Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

The ship has just entered hyperspace and you're safe!  You're also back in one thread!  At present Devon, R2-A9 and Cor are on the bridge, Zyra and Mika are in the engineering section.  Arin, Xil and Rann are in the port hangar, Sheila is in the starboard bay with all (about a dozen) of the alien refugees in her damaged speeder.  The other speeder in the starboard bay houses a Zeltron, a Wookie and Raana.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

A fully armed B2 super battle droid is waiting in the port cargo bay.  With the ship safely away from the planet and in hyperspace the droid unerringly approaches the Troop Leader, levelling a blaster rifle at his chest.

There's no doubt it's a threat.

"By direct command, relinquish all weapons you carry upon your person.  You will remain unharmed unless you fail to comply.  Should you fail to comply you will be rendered temporarily inoperable.  Should you violently resist you will be rendered permanently inoperable."

Arin looked at the droid. "Would someone please tell this rustbucket, I already agreed to relinquishing my arms and that it might point its blaster somewhere else than at my chest?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

"This 'rustbucket' is the droid you are to relinquish your weapons to."  The blaster rifle doesn't waver.  "If you refuse to comply your status will be upgraded from 'potential threat' to 'active threat'.  If that occurs then I can no longer assure your safety aboard this vessel."

The droid's vocal tone doesn't change, a flat, metallic monotone.  Is it insulted?  Can it even be insulted?  Either way it has a blaster, battle armour and combat programming.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

"I sincerily think, this one needs a memory wipe", Arin said handing over his blaster along with his utility belt. "You want me to strip down and walk around naked as well, or...?"

Defecting was one thing, but being held at gunpoint by a droid with no sense of humor was certainly not what Arin had bargained for. He had given his word about handing over his weapons, but sending a droid to do that was far less than polite.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

"Your suggestion is noted but unnecessary.  Should you feel the urge to walk around naked that is your prerogative.  Your opinion regarding my functionality is also noted, but unimportant."  The droid takes the equipment very efficiently, holstering its blaster as it does so.  "Downgrading status to 'unlikely threat'.  Mistress," it continues, looking slightly upward, "shall I confine the defector to a room?"

"No need," comes the voice of 'Remote' over the ship intercom in the port cargo bay, as calm and quiet as always.  "I think we can safely extend that must hospitality - though I must ask you to stay out of both the cockpit and Engineering unless accompanied, Troop Leader - and, for your own safety, out of the starboard cargo bay.  Some of our other passengers are very distraught and may be less... professional than the droid you have just met.  As CC9 states, however," she continues with the faintest touch of humour, "do feel free to strip down if you feel it absolutely necessary.  CC9, please take Troop Leader's equipment to the captain's quarters."

Arin didn't really feel very welcome, but as he was not confined to quarters, he begun looking for a common area, he could lounge in for the moment. He would have preferred to get out of the bulky suit of armor, but having no other clothing than it, there was little choice for now. Perhaps these people would give him something to wear later on.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

"Certainly makes an impression doesn't he." an unfamiliar voice behind Arin said.  Turning, he saw an attractive Zabrak female smiling warmly at him.  Her attire was unusual to say the least.  Her hair was heavily made up and she wore gilded gold leaf on her horns which made her look ready for a very exclusive party.  Her clothing however was a faded set of coveralls that looked many sizes too large for her.  She was barefoot.

"Don't take it badly, I promise you will have your time to tell your story.  But for now I strongly advise you take your armour off.  Please remember that the starboard cargo bay is full of refugees, refugees your troopers have attacked, killed their loved ones, their children.  I don't want an incident where you are attacked simply because you are wearing the armour of a stormtrooper.  Either you would get hurt or you may be forced to hurt them in self-defence.  Neither option is pleasant to me."

