Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Transport to Phindar Prime had been arranged for the recon team for later that evening.  Given the trip would take around six hours it had seemed logical to leave late in the evening, sleep on the transport and hit the planet rested and ready.

Darvin had arrived first, having needed to talk to one of the custom officials he knew.  Using some contacts he'd made over the year, some skillful forging by Zyra and some credits in the right hands, they'd managed to get the Talons passage aboard an intersystem merchant freighter posing as a small group of security guards, specialising in transport of exotic goods.  Combined with false permits, it would allow them to carry basic sidearms within the Phindar system.

With everything prepared, Darvin could only wait for the Talons to show up.

OOC:  Since things had slowed down in the main thread I'm starting this new thread.  Please post to this thread when:

1.  You've finished what you're doing in the other thread (Darvin, I've pushed you along out of necessity)
2.  If you're going on this side mission (pm me if you're not)
3.  You've updated your equipment sheet (what's listed as carried is all you'll have)

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Darvin paced the docket platform where the Talons were expected to embark as the final vestiges of Phindar Five's sun waned over the eastern sky, announced by the tinge of dying purple and blues that made their dusk such a unique one. He breathed the air in deeply, loving the crisp coldness of the evening air.

R2-A9 rolls up to the freighter, which presumably hasn't actually left for Phindar Prime yet, beeping and whistling absently as R2 units sometimes do.  Talking to itself?  Possibly.

Beeping what might be a greeting it rolls straight past Darvin and up the ramp into the freighter itself.

Merreck enter the hangar, his blaster pistol, as usual, holstered at his hip. He has a sheathed knife at the other side of his belt. Today, his normally white hair is dark brown, and tied back in a pony tail to be out of the way. He walks into the hangar, then go to lean against a wall, waiting for the others.

Darvin nodded back, and studied the Gungan for a few heartbeats. "Not bringing anything else with you, Aryan?" Darvin asked finally when he didn't see any equipment, at least that he could tell right away. He figured at least check everyone before boarding to ensure that they wouldn't have any surprises later.

Ooc - sorry folks, been a busy few days

Given Aryan's mute silence, Darvin continued, "Well, you should consider bringing your Talon-comm link." He turned to the others, "Same goes for everyone. If you forgot your comm link, you might find it beneficial to go and get it."

He turned to face Sheila. "I'm sure we can arrange something in terms of a terminal," he said to her reassuringly, "by the way, you're allowed a blaster. If you're happy going without a weapon, that's fine, but I'd rather you were ready for some trouble in case things get hairier than a wookie's backside..." he said as Rann passed him. Darvin nodded his greeting and agreement, as he noticed the security kit and surveillance detector that Rann was carrying, and wondered if they had the necessary paperwork for them since they'd likely raise a few eyebrows.

Darvin mentally noted that Merreck, Mika and Xil were ok, and then wondered where Devon was. He glanced at his chrono, "Did anyone see Kimset?"

A cheerful but tuneless whistling alerted the others to Devons presence several moments before the shipjacker came into sight.  Wearing his normal slightly grubby civilian garb, Devon has a blaster pistol holstered at his hip, a backpack slung over one shoulder and a mechanics toolkit in his other hand.

Nodding a cheery greeting to Darvin, Devon ambled further into the shuttle to find somewhere to store his stuff.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

With everyone arriving who was planning to come, Darvin moved forward to usher them through customs.  It didn't take long, as the veteran customs official had done most of his work in advance.  The group were required to relinquish their weapons, which were transported in a locked case in the cargo section, but at least they were getting to bring them.

Soon the group was hunkered down in a crew dorm aboard a cargo freighter.  It was cramped and had only the most modest of facilities, with only eight bunks, one fresher and one wash basin in the way of comforts.  But it was private, and it would get them to Phindar Prime in good time.  It also offered them the luxury of wither sleeping or discussing the mission.

With a roar of out of tune repulsorlifts, the ship took to the sky and quickly broke orbit.

Mika moves over and claims one of the bunks, setting her gear down on it.  Having relinquished her blaster and stun baton, she felt a little vulnerable, but she had her tool kit and that could make her more dangerous than her blaster in the right situation.

She snorts as R2 whistles.  "You're probably right.  If we get killed when they land, make sure you have Cor file a complaint on our behalf."

Her clothes are drab and functional, as ever.  The dark green coveralls are properly worn from the waist down, but she's opted out of the top half, which is now tied about her waist by the sleeves.  The shirt underneath is a dingy gray and fits her petite form just a bit snugly.  She's still got the over-sized, floppy hat and boots, but has set aside her goggles.

She sits on the bunk, bouncing slightly to test it's softness and listens attentively as talk of the mission seems to be at hand.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Phindar Prime - 0600 Local Time

The ride is largely uneventful.  With nothing to do and being restricted to their room, the Talons mostly catch up on some rest as they wait for transport to reach it's destination.

A little over seven hours later, the Talons have finally landed and cleared customs.  The passing through customs seems overly long but Darvin quickly deduces that it is more due to the fact there is a non-human in the group than anyone being suspicious of the group.  In typical Imperial fashion, these custom officers enjoyed making the Gungan go through numerous repetitive and unnecessary procedures.  Darvin did not intervene as he knew that it would only cause more attention to fall on the group.  He was forced to keep quiet and hope Aryan could hold his temper.  Whilst the Gungan could easily snap both men's necks without any real effort, it wouldn't help their cause.

Finally the group was cleared, had reclaimed the case containing their weapons and were standing with it in the middle of the busy starport arrival area.  Even at this hour, the starport was teeming with people.  The group could see numerous tapcafs, public terminals and airtaxis all waiting for business.

OOC:  Well you've arrived and you've cleared the customs area and are now in the main starport thoroughfare.  All your weapons and weapon accessories (i.e. holsters, etc) are in the case one of you is carrying, better watch for bag snatchers!  You have also reclaimed any other gear you had (i.e. toolkits, etc).

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Darvin tried not to look grim when the custom officers were giving Aryan a hard time, and he patted the Gungan on the shoulder when it was all done, and ushered him towards the others. "Alright folks, let's head home, and plan our next festivus," he grumbled. He turned toward Masters and Merreck, "Assuming of course we found a place?" First thing, he wanted the group roosted near the refinery to allow them to register all the hauler activity, visually recon the refinery, and start working out what local affiliations the refinerery had, if any. Any local business they dealt with would be scoped to see if there was a way to infiltrate it, or exploit it as a distraction. One of the first places he wanted checked was Phindar's port authority to see if the refinery filed any flight plans through there, if that failed they'd need to slice the refinery itself to get the flight details.

"Valan, carry the case with our stuff in it, and feel free to rap some heads if someone tries anything funny. The rest of you, I want you to check if there's someone giving us more interest than he should. Let's go."

