Cor half-smiles, not pointing out that she's already worked out that the incriminating photos should be copied.  She'd have to be a bit daft not to realise that.

"Ready to leave when you are," Cor says as the transfer completes, "unless you want me to leave a keylogger in his system somewhere."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

Zyra shrugged.  "If you think you can do it.  Just make sure it's something that wont be found and can be accessed remotely.  Personally I've had enough of the Senator's hospitality."

After Cor had finished her work on the Senator's computer the trio made their way quietly back updtairs without incident.  An hour or two passed as they went over the various data.

Zyra disappeared off into one of the bedrooms for a few minutes before returning and signalling to Cor to cut the security feeds.  Once this was done she explained the situation.

"Turns out the Talons are still on planet so I've brought them here to Sorren.  I've given them the job of making the Senator feel he's the target of an assassination attempt.  I sent them the juicy holos you have of the senator with alien prostitutes so the Talons can pose as anti-alien terrorists."

"The purpose of this is so that the Senator will want to be rid of us as soon as possible.  He'll be under scrutiny and we'll be an embarassment."

"You downloaded his holomail right?  Find the one from Starfox and copy it's format.  If all goes well I'll need you to send him an urgent holomessage stating Starfox is concerned about our safety and their clients anonymity and have sent a private transport to pick us up.  The Talons will supply the transport, the senator will get us departure clearance, avoiding customs and checkpoints like we did on the way in and we're home free."

She looked at Cor and smiled.  "I'm sure the Talons can do their job, but lets dream up a backup plan just in case something goes wrong.  I trust Mark to pull this off, but the Commander isn't here.  Hopefully the boys are up to it, the timeframe is so narrow."

She sighs.  "Let's see how they're going." she pulls out her commlink and slips it in her ear.  She offers Cor a second one. "Nine to Talons.  Progress report please.  We're on a tight schedule here."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

"No team is flawless," Cor nods.  "Perhaps if things go terribly bad one of the guards could be persuaded to help us out of the area."  She thinks for a few moments.  "The likelihood of implanting a keylogger that cannot be found is more or less zero.  Once the Senator realises those pictures have been lifted from his computer we will likely come under very close scrutiny unless he is kept under pressure; if he does not have his computer scanned for virii then he does not deserve to have a computer."

Then she starts tapping away.  "If we had more time and preparation I could implant a datamining virus that looked like it had been copied to the system months ago but we haven't the luxury."  She filters through the Senator's email and copies the format as requested; easy enough to do.

Zyra giggles.  "Oh, I'm not worried about getting out of here.  We've already seen how bad the security is.  Besides, last time I was on this planet I had to not only get off the planet, but I started inside an Imperial military base!  Ooh I had to tell Mark of for abandoning me there.  No, I just want to get out of here AND maintain our cover story.  Starfox has been useful in the past and will no doubt be so again.  I do not wish to bring Imperial wrath upon them."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

"I wonder, how often must this be happening?"  Cor keeps working as she talks.  "This cannot possibly be the only Imperial human male who seeks the services of StarFox and similar organisations.  Nothing is quite as compelling as the forbidden.  Perhaps we should be investigating more thoroughly into such businesses - making deals, forging contacts, perhaps even purchasing shares.  Few businesses are as profitable as those which get rich people laid, and such organisations must be privy to incredible amounts of sensitive information."

The Zabrak stretches.  "Personally, I find some of their business practices. . .questionable.  Like how a customer who brutalises a girl merely has to pay a fee for 'damaged merchandise' and is welcome to hire more girls.  I must say, they're not one group I'd personally add to my stock portfolio.  Of course you may feel differently on such things."

Lacking a response, Cor shrugs.  It's no big deal to her either way but the idea's in her head now.

"Oh," she exclaims softly as she gets an incoming message, "A9 is asking about identification.  Apparently the team may have compromised their fake identification, and nobody has thought to actually check if it is the case.  He seems..."  She frowns at the screen a little.  "Rather annoyed."

Whie she's at a high-performance computer she runs a few basic tests to see if the IDs raise any flags.

"Not sure I'd try that from here.  Any failures or if the ID's are flagged, the signal will definitely be traced.  There are much easier ways to test these things.  It is best done from a mobile location or through a proxy.  Three is more then skilled enough for such a task, as is ten.  Or you just do something simple like grab a street urchin, promise him one hundred credits if he'll go buy you a ticket for you, hand him some cash and your ID and see if the troopers nab him!"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

Choosing to proceed, despite Zyra's warning, Cor quickly sets up a false reservation for transport on an Imperial transport leaving from a spaceport on the far side of the planet using Xil's ID details and set for payment on delivery.  The payment was approved and the ticket reserved.  However Cor noted that the transaction was flagged and the information transferred elsewhere.  Cor was unable to track it but she didn't need to.  The ID was being watched.  Not seriously enough to attempt back traces.  She knew if Xil had actually been going to get that ticket there would have been stormtroopers waiting for him.