"May I strongly suggest you let me offer you a change of clothes then you spend your time in the port cargo bay.  Your men killed one of my people but I can assure you you're safe with them.  Some of them are Imperial defectors and I can promise you they weren't trusted at first either.  Trust takes time wouldn't you agree?  We haven't given you reason to trust us either!"

"I'm Zyra by the way"
she adds almost as an afterthought.  Her smile is warm and genuine.

Cor slips out of her chair, careful not to look over at the viewport as she says to Devon, "I need a little time - a couple of hours, maybe - to run some diagnostics on A9 and CC9.  Let me now in the unlikely event that you need anything."  She offers him a smile and then heads on out, speaking into her comm first in Basic and then in her native Umbaran.

As soon as she's out of the cockpit area she heads for one of the berths, R2-A9 in tow.

Arin looked Zyra over from tip of her horns down to her bare toes in a quick glance. Despite the uneasy feeling of being alone in the middle of people who just a while ago had considered him an enemy, he was able to let out a slight smile. "The name's Arin Branden, ex-lieutanant junior grade of Imperial Navy Squadron at Phindar Prime - got sent here as a sort of a punishment. And those refugees, I was the one who helped them escape, so I suppose their feelings towards me might calm down eventually. As for the clothing, I would certainly not mind for something else - I never really got accustomed to this bodyglove underneath this armor. It gets pretty clammy." He grimaced slightly while speaking about the bodyglove, indicating how icky it felt.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

The wookie looked around the hangar bay, Pacing as he went. The Wookie, not acustomed to be stuck in a place he can get out of, was glad for teh help of the strangers who helped Heigren, and thus himself.  Not only that, he respected and aplauded their tactic and (more importantly) their motives.

The Wookie, cracking his neck, looked at his meagar gear, consisting of what he had on him at the time.  A Bowcaster that was well used but well looked after, a Wicked looking Vibro Axe, and a small, beat up droid that rarely floated far from his side.

His bowcaster strapped over his back, the Wookie nodded to himself and walked up to a woman in the hangar, one that drove one of the speeders, and growled in his gutteral language, the droid Following him.

"I mean no harm. My name is Grayrhynn.  I would like to talk to the commander of this ship."

The wookie shook his head, suprised that the droid was accurate in his translation.

Zyra leads Arin to the refresher station.  "Better get in before the others think to use them.  There's clothes in the cupboard next door.  I'm sure they'll fit you better then they fit me.  Though I'm sure that body glove of yours looks appealing too."

She gives him a knowing wink then adds.  "I strongly recommend you keep to the port cargo area when you're done.  There are too many refugees who would have negative feelings towards you, justified or not.  The trip is only going to be a few hours.  Besides, you'll get to meet my colleagues and they're an. . .interesting bunch."

"I'll be around somewhere if you need me."
she says before walking off, leaving Arin to wash and change.

Arin glanced a slit smile at Zyra and proceeded to getting put of the armor and in to the refresher. He emerged a moment later and slipped in to a nondescript jumpsuit that was a decent fit, as well as a pair of utility boots he had managed to scrounge from the closet. He piled up the Stormtrooper armor and stuck it in to the closet to wait for better days.

What came to the refugees, Arin was not overtly concerned. Raana and the few others who had seen his face he had let escape and despite the fact, they had armed themselves in his presence, none of them had tried anything.

Arin sat down across the table from Rann. "Well, I might, but I don't have any credits. Kind of left them in the pocket of my other uniform." The statement was followed by a slight grin. "We can play for no charges, though, to pass the time."

Cor soon returns to the cockpit, after only a few minutes (and not the few hours she originally specified).  Sitting herself down at the syscomms station she speaks over the ship-wide intercom.

"Passengers and crew please note the cockpit is off-limits to all unauthorised personnel.  There will be a droid standing guard outside the cockpit entrance to assist passengers and staff in heeding this in the case of a misunderstanding."  Her voice is calm, pleasant, very much an airport announcement kind of voice.

With that she taps her commlink and speaks a few words into it, in her native Umbaran.