Darvin will provide whatever bonuses he can with inspire confidence and coordinate.

Merreck answered Darvin about accomodations. "We´ve been on the ground for half an hour, and I´ve yet to reach a terminal, so no, I´m afraid we don´t have a place to stay yet. We´ll get on it, although I would suggest something to eat first."

Devon had been very subdued all through their encounter with customs - his usual good cheer and amiable smile completely absent.  he'd only kept his bad case of the jitters under control by reminding himself repeatedly that Darvin surely knew what he was doing and besides, they were half a galaxy away from certain Imperial officers with very personal grudges...

Now though, the worst seemed to be over.  They were through customs without anyone having gotten shot or arrested, and the others had resumed their usual banter and good natured bickering.  Ambling along behind Darvin and Merrick, Devon began to perk up and pay more of an interest in the world around him.

He then turned towards Aryan and nodded, "I appreciate your restraint and professionalism. I'm glad I didn't misjudge you," he added. As gungan's went, he had never been a fan, but Aryan he liked. Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Walking along with the group smiles at the interaction between Mika and A9 "Are you sure you want to know what it said?" he asks Merreck.

As they walk towards the restaurant Xil comes to the conclusion that trying to identify any threat to them in the extremely busy terminal was close to, if not, an exercise in futility. As they had just arrived, if they had already attracted attention then it meant that something had gone wrong while in transit if not before hand. Still remaining generally cautious he relaxes a little and thinks about what to have for breakfast.

Merreck smile and mutter something quietly to Xil as they walk along.

Merreck sit down in a seat at a big table, as if he was finaly planetside after a long space trip, and hungry for some real food. He starts browsing through the menu with a critical expression, occasionally asking the serving bot what the dishes are. He probably figures their best bet at going unnoticed is to act normal, and so doesn´t much bother with finding out if anyone is following them.

In answer to Ranns opinion on lodgings, he tried to calm the man, so Sheila could be left to do her job, and they could keep their cover. "Don´t worry, I´m sure Alice will find us something good. Once we have somewhere to stay, we can look around for other places. Patience, John, we´ve only just arrived."

"Let's look at all the options, so that we can discuss it with the others. If it were up to me, it'd be an abandoned warehouse, but the others might have some valuable insights, so let's work on some options and see what fits better. I don't want to spend all day on it, but two heads are better than one," Darvin said. "What is it that you'll need exactly for the convoy planning? Just the terminal? If that's a requirement, add that in your parameters."

While 'Alice' and 'Argon' remained huddled over a data terminal, the others order and recieve their meals.  The food is typical spaceport fare, too minimal and too pricy but after seven hours on a ship without even a stale cracker to share, the team are up for nearly anything.

OOC: Anyone getting up to anything while they wait for Darvin and Sheila?  Apart from Rann reading news articles on the starport's free wifi and eating and drinking while your hungry colleagues work that is?  :P

"Very very nice..." he said as Darvin looked over Sheila's shoulder. She had been finding things that he thought might just be very very useful for the refinery hit, but nothing close by that would assist in doing some recon on both the refinery and the convoy flight plans at the same time. Darvin scratched his beard pensively. "Alice, get us more details on that chemical waste disposal factory, and I suppose we'll have to rent a place in Seba Grove... did you want anything by the way? Kaf, zaccon and eggs, or are you more the waffle type?"

As she told him what she wanted, Darvin glanced around to see where the others were. He didn't like leaving her alone and he hoped someone would look in their direction and offer to check her six while she looked for places.

Looking about the store, Mika sees little that interests her.  It's a bunch of over-priced, gimmicky crap.  The holoprojectors where behind locked transparasteel panels, the lcomlinks where more openly displayed and a few of them had elements to light up smoke sticks, goggles that would auto-adjust in dimness depending on the level of radiation, glow rods that slip into little, poorly crafted furry creatures that Mika didn't recognize.

For his part, Devon had ignored the more tourist oriented stuff and gravitated straight to the 'executive toys' section - full of over priced gadgets, electronic organizers and other similar things - where he was now determinedly debating with the droid salesman.  After a few minutes of this, Devon finally paid with more or less good grace and rejoined Mika with his bagged purchase tucked under one arm.

'Wrist mounted datapad.'
he explained as they exited the store.  'Leave my hands free when I'm working.  Been meaning to get a datapad for a few weeks now.  Paid more than I wanted to, and had to argue hard to avoid one with a built in fish-tank screen saver... but its a good model.  Now I reckon we're going to need to head into town for the rest the stuff I'm after, so next stop should probably be transport.  See anything you liked?'

"Personally the way I see it is, as we a security team, then staying together in one place would be the way to go. It also gives us better control over our own security when it comes to reporting intel and planning. As we are not entirely destitute then somewhere moderately comfortable seems like a good option." this last bit said quieter than the rest.

He pauses for a moment thinking "And yes Benjamin, we should get going. We'll attract more attention sitting here in a large group doing nothing than if we head off." He looks around the space port before turning back to Merreck "There are plenty of places to hire transport, how about getting us something that we can be comfortable in for the trip." he turns to Sheila "Alice, while Benjamin is getting transport, narrow down accommodation that can house us all."

"Lets get a move on, lead the way Benjamin" Xil says to Merreck as he stands ready to go. He is interested in what Merreck has come up with as they appear to be going for two speeders. As he thinks about it he decides that two speeders from here would be more than what they need initially. "Benjamin here's what I want to happen. Get us one speeder that will fit all of us, that's all we really need from here. I agree that more will be needed at some stage, but we will take care of that when we reach our destination."

He turns to Sheila as they head to the rental place "Besides hotels, I also want you to check out any residential properties available to rent. Somewhere that we have all to ourselves has advantages."

"Vanlan, let those out shopping know that we are moving. Find out where they are and if it would be easier for us to pick them up."

OOC: I am a little confused, I thought Devon and Mika were out shopping, but it appears that Mika is answering questions about accommodation and transport as if she was still at the table. Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Merreck swiftly changed his orders for a speeder to meet Xil's request and sent the request off electronically.  He recieved a conformation less than two minutes later saying his vehicle was ready and directions to the appropriate terminal.  Having finished their meals and what little improptu shopping they had planned, the Talons as a group moved to the designated terminal.

It only took a few minutes for Merreck to finalise the rental agreement.  A quick swipe of his false ID and a payment of the deposit.  The rental agent raised his eyes slightly as Merreck paid in Imperial scrip, most people used electronic transfer these days.  Unfortunately their false ID's didn't come with phony credit accounts so the Talons were forced to carry cash.

