While Rann was talking to the droid Xil was busy on his datapad looking for a schematic of the stadium to work out other ways of getting in or out of the venue. He also tried to determine where the freighter captain's seat would be located and the closest entrance/ exit to him.

Hearing Sheila's comm call to Aryan he also waited for a reply. Slightly distracted as he was he didn't immediately answer Cor's comment on the droid or sitrep request.

His head snaps up when he hears the unfamiliar voice and its warning over the comm. He starts looking around, unsure who the warning was directed at he directs his gaze to the north east.

While the attack warning was clearly not aimed at him and Rann, things had gotten more ...... interesting. He moves back to Rann pulling him away from the droid "Lets go, changing plans." he said as they moved.

When they were a distance away from the droid he said to Rann "This may work out for us. If we can help out Three quickly, we may have time to get back here with an imp officer and his speeder. The officer can apprehend our captain for something or other and we can keep him from the spaceport while they work on his ship or we get the intel out of him. If we can trust the officer that is. All we need are the co-ordinates from Eleven."

Rann quickly plugged in the address Cor had given them for the ambush.  It was about ten minutes away by landspeeder, about two by airspeeder.  Rann had also plugged in Sheila's current position and saw they were indeed closer to the spot.  Sheila would need closer to fifteen minutes to get there, longer if she had a damaged speeder.  It was unlikely she'd make it. . .unless this phantom stormtrooper actually agreed to Cor's instructions.


OOC:  Quick reminder, you have no speeder.  However outside a stadium getting an airtaxi is simple.

Xil quickly leads Rann over the the nearest speeder stand. As time was of the essence he chose the airspeeder over the landspeeder. Any extra time to plan the ambush would be helpful. After giving the driver directions he sits back getting on his datapad.

It took no time at all to find an airtaxi.  The man seemed a little surprised with the remote location, but a little fast-talking by Rann and a moderate-sized tip from Xil had them there in under 5 minutes.  The taxi shot off into the darkness leaving the pair alone.  Based on Sheila's last update they had five minutes or so to plan their ambush.

Xil used the time in the airtaxi to get a basic layout of the area they were heading to. As they got closer to their destination he also started paying attention to the areas they were passing through.

As soon as the taxi had left he quickly matched up what he knew and now saw of the location around the fuel station and hotel. If they could somehow manage to pull this off without attracting attention it would be very lucky. Considering the possible sources of noise (blaster fire & probably shouting/ screaming) he rules out the space between the station and hotel. It may appear deserted but would soon change with a commotion.

Moving quickly he heads away from the hotel and past the fuel station to check out that area more closely (using whatever he can - macrobinoculars, innate sniper senses etc). He heads down what appears to be a side road of sorts just past the station and sees some factory buildings a bit further down. He also notices that there are some trees and other sources of cover that he and Rann could use.

He calls Rann over "Ok, we're going to set up down there" he says pointing down the side street "One of us on either side of the road flanking where we want the imp speeder to stop."

Rann and Xil worked quickly to set up their ambush.  Xil quickly took cover in the treeline and worked on sighting in his rifle and ensuring the power pack had plenty of shots.  Rann, after making a quick trip to the petrochem station, moved to his assigned point with a large bag of shopping and a jerry can.

Less than a minute later, Sheila warned on the comm that she was almost there.  True to her word, a speeder appeared less then a minute later.  It was listing seriously to the side and seemed to be losing power.  Even though Rann and Xil knew it was an act, it was a convincing one.

Sheila brought the speeder down in the assigned position.  Almost immediately two aliens jumped from the front passenger seat and ran towards the south.  Sheila slid out and hid behind the speeder.

From his position in the trees, Xil watched as the stormtrooper speeder stopped in the fuel station but did not progress further.


OOC: Okay everyone is in position as per the map except the stormtrooper speeder which is parked at the petrochem station (near the "Vehicles come from here" tag).

I'm going to close the diplomatic team thread and you can all post here.  Good luck.

Keeping an eye on the speeder Xil quickly ran through options in his head. More decoys could work maybe if we make it look like they are scattering in different directions he thought to himself.

SHeila stood there waiting, hoping they weren't going to take her out from a distance.  She stood about six feet from the back of the speeder,  holding the rifle like she's trying to provide cover for the runners.

Comms chatting

As Xil waits for the imps to arrive in their speeder he focuses on the job at hand. With lots of variables in play things could get tricky if the troopers did not go down quickly.

