The answer was accurately guessed as a dog.  Someone else may post a riddle now.

A man lives on the Top floor of a Building.
He goes down all 6 floors each morning to get to Work.
But when he gets home, he only goes up 3 Floors, and Walks the rest of the Way.

He's a dwarf and uses an umbrella to push buttons in the rain.  That's an oldie but a goodie.  We even used it once here a few years back in the puzzle rooms, I believe.
