RIP Howard Hessman

Sadly I heard of this one last night. From his legendary role as Dr. Johnny Fever to his role on Head of the Class he was an actor I enjoy. rip Howard. Good night Cincinnati.

Yeah. 2022 is shaping up to be another 2016, but other than Louie Anderson, it looks like we're loosing the older folks that had decent runs.
It's still sad, but there is some solace that they aren't dying too young (my break point of which is 70).

RIP Howard Hessman

Another one is gone.  I remember him from WKRP in Cincinnati, with Loni Anderson, and the movie Doctor Detroit, with Dan Akroyd and Fran Drescher.

RIP, Johnny Fever.  Spin something loud and raucous for us when we get there.

RIP Howard Hessman

This got me to thinking about my favorite WKRP episodes.  The next ones after the Thanksgiving episode were the two part show that was the Season 4 start:  An Explosive Affair.  It mixed a very serious plot with belly-laugh comedy in a way that nothing out of Hollywood has ever matched.

Hesseman carried the comedy part, smashing the phone because he couldn't get through to his bookie to place a bet on "Fever's Break," a longshot that ended up winning.  He then becomes paranoid about "The Phone Police," the "secret Ma Bell enforcement branch."  He makes it all believable and hysterical at the same time.
