I like them both for different reasons. A book is an ongoing experience that you can continue anywhere really, and the different writing styles can change how you view the story and the characters within it, something a movie can't really do without narration or internal monologue. And movies can passively show you a story without you having to put in the effort to read it or imagine the story in your head, and make it a more sensory experience with amazing visuals and sounds. Different stories work better in different forms as well and I'd be missing out if I only engaged in one form.