While Merreck sorted out the final datawork, the others examined the speeder.  It was a simple people-mover, one regularly used by people with large families.  It shouldn't draw much attention.  It lacked in special features, the windows weren't tinted, the entertainment and environmental systems were factory standard but it would do.  There were three rows of seats, two in the front, three middle and three rear.  In the back was an average sized cargo compartment.  Between the suitcase full of weaponry, several toolkits and other miscellaneous gear it was going to be a squeeze to fit A9 (or the Gungan) in there as well, but it would probably all fit.

Once they were given access to the speeder, he thanked the owner of the establishment, and got into the frontseat of the speeder. "Okay, we´re done here. Please be seated. While Merreck busied himself with the nav computer, plotting their trip, the others moved to stow the weapons case, their various gear and R2-A9 in the cargo compartment.  Then the group loaded into the speeder, Darvin taking the front passenger seat, the others sliding in to the other remaining seats.  Without another word, the group was off.

Little was said for the first half hour as Merreck weaved through the busy lanes as he made his way through Phindar Prime's capital city.  They passed through an Imperial checkpoint where a bored officer merely swiped their identicards, chuckled at the astromech forlonly stuffed in the boot and waved them through.

Soon they were on open freeway.  Merreck increased the throttle until the speeder was cruising at a comfortable 250km/h.  The trip computer said they should reach Seba Grove in about 3 hours and 45 minutes.  Traffic was light.

OOC:  Well you're all trapped in close proximity for a while so now would be a great chance to share the various information you all have and discuss your plans in relative privacy.

If Xil noticed the face that Merreck had pulled as he finished off hiring the speeder he made no mention of it. After helping their stuff get loaded, he took the seat right hand seat in the first row behind Merreck.

In the relative privacy of the speeder there was no need to use the alias's they had, but, as they were on mission then proper protocol was still required "Three, what information have you got in terms of residential properties. They will be our first preference for somewhere to base ourselves."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

<OOC>

I'm going to assume Sheila and Darvin share the info they downloaded off the data terminals in the spaceport.  There are several options for accommodation in Seba Grove (the nearest town to the Refinery) including:

* Several hotel/motels.  Have the advantage you pay by the night and come and go as you please but you'll need quite a few rooms.

* Rental property.  Nobody will know how many people are staying, has a garage for the speeder, but it will be squishy (largest place for rent is a 4 bedroom job) and you'll have to pay by the month

* Commerical rental.  Could probably get yourselves a decent warehouse or workshop.  Would have plenty of empty space but no real cooking or sleeping equipment.  Also need to pay by the month.

Hope this helps.  I can narrow down specific availability and costs as you determine what you want (not planning to write an entire real estate database!).

A group of ten staying out late, going out at odd times, it will attract more attention. I think squatting in a warehouse is a bad idea, we might be low profile, until someone wonder where those eight people stayed, and notice we didn´t take a hotal like normal people."

"By the way, there´s a larger town nearby, where we can rent an airspeeder for a few days, in case we want to get an aereal view of the refinery."

So while Mark set no time limit, Rann at least needs to be back for the meet (as it's his contact).

Thinking for a moment he adds "Only make the booking for nine days. We do have a timeline to keep. Everything we need to achieve here has to be done in that time. Of course if we get it done sooner, then we can head back to where we just left and maybe fit in some R&R time."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

The time passed quickly as the speeder roared passed towns and cities.  The conversation was minimal and before he knew it Merreck noted that his nav map was signalling him to take the next exit.  They'd be in Seba Grove in a few minutes.

OOC:  Time to push along people.  There's an awful lot of silence at the moment.  From my determination there are three topics to be dealt with at the moment:

1.  Sheila has pointed out the accommodation options and is seeking ideas on wether to book it and where the money is coming from.  No money was assigned for this mission from the Talons (nobody asked for it) so it's all coming out of your personal funds.

2.  Merreck raised the idea of renting an airspeeder to do some aerial recon of the area/plant.

3.  Mika has pointed out you still don't really have a plan of what you want to do.  If Darvin is still silent by the time you have accommodation I'll NPC him and/or have Xil take lead on this.

If there is a reason people can't post please let me know, otherwise let's get things moving please.

Xil looked around the speeder. He had not anticipated that the leads on this mission had not asked for discretionary funds for things like accommodation. As such, he had not brought much himself, just a couple of hundred for some items he wanted to get.

"Ok, who actually brought any cash with them?" without really pausing to see who had what he then decided to change their accommodation plans as well "Three, in light of our apparent lack of funds change the accommodation to two nights only. Also as we have this thing drop one of the hotels, people will have to camp out in here."

He shook his head at the turn of events, he knew that he might of had to take over at some point, but surely not this early.

"I also hope that everyone has thought of how they are helping with this recon. We now have a short time to do it in, so don't count on too much sleeping."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Merreck, following Sheila's directions, maneuvers through the small town and parks at the hotel in question.  During the few minutes it took to get there, Sheila gathers money from everyone to pay the hotel bill.  The slicer is gone less than two minutes before she returns and jumps in the car.  She shows them she now has a room key.

Realising this wasn't the place to talk, Merreck swung the speeder out again and drove back to the freeway out of town.  Remembering a small rest stop he'd seen coming in he backtracked about ten minutes and pulled into the quiet stop.  Nobody else was around so it seemed an ideal place to talk.

OOC:  Well accommodation is dealt with.  Now you can focus on the mission.  Currently you're sitting in a rest stop a about twenty kilometres out of town.  Your blasters and droid are still in the boot (this is probable as good a place as any to grab your weapons and discuss plans).

I have deducted 45 credits from everyone to pay the hotel bill.  Seemed the fairest way.  If anyone has an issue with this please PM me.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

With the groups essentially sorted, everyone piles back into the speeder and Merreck drives them all back to town.  Pulling up outside the hotel, the group pile out, preparing to head their individual ways.

OOC:  Time to break up and do whatever you're doing now.  It's around midday.  Now you only have 1 speeder so only one person can have it (unless they're chauffering people around).  I'm guessing Devon gets the speeder but that's up to you guys of course.

Might be worth running seperate PM's for each group so this thread doesn't get cluttered but again up to you guys.  If you do start a PM, remember to add me to it!

Merreck hands over the activator to Devon, then wanders over to stand with his 'team'.  The others had started to do likewise.  The groups had their roles, it was time to undertake them.

OOC:  You'll noticed I've started PM threads for all of you to keep things uncluttered.  I've broken you up as follows:

Transport Team - Devon
Scout Team - Exilim & Aryan
Slicer Team - Sheila, Mika & R2-A9
Intel Team - Rann, Darvin and Merreck

Obviously you don't have to stay in these groups but they coincide with the rough breakdown you made.  Now if you want to talk to other groups do it in the main thread (you all have comm access (except Aryan who didn't bring his) as long as you don't go more than 100km away), otherwise do group based stuff in PM.   If you need transport somewhere, Devon is the taxi service (on top of his other duties).

