Thanks to the RPoL staff...

Because of the current CoViD 19 pandemic, my nursing home is on lockdown. Tis means that my face-to-face gaming group is not able to meet until the crisis is over. Therefore, my gaming group which normally meets about once a month, has decided to use RPoL to carry on. I really want to thank the staff and the whole community for making this a place where we can get together and game rather than going through game withdrawal.

Thanks, guys 'n' gals.

Thanks to the RPoL staff...

I'm not in quarantine conditions (at least, not yet...I've kind of resigned myself to the notion that I WILL be getting this at some point, just a question of how long it takes before it finds me), but I was introduced to RPOL over a decade ago, and it has been one of my sanity lifelines through some of the hardest years of my life.  I had friends to sound off to here when I was in a situation where there were no RL friends available upon whom I could unburden my soul...a boss that was making me crazy, a job that was paying me just enough that I couldn't afford to go somewhere else to look for work, the week and a half of recovering from having a molar dug out of my jaw one little chip at a time, the four or five times I got whatever influenza bug was going around that year...I've always been able to turn to RPOL for moral support and a distraction from how infuriating whatever I'd been through that day was.

In reply to facemaker329 (msg # 2):

This is one reason my homepage is Rpol.
This community has also helped me deal with the insecurities and insanities of life. I don't know where I would be with out it truth be told. Not just the gaming, but the sense of community that is very present on this site.
Been to other sites, tried a few, but none of the others have the same feeling of community that this one has or works to make new people feel welcome.
So happy to help your emotional stability in these trying times.

Owen, its great to see something like this.  This place helped  me through some dark times, and in my , most active game, alot of  his  know we have   a shoulder to type on.

if the game is doing  good, its because the players  come to gether , like  any community you see via  Video game.

and , in all my years, this is the best site, i have played on.

It's great that RPOL can help out, and I completely agree with your thanks to all the people that help RPOL run, but have you considered using something like Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds to meet up online via webcams?

My weekly face to face group is shifting to Roll20 and an occasional gaming group I'm part of is talking about meeting up on Fantasy Grounds weekly to do something new to alleviate the boredom of being stuck inside for the next few months (I'm UK based and it looks like we might need to self isolate/practice social distancing for about 3 months).

RPOL is great but if you can set up a way of seeing friends' faces as well then I think that it will really help people get through all of this.
