The uptown area of the city is a grand mass of towering habitats and mexaplexes housing countless souls and millions of shops.  Whole districts are dedicated to some form of commerce or another - casinos, restaurants, adult entertainment, clothes, tech, pets, vehicles and so on - with all of the higher-class establishments being right up the top of the towers.  The lower down one goes the lower the establishment with the middle-class shops only getting grimy half-light through most of the day and the cheapest places in perpetual shadow from their gargantuan neighbours.  The brilliant glare of neon-bright holovid ads and banners light the whole scene with a garish blaze as shops try to out-do each other, peacocking for shoppers' attention.

Across the air zoom airspeeders, both private and public transports, locked to their automated destination flightpaths.  Like many major urbanised worlds drivers don't have to do much driving until they need to get on or off the flightpaths at unexpected junctures.  The net effect is that while the whole scene looks unbearably crowded the traffic continues to flow at a very tolerable rate.  Landing platforms are generously wide and many have a security guard or two loitering around as people disembark.

There's no lack of options no matter what the distinguished (or even not so distinguished) shopper is looking for.  A few of the more wealthy tourists even hire small landspeeders with drivers to chauffeur them to whichever shop they want to go to.

Janine let Vyn choose the salon and set up the appointments, after checking to make sure she had enough money to cover everything.  She found a taxi to take them there and let Vyn tell the driver where to go.

Heigren knew exactly where he was heading, already having looked up the best spas on his datapad back at the hotel.  The journey there was neither direct nor fast as the Zeltron seemed to be distracted constantly by various sights, sounds and attractions.  He approached many commonplace attractions like it was the first time he'd ever been there.

Finally reaching the spa, he flashed the person at the front desk his best  smile and said.

I'm here to make sure this lovely lady has such a relaxing time she feels like she's floating on repulsorlifts.  I want the full relaxation treatment for both of us and credits are no object.

Heigren will refuse any attempts by Sheila to pay for anything.  This day was his treat.

The spa in question isn't right at the top of the tallest building but it is the uppermost floor of a tower nearby, offering excellent views of the surrounding urban vista.  The rich opulence of the place is immediately obvious in the holographic art on display in the waiting rooms, the high-class furnishings and the perfectly manicured and body-sculpted attendants.  The few clients - mostly businessfolk - there look very wealthy indeed and more than one is greeted by name as if a regular.  On a world covered by city the issue of relaxation isn't a small one amongst those who run companies.

The attendant who sees Heigren and Sheila is a beautiful Cathar woman with soft patterning on her desert-yellow fur and a gentle sway as she walks.  As with all fo the attendants here she's dressed in an exotic-looking robe that seems halfway between stylish dress and bathrobe.  She looks as if she could be on bathroom tiles or (ahaha) a catwalk with equal grace.  After greeting them pleasantly she seems delighted by Heigren's choice.  "Well, sir," she says smoothly, "it certainly is nice to see someone out to treat their lady well.  You'll want our complex neurostimulus package.  Massage, specialised aromatherapy, cytotoxic boost, hair styling, skin treatment - it's very comprehensive."  She doesn't need to add 'and expensive.'  "We'll need to take some biological readings before we get started," she adds, tapping a datapad up with a collective charge and passing it to Heigren for his approval and details.

In a very professional manner she angles it discreetly so that Sheila doesn't get a look at the screen unless Heigren wants to let her.  'It costs how much??' is probably heard here on a semi-regular basis.  "The package comes with complimentary comfort robes as well," she adds as Heigren's looking over the datapad.  Running a hand down one of her hips she indicates that the comfort robes in question are the same sort of thing that she's wearing.

Sounds wonderful, I'm all for 'complimentary comfort'.  Heigren gives the Cathar a look that clearly suggests he'd rather see her robe lying on the floor, then quickly hands back the datapad.

Take whatever readings you need, my body is at your disposal.  Would you like to start with me or my work colleague here?

Sheila isn't sure about this, but Heigren won the argument in the taxi.  SHe'll just have to hope she has enough money to cover anything he can't.  She suspects they will be spending the rest of the vacation in the hotel room playing board games and eating the provided meals.  She waited and let the Cathar tell them which way to go.

"We can cater to both of you.  It won't take a moment," the Cathar says, subtly ignoring Heigren's flirting (though her smile grows a little wider).  Her kind mate for life so chances are good that if she has a partner that his charm is blocked by her instincts, but she might be partnerless and simply too professional to rise to his throbbing bait.

She guides them both into a tasteful room with a few booths separated by curtains, like an emergency department at a hospital, joined by a second attendant, a tall male human.  They take a sample of their hair and weigh them, then get them to fill out medical report forms stating any past illnesses or injuries as well as any allergies.  The forms end with a short disclaimer and a waiver (for insurance reasons).  With those signed and returned the two are then taken into a different section of the spa.

The next few hours are... remarkable, to say the least.  An hour of full-body massage eases away tension.  Exotic substances slathered onto their skin cleanse the follicles and revitalise (as well, Sheila is pretty sure, as containing a few ingredients that should be great for healing scar tissue).  The attendants stay by their side for most of the process, explaining what the substances do and speaking to them in quiet, calming voices that almost carry a hypnotic quality.

Later, wrapped in their new comfort robes, they are transported on beds (outfitted with repulsorlifts) to a separate room that they call the 'aromatic chamber'.  They're left alone in their comfort robes (and nothing else) with emergency buzzers should they become claustrophobic.  The aromatic substance, the Cather explains, is called <tilexil and it functions by stimulating the nervous system, causing a sudden spike in neural activity followed by a state of relaxation (similar to a TENS machine in function but without external electrical sources).