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

It takes Sheila only a few minutes to buy her medpacs.  Remembering a nice looking cafe she'd seen in her travels, she headed inside.  The cafe was fairly quiet as it was still a few hours to midday so the lunch crowd weren't in yet.  The display racks contained various sandwiches, pastries and other goodies typical of a cafe.  The smell of caf permeated the room.

Sheila found a quiet table in a corner big enough to handle the other three, should the choose to join her.

A young man walks up to the table.  "What would you like?"

While he waits for the reply he gets onto the Talons comm "All Talons Four here. We are on the move. Keep laying low, this team is looking at acquiring new transport."

"Is there a parking garage type of thing?" he asks Devon.

Mika tags along with Shelia with a "Come on, R2."

Once the medical supplies are purchased, she tags along to the cafe.  Stepping up to the counter, she glances at the options.  "A roast nerf sandwich and some krinkle bits, oh and a fizzyglug."

Mika, not far from being an adolescent already, easily falls into the role of a kid, what with your petite frame and youthful manner.  Ordering a bunch of junk food only completes the transformation.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Devon pulls the speeder into the multi-level parking structure Xil had identified on the navicomm.  He pulled in on the third level which currently had no other people walking around.  As the group started to exit the vehicle, the question was where now?  The parking structure was linked to a shopping centre which would allow a quick way to vanish into the crowd.  Except for the very distinctive Gungan with them.

A few blocks away in a quiet cafe, the man serving led Mika and R2 to a side room where a TDL-501 serving droid sat powered down.  Given the nature of the room, it was clear that 'droid charging' wasn't a service normally offered.  Clearly the cafe manager was just being nice.  The man set up the charging plug which was compatible with R2-A9 and got the charge going.  He then led Mika back out.

"It will let me know when the charge is done at the counter.  Wont take long as your droid is mostly charged anyway."

Devon checked the time function on his datapad.  'Aaand we've not even been here for twelve hours yet, I think thats a new record...'  he muttered to himself as he leaned against the speeder.

He looked around. 'Seriously, first thing we got to do either get you two off the streets or break our trail.  Bad enough that you had to shoot, worse that someone saw you do it and can ID you.' Devon paused for a moment, looking around the carpark intently.  'Ok, so we dont know the local underworld well enough to know where to go or who to trust for a safe house.  So we've got to break our trail.'  Devon continued to examine the car park from where he stood, peering into odd corners.

'Gotta ditch the rental.' he mused.  'Get some new transport.  Paranoia says we assume that someone saw me pick you up and that they're now watching and waiting for us to meet with the others.'  He returned his attention to his fellow Talons.

'If they're watching this.'
he patted their rented speeder.  'Then you two don't want to be in it. I'm thinking we need to confuse your trail some.  I wonder...'

Climbing back into the speeder, Devon began fiddling with its onboard systems.

'Everyone knows about a Speeders autopilot, right? Useful if your not paying much attention to your driving.  But if you bypass a few safeties, then there doesnt need to be a driver at all.  Which gives us all sorts of interesting options.  Like telling this thing to head to the rough side of town, park in a nice shady alleyway and ignore any attempts at external override - force the local law to chase it rather than stopping it.'

He grinned up at the others and gestured around the car park full of speeders.  'If I can get into a few more without triggering any alarms, then we can have them all set off at the same time, headed to different places.  Meanwhile we leave here some other way.  What you think?'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

OOC: For those who know Jamie Webb (which is everyone except Aryan, Mike and R2-A9) this certainly sounds like him and he's saying the kind of things you've come to expect from him.  If this is a trick, it's a VERY elaborate one.

Location: Multi-level parking structure

As Xil talked to who he suspected to Jamie Webb on the comm, Devon looked around for some likely speeder targets.  He saw plenty he thought he could hotwire, however he also saw plenty of speeders arriving and people walking back to their speeders after shopping.  Some were giving the group long stairs.  Wether it was because they had never seen a Gungan or because three people were lurking in a parking bay was anyone's guess.  What was obvious was that they would draw attention before long, if they hadn't already.

Location: Cafe

Inside the cafe, the group sat quietly, waiting to hear more from Xil's team or this new person who they suspected was Jamie Webb.  The waiting was painful as they had little idea what was going on, where Xil's team was or what the plan was.  They knew something had gone bad, but what?  Sheila stared at her datapad but knew she couldn't do what Xil asked of her yet.  He'd given her far too little to work with.

They were distracted as someone called out, "Rick, my usual, but make it large and make it strong."  The group turned to see a man in a business suit walking over to the counter.

"Rough morning?" the manager asked as he prepared the caf.

"Are you kidding?" the business man laughed.  "The police are swarming over town.  Pulling over people, checking ID's.  Even heard talk they've got stormtroopers coming!"

"Why?"

The businessman shrugged.  "Something to do with that alien shooting up the place somewhere this morning.  Something about policeman killed or kidnapped or something.  Whatever it is, it's got the police really steamed.  They're setting up cordons, detaining people without ID.  Haven't seen this kind of crackdown in years!  Think I'll wait it out here"

The man took the proferred cup, plugged a credchip into the scanner then moved to a table and pulled two datapads and a commlink from his bag.  Clearly the man planned to continue his work from the cafe.

'we're runnin' outta time here.' Devon told Xil.  'So what I suggest is this:  set our rental off as a decoy, preferably with at least one other speeder as well - headed some place different.  Then we take either of those two there.'  Devon pointed out his two chosen speeders, a smallish cargo carrier and a people-mover.

'Once we've broken trail we can work out what to do next.  Like I said - I want one more speeder to decoy... a fast one.  One that would make a good getaway speeder - we set that one to run for the space port at high enough speed that it'll look like the drivers in a real hurry.  Meanwhile our rental heads some place else nice and slow and casual.  We'll leave a few minutes ahead of the decoys if I can program in a timer.  What you think?'

"Be quick about what you want to do" Xil said to Devon "we need to move from here asap. We can't hang around for more than a few minutes more, especially with Eight sticking out like a beacon."

He turns to Aryan "I didn't think I'd have to tell you this, but seriously, hide yourself somehow, your description will be all over the place soon."

Taking a deep breath in and out he addresses Jamie next over the Talons comm "Very bad would be a more apt description of our situation. Vacation time may be over."

While waiting for Devon to complete his work he quickly goes over events in his head and recalls the instructions he gave to Sheila. If they gave the cops an area to focus on they might be able to slip out easier. "Three, Four here. I need that message ready to go. Simple details; location that Seven picked us up from, two policemen captured but alive, strange looking alien seen. And it needs to be untraceable. If you need more details get back to me asap."

