Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Xil's brain took a moment to catch up what Aryan had just said and he turned to face him slowly. In a moment of incredulous frustration he almost shouted, only just managing to control his volume "IF, what do you mean IF, you are a hunter. That's the skill you are supposed to bring to the group. I'm a sniper, I shoot things, Seven's a shipjacker he steals ships."

Forcing himself to take a few deep breaths to calm down he added before turning back around to face away from Aryan "And you haven't told us anything that we haven't already figured out."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Still irritated from Aryan's comment, Xil didn't turn to look at Rann's datapad for a drawn out moment. He read it quickly and looked up, irritation clearly still etched on his face "At this point in time Five appears to have a plan, ask him. Otherwise I'll let you know where we'll meet when Five's hour is up."

Turning to Devon "Move this thing out of here." he said more sharply than he intended

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Aryan's Eyes narrow as he looks at Exilim. "Yousa shoot things, huh" He says with a cold Edge in his voice. "Backs there, if yousa didn't pull your weapon, WE wouldn't be running likes this!"

The gungan's tone was even and cold. "Isa ama a hunter, Isa track people.....it's whats i do. Isa don't give a rancor's spit if yousa believe mesa!"

The Gungan Looked at Devon. "If yousa want advice on how not to be tracked, i have some ideas, but there are trackers thats can find us no matter my skills....the empires hasa big pockets."  He scratched his ears.

"My first thing would to be estabishes a net around the place the enemies are. This is theirsa turf, and they'll have people willing to rats us out for a price.  With me beings gungan, this will be all the mores harder, judging by the reactions of the guys we encountered." The gungan paused, then continued. "Gettings a disguise for mesa would be pointless, so all the spaceports willsa be watched.  Short of leaving a man behind...." At this Aryan glares at Exilim "...would be the smartest  move in termsa of disapeariing. Humans can mingle and change when lots of you around."

Taking a deep breath, he continues. "For this reason, I thinksa the best option for getting away is either smuggling mesa out while yousa are passangers, or to take a ship and flee.  The other options isa hiding, but this will not stops them from lookings for us."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Jamie frowned as Xil made his decision and carted off one of his teammates.  Well, that wasn't how he wanted to do it, but Xil was the ground commander and he made a decision.
Oh well.
"Well, that's that," he said to Mika with a sigh.  "Rann, Artoo, come along.  We're going someplace that is not here."
Jamie led the group to the most upper-class cantina he could locate in the immediate vicinity of the spaceport.  Once there he requested seating and directed everyone to clean themselves up in the refresher units.
While they did this, Jamie took a seat and connected to the net to look for messages again, and to check the arrival/departure logs of the spaceport.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

At Xil's command, Devon quickly pulls the airspeeder into traffic and is lost to sight.  Jamie meanwhile, leads his group away from the spaceport to a nearby spaceport hotel.  Settling into the lobby cantina, the group find a booth to fit them all that has a measure of privacy.

OOC:  So what now?  Xil and co, Jamie asked you all to do something for an hour.  Jamie, your group is in a nice cantina.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

A few minutes after Devon had them away from the spaceport Xil says "Not sure what Five was planning, but we couldn't keep hanging around there, it would have got us noticed. At the moment we have some time to spare. As the others don't have transport at present I suggest that we move about and see if there is something bigger that we can acquire, just in case whatever Five is planning doesn't work out. At least that way we can all go along together to Sorren and meet up with Nine. Any other ideas?"

Devon mused for a few moments before answering.
'I'm wonderin' about not stealing something else for a while yet.  Let our trail go cold for a bit.  On the other hand though, its only a matter of time before someone notices that this'
Devon thumped the speeders control panel.
'Has gone missing.  Perhaps its best if we did change up.  And we want something that people wont notice is missing...'

Devon grinned at Xil, then at Aryan and Sheila via the rearview mirror..  'Either wont notice, or nothing will be done about it that we need to worry about.  I think we need to stop stealing commercial vehicles and hit the low rent district.'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Mika tags along in Jamie's wake, looking wide-eyed at the upper class joint.  She suddenly felt rather out of place, given her over-sized workmen-like attire.  This was not the sort of place she usually frequented.  She looks around at the finery, her quick mind immediately going to if she could afford to actually order anything in the place.

As directed, she disappears into one of the refresher units to see what can be done.  Cleaned up, Mika's still rather far from presentable for such a place, her clothes may be clean and serviceable, but they're still about as fashionable as an Ugnaught in a prom dress.

Coming back out, she spies Jamie and moves to join him again.

Turning to answer Sheila he says "What happened, well putting it nicely, a lack of judgement and foresight. Although saying that, it's possible we may have ended up in this predicament anyway. More details when we all get back together." he looked thoughtful for a minute before adding "As for how much use the intel we have will be, well, something else we'll look at when all together."

