Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Receiving the various reports Xil turns to Rann "Time to leave this area and make ourselves scarce until the transport is ready."

While he hated leaving any team member behind, he knew that finding Jamie would now be near impossible. He had made the team aware he was alive and they would just have to wait until his return. Xil heads off in a direction away from both the Imperial hotel and destroyed speeder.

"Eight" Xil says over the secure comm "Clarify the last part of your message."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil stops walking abruptly and lets a number of expletives leave his mouth loudly before remembering he was in public and making a scene was not the best idea.

With Jamie now dark, the fact they needed to get off world and the other responsibilities he had, he felt an instant headache manifest. What did he mean that he needed some place to take the civilians, surely that was something that had been planned long before now.

Trying to remain calm he responds to Aryan, his voice unfortunately had an obvious edge to it "Eight, don't tell me that you haven't planned for a relocation point. Surely you did that as part of your prep before making contact, with possible contingency locations as well."

He signals to Rann to keep moving, this was not a conversation be having while idle in public.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil continues to lead Rann away from hotel and speeder. He keeps an eye out for somewhere that they can stop without drawing too much attention to themselves, somewhere like a cafe, cantina or park.

Once there he pulls out his data pad and starts looking for possible pick up locations. Ideally he wanted something relatively isolated, had an area that a ship could land and that could still be reached without too much hassle. If it had an abandoned building of some description it would be a bonus as he and Rann could wait unseen.

While waiting for the search data to come back he contacts Aryan. Not having heard back from the Gungan in regards to his planning skills, he needed to now keep on top of that as well.

"Eight, Four. Report ASAP on the status of your mission. Do you have a relocation point?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil stopped his search for a moment as he heard the chatter on the Talons comm. Cor was now helping Aryan and Sheila, he would wait and see the result before involving himself.

He turns back to his data pad and continues to enter data: distance from the city 150kms or more, isolated. He was really after somewhere that was going to limit their chance of detection. With the alerted state in the city, detection was the last thing they needed. Fast ships coming to investigate would really be annoying. Secondary on his search was the ease of accessing the pick up point. The Talons should be able to get somewhere even if it was a little more difficult. Any form of shelter was last on his list of priorities.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Devons voice came crackling out the commlink.
'Four, this is Seven.  We've hit a snag with the ship and might need the captains command codes to crack the lockdown we're looking at.'  Devon hesitated for a moment before continuing.  'Either the command codes or at least an hour longer than I thought.  The captain is not aboard so I'm guessing he's out in town somewhere.  I can give you full details of ship registration, his travel permits, blaster registration and a physical description.  Think you can get on tracking him down?'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil looked up when he heard Devon's voice come through on the comm. It took him a moment to process what he was being told and asked to do Damn, whats happened he asked himself and how are we to find a needle in a haystack

"Seven" he replied "Two things. One, what happened in the acquisition of the ship. Two, you're asking me to try find someone in a city with basically a physical description. I may be able to use his ID info, but only if he has needed to use it. You're going to have to get me more intel if we are to be of any help."

He thought for a moment "And Seven, send whatever you do find to both Six and myself" he finished off.

Xil turned to Rann "When you get the intel start trying to find this captain. I'm not sure how we are going to do it, but looks like we had better figure it out."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

There was a pause before Devon spoke again and when he did his voice was absolutely, artificially calm.  To anyone who knew him well enough, it was clear Devon was angry and trying not to show it - probably angry at himself.
'I screwed up, OK?  Skipping the details: I screwed up, got electrocuted and short circuited the ships security. My hands are still numb from the shock.'

Another short pause, and Devon sounded more natural when he continued.  'Yes, I know what I'm asking... but if we want this ship in less than an hour, we don't have a choice.  I'd start with the local cantinas - I don't recall seeing anywhere to get something to eat here in the port, so he might have gone to a cantina for a meal.  You've got a datapad, right?  I'll send copies to you.'

'Now, he's got a permit for a blaster... but we've got the blaster here.  So unless he's carrying a second, unlicenced blaster.. he's unarmed. And Four?  This guy has a wife and two kids.  I for one don't want to make any orphans today, OK?'

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil's brain went into overdrive with the comms chatter. Things were possibly coming to a head in one mission and the other had been delayed.

Turning to Rann he says quickly "Concentrate on finding this captain, we may need that ship sooner than planned. Check for cantinas near the spaceport and work out from there."

