What game system is this from ?

I copied this from a light novel. The thing is Many light novels are using this game world system, but I can't figure out how to look for it via Bing or Google - so trying here.

Name: Chase Berrymore Age: 15 Years
Jobs: Halven level 8, Cook level 3
Attributes                                   Pools               Defenses
Strength: 40   Constitution: 28    Hit Points: 68   Armor: 0 Intelligence: 44   Wisdom: 53     Sanity: 97        Mental Fortitude: 40 Dexterity: 59        Agility: 50      Stamina: 109      Endurance: 0 Charisma: 69       Willpower: 35 Moxie: 104        Cool: 40 Perception: 41      Luck: 69         Fortune: 110     Fate: 16

Generic Skills Brawling – Level 7
Climb – Level 15
Dagger – Level 2
Dodge – LevelĀ  9
Fishing – Level 14
Ride – Level 10
Swim – Level 6
Throwing – Level 18

Seiple, Andrew. Small Medium: Big Trouble . Kindle Edition.

There is more than this to the page, but I did not want to over burden it.
I been reading a lot of light novels sense the quarintine, and this system shows up in many of them.

What game system is this from ?

It looks like a mish-mash "made-up" system.

You say "light novels", what series specifically?

ShadoPrism:
Threadbare trilogy Andrew Seiple

Here ya go:  "I was writing anywhere from 1-10 thousand words a day for a while there, and holy gods, it was work. Fun work, but lots of work. I was also writing the RPG system behind Threadbare as I went."

https://www.royalroad.com/fict...ord-and-intermission

Ten seconds with google, search terms:  Threadbare trilogy rpg system.  ;)

The blogpost is 2 years old, so who knows what's happened since.

Re: What game system is this from ?

One trilogy, and the start of another series (which I just finished reading book 1 of said series.)
Still does not tell me much about the RPG sheets in use - the thing is all the books I listed used much the same base game stat system, which is what I am looking for. Not the book parts. Those I have read. They are good stories.

I want to know if they somehow universally came up with a game system that just coincidently overlaps allot, or if its based on an actual RPG and if so the name of that RPG so I can get a copy of its rules and such.

Have you signed up for the mailing list in the page evileeyore linked?

On the sign up page it says "Additionally, you'll receive a link to the Generica Offline RPG core book! This free roleplaying game covers adventure in the exciting world that Threadbare and his companions call him."

Sounds like that's what you're looking for, at least partially.

Re: What game system is this from ?

I don't normally do mailing list as I get ALLOT of spam. Been using the same E-mail address since the late 1990's.
Though that does make it tempting.
Though from what I can tell, the RPG in Treadbare is similar but not the same as the ones used in the other two books I have listed above.
I get they are from something called the LitRPG line of books (books that use a game system in the story line - came across one that uses the D&D system earlier today.)
The ones I am looking for have a kind of 'originated in a MMO' type feel to them.
Which just ups my curiosity even more on the origin of the system they are using.

Re: What game system is this from ?

It's weird, but that looks vaguely familiar. I think it comes from Crimebusters, a pulp-era RPG published in Dragon Magazine back when issue numbers were still in doubke digits.

Re: What game system is this from ?

That game was called GangBusters - from TSR in the early 1980s.

Gangbusters TSR
Designer(s) Rick Krebs and Mark Acres
Publisher(s) TSR
Publication date 1982 (1st edition)
1990 (3rd edition)
2019 (B/X edition)
Genre(s) Historical
System(s) percentile

Copied that from a Wikipage on the game.

Crimebusters brings up a bunch of comic related stuff but nothing on any games.

Re: What game system is this from ?

The one I'm thinking of was a one-off, with rules actually In Dragon Magazine. #67 or so. I just remember it being a double-digit issue number.

Re: What game system is this from ?

You could just generate a burner email from any number of sites that offer that service if you're wary of signing up for something.

Otherwise it might be an idea to ask around any of the LitRPG focused discussion areas online.  I'd assume people immersed in the genre are more likely to know if there is some underlying system that inspired the genre and gets widely used, or if it's just a matter of individual authors grabbing bits from previous works and putting together their own thing that's similar, but different.

Here's a character sheet from that system. Personally, color me unimpressed by it.

Re: What game system is this from ?

I grant its not a great system - but its similar to others I have seen that seem to have Video Game logic running them. Which is part of my interest.
Been looking at the LitRPG group sites but have not found anything that helps with this question, though a few others have asked about it to.
The one in 'So I'm a Spider, So What ? ' is similar in how it works, but has different skills and powers as well as somewhat different mechanics (like Titles can give you bonus skills, abilities as well as attributes). That one has a feel close to how 'Death March to Another World' an anime, has. Which inspired me to start reading these types of books to tell the truth. (Death March that is).
So many of these sorts of stories have so similar style of background game I can't help but think there must be some game system that was the base.
Which is what prompted this thread.