Sheila moved back so she could speek into the speeder.  "I need a couple more of you to make a run for it."  And pulled out the freg grenade, trying to make sure the troopers couldn't see her do it.

pouring the water out of the bottles onto his cloths Rann then pours a mix of speeder fuel and washing solution into the now empty bottles then tearing the cloths into rags and bingo sticky Molotov cocktails. Making sure he had his lighter from his tool kit (a lighter is always handy when gathering info from smokers)
Rann rolled a 16 on demolitions to make the molotov's

After what seems an eternity, the armoured command speeder drives into the side road and approaches the 'stalled' speeder.



OOC: Combat rounds now which means maximum 2 day turnaround.  The speeder will reach your ambush point next round.  Time to do whatever you plan to do.

Xil noted the imp speeder start to move after the orders given by their leader. He sights down the blaster rifle ready to fire when a target presents itself. In the back of his mind he has also noted different paths to take if he needs to move if needing to get into a better position.


Xil slowed his breathing down as he waited and focused.

Ambush - Round 1

The speeder approached cautiously.  As it approached, a grenade was fired from a port in the side of the speeder.  It hit the ground close to the back of the truck and exploded, a concussive wave blowing in all directions.

Sheila was caught in the blast radius and knocked off her feet.  Moments later, the command vehicle, instead of going around the turn, flew onto the grass and came to a halt metres from the cargo speeder and two stormtroopers emerged.  They charged at Sheila and the truck.


OOC:  The stormtrooper speeder has gone past the 'ambush point' and continued east and parked directly above Sheila's speeder.  This blocks Xil's line of sight.  Rann still has a clear shot.

I should also point out that each 'square' in the battle map is 40m.  So Rann is approx 40-50m from the stormtroopers, Xil is about 30-40m (but has a LOS issue).  Sheila is less than 10m from them.

Sheila, you are stunned for 1 round.

putting the three other molotov's down within reach, Rann held the fourth in his hand with the lighter in the other ready to throw when the troopers start firing
Rann delays action till storm troopers start firing  then throw molotov at troopers

seeing the trooper speeder pass the ambush site Rann swore before picking up his bits and sneaking closer to the troopers with out being seen.

Ambush - Round 2

Rann slowly and ponderously moves closer attempting to remain unseen.  He reached the edge of the treeline and realised there was no more cover between him and the stormtroopers.  The troopers were busy firing stun blasts into the back of the truck and failed to notice Rann.

Sheila quickly regained her senses and her limbs.


OOC:  Sheila, you are about 8 metres from the troopers.  They haven't noticed you yet as they're shooting people in the truck.

Rann you are 35 metres from the troopers and if you close you will no longer have cover.

Xil, you have no line of sight on the troopers as the trooper's speeder is blocking you.  You are 30 metres from the truck.

Xil moved quickly with his rifle raised and ready to fire. He headed south so that he would come around the speeder that Sheila had piloted. As he had no cover he was relying on the  element of surprise to at least take out one of the troopers.

As he moves he notes key aspect of the comm chatter and determines that the sergeant needed to go down first.

He hoped that as the troopers had not yet met resistance that they wouldn't be expecting him.

OOC: for simplicity am using up/ down as north/ south.

Rann rolled 14 to hide from the troopers as he gets closer from my previous post
Ducking  down to stay out sight of the troopers he kept trying to get closer without being seen
Rann rolled 09 to move silently and Rolled 17 to hide at the same time

Sheila will go after her gun, (and probably get stunned for it.)  she will try to reach it without them noticing her, and if able to, will shoot at them until they either fall, or stun her again.

Ambush - Round 3-5

Xil ran full speed, taking full advantage of the speeder to get into position without being seen.  Peering around the corner, he took careful aim at the first stormtrooper and dispatched him cleanly with a single shot.  The other stormtrooper, the one who had stunned Sheila spun and charged at Xil, catching him with a stun blast that sent the sniper sprawling.

Recovering from being stunned, Sheila rolled to her rifle, took aim while lying on her belly and fired two quick rounds into the final stormtrooper who was charging the sniper.  Both shots penetrated armour and the stormtrooper flung his arms in the air as he crashed to the dirt, his unmoving body skidding to a halt near Xil.

Still over twenty metres away, Rann had remained apparently unnoticed, creeping across the road.


OOC:  All dead, no injuries to your team (just a few people shaking off stun settings.  Now the firefight didn't last long but it's likely people heard shots.