Once she's done Cor then closes and locks the cockpit door.

Mika had taken a look at the passengers when she helped get them on board.  But as soon as that was done, she headed back to the engineering bay.  If there was nothing else to pull her attentions, then she'd start working her way through the computers and see what it would take to slice new command codes, and a new transponder recording.  It didn't make sense to steal a ship and have it retain it's old name and registry.

"I'll loan you some credits." the Zeltron tells Arin.  "Raana tells me you saved her life and that's good enough for me.  I'll sport you a thousand credits.  You can keep any winnings and I'll cover your losses.  Sound okay to you?"

When Arin talks of CC9 and the girl he hasn't met he shrugs.  "I'm in the dark as much as you.  All I know is they saved my life, the life of many of my friends and now they're flying us offplanet, hopefully to somewhere we can rebuild, far away from Imperial space.  If that's the case, they can be as humourless as they like.  Of course maybe it's the whole Imperial Stormtrooper bit.  I can tell you a few of my travelling companions would happily stick a vibroblade in your belly.  Mine too probably when they hear I'm gambling with you."  He says it all with a smile and a tone full of humour.  Heigren is clearly someone who always looks at the positive in life.

He turns to Rann.  "So what's your story?  Let me guess.  We have an Imperial stormtrooper sitting next to an alien 'terrorist'.  Hmmm, that must make you a Hutt crime lord?  Jedi Master perhaps?"

OOC:  Heigren is suggesting the stake be set at 1000 credits.  Anyone want to get in on this?

SHeila glanced up as the wookie approached, she'd been looking at the speeder that they had just stolen from the rental place.  Well, at least Mika would probably get her money back.  That was the best that could be said for the situation.  THis was her fault, she should have been able to come up with a  place for them to go before going in, and then they couldn't have been  caught like this and Aryan wouldn't be dead.

In answer to the wookiw, she stuttered a little. "Um, yeah,  Just a second. " She got onto the come.  " 1, 9, one of the refugees would like to talk to the commander.  Grayrhynn,"  She probably mutilated his name.  "The wookie.  In the hangar bay,"

Exilim had remained sitting in the imperial speeder for a few minutes after it had been taken aboard the freighter. He was in a reflective mood now that they had managed to escape. A lot had happened in the course of a day and he knew that the Commander was not going to be happy about a lot of it. Not only had they not completed their primary mission on planet, but they had also lost people.

Looking around the imperial speeder he sighed deeply before heading out. He allowed himself some time to move through and take in the layout of the cargo area of the freighter, noting where various groups had positioned themselves. He had reached the spot where Rann was holding his sabacc game when he heard the comms chatter between Sheila and Zyra. He had intended using the fresher, but work came first, he would try to make time later.

Over the comm "Nine, Four - please send the information to my datapad as well so that I can also get started on the transfers."

Devon sniggers at the fiance comment.
"Who knows?"  Grinning at Cor he stepped back through the open door and thumbed the button to shut it.  Turning round, he nearly walked straight into CC9s' massive armoured form.  Slipping round the battle droid, Devon looked up into its impassive face.
"I would say something about not sneaking up on people, but I imagine this one was my fault..." he pauses for a moment.  "Anything?  no?  Guess not."  After waiting expectantly to see if the battledroid would spontaneously develop a sense of humour, Devon sighed and ambled off down the corridor.  "My genius is totally wasted on these people..." he grumbled as he headed for the galley.

A few minutes later Devon emerged carrying two mugs of caf and a plate of munchies with a pastry gripped firmly between his teeth.  The engineers staple diet he thought with some satisfaction as he headed to engineering.

Nodding to Mika, Devon plonked the plate and one of the mugs of caf down next to her.  Sitting on a handy crate, Devon munched on his pastry for a second before looking round at Mika.

