. Then Old  Dick tracy with the Bullets  going through  the  people who got shot ( one  'bad  guy' had  real long fingernails he slashed  people's throats with..he died on the Moon whe he tried to escape the Moon  base  when he w2as up there  after  Jr's  wife or something. )

Prince Valiant  was great, reminded me of 'classic  Illustrated' as far as the quality  of art.