Xil then moves a short distance away and using his sniper skills, conceals himself as best he can so that he can keep a look out, and so that a group of three standing around no longer draws attention.

Devon quickly finishes the programming on the rental speeder and sets its course.  Without watching it move, he moves over to his second decoy speeder and works on the security system.  It takes him a little longer then expected, but in under a minute he's in.  Quickly programming the second decoy speeder he sends that on it's way too.

With a surge of confidence, Devon moves over to the the small cargo speeder, and gets to work.

In his haste however, Devon sends a surge through one of the security circuits and the speeder's alarm starts blazing.  The shipjacker cursed, knowing that the speeder was likely sending a remote signal to the owner of the speeder as well.

OOC:  Well you've tripped the alarm on the van.  It's still locked, it's alarm is blaring and it will be sending a signal to the owner (in the SW world it seems logical an alarm would send a remote signal to the owner.

On the bright side, your decoy speeders have taken off and seem to be working perfectly!

R2-A9 lets out a couple of low whistles as Mika comes over.

One of the other nearby droids, an R4, speaks back in Binary.

A9 whistles again, a slightly higher tone.    Then, with a 'bing!' that sounds suspiciously like an egg timer going off, R2-A9 detaches himself from the coupling, fully charged.

The R4 nearby lets out a beepy cheer.

A9 rolls over to Mika, ready to move it, move it.  He likes to move it, move it.

While noting Devon's appearance at his side Xil quickly considers what Jamie offered. Their biggest problem currently would be getting out of the this town and Mika was right they needed to get a move on whatever they were going to do.

"Five, Four here, transport for about seven bodies and a droid. If you can get it, then it doesn't have to be 'acquired' and won't be linked to us" he looks around checking that they didn't have followers "or alternatively a deep hole as suggested by Ten."

Talking quietly to Devon he says "Give three the rough location of where you picked me up from. Then tell her that the message only needs that and the fact that there are two imprisoned LEO's there, nothing else. Get the message out on the net, it will be picked up soon enough and hopefully cause enough distraction that we can leave."

'Right.'  Devon stood and watched his team mates move off for a few moments, then ducked into the stairwell that led between floors of the parking garage.  Resisting the strong temptation to run up the stairs (might be cameras: guilty people run) he ambled up two floors and back into the parking area itself.  Strolling between the rows of parked vehicles as if he knew exactly where he was going, Devon continued until he found a suitable vehicle parked in a camera blindspot, spending a moment to check no one was around, Devon pulled a couple of tools from his pocket and approached his chosen victim...

'surely not two in a row with alarms by Get-Me-Shot Corporation?'
he muttered to himself as he set to work.  'No WAY is my luck that bad.'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Feel I need to try and make a little order out of the chaos here.  There seems to be a lot of people going off in various directions but limited inter-team communication.  Part of the issue is the information shared between groups has been (deliberately) cryptic.  While the commlinks are heavily scrambled there is a (very small but possible) risk that they could be cracked.  So being short and cryptic does make sense, though it seems

So I'm going to risk a little ooc info here and try to get the questions answered.

* Devon - You have your speeder now and you will pass close to Xil and Aryan on your way out.  Do you plan to pick them up or go without them?  The plan currently was for you to split up but getting Xil and Aryan out in a speeder is quicker and easier then any other plan.

* Jamie - You are only a few minutes from town.  What are you doing?

* Rann - You wanted some clarification over destroying the ID's.  Judging from the PM comments from your team, the aim was to have them altered or replaced, not destroyed.  So that issue is solved.  You can't alter them unless you have time and gear (which you have neither of right now) and you can't buy new ones unless you dig up some black market connections (which also takes time and is better done in a larger city then the town you're in).

* Xil - There is conflicting choices in Mika's group.  Sheila wants ten or so minutes to finish the letter Xil ordered where as A9 thinks you should leave right this nanosecond.  Mika is seeking guidance on this from Xil.

* Mika - Is it your intention to try and join Xil's group or are you merely waiting outside the cafe?

If you need extra info, please PM me.  Otherwise let's get these questions answered then get out of this rut we're sliding into so I can stick you down a hole of a different kind!  ;)

Familiarizing himself with the controls on his new speeder, Devon took the precaution of moving the vehicle from his current parking spot to one some distance away and out of sight of the original - that way, if the vehicles real owner came back, he wouldnt immiedately spot his vehicle and Devon.

Safely parked in his new space between two larger speeders, Devon grabbed his Talons comm again.

Mika doesn't have a clear intention, she just wasn't able to sit still in the tap cafe, statting to feel jaws closing about her.  She wanted to get somewhere where she could see what's going on, get a little distance in case there's any attempt to surround them and basically try to spur the others into doing something... almost anything.

She'll hang in the vicinity of the tap cafe until the others come out and or readybto move or until Xil's group shows up and she'll join with them.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

It took less then five minutes for Devon to thread his way through the traffic to the cafe were Sheila and the others were.  Xil sat in the front seat, anxious about showing his face, even though his features were fairly unremarkable and the windows were tinted.

Aryan meanwhile, was not so comfortable.  His two metre frame, did not comfortably fit in the back seat, especially when he was lying down to avoid being seen.  As such the Gungan took up all of the back seat but was still very uncomfortable.

About thirty seconds after Devon's arrival, a taxi airspeeder landed on the other side of the road.  From the front seat both Devon and Xil could see Jamie emerge from the back seat and say something to the taxi driver.

OOC:  I'm going to assume someone told Jamie your location.  He has asked a few times.

Well you have two vehicles.  The landspeeder which hold five (though at the moment the back seat is filled with lying Gungan) and an air taxi which holds four plus the driver.  Both speeders have large cargo areas.

Mika & A9 will have seen the vehicles as you're outside (though up the block a bit I believe).  You'd recognise Jamie but wouldn't be able to see through the tinted windows of Devon's car from such a distance.

R2-A9 offered no protest as Mika and Jamie, who had extricated himself from Sheila's hug, lifted the astromech into the cargo space.  Then the pair moved over to take seats, Sheila and Rann already inside.

The taxi driver looked at his meter, then at the group, appraising if they could afford this rapidly increasing, fare, which was currently registering at 250 credits.  "Where now?"

A little down the street, Xil and Devon saw the others pile into the taxi.  There had been no sign of Darvin or Merreck.  Hadn't they been with Rann?

"Oh noes!"  came Aryan's voice from the back.  The Gungan was looking out the back window and could see an airspeeder approaching the area.  It was a standard Imperial troop transport and could easily move twenty stormtroopers with all their gear.

In the airtaxi, Jamie also saw the transport but said nothing, not wanting to betray to the taxi driver that stormtroopers concerned him, though he imagined the soldiers struck fear into most Imperial citizens.

