Re: Act 5.1 - Claws District
On the way to the MedTent, Dohr could see the human girl was not too happy about going there for a thorough check out. He could also see she probably wasn't really hurt at all if one didn't count the bruises here and there and the headache that would certainly still be there when the painkillers wore off. But she was her patient now and he took no chances. He needed to take a couple of scans to be 100% sure.
As the speeder slowed down, the doc noticed another human female waiting for them. This one too, at least to human standards, was young and pretty, but had an air of experience to her as well. It was clear to Dohr they weren't locals. These girls had seen some action elsewhere before their arrival to Det Akari. K's misfortune at the tracks already proved as much. But that wasn't anything extraordinary. The planet was a fairly popular stop for a lot of people from all walks of life.
Doctor Veen ushered K towards the tent and nodded his greetings to taller woman as she approached. He asked for a medic to pass him a bioscanner. He did have a handheld mediscanner in his bag, but it wasn't quite as powerful as the one at the med-centre. The bioscanner required more power and wasn't quite as easy to carry around, but it paid to use one whenever possible. Noting K's squirming, Dohr ran the scans as quickly as possible. Nodding again, he was satisfied with the results. No ruptures, internal bleeding or infection.
Looking up from the scanner, the Kel Dor offered his free hand to Sheila. The Kel Dor smiled as much as his kind ever did and spoke to her as a doctor might to an elder sister or even mother. "Doctor Dohr Veen, a pleasure to meet you. There is no need for you to worry about your friend K here. She has had a concussion due to a fairly heavy blow to her head and suffered some bruising, but otherwise K is in excellent condition. I have already given her an injection to take away the pain, but I would advice her to take a pill or put on a patch for the night."
Before Doctor Veen had a chance to say anything to K, she'd already headed over to her swoop. As the traces of oil under her fingernails and her worry over the bike had already told him, K had to be a techie - an engineer. And her apparent discomfort near strangers and words to her friend made Dohr pretty sure. It made him smile. At least she wouldn't get herself killed in combat.