"Excrement."  Cor sighs and transmits the results to her R2 unit.  "Mr Nallis's ID, at the very least, is being watched."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

It had been a few tense hours of waiting.  Cor had monitored news channels, both public and private while Zyra listened to various chatter on the Talon comms, other comms and tapping into her range of contacts.  Cor had also been keeping in contact with A9 should the plucky droid need assistance.

Their security was largely assured.  The camera was not being looped at present as it would get suspicious.  Besides, two girls sitting around tapping on datapads did not look suspicious.  The guard droid Cor had sliced was still sending its feed to the Umbaran and sending her an alert everytime it headed up the stairs to their level.

Cor's attention was suddenly drawn to a police report that indicated the Senator had survived an attack by a small group of protestors.  The Senator was unharmed but one of his bodyguards had been wounded.  Eight civilians were dead, the rest had fled.  Seems the overzealous hotel guards had panicked and fired into the crowd.  It was uncertain why the attack had happen and their were few leads as they hadn't identified which of the dead were rioters and which were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

In short the attack had not achieved what Zyra had wanted.  The Senator was uninjured and while potentially shaken, wouldn't see need to send his whores away providing Zyra and Cor's exit window.

On the couch beside her Zyra was bringing up a map on her datapad, whilst sighing quietly to herself.  Cor had seen Zyra do this enough to know something was frustrating her.

"Something for you to look at," Cor says lightly, and not very loudly, sending the news report to Zyra's datapad along with a short message: 'Video not currently looping.  Seems Mr Nallis did his best but we still have our client to deal with.  Casualties, unfortunately; this has been a very messy outing.  A9 says the jack-team is doing well with transport.  What is bothering you?'

Zyra examined Cor's message than flicked back a message.

'Seems we have multiple teams in need of our help.  I need to amplify the pressure on the Senator.  Do what you can to suggest this is the start of a larger campaign.  Drop anonymous tips to the Imps that a raid is planned on this house or that a bomb is to be planted.  Get data out that the Senator is an alien lover.  Anything you can do to draw attention to this house.  If the Senator thinks we might be spotted, he'll want us offplanet ASAP.'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

Cor nods and goes through the process of collating some of the juicier pictures they found.  'He is a senator, and therefore a politician.  I will locate his three chief rivals and send them some presents.  Also a couple of anonymous tips to the local 'decency' groups.'

She then starts... doing that!  Locating his rivals shouldn't be hard, as politics is always well-covered by the media and every politician has enemies. 'Decency' groups and moral brigades also tend to be very loud.

'Wonderful work.'  Zyra messages back.  'We might need to loop camera and audio soon so we can talk to the teams.  Listen in to Eight and Ten and offer advice.  I'm preparing a holomessage from Starfox calling for us to be sent back just in case the Senator isn't convinced to send us packing.  Once I'm done, I'll help out coordinating the teams.'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

Having heard back from Sheila, Cor starts tapping away on her datapad with the speed and accuracy of a veteran geek.

"Searching for you now."  Cor's voice sounds completely calm and relaxed.  "Do you know how they managed to get critically injured?  If there is another element, perhaps some gang that has been molesting them, there may be eyes on your location at street level."

She also sends a message to her droid:

::A9, if you have no current critical task, please start searching for zones of low population - abandoned locales, run-down districts and the like - starting from these co-ordinates and radiating out.  Highest processing priority.::

With it she sends the co-ordinates of the diplomatic team.

Cor opens and shuts her mouth a few times before nodding to Zyra.  "The stormtroopers have converged on Three and Eight's positions.  It sounds like a full squad.  I think we may lose them."  She swallows hard.  Her next suggestion is based on tactics rather than emotion: "Eight is in the fire-zone, Three is outside observing.  Should I order Three to retreat?"

Zyra stared into the middle distance for a few seconds before answering.

"Three is there, we are not.  Tell her to use her judgement but not to throw her life away in a useless gesture.  I can't believe they were there so long.  They should have got out an hour ago."

Zyra smiled, though wether at Cor's tirade or the idea of her in hotpants was anybodys guess.

"It goes with the territory I'm afraid.  Work in any kind of intelligence or logistical capacity and the ground crews will want the impossible.  Mark always wants the passcodes to everything and for me to read our foe's minds.  If I could do that I'd make my living playing sabaac!"

"Get our people out alive.  If all goes well we should be able to evacuate them and the aliens together.  We can't just leave then now.  It would be as much of a death sentence as leaving them in the warehouse."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Girl Talk

<TIME PASSES>

It had been a flurry of motion since the Senator had comm'd through orders to get the girls out.  Starfox had kindly contacted the Senator, promised him credit towards future purchases and secured a ship to transport the girls offworld.  In exchange the Senator would arrange the appropriate clearances so said ship could leave the sector without any pesky custom searches.  The Senator had readily agreed.

A limo had whisked the girls to the spaceport.  Fortunately they had already been packed or their luggage would likely would have been left.

Now the limo was idling outside a hangar at the spaceport.  Guards had made themselves scarce when given the Senator's authorisation codes.