He considers how to answer Sheila's question about Merreck and Darvin. The reality was that they hadn't heard from either for some period of time and in their current situation couldn't do much but hope they had gone to ground. "Three, no sign of Twelve or Thirteen. Unless someone else has heard from them, we have completely lost contact."

Under normal circumstances they wouldn't have left without members of the team and Xil wasn't happy about having to move without them.

Devon shook his head as their speeder started moving.  'One - we're a groundspeeder, he's an airspeeder:  He'll loose us in about 10 seconds.  Two - I got a better idea.  First up we get away from here, away from prying eyes.  Then we change vehicle at least once, confuse the trail a bit more.  I'd like to find us an airspeeder; that sort of speed and freedom of movement gives us a lot more options.  Then I suggest we either go to ground - not the best choice in a small town where outsiders are noted easily - or try to get out of town.'

OOC:  Jamie & Co, the taxi will have you at the spaceport in about an hour.  On an extra note, those of you in the taxi (except Jamie) might want to consider the fact that a spaceport has a lot of security and a lot of places an ID check will be mandatory.  This is a bad place to go for people whose ID's may be blown!  Jamie of course doesn't know this info and you might not want to tell him in front of an already suspicious taxi driver!

'Thats the basics of it, yeah.' said Devon as he hopped out of their ride and glanced around.  'Now, keep the engine running in case we have to run for it.  Prefer not to though...  that one, I think.'

Grabbing his toolkit, Devon closed in on his chosen victim and set to work.

It seemed to Xil that he had barely had time to seat himself in their current speeders drivers seat before Devon looked up and grinned.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

<Approx 1 hour later>

The taxi with Jamie, Sheila, Mika and Rann aboard move quickly and uneventfully across the sky.  Jamie noticed the taxi driver was a lot quieter on the return trip then he had been on the trip out.  Regardless, the taxi smoothly flew back to the spaceport, the four disembarking near the terminal.  Jamie paid the rather large fare and the taxi flew off.

In the delivery van meanwhile, Devon flew quickly towards the main city.  In the confusion the groups hadn't agreed where they would meet but it had seemed the city was a good place to hide and regroup.  The trip out of Seba Grove had been smooth.  While many police speeders and a troop transport had been spotted, their delivery vehicle hadn't been spotted.  Still, eventually the speeder would be noted to be missing, reported stolen and Devon wanted to dump the ride before then.  He knew it wouldn't take long as they were approaching the city outskirts.

OOC:  I've pushed along and taken a few liberties.  The two groups hadn't discussed where they would meet but I've sent you both in the right direction.

Jamie, Sheila, Rann and Mika are standing outside the spaceport terminal.

Aryan, Xil and Devon are in their stolen speeder van and are just approaching the outskirts of the same city Jamie and co are in.

The two groups have no idea where the other is, however, the two groups have just come into commlink range of each other so you can talk once more.

Mika is quick to make sure that R2 is let out of the cargo area as quick as can be.  She wouldn't like being isolated in such a cramped space and she was sure R2 didn't like it either.

After the taxi flitters off, she turns to Jamie, as we seems ready to make decisions, and smiles.  "I'm Mika by the way, though I've been going along as Winni Faraday in these parts.  I'm a new recruit.  Thanks for getting us out of there.  Any idea what went bust?  Or what we should be doing next?"

'Greetings and salutations Eleven, it has indeed been too long since visage of both you and Nine was before our eyes. Our situation is not the best, it could perhaps be described as dire. Difficulties have arisen and descriptions of myself and the one with long ears are in circulation. Currently I am with two others and we are separated from the rest of our friends, although hopefully heading in the same general direction. We are heading to the place where trips to the stars leave. While Xil worked quickly at defacing the speeder and Aryan contined his complaints that hadn't stopped for the hour it had taken to get here, Devon worked quickly and effortlessly to hotwire another airspeeder.  He'd been forced to choose a small four-seater passenger model, though the windows were darkened, hopefully enough to conceal Aryan.  Still, there was always the boot, and after all the Gungan's protests it was a tempting thought.

In less then a few minutes the old speeder was off and the trio were ready to board their new speeder.

Meanwhile, sat in a pickup zone outside the arrivals terminal of the spaceport, the other half of the Talons stood around trying to determine a plan.  By now, everyone had seen the message Sheila had recieved from Cor and Zyra but nobody has commented.  It seemed a good place to quickly grab their collective breaths as they looked like just another group of travellers waiting for pickup.

The question was where to go.  Where was Xil's group?  Where were Merreck and Darvin?  And why was Zyra trying to contact the group?  So many questions, all mixed in with a potential police hunt whilst they were trapped on an Imperial world, with no escape route and potentially compromised ID's!

Guiding their brand new ride smoothly toward the space port, Devon glanced at his team mates.

'So what now?  If our IDs have been compromised, safest thing to do is get off world.  Can't just walk into the spaceport and book a seat on the next transport though.  We're going to have to either smuggle outselves out, establish new IDs or steal something suitable.'

The shipjacker mused in thought for a few moments.
'If we're going to steal a ship, we're going to have to do it VERY quietly.  Mustn't raise any alarms.  We'll need a legit looking excuse to get near the ship - something that will allow us time to deal with anyone on board and take control.  Then we'll need a valid reason for that ship to take off.'

He frowned.
'I remember once, back before I joined the Talons...  we hijacked an XS light freighter by stowing away on board, waiting till the middle of a hyperspace jump and then busting out and taking down the crew.  Good point:  the ship left port with its actual crew on board - no alarms raised.  Bad point:  we were only a three man team for that.  Numbers make it trickier.'

About ten minutes later, Devon pulls the airspeeder into a loading/unloading zone near the departures terminal.  It takes a few moments for Devon to spot the Talons, as there are many groups hanging around, waiting for pickup.  Expertly, Devon pulls the airspeeder into a tight gap near the Talons, earning a loud honk from an airtaxi who had tried to cut the shipjacker off.  The taxi pilot made an obscene gesture at Devon then flew further up.

Xil finished checking a message on his datapad, ensured Aryan was staying low in the back seat then lowered his window and waved to the other team who wandered over.

OOC:  Well the groups are united.  The four-seater airspeeder is parked in a pick up zone (so will get noticed if you're there more then a few minutes).  Aryan is out of sight in the back seat (unless you stick your head in the window or stick your face up against the glass!)

At Xil's instruction, Devon quickly brought up Sorren on the navicomp.  It was large city, on the far side of the continent.  It would take about 3 hours to get there by airspeeder, the problem being they only had one 4-person speeder.  It was closer to 10 hours travel by groundspeeder and longer via any form of public transport.  A suborbital vessel could have them there in closer to an hour but that would involve getting through security.

This information was quickly shared with the group.