Cor sits by herself in the cockpit for a while, staring at the syscomm screens.  These past forty-eight hours most certainly hadn't gone the way she had expected.  The loss of a team mate sits ill with her, and while she tries not to focus on it too much just yet the awareness of the viewports of the ship gnaw at her nerves until she finds herself casting about for something - anything - to think about instead.

"You are not built for this, Ms Lambar," she mutters to herself, and pulls her datapad out.  She briefly considers checking a few of her assets but finally decides against it.  External transmissions linking the ship to her belongings don't seem like a good thing to be allowing just now.

Instead she starts sketching up some designs and plans for a model of droid that's been bumping about in her head for a little while now.

Just a small droid, a little thing - but useful.

She hadn't realized she was hungry until Devon set down the refreshments, but as soon as he does her stomach starts rumbling.  "Hey, thanks."  She pauses to take a bite, followed by a sip of the caf.  "I don't know, we didn't do all that badly.  I've heard bits and pieces though that maybe the others weren't so lucky."

She gives a shake of her head, not wanting to get distracted with such matters.  "I'm working on slicing the command codes for the ship.  I'd like to take a crack at the transponders, but I doubt we got time for that.  Oh, that reminds me..."

She activates the ships comms, "Bridge, 10 here.  The transponders are going to be a tough nut to crack.  Better pick our landing sites pretty carefully until we get it sorted out."

The battle droid, who indeed didn't respond to Devon's joke (either because it didn't understand it or because it thought it wasn't very funny) starts calculating kill routines to pass the time.  Every guard's gotta have something.

So far, it would seem, the newcomer wasn't really going to say very much about himself or his background. Of course, Rann had an idea about who he was, though he hardly knew much more than hehadlearned on the field.

It' funny how it works - the CO practically got a pat on his back and I was shipped to a backwater planet for garrison duty that also required me to serve as infantry. Upon hearing shelia's answer, the wookie again growls a few short growls. "Thank you. i wi..." the Droid then issues static. Grayrhynn growls to himself, and glares at the Droid. He nods to Shelia, and then walks out of the port cargo area. He looks around and goes into the starboard cargo area. Spotting the only person he knew, Heigran, he walks over to the group and watches the sabac game. Grayrhynn never understood the game, but appreciated the skill.

Grayrhynn let a small growl escape, and nodded to Heigran. He knew that most were human here, and probably part of the rescue team. He knew this was a perfect time to see what these guys can do.  Grayrhynn's Droid, floating just behind him, beeped, and the woo ie closed his eyes and shook his head.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

<Four hours later>

The next few hours moved in a blur of motion.  The sabaac players only got to finish one hand before Xil called Rann away to help with moving of supplies.  With nothing better to do Arin, Heigren and Grayrhynn pitched in.

In engineering Mika and Devon quickly got the command codes reset and programmed so the Talons had control.  They weren't able to replace the transponder codes as they needed time to go through databases and either create one or 'borrow' and existing code.

The transport's destination proved to be a small planetoid with a limited atmosphere.  The air was thin but managable.  Quickly the group offloaded the stormtrooper speeder before the transport took off again.  Inside the speeder was all the Talons, along with the critically wounded aliens, Aryan's body, Heigran, Arin and Grayrhynn.  Heigren was staying to keep an eye on the wounded aliens, Grayrhynn electing to stay with his Zeltron friend.  Arin, knowing his best hopes of survival lay with the mercenaries had also come along.

Zyra had stayed on board to Ghtroc transport along with Raana, the refugees and the two speeders.  Her plan was to relocate the aliens to a new world and then return.  The moment the ship was cleared it lifted off into space.

The cargo elevator on the Nightshrike was down and Xil drove the speeder straight in.  The entire speeder was lifted into the cargo bay and the hatch sealed.

There was a flurry of motion as Cor's droids came to assist.  PK droids immediately began unloading stock and providing stretchers.  A 2-1B medical droid arrived and began to assist Sheila with the wounded.  A pair of B1 battle droids stood around looking all. . .battle-droidy.

