Xil looks down to where Devon was indicating "Alrighty then, lets get a new ride."

He gets ready to leave their current ride in a very vandalised state.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

While Xil worked quickly at defacing the speeder and Aryan contined his complaints that hadn't stopped for the hour it had taken to get here, Devon worked quickly and effortlessly to hotwire another airspeeder.  He'd been forced to choose a small four-seater passenger model, though the windows were darkened, hopefully enough to conceal Aryan.  Still, there was always the boot, and after all the Gungan's protests it was a tempting thought.

In less then a few minutes the old speeder was off and the trio were ready to board their new speeder.

Meanwhile, sat in a pickup zone outside the arrivals terminal of the spaceport, the other half of the Talons stood around trying to determine a plan.  By now, everyone had seen the message Sheila had recieved from Cor and Zyra but nobody has commented.  It seemed a good place to quickly grab their collective breaths as they looked like just another group of travellers waiting for pickup.

The question was where to go.  Where was Xil's group?  Where were Merreck and Darvin?  And why was Zyra trying to contact the group?  So many questions, all mixed in with a potential police hunt whilst they were trapped on an Imperial world, with no escape route and potentially compromised ID's!

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Now that they had changes rides Xil breathed a little easier, hopefully it would be that bit harder to track them (if indeed they had been) now that they had made the switch.

As they had reached the city he decides to try his luck with the Talons secure comm "Four to any Talon able to receive, sitrep. We are currently heading to the spaceport."

While waiting for a reply he once again checks the police comm to determine if they had been followed and where the search was up to.

"Understood Six, keep me informed of the travel plans." Xil replied.

To Devon and Aryan "Looks like they are at the arrivals entrance so lets head for there until we hear otherwise."

Mika looks to the others, wondering when the rest of the team would show up, and maybe they could speak to what the hell went wrong.  But the biggest issue right now seemed to be getting everyone off planet.

"So, what's our plan?  We got transportation or we flying commercial?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Guiding their brand new ride smoothly toward the space port, Devon glanced at his team mates.

'So what now?  If our IDs have been compromised, safest thing to do is get off world.  Can't just walk into the spaceport and book a seat on the next transport though.  We're going to have to either smuggle outselves out, establish new IDs or steal something suitable.'

The shipjacker mused in thought for a few moments.
'If we're going to steal a ship, we're going to have to do it VERY quietly.  Mustn't raise any alarms.  We'll need a legit looking excuse to get near the ship - something that will allow us time to deal with anyone on board and take control.  Then we'll need a valid reason for that ship to take off.'

He frowned.
'I remember once, back before I joined the Talons...  we hijacked an XS light freighter by stowing away on board, waiting till the middle of a hyperspace jump and then busting out and taking down the crew.  Good point:  the ship left port with its actual crew on board - no alarms raised.  Bad point:  we were only a three man team for that.  Numbers make it trickier.'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

About ten minutes later, Devon pulls the airspeeder into a loading/unloading zone near the departures terminal.  It takes a few moments for Devon to spot the Talons, as there are many groups hanging around, waiting for pickup.  Expertly, Devon pulls the airspeeder into a tight gap near the Talons, earning a loud honk from an airtaxi who had tried to cut the shipjacker off.  The taxi pilot made an obscene gesture at Devon then flew further up.

Xil finished checking a message on his datapad, ensured Aryan was staying low in the back seat then lowered his window and waved to the other team who wandered over.

OOC:  Well the groups are united.  The four-seater airspeeder is parked in a pick up zone (so will get noticed if you're there more then a few minutes).  Aryan is out of sight in the back seat (unless you stick your head in the window or stick your face up against the glass!)

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

As the rest of the Talons approached the speeder Xil said to Devon "Message from Nine, looks like Sorren will be our new destination, can you quickly look it up in the navcomp."

He then turned to the rest of the team as they had arrived at Xil's window "Good to see you are all safe. We don't have much time in this spot so this will be quick. Message from Nine, we need to make our way to Sorren, Seven is quickly checking it out. We have space for one more in this speeder. The rest of you will need to get there somehow. Questions?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Mika nods, "Yeah, where's Sorren?"  She figures maybe one of the others might know the geography better than her, but so far she'd just managed to follow along and, most importantly, not get shot at.  That puts her a step up on a few of the others.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

At Xil's instruction, Devon quickly brought up Sorren on the navicomp.  It was large city, on the far side of the continent.  It would take about 3 hours to get there by airspeeder, the problem being they only had one 4-person speeder.  It was closer to 10 hours travel by groundspeeder and longer via any form of public transport.  A suborbital vessel could have them there in closer to an hour but that would involve getting through security.

This information was quickly shared with the group.

Jamie counted heads quickly.
"I'll take Mika, Rann, and Sheila with me; you take the droid.  Give me an hour here in this city.  Lay low and don't cause any trouble.  If I can find us a faster, more secure ticket to Sorren I will contact you.  If not, you get your team to Sorren and I will meet you there.  If we should lose contact or you have to bail, rendezvous in Sorren no later than twenty-four hours from now."
He glanced at a chronometer to mark the time.
"Whatever you do, don't bring attention with you."

"No problems, counting down one hour from now. Get A9 into the speeder and we'll head off to lay low for a bit."

Once A9 is in the speeder they will head off to find some place to 'lay low'. While doing this Xil will use the navcomp to look for a number of rendezvous places in Sorren.

A9, also in the back seat, lets out a tirade of beeps and whistles.  It doesn't sound polite.  Given that nobody in the vehicle speaks Binary, though, what the droid's actually saying is likely a mystery.

As Jamie gives his orders, Mika makes an observation.  "No one else can understand R2, he ought to stick with me."

Aside from that though, Mika was pleased to see that someone was willing to step up.  She herself had grown weary of trying to move things along before, but then she really didn't have a plan of action as to what they should have been doing besides sitting around the eatery.

In the drivers seat, Devon rolled his eyes and twisted round to look over his shoulder at Aryan.

'Ok, since at some point we're going to have to find a way off world without setting off any alarm bells - we're going to have come up with a plan and be certain that the local fuzz are off our tails.  It would be really handy for this planning procedure to know what - aside from complain - you can do?'

Facing front again Devon pondered Mika's comment for a moment.
'You know... thats a good point.  We really should be keeping the lady and the droid together.  Not like anyone else can talk to the little guy - whaddya say, buddy?'  he called to R2

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Xil quickly looked about their location at the spaceport, they had spent too much time parked and still.

"I think Ten & Seven are right, A9 should stay with Ten" he said and then looked at Sheila "Get in Three, we have to move now."

Xil looked over to where Jamie had taken Mika and was talking to her, calling to them "Passenger discussions ended, A9 stays with Ten, Three is with us in the speeder and we are leaving now!" he said in a firm manner.

He was overly tired of the amount of time that had been wasted on discussing seemingly simple things. He didn't know what Jamie was planning, but the drop off zone of the spaceport was not the place to be discussing it. They had an hour to kill and if passengers need to be repositioned then it could/ would need to happen later.

As he settled back into his seat he considered the response that Devon had given to Aryan's 'complaining'. Xil himself had chosen to ignore it for the present but he would be interested in how it played out.

Aryan, a little more comfortable than the last speeder, but his lip as he thought. "If isa was a hunter, isa be looking ats the ports first up.  The empire will besa manning them, no doubt.  They will questions ALL gungans on planet, evens with new ID's, there might be little to help" The gungan scratched his ear. "Since gungan's arwe less commons here, it will besa easier to spots us, so though it might be risky, gettings a ship mights be safer. for us all, and though I don't mind fighting a way out, a whole army mights be a little hard."
