I'm opening a new thread for all Talon comm chatter.  Chat on an open channel in a post.  If the comm traffic is private then pm it those people in this thread.  Hopefully this will make comms chatter clearer and remove the need to post across multiple threads.

"Talon Eleven to all Talons. Situation report, please." Cor's voice sounds, as always, quite calm.

"We're evacing under fire."

Mika, even more exasperated at yet another interruption, sets her tools down, grabs the comlink and thumbs the control.  "I am trying to get past the security systems so we can get the damn ship flying.  Given I'm having to stop every five minutes to answer the comlink, I expect it to take me another standard week and three hours."

An unfamiliar male voice suddenly comes over the Talon comm.

"You are about to be ambushed by two stormtroopers. There is one more at the front gate and someone, who has a couple of your friends stowed away and is waiting a lift out of here with them. I advice caution. They are approaching you from the north east."


OOC:  This is coming in on one of the Talon encrypted channels, the one Sheila and Aryan are using (and anyone else who is listening in).  This person has either sliced your frequency or he has a Talon commlink.

"Eleven, Four. Understood about the droid, searching for alternatives ..." he started to answer when another voice came over the comm.

"All teams check your positions, report. Unknown voice identify yourself." he said quickly over the comm.

<private comms channel>

The unknown voice speaks again.

"You can call me a friend for now. I know some of your people are moving away from a warehouse in an underground tunnel and they are about to be attacked by two stormtroopers. Third stormtrooper guards the compound main gate. I am looking at some of your friends, you left behind, including a rodian female and a lady with white-striped horns and head-tails. And please, do tell your people not to shoot at me. I don't think, that would be a good way to start a friendship. I'll hand this communicator over to those with me in the room."


OOC:  With the exception of Sheila, the rest of you will have no idea what he's talking about in regards to a Rodian and stripy-horned alien.

After a few moments silence, a new voice comes on, an unfamiliar female voice.

"My name is Raana.  Aryan is dead.  He died defending me and my people from a stormtrooper attack.  His colleague escaped with about a dozen of my friends, the rest were gunned down by the troopers.  She is trying to evacuate the other survivors in a cargo speeder but apparently some of the stormtroopers are giving chase.  The person who says he wants to help you is the leader of those troopers."

Cor's voice comes through the comms.  She still sounds calm and even-tempered.

"Raana, my name is Cor.  I am an Umbaran, a colleague of Aryan and his human companion.  Thank you for telling us of his death, and I apologise that we could not save more of your people.  Has the trooper leader harmed you in any way?"

"No.  No he hasn't." came the reply.

"That is something, at least.  Please, try and stay as calm as you can, we will do our best to get you out of there.  Will you please hand the comm unit back to the trooper?"

Then Cor switches over to several private channels.

"I'm on the open road, but we've been hit and the troopers are in pursuit." on the general channel, then she switches to the private channel that doesn't include the new voice.

"Troop leader, call me Alpha, please state your intentions. " he said over the general comms channel.

While waiting for a reply Xil follows Cor's lead switching to private channels.

Cor's voice comes over the comms.  "Trooper, as a gesture of your good intentions please address Alpha's query and also state what your orders were for your current mission, and the reason you are currently disobeying those orders.  All others," she adds, quite unnecessarily, "please restrict priority comms to private channels until further notice."

"It is pretty certain, my days in the service of the Empire are over, thanks to the help, I've already rendered to you. The orders were to kill a terrorist cell, which I can not say, I would consider innocent civilians to be. I can help you shake the stormtroopers and save the rest of those, who are with me, but I ask that you help me to get out of here as well in return. I understand, you might not trust me, but I can track the movements of each stormtrooper on a tactical display I have with me. Two of them are in pursuit of the speeder while one is at the compound gate, guarding it an the speeder that brought us here. Any ideas? For now, they have no confirmation of me going rogue."

"The two troopers in pursuit, can you shake them? If we take out the remaining trooper somehow, we can take the speeder that brought me and the squad here. I can also distract them for a while on the Imperial comms."

Cor pauses before responding.  "A terrorist cell.  Then either Imperial Intelligence is phenomenally stupid or they have lied to you.  I wish I were surprised.  Trooper, please contact your men and ask them to back off and follow at a distance, under the premise of tailing the 'terrorists' to see if they lead your forces to another 'terrorist cell'."

Then she switches to private channels again.

 Xil says over the private channels.

Switching to the same channel as the troop leader "I can understand your sympathies to innocents so we'll work on the trust issue. For the moment please relay the information as suggested to the troopers following my friend."

"If it comes down to it, are you also willing to help take out the two in pursuit and not only the one by the gate?"

"I'm listing to the left, I think a repulsor has been hit.  I have maybe a 20 second lead on them, I doubt I'll be able to keep it for too long."  She also relays exactly where she is.

Cor does stuff on private channels.  Yay commlinks!

"I will not fire upon the men under my command. I want you people to understand that clearly. I can, however, walk the one by the gate in to the building and disarm him or send him after the two with our speeder and tell them to tail you from a safe distance, but I will not purposedly fire upon them, despite whatever they stand for. I am sure you understand. As for Imperial Intelligence, it is an oxymoron."

"Troop Leader, please confirm you've slowed your troopers down!"  Cor's voice is gentle but firm.  She doesn't like not being able to see what's going on.

Switching between private and trooper enable channels as appropriate:


To the Troop leader:

"I understand not firing on your men. You will need to disarm and remove the comm of the trooper still left with you when directed however. Agreed?"

Cor works as swiftly as she may.

"We've 'lost' them. it looks like the plan is being followed.  We have slowed to the speed limit and are heading to the rendevous point"