Through the cargo bay, an authorative voice rang through the intercom.  "Debriefing, twenty minutes.  Cor, you have permission to remote.".  Several of the Talons frowned.  The commander did not sound happy.

With the droids do so much of the work the team had time to grab a quick bite to eat, freshen up and change clothes.  All except Arin who had no clothes to change in to.

Every Talon was in the dining room in less than twenty minutes.  It was well known by the Talons you didn't make the commander wait when he was in a bad mood.

He turns to the others.  "For now, the rest of you can explain your actions.  I send you on a simple recon mission.  Watch a fuel refinery, observe their movements.  Should have been a cakewalk for a single Talon."

He consults a datapad.  "Instead I have one dead Talon, three missing.  I have my XO bailing you out.  I have firefights across a planet.  What I don't seem to have is any data on a refinery.  What the Sith happened down there?"

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Grayrhynn was both suprised and pleased by the leadership this man showed, as well as the respect that his men showed him as a leader. The man, though blunt and authorative, was by far one of the better commanders he had seen or served under.

The wookie stood inpassive to the side, arms behind his back and listening to teh debriefiing.

His initial notice was to their fallen comrade, from what he could surmise, a gungan and a warrior of some skill.  From the pieces he's patched together, he died in battle saving some aliens.  Even tholugh he generally thought gungans a 'flighty' race, this wrrior died with honor, and he respected him for it.

As things went though, his thoughts drifted to the missions the team had been on.  He knew of one, the one some of the aliens have talked about, rescuing aliens from stormtroopers...the one this gungan was a part of.  Though he died, and some aliens perished, some also got away.

But now, this other mission, a simple recon, causing havoc was interesting, and though he was curious to see what had gone wrong, he also knew in the heat of battle, sometimes plans changed.

The wookie however showed no outward sign of this....he stood to the side looking at the group, the  commander and listened.

As they offloaded, she gave a snort.  To Devon, "Oh sure, we go to all the effort to jack the ship, get the command codes all sorted out and what happens, Zyra jacks it out from under us."

Given a few minutes before the briefing, Mika runs off to not only grab a quick change of clothes, but to take a turn in the fresher.  The sewer hadn't been as disgusting as it might have been, but it was nice to feel fully clean again.  Despite her edforts, her new set of clothes look much the same, gray, baggy coveralls, boots scuffed to the point that thei color could only be guesses. We took a while figuring which way to go.  It was decided that Devon, A-9 and I would see about some transportation. We jacked the freighter and here we are.  I'm not the expert on what the others did."

Mark frowns.  "Well while we wait for Mister Nallis, lets examine the rest of the mission.  I'm basing this off the XO's report so feel free to add anything I miss.  She writes that after the troubles in Seba Grove, she ordered you all to head to Sorren.  She'd split you into three teams.  One group she assigned to harras an Imperial Senator, one was to acquire a starship and one to rescue a group of civilians from Imperial assault.  By the end you managed to acquire a Ghtroc 720 transport, escape off-planet with a dozen refugees with the loss of one team member in the process."

He turned to look at Cor.  "The XO speaks very highly of your exploits Ms Lambar.  She states that while the two of you did not achieve her primary objective that the pair of you, aided only by your super battle droid managed to infiltrate the residence of a highly placed Imperial Senator, downloaded his database, gained total access to one of his security droids and acquired a high level diplomatic clearance code to get off-planet.  She cites your ability to co-ordinate various teams and feels this may be an asset in the future.  We will have need of it."

He turns back to the group.  "Now the transport should be mentioned at this point.  XO states that while Mr Kismet and Ms Trake actually stole the ship it was a team effort.  Ms Lambar's droid actually got you into the spaceport, Mr Kismet's team provided needed support for the XO to get the clearance code needed to get you all off-planet.  Even Ms Master's efforts kept Imperial resources diverted.  As such the XO feels the decision regarfing the Ghtroc should be a group decision and I concur."

