Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team
<Holonet Cafe>
Rann settles into his chair at the holonet cafe, a steaming cup of caf beside him and a holoterminal before him. Unfortunately the society pages offer little as the Imperial doesn't exactly allow freedom of the media. So Rann is forced to use a more direct approach and slice the hotel's security list and comes up with a full list of people who are authorised to attend the reception, this includes guests as well as all the maintenance, entertainers, etc. Apparently all staff involved will have a security ID. Guests do not have an ID but still must pass through security. Apparently the hotel will supply a few armed guards but most of the high-ranking senators have their own bodyguards coming with them.
<Holonews Station>
Jamie meanwhile has driven to a local holonet station and asked to speak to one of the producers. He is politely shown into a small office where he quickly explains he has compromising holos of an Imperial Senator with alien mistresses.
The producer seems shocked at the news then stammers he has to get his manager and leaves the room. Jamie waits patiently for a few minutes before a new man walks in the room. This man is not a manager, but is clearly from security.
"Sir, you are under arrest. The authorities are on their way. Please remain where you are."
OOC: Sense motive - 6 (Fail). Is this a bad time to point out that the Empire does not support freedom of the media? Anyway, there is a single security guard armed with a blaster pistol and stun baton. He has drawn neither, seemingly happy just to keep you where you are until the police arrive. Oh and the man hasn't even checked if you're armed! Very sloppy.
<Building near Imperial Hotel>
Xil sat on the roof of an accounting firm and sighed. He'd reconnoitered around the Imperial Hotel without great success. He'd found several good vantage points from which he could watch any entrance. He could easily assassinate the senator from at least two vantage points but he wasn't under orders to harm the Senator, nor did he have a suitable weapon.
The windows of the hotel was heavily tinted and the roof of the building looked like it had good security. He'd spotted perimeter sensors, spotlights and cameras. There was a landing pad on the roof, but it was clearly only for the most elite clientele. There were three other entrances he'd spotted. There was the airspeeder landing pad about halfway up the building, and three ground floor entrances. One was clearly the main entrance, the other two looked like service entrances. The latter two were locked and appeared to need some sort of code cylinder to enter.
