Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Aryan, driving the speeder, looks over at shelia. "Wesa will look at teh area. If there be a lots of non humans, it may be dangerous for yousa to walk alone.  If it is a mix, or there is a business, maybe you can use it."

"SUggestions on how we get back to the group?  Hotwiring speeders is not my thing,."  She's using the net, trying to figure out what kind of area they are going into, the alien quarter, mixed, business, mixed slum.

aryan scratches his ear. "Maybes part the speeder somewheres with cover so itsa won't be found easily.  then if wesa need it we can come back to it.  if itsa found, we can improvise."  The gungan looks at shelia. this suituation was new to him, someone hunting him, he was more comfortable as the hunter and tracker.

"maybe some derelict warehouse or wreaked building, or cover it.  If there was wilderness close i could help cover and we go to the house onsa foot."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Location: Near Alien Safehouse

Sheila works on pulling up her info but it proves unnecessary as by the time she's found net access, sliced it and started to pull up data, they've arrived near they're destination.  Aryan puts the airspeeder into a casual orbit which lets them see the area and they're target building.

The area seems like a run down residential/industrial district.  The noise from some heavy industry can be heard, even from the tens of meters they were in the air.

Intermingled amongst the factories were some cheaper accomodation.  Mostly large apartment blocks, with 'coffin-style' rooms.  Essentially small 1-room jobs that carried all amenities and were designed for those who chould not afford better.

The majority of the pedestrian traffic appeared human.  They couldn't be sure as many of the people wore hooded cloaks, even on these warmer days.

The address they'd been given for the alien group was actually a moderately-sized two storey warehouse.  It looked abandoned, the windows were boarded up and the fence around it seemed lock.  However Aryan trained eye, saw signs of habitation, even from above; the sturdiness of the doors, signs of speeder tracks, rubbish bins that were full but not overflowing with old rubbish.  People lived or worked there.

Between looking over the side of the speeder and looking at the map, is there a good candidate for a place to put the speeder?

Aryan, taking a quick survey of the place, looks around. There's plenty of places to hides the speeder, but where thats not gonna draw attention? The gungan looks at shelia. "Looks for a place that is easy to get into and won't draw attention to us getting in." he says

Partially. I just wanted you to weave it into your own story.  It doesn't really matter to the game if you park in a back alley, or in underground parking or a supermarket parking area.  Hell you could even write 'I park the speeder in an unobtrusive location'.  You know you can see places to park unobtrusively, just want you guys to come up with an idea rather than have me make a list of places.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Sheila pointed down at a building, roughly the equivalent of a strip mall about four blocks from the warehouse, the vehicles in the lot were similar to the one they were driving, one of the business being labeled vehicular resale.  THere was a cheap restaurant and two other stores with the resale place being at the end furthest from the warehouse they were going to.    "How about down there."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Aryan quickly brings the speeder down and lands in an empty space amongst numerous other speeders.  Powering the speeder down they look around.  There is light to moderate pedestrian traffic as people head shopping or to the restaraunts.  Vehicular traffic is light.  Nobody seems to be paying attention to the speeder as it sits there, it's two occupants staring around from behind tinted viewports.

Sheila grinned at Aryan,  "You ready?"  She tucked her pad back into a pocket.  "Let's go be casual.  I'll stop off at a bar or restaurant on the way and wait for you, unless you want me to be somewhere else."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Sheila exitted the speeder and quickly mingles with the shopping crowd.  Finding a quiet cafe with an outdoor area, she made herself comfortable, ordered a drink and ensured her comm was on.

Aryan meanwhile had walked off in the direction of the warehouse.  The gungan noticed that while he still drew stares and some hostile looks, they were fewer than he'd experienced in Seba Grove.  Either the people around here were more tolerant of aliens or just more used to seeing them.  Either way, nobody bothered him as he made his way to the warehouse.

The building itself was surrounded by an old chanlink fence, about two metres high, topped with barbed wire.  The main gate was locked with a rusty, old-fashioned mechanical lock the kind that required a key, rather than a code.  Giving the lock a shake he found it was locked.

There was no sign of momement in the warehouse grounds, or from the warehouse itself, though Aryan's hunter's sense told him he was being observed.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Aryan, despite his sharp senses, looks casual as he looks at the building. He knows there is life in there....even if he didn't know the address, the signs point to it.

The gungan turned around and commenced looking at other buildings in the area, staying in sight of the building, looking at them up and down, then he sits on the side of the street in front of the building, and scratches his ear.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Aryan moved around to a less conspicious spot and began climbing.  Despite his lack of skill in the area, he managed the chain link fence without incident.  Reaching the top he tried to lift himself over the barbed wire but ended up cutting his arm and his leg.  He landed unceremoniously on the other side.  It hadn't been pretty, but he was in.  So far, nobody seemed to have noticed, either inside or outside the building.

Aryan, looking at his arm, winced, but shook it off and began looking around the place, moving quietly as he can, for a way inside or any tracks that show a common entrance

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

There was no truly concealed spot from which to approach the warehouse as it was surrounded by a chain link fence.  The best choice seemed to be the side that backed onto an alley which was less likely to have traffic.  About a third of the way along was a door.  It looked fairly sturdy, had an old mechanical key-style lock and was locked when Aryan gently tested it.  There was no other entrance on this side, save a boarded-up window on the second floor.

Meanwhile, from her vantage point outside the cafe Sheila noticed a parking officer was scanning car registrations, doing his job.  He scanned the stolen speeder they'd arrived in as part of his normal round.  He stopped in place, scanned it again and then pulled out a holocomm, dialled and then began talking into it.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

There are too many police around here, so much for hiding a needle in a haystack.  She pays for her caf and moves off into the streets.  She hadn't left anything in the speeder except fingerprints, which were bad enough, so now she just had to make a great big circle of the warehouse and stay out of the way of stormtroopers.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Diplomatic Team

Sheila didn't recieve a response from Aryan so she continued her sweep.  The warehouse looked quiet and deserted.  As she walked down an alleyway on one side she spotted Aryan.  He was within the fenceline, staring blankly at a door.  His position hid him from the road but he was clearly visible from the alleyway.  He didn't seem to be doing anything.