"The choices are simple.  We can sell the ship on the black market.  It's higher risk but promises the best return.  The credits would be equally shared between all Talons.  Secondly, we could return the ship for a 'finders fee' to the relevant insurance company.  It will be less pay but is low risk and could generate some goodwill with some local companies we can use in the future.  Finally, we can keep the ship for further operations.  There can be no reward for this as there will be no credits incoming, in fact it will cost money to modify the ship enough for undetectable use.""

"We should also consider the stormtrooper command speeder.  We again can choose to either sell it or keep it.  If we sell it the proceeds will be shared evenly.  If we keep it there can be no credits."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Cor nods elegantly at the Commander's acknowledgement of her actions.  She looks thoughtful at his words regarding her work on the comms and glances briefly at CC9 as if reminding herself of something.

The Umbaran listens intently to the options regarding the ship and speeder.  "A simple answer that would also, unfortunately, result in less financial gain for all of us individually, would be to sell one off and use the money to fund the refit of the other.  Regarding the Ghtroc," she says lightly, "I would suggest that Ms Trake and Mr Kismet have a little more weight than most of us in the decision as they did secure it, but for my part I believe it is a matter of scope.  We could sell it now or return it for a quick and perhaps sizeable reward, but keeping it may - if we can determine a way - allow us to recoup a great deal more money over time.  If we can manage to devise a way to make money from it - perhaps doing supply and passenger runs or smuggling operations alongside our normal activities - we may be able to use it to further our common goals and make enough money on the side that it would make keeping and outfitting it more worthwhile."

She looks around, perhaps for an opinion, perhaps to see how many people she's managed to aggravate this meeting.  "If nothing else, having identification and credentials - if falsified - as a trader, merchant or commercial freight service would give us a ready-made cover for getting teams down planetside when we need them there."

Cor taps a finger thoughtfully on the table as she continues.  "Regarding the speeder, that is a very different issue.  It is recognisably military tech and outfitting it to seem more innocuous would be a waste of time.  However it may prove invaluable during paramilitary raids and assault manoeuvres.  It is armoured, yes?  Do we know the exact specs of the vehicle, its capacity, capabilities, armour quality and operating parameters?"

She glanced over at the Zeltron, eyes narrowed, in the classic expression of the movie goer looking at the rude kid behind them who on't shut up, then she turns her attention back to the leader of the group.  Sleeping with?  OK, MArk was good looking, even in furious, something she'd never really thought of.  She let her mind go in that direction for exactly 2 seconds, and brought it right back to where they were and were supposed to be.  Speeders and ships.  And explanations.

"I would suggest that Ms Trake and Mr Kismet have a little more weight than most of us in the decision as they did secure it, but for my part I believe it is a matter of scope.

Devon looks up from fiddling with his datapad.
"Cor, please..." he said  "the COPS call me 'Mr Kismet.'  I get nervous when people start calling me that."
He looks round at the group. "She is right though, at the moment our transport options are either the cruiser - sorta easy to notice - or hire someone to help us get places.  I'd kinda like to keep the Ghtroc and refit her for our needs.  Basic refit would be changing the transponders, and enough cosmetic work to prevent the old owner from recognising it if we fly past.  Say... a week."  Devon looked to Mika to see if she agreed. "A week?  Maybe two?  Transponders are the tricky part."

Devon paused for a moment whilst he checked something on his datapad.
"But if we did want to sell her... I'd guess we can get about 25,000 for her.  But what I'd like to do is keep the transport, sell the speeder and put that money toward refitting the transport.  That means we'd see no profit from the sale though..."

Devon  glanced around the table, he sorta expected that last option to not be very popular...

Arin Branden:
"Some things you just don't crack jokes about", Arin whispered.

Heigran snorted.  "Of course you do.  There isn't a rulebook on humour.  And if there was, you should set it on fire and use it to light some fireworks."