"I think Ten & Seven are right, A9 should stay with Ten" he said and then looked at Sheila "Get in Three, we have to move now."

Xil looked over to where Jamie had taken Mika and was talking to her, calling to them "Passenger discussions ended, A9 stays with Ten, Three is with us in the speeder and we are leaving now!" he said in a firm manner.

He was overly tired of the amount of time that had been wasted on discussing seemingly simple things. He didn't know what Jamie was planning, but the drop off zone of the spaceport was not the place to be discussing it. They had an hour to kill and if passengers need to be repositioned then it could/ would need to happen later.

As he settled back into his seat he considered the response that Devon had given to Aryan's 'complaining'. Xil himself had chosen to ignore it for the present but he would be interested in how it played out.

Xil's brain took a moment to catch up what Aryan had just said and he turned to face him slowly. In a moment of incredulous frustration he almost shouted, only just managing to control his volume "IF, what do you mean IF, you are a hunter. That's the skill you are supposed to bring to the group. I'm a sniper, I shoot things, Seven's a shipjacker he steals ships."

Forcing himself to take a few deep breaths to calm down he added before turning back around to face away from Aryan "And you haven't told us anything that we haven't already figured out."

At this Aryan glares at Exilim "...would be the smartest  move in termsa of disapeariing. Humans can mingle and change when lots of you around."

Jamie frowned as Xil made his decision and carted off one of his teammates.  Well, that wasn't how he wanted to do it, but Xil was the ground commander and he made a decision.
Oh well.
"Well, that's that," he said to Mika with a sigh.  "Rann, Artoo, come along.  We're going someplace that is not here."
Jamie led the group to the most upper-class cantina he could locate in the immediate vicinity of the spaceport.  Once there he requested seating and directed everyone to clean themselves up in the refresher units.
While they did this, Jamie took a seat and connected to the net to look for messages again, and to check the arrival/departure logs of the spaceport.

Mika tags along in Jamie's wake, looking wide-eyed at the upper class joint.  She suddenly felt rather out of place, given her over-sized workmen-like attire.  This was not the sort of place she usually frequented.  She looks around at the finery, her quick mind immediately going to if she could afford to actually order anything in the place.

As directed, she disappears into one of the refresher units to see what can be done.  Cleaned up, Mika's still rather far from presentable for such a place, her clothes may be clean and serviceable, but they're still about as fashionable as an Ugnaught in a prom dress.

Coming back out, she spies Jamie and moves to join him again.

Devon drove on in silence for a few moments, chewing at his lower lip and occasionally tapping queries into the map function on his datapad.

'I'm tryin' to find us something suitable - a place to ditch this AND some new transport.  Ideally something that wont get reported in for a while.  Isolated farm or similar with a cargo speeder would be ideal, but I dont think we're gonna get that lucky - especially not in the time we got.'

Devon frowned at the answers he was getting from his datapad, then changed the subject.

'Ok, plans for getting us offworld:  You know that between the four of us we should have the skill sets we need to pull this off right?  All we gotta do is think up a plan.  How about we work on that idea I mentioned earlier?  Smuggle ourselves onto a ship then take it over midflight?'  Devon looked at Sheila via the rearview.  'You be able to slice cargo manifests so we can smuggle ourselves on board that way?  Or somethin' similar?'

He looked around briefly and then continued "I also have a feeling that Nine might have things for us to do, before we get to that point though. Something else to consider."

He thought about the rest of the team and hoped that Jamie had a plan for them. He knew that they had left the spaceport abruptly but they had tended to linger for too long in recent times.

"As for what we do now, well we have the hour. If we have no luck getting more appropriate transport for the group then we head to Sorren. In the mean time Three, see if you can details on what transport options the others will have."

<Xil, Devon, Sheila, Aryan>
Following Xil's instructions, Devon lifted the airspeeder from the ground and set it on the course for Sorren he'd already programmed during the hour they were waiting.  Finding a quiet atmospheric slot, he activated the speeder's autopilot and then relaxed.  Estimated time of travel was two hours, fifty minutes.

<Jamie, Mika, Rann, R2-A9>
In the hotel, while Jamie continued to stare at his datapad, Rann pulled up the public transport information.  Their best bet was a hovertrain.  There was one heading to Sorren in an hour.  The trip would take about six hours.  The other option was a suborbital shuttle which could have them in Sorren in less than an hour but it required ID to get on board.  While Jamie's ID was certainly clean, it was a guess as to wether Mika's and Rann's were still safe.

OOC:  Remember your comms have a 100km range so at present you'll lose comms with each other in about 15 minutes.

*FOUR HOURS LATER*

Having caught up with Mika and A9, Jamie explained that he would rent them a speeder and they'd head for Sorren.  True to his word, the demolitionist had found a rental place and even managed to sweet talk the receptionist into letting him hire an airspeeder, despite his lack of licence.  This had meant that his group had only been half an hour behind Xil's group in departing Sorren.

Both groups made good time and Xil's group arrived in Sorren just under three hours later.  An hour passed in finding a quiet motel in which they could arrange a few rooms and regroup.  Now the Talons were together again, sitting around a table in a smallish motel room, planning what to do.

OOC:  In an effort to push things along I've ignored the need for licences and the like and Jamie has hired an aispeeder.  Now all the Talons are in a motel in Sorren (you have two rooms, each sleeps 4).  It's late afternoon.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

When they had all gathered Xil took a few moments to send a message to Zrya

He looks up and quickly surveys the group "I've contacted Nine and am waiting a response. Hopefully she won't be too long in getting back to us."

"The mission was to get supplies and while on planet get intel on the refinery so that we could plan a hit on it some time in the future. I believe Six may be able to give you ore details on the supplies."

He settles a little more in his seat and continues "As for what went wrong, that was my mistake and lack of judgement. Eight and I were dropped off in an industrial sector near the refinery so we could scout the area. As you know Eight is fairly distinctive in his appearance and we didn't consider just how xenophobic the locals would be. A group of workers targeted and obviously wanted to attack Eight & probably myself for been with him. Eight was going to show them the folly of that and I chose on the spur of the moment to stun one. From there things went down hill and law enforcement became involved. It is possible that our ID's are compromised if the law has joined the dots and connected us to Eight from when we arrived, as we did so together. That leads us to where we are at the moment."

He had left out some of the details, the more intuitive of the Talons would pick up that things were missing. He had decided in the course of reflection that the initial error had been his (even allowing Aryan to come on the mission given how xenophobic Imperial worlds could be)and that that should be the focus for the moment.

Xil looked around at the gathered Talons, he had been expecting questions clarifying what he had said, nothing had been forthcoming. As silence would not get them anywhere he issued some instructions.

