May you enjoy a joyous celebration of the midwinter festivities (or midsummer, if you're in that hemisphere) of your choice.  My Christmas is going to be very different this year...the fact that I'm still here, wrapping presents, instead of driving up to my mom's place to spend the night in preparation for opening gifts with my brothers tomorrow morning, is just another indicator of how shuffled around things have become.

I don't remember (because I only see it once a year or so)...are the wreath and Christmas tree on the RPOL logo new this year?  Or is this just the first time they've registered in my mind?

Through this harrowing 2020 we have all had to deal with the effects of Covid and other tragic events in our lives. Yet here we are going together into another New Year of gaming and storytelling together.  We are a hobby, an escape, online friends, and always HOPE for each other.

May this new year make everyone here stronger in real life to face what we must to survive.  Stronger to dedicate ourselves to writing with others and bonding stronger friendships.

I wish to take this time to say a huge thank you to every single one of you behind the scenes that so many take for granted as an excellent team and to you Jase a man with a vision so many years ago that is still going and growing strong!

I just wanted to second the words from ladysharlyne. Many thanks to not only the people I have gamed with this year but all the mods and admin staff that have made this site possible and running smoothly.

Its been a stressful time for me this year, I am classed as a key worker, not because I treat sick people but because I design hospitals and this year especially at the beginning I was focused on turning general wards into covid wards. I saw the numbers of patients the NHS had and are still having to deal with. I even had to help design temporary Mortuaries in case the system got overloaded.

To deal with this Rpol has been my escape, allowing me to get away from 2020 for just a little time each day to regenerate my batteries and relax.

It might not be seen as a big thing but the hobby does so much for peoples mental health and everyone in it plays a part in helping people through tough times.

So I just wanted to wish you all love and good wishes for the holidays and beyond.

Keep well and keep safe