Seeing that several people were staring at him, the Zeltron pulled out a datapad and pulled up a game of virtual pazaak.  Seriously, these people took themselves far too seriously.  He was tempted to go raid the kitchen for some whiskey but figured he could wait a while.  Maybe things would get more fun.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Mark looks around the room.  "Seems most of you have nothing to say about the transport and speeder.  Cor and Devon seem to agree they would like to sell the speeder to make modifications to the transport which we would keep.  This arrangement would result in no profit for any of you.  If the rest of you have an opinion on this speak now or live with the decisions made.  We have other business to discuss."

OOC:  Going to give people 1 more day to post to this (to keep with the 3 day posting rule).  Then we'll move on, especially so we can get Arin, Grayrhynn and Heigran involved.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Cor looks around curiously.  The near-complete lack of discussion seems a bit unusual to her.  She smiles at Devon before nodding slightly - the 'Mister Kismet' point has been made, certainly - and waits for someone else to put their opinion forward.

Her droids don't comment.  This is organism talk.

"Well honestly, i  wouldn't mind making some profit off this, just so I can pay MIka back for the speeder that we just sent with the rescuees and have a little money left over.  But if she can wait, I can wait."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Mika finds herself a little uncertain on the whole thing.  On the one hand, it seems almost pointless to her to have gone through the effort of jacking the ship only to turn around and give it back, or sell it.  Still, it was a nice little pot of cash the commander was talking about and of course the main thing was to get off planet, not start building up a fleet of freighters.  Which reminds her, she'd offered quite a sizable loan to Sheila, she'd have to verify where things stood with that.

She didn't care much about the speeder, selling it wouldn't net any great windfall of cash, especially if the proceeds were used to update the freighter.  Her reverie is interrupted though as Devon speaks up.

"What, uh, yeah...  Well, I've never sliced a new transponder code, but I can't imagine it'd take more than a week.  I've also not looked over the speeder, so I can't really speak well as to what I think needs to happen there.  But I think before we spend a lot of time in figuring out what to keep or what to sell, we need to figure out what we'll need.  Anything on the books that calls for a freighter or a speeder?"

CC9 checks a couple of settings on his blaster rifle.  He's not subtle about it but, then, there's not much a B2-series battle droid does that can be accurately classed as 'subtle'.

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

"No doubt with the flexibility of our organisation we could adjust our objectives to suit either," Cor suggests, nodding to Mika, "to take advantage of such or to do without.  And while I can imagine we all have quite a need for liquid assets we can certainly turn either the speeder or the transport - particularly the latter - toward gainful tasks."  She enters a few notes on her datapad as she adds, "If we were to keep one and sell the other I would say that as Mr Ki- er, Devon suggested the transport would be the better option.  From a business standpoint it is by far the more valuable unless we intend to raid small outposts for resources."

Re: Act 4 - Sidebar - Debriefing

Mark cut in.  "Perhaps we shall leave this discussion until after you have been briefed on our next mission.  I can assure you neither the transport or speeder will play a role and if things go well, I can promise you all a noticeable increase in your credit accounts.  By the Sith, pull this mission off and I'll treat you all to a week's leave, all expenses paid. . .That's all reasonable expenses paid Mister Kismet."  Mark deliberately uses the more formal name with the shipjacker.

He turns to the group comprised of Heigran, Grayrhynn and Arin.  "The three of you are not members of this group but you all have reason to hate the Empire.  I will tell you that this group is a hybrid paramilitary/mercenary group.  Our goal is simple, to attack the Imperial war machine.  If you join with us I promise you will never be asked to directly attack a civilian target, our fight is with the Empire.  Our next sortie will require all the skilled hands I can get so I make you this offer.  Join us now and help us attack the Empire.  If you do not wish to be involved, I must ask you to leave now."

OOC:  Since I don't expect anyone to leave, I've started the new thread.