He then turns his attention to the diplomatic team "Eight, it's Four. Get whoever you can ready to go now! If they have pre-planned escape routes then get them moving. The imps may not be stopping but if they are, you're in a world of trouble. What resources do you have at your disposal?" pauses momentarily and then continues "Three, keep the updates coming on that speeder." While talking to the diplomatic team he was also busy on his datapad working out just how far he and Rann were from Aryan.

'Apparently he's at the local Grav-ball arena, taking in the game.  He bought tickets and the game he's watching isnt due to end for a while yet.  Here's the details.'

Details of the sport arena - its address and scheduled games pop up on Xil's datapad.  The current running game (and its end-time) are highlighted.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

The information arrives on Rann's datapad with a single ding to announce it.  Devon's information was quite thorough.  Looking over the data together they found that Aldren Steele had purchased a ticket for the quarter finals for the Phindar Intersector Grav-Ball Tournament being played at the Imperial Sports Arena this very night.  According to the times on the ticket, the match was already underway and wouldn't finish for about 100 minutes.  Though grav-ball was played in quarters so they'd be breaks in the game at half-time and three-quarter time where spectators could relieve themselves and buy refreshments.

Checking the map, they found they were only a short speeder ride to the Arena, less than five minutes by airtaxi.

OOC:  The ticket information includes Steele's seat number, the game running time, etc.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil thought for a moment about their various options. They had heard back from Aryan and Sheila, but not directly. It was obvious an imminent assault was about to occur.

Xil had to consider the team as a whole. He hoped that Aryan has had time to come up with some sort of plan. Unfortunately the other teams had no time to get over to the aliens hideout and help. He makes his decision, as difficult as it was.

"Lets get over to that stadium, we need to find that captain asap." He hails an airtaxi and will use what available credits he has to  get there  and gain entrance to the stadium.

He will continue to monitor the comms chatter.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil quickly hails an airtaxi, gives the pilot directions and he whisks them off to the sports areana.  The trip takes less than ten minutes during which Xil and Rann listen intently to the reports coming in from Sheila and Aryan.  It was frustrating not to be able to help, but they had to trust the two were up to the challenge.  They were Talons after all.

Arriving at the arena, Xil quickly paid the fare and tip and the pair rushed over to the arena.  The place was alight with sound and lights.  The grav-ball game clearly had a sellout crowd.

They approached a ticket station where a droid stood watch.

"Please display your ticket or seasons pass." it droned.

OOC:  You normally need a ticket to get into a sports event!

On a side note, the entire Diplomatic Team battle will undoubtedly unfold while you guys were in the taxi (battles rarely last 100 rounds).  SO while you can't physically participate, either/both of you can be involved over comm (the back is partitioned so the driver wont here you.

"I don't know, it'd take a pretty long while, I've not tried to make a droid virus before.  3's a better choice for it or if she's busy, get to a comms and call 11.  If I have to stop and do it, we're not making our deadline."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Xil pulls his attention back to the stadium and vending droid, he had been hoping to hear how Aryan and Sheila were doing but had not heard anymore over the comm.

Rann's bluff had unfortunately not worked with the droid "That might just work" he said to Rann. Contacting Mika "Ten, if we can get past this droid and get to the captain it might make it easier to get the ship moving."

As he waits for a response he wanders a little closer to and around the stadium, starting to search for possible entry points if the droid continues to be problematic.

The vending droid stares blankly at the two Talons.  "Please display your ticket or seasons pass.  Concerns should be forwarded to the administration office during business hours." it repeats.  "If you do not have a ticket or season pass, please move along or security will be called."

OOC:  Even a skilled droid engineer or slicer would need hours to create even a simple droid virus, and Mika is not a skilled droid engineer or slicer.  As she said, she could easily fix the ship long before such a program could be prepared.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Destruction Team

Signaling to Rann, Xil moves off, the tact that they had tried had not worked so a different plan was obviously necessary. As he moved Xil continued to search for another way in.

When he had moved a distance away from the droid he pulled out his datapad and began to search for any intel he could get about the stadium.

(( OOC: On Mika's suggestion I'm assuming Cor has heard.  If this is wrong I'll remove this post. ))

Cor's voice comes over the comms.  Her tone sounds slightly strained.  "Unless the droid is connected to a terminal by cable or wireless link a virus would do you no good in any case as you would need to upload it to the droid manually, which it will very likely object to.  The stadium may sell half-time tickets; purchasing a couple may be the easiest and quickest option.  If that is not possible I can attempt to slice into the ticketing system."