Jamie tapped out a message as he spoke to Mika.
"Don't worry, you look great.  I know it may seem a little weird to hide out in a place this uppity, but if anyone's looking for you, they won't look here.  They'd expect you to go to ground somewhere a little more shady."

Mika nods, "That's a good point. Of course, if anyone looking does happen to bump into someone from here...  well, everyone from the owners to the janitors are going to remember our visit."  Having said her piece, Mika puts the matter behind her in a 'what's done is done so there's no use worrying about it'  sort of way.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Devon drove on in silence for a few moments, chewing at his lower lip and occasionally tapping queries into the map function on his datapad.

'I'm tryin' to find us something suitable - a place to ditch this AND some new transport.  Ideally something that wont get reported in for a while.  Isolated farm or similar with a cargo speeder would be ideal, but I dont think we're gonna get that lucky - especially not in the time we got.'

Devon frowned at the answers he was getting from his datapad, then changed the subject.

'Ok, plans for getting us offworld:  You know that between the four of us we should have the skill sets we need to pull this off right?  All we gotta do is think up a plan.  How about we work on that idea I mentioned earlier?  Smuggle ourselves onto a ship then take it over midflight?'  Devon looked at Sheila via the rearview.  'You be able to slice cargo manifests so we can smuggle ourselves on board that way?  Or somethin' similar?'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

"Not a bad idea, it does give us an option to get off world. I suppose that there are only two of us that really need it at this point. That is assuming that the authorities have not made the connection between us all." He looked around briefly and then continued "I also have a feeling that Nine might have things for us to do, before we get to that point though. Something else to consider."

He thought about the rest of the team and hoped that Jamie had a plan for them. He knew that they had left the spaceport abruptly but they had tended to linger for too long in recent times.

"As for what we do now, well we have the hour. If we have no luck getting more appropriate transport for the group then we head to Sorren. In the mean time Three, see if you can details on what transport options the others will have."

<An hour passes>

At an upper-class hotel cantina, half the Talons sit, cleaned, refreshed and nursing respective drinks of their choice.  Jamie continues to stare at his datapad.

In another part of town, Xil, Aryan, Sheila and Devon sit in their stolen airspeeder, passing the time.

OOC:  I think 10 days (equivalent time for 3 posts) is long enough to count as 1 hour.  The deadline is up.  Time to get moving again!

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

Noticing the time Xil realises that their time is up. They hadn't heard from the other team yet and so had no idea what Jamie's plan was.

Looking to the rest of the team in the speeder he says "Time to move on, the hour is up. Seven, get us moving to Sorren. Three if you did manage to get any info on transport options send them to Five or Six. We will have to rendezvous with them in Sorren."

He gathers his thoughts for a moment and then contacts the other team on the Talons secure comm "Four to team two. The deadline has been reached. We are now on the move to the the alternate location. Advise of your plans asap."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

SHeila had gotten Devon to stop long enough to give her a chance to hook into the net safely, and had drawn up a list of ships that were leaving in the next few days, concentrating on the closer ones, listing cargo, passengers and location of the ship.    She also pulled up a locality map to help find places where they might trade vehicles.

Mika rolls her eyes as R2 beeps.  In a quiet voice, she says, "You mean we should get moving, right?"  She looks to the others.  She'd not been impressed with the Talon leadership on this mission.  When Jamie showed up, things seemed to be looking up quite well, but the last hour of sitting and doing nothing did much to sour her opinion.

"R2's right, we shouldn't just be sitting around.  Rann, can you pull up the public transportation information, find out what options we have to head over to... our destination?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Recon Mission

<Xil, Devon, Sheila, Aryan>
Following Xil's instructions, Devon lifted the airspeeder from the ground and set it on the course for Sorren he'd already programmed during the hour they were waiting.  Finding a quiet atmospheric slot, he activated the speeder's autopilot and then relaxed.  Estimated time of travel was two hours, fifty minutes.

<Jamie, Mika, Rann, R2-A9>
In the hotel, while Jamie continued to stare at his datapad, Rann pulled up the public transport information.  Their best bet was a hovertrain.  There was one heading to Sorren in an hour.  The trip would take about six hours.  The other option was a suborbital shuttle which could have them in Sorren in less than an hour but it required ID to get on board.  While Jamie's ID was certainly clean, it was a guess as to wether Mika's and Rann's were still safe.

OOC:  Remember your comms have a 100km range so at present you'll lose comms with each other in about 15 minutes.

Jamie looked up from the datapad.
"I have a contact in the spaceport.  He has a ship docked there right now.  He says he is willing to give us a lift, but we would have to be able to get through security.  Only thing I can think of, off the top of my head, is to attempt to get new IDs.  Still, that may not cut it for Aryan.  We may have to travel to Sorren separately.  Any ideas?"