"Six, you're our black market guy, see what you can find out about getting new ID's if we need them and possible smuggler ships we could use to get off world. Three, see if you can locate a discrete spot to do a bit of slicing." He considered the talents of the other Talons and how to best use them, but didn't pass on any other orders for the moment.

He checked his datapad to see if Zyra had responded to his message, not that he expected much as he hadn't heard a 'ping' yet.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Whilst Xil's datapad failed to ping, his commlink gave a resounding chime.  Flicking it on he heard Zyra's voice.

"Nine, calling any Talon, over."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

"Good to hear your voice too Four.  Glad you're all safe.  We'll debrief later as I have some urgent tasks for you to do."

"Firstly, let me say that Eleven and I are also in Sorren on our own business.  Your timing is mose fortitous as we can assist your departure while furthering our plans.  I'll need you to manage three objectives for us and I need you on them immediately, they are time critical."

"Firstly, we need you to cause some chaos and destruction.  I'm sure Five will be suited to leading that team.  What we need is a reign of terror against Senator Foluc, the government's energy minister.  Now I don't want him dead, but I want it to look like some second-rate terror group is trying to do that.  Attack his car, bomb his office, cause a riot at his meetings.  Just make it seem like someone wants him dead.  I'm forwarding you his itinerary."

"Team two, will be right up Seven's alley so give it to him.  We need you to acquire a space transport.  Nothing to exotic, just a small, run of the mill passenger craft.  You have to take it quietly as it will be used to evac us all.  I'll send you some starship id's to overlay the existing ones.  They'll get us offworld."

"Finally, we've discovered that an anti-Imperial cell in Sorren is going to be raided soon.  We need to warn them and help them escape.  This cell is all non-human so send Eight as they're more likely to trust him.  Send one other to assist him, but it should be little more then helping them move before Imperials show up.  Co-ordinates attached."

"Four, I want you to co-ordinate the three teams.  Eleven is sending the data to you now.  Any questions, but be brief, Eleven and I are risking our covers talking to you."

A 'ping' comes from Xil's datapad, and true to her word, there is three datafiles.  One is the day's itenerary for the Senator, another is a set of false starship ID's and the third is an address about fiften minutes away by airspeeder.

OOC:  Note it's now mid-late afternoon and Zyra wants this all done today!  Need to plan and implement quickly!  Don't forget you also only have two airspeeders (one stolen, one rented)

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Before reading the data file thoroughly, Xil turns to Rann & Sheila "Change of plans by the look of it, give me a minute to reallocate."

He mentally makes a note of the 'team leaders' that Zyra mentioned while taking a moment to read the data files more carefully, especially the Senator's itinerary.

He looks up at the gathered Talons and says "Alright, Nine has given us our orders and she's stressed that we need to act quickly. To that effect, these are the teams; Seven, Ten and A9 will acquire us a ship to get off world" he sends the false starship ID's to Devons datapad as he speaks.

"Eight and Three, get to that anti-imperial cell as quick as you can" he continues as he hands Aryan the address Zyra sent through.

"That leaves Five, Six & myself to harass the Senator."

Quickly reviewing the team allocations before continuing he decides that they should work effectively together. "Eight take the acquired speeder, the rest of us will work out how we will manage with Five's rented one. Time to move everyone, can't keep the XO waiting."

He moves to show Jamie and Rann the Senator's itinerary.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Since you're all still together, I'll post all of the datapad information here so you can go over it even if you're not in the group.

Team 1 - Destruction Team (Jamie, Xil, Rann)

The file for you guys holds a picture of Senator Nirac Foluk the Third.  It includes a brief bio, list his place of residence and where his office is.  It also lists his full itinerary for today.  Starting form right now (it's about 1445):

1400-1600 - Cabinet Meeting with Energy Council (Senate Building)
1600-1630 - Meeting with chair of Electricity Council
1630-1700 - Meeting with Minister for Transport
1700-1715 - Travel to Imperial Hotel for function
1715-1800 - Appear at function

The rest of his day has been left free and the next day is also free.  Apparently the Senator plans to take some time off.

Appended to the itinerary is a note from Zyra.

'Do not kill this man.  He has more value to us alive.  But we need you to attack either him or his position.  You will pose as members of the Homosuperior organisation, a hardline, anti-alien movement.  You will spread work that the Senator is an alien lover.  I've attached a few holos that will help.  We need this man fearful for his life and facing a scandal by tonight.  Blow something up, snipe at his limo, spread copies of the holos I'm sending, whatever you can.  Good luck!

The holos are shots of the Senator getting 'friendly' with various alien females; a Twilek, a Zeltron and a few others.  Mostly hugging or kissing, but a few more 'intimate' shots.

Team 2 - Shipjacking Team (Devon, Mika, R2-A9)

The file contains a shipping ID and IFF codes.  Zyra has attached a note.

'Need a small, non-distinctive transport.  One that could be a private charter arranged at short notice.  I will have our exit passes prepared for us so that we bypass security and customs.  Just make sure you have the transport and quietly.  We'll likely need this transport either tonight or tomorrow morning latest.'

Team 3 - Diplomatic Team (Aryan and Sheila)

There is just an address and a note.

'I have recieved reliable intelligence that a group of alien protesters will be raided by Imperials tonight.  These aliens are not terrorists, they merely argue that they deserve equal rights.  Get to them before this evening, convince them to move out and render what assistance you can.  They are understandable very xenophobic towards humans so Eight, being the only non-human in your team, will need to earn their trust.  See them safely to another location.'

You know all have your own threads to post in.  You can post here if you want to quickly discuss anything with members of other teams.  Otherwise get to it.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

While coming up with ideas with his designated team, Xil keeps in mind that he is actually pushing all three teams to get moving quickly. He looks around to ensure that all teams are at least starting to plan as a group. He will give a little more time before pushing the teams out the door.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Xil notes that time is slipping away as the teams discuss their ideas. Though preferring to have more defined plans before moving out, they have a deadline for all three missions. Planning will have to be done on the move.

"All teams listen up." he says out aloud "We don't have the luxury of long planning discussions so you'll have to do some planning on the go. Once the shipjacking team have a vessel they'll let us know where to rendezvous. Let's move out and get these jobs done."

He checks his gear as he heads for the door pausing only long enough to ask Devon "Where do you want your team dropped off?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Okay, I have seperated the three teams now as follows:

Diplomatic Team - Aryan & Sheila - Near Alien Safehouse
Destruction Team - Jamie, Xil & Rann - Near Imperial Hotel
Shipjacking Team - Devon, Mika & R2-A9 - Near commercial spaceport (the central one)

From now on post in your own groups and to your own team members only.  Use this thread only if you plan to use your commlink to contact the other teams.  To clarify, this thread is only if you're talking to the other teams via commlink, else you use your own thread!