Soothing music plays as the room slowly fills with an aroma similar to jasmine and sandalwood.  After only a few seconds of exposure to the substance the pair begin to feel a pleasant tingling fill their bodies.  It's a strange sensation of stimulation and relaxation coming one after the other in long, rolling waves.  This stuff must be very popular - or very expensive.  Before too long they're easily too relaxed to concentrate on anything much other than the feeling of being a wave on a calming beach.

Some time later - they have no idea how long - the air starts to clear and a new scent they can't readily describe is pumped in.  It takes a while but their senses are cleared and they feel very refreshed and aware.  The attendants come back in, then, equipped with rebreathers.  Wheeling them out they head to a different room where the beds are folded up into a more chair-like shape.  Discreetly removing their rebreathers the attendants then buzz about the pair, washing and styling their hair as they best wish.

Finally, after a few minutes to get their bearings, they're led out to the clinic-like room again.  Their clothes are returned and their comfort robes are taken away to be replaced with new, fresh robes to take away and keep.  The pair of them feel like completely new people as they're led back out into the spa foyer.

Somewhere between the Jasmine and the hairstylist, Sheila' s stomach starts to turn.    She should've put her foot down at the beginning.  She asked the attendant.  "May I speak to someone please."  Very quietly she added. "My coworker says he's paying for me and I have to know what I owe him."  Internally, she's kicking herself. so long as it's less than 3800

The Cathar comes when called by Sheila but her earnest plea seems to fall on deaf (or at least initially unhelpful) ears.  She speaks to the human in calm tones, quietly enough that Heigren isn't privy to the conversation.  "Please, be assured that the bill is already paid for in full, and a gift given in the spirit of generosity doesn't need to be repaid.  Your colleague has a good heart and while I would not hazard to suggest that his motives are entirely pure," she adds with a mirthful grin, "I have met people like him before.  To many Zeltron the act of providing comfort and pleasure is reward in itself.  If the issue of being in his debt bothers you that much," she adds after a pause, "then my suggestion is to put it out of your mind, enjoy the treatment and be at peace.  Then, when you're back at work and his guard is down, pump him for all the information he's worth."  She gives Sheila a crafty wink and then gets back to stylin'.

Janine sighs and settles back to let the stylist finish.  Honestly, the woman had taken care of her main fear, that of this being totally out of their price range (ok, it would be if this was anything more than a one time thing.)  Of course, the other issue might be control issues, hers.  Letting go was hard, letting someone else be in control was hard.  "It's kind of hard to let someone else drive, if you know what i mean."  SHe saw herself in the mirror and tried to keep her jaw from dropping.  She hadn't looked this good since prom.  And she hadn't been able to replicate that look either afterward.  The stylist seemed satisfied with her reaction.  "You know, the rest of them won't recognize us." she commented to Vyn

She got dressed again and took the package containing the robe.

Heigren wasted no time whisking Sheila out the door, down to ground level and down the street.  He had memorised the location of his next stop and it was only a few blocks away so we walked.  This time his stop was not a high-class spa or luxury botique, but a fairly ordinary looking cafe.

Sliding into a booth he looked at the menu briefly then waved over a server.

We'll have two of your. . consults the menu again, Galaxy-class hyperwave sundaes with an extra jug of chocolate fudge each and two cups of caf.

Once the server had gone he smiled at Sheila.  Having fun Janine?  I've never got to do anything like this in my life.  Not sure how I'm going to fit everything I want to do in the time we have here!

The serving girl who comes up to take their order is a partially attractive Human girl.  The parts that aren't so attractive are still pretty, though; they just happen to be metal.  About a third of her body appears to be made of cybernetic prostheses - both legs, one arm, metal plating over part of her abdomen, diode webs across her throat and one side of her face.  While she does her best to hide the diode web attached to the left side of her face (by letting part of her long hair hang over that cheek) the rest is buffed to a burnished shine.  She's not the only staff member here who has prosthetics, either - a little over half of them do.  She has easily the most extensive, though.  Her name badge says 'Jadda'.

"Welcome to the Iceberry Parlour," she says automatically, her voice carrying that metallic burr of a synthetic voice box.  It lends her beautiful voice a somewhat exotic quality.  She writes the order down and nods.  "Great choices, sir.  I'll be back shortly."  She offers them both a smile and heads off.

"So, have you figured out where you want to go to dinner and which show, and what the dress code for those places are."   and are you going to have any money left for tomorrow. "We've got two weeks, got to spread it out a little, make sure we don't run out of spending money."  inside she wonders what might have happened to the girl, and the others, she has a bad feeling it probably involved the Empire and possibly the various rebellions and the interestions between.  She made a mental note to read the history of this planet more thoroughly.  "SO what else are you thinking about?  You sure you don't want to fly swoops?"  She teased  "Although it sounds like it's going to be more than a one day thing for them, so we should show up and watch at least once."

Heigren shrugged when Sheila mentioned money.  I've spent my whole life without money, only having what I could earn, beg or steal.  I've gone many a day without food or shelter.  So the concept of having no credits tomorrow doesn't worry me.  I can always get more.  Besides, I still have a room in a 5-star hotel and 24-hour room service, all free.  Hardly roughing it.

He looked at his datapad.  Not fully decided what I'll do tomorrow yet.  There's an art gallery showing Twi'lek post-modernist holographic art.  There's also a durosteel plant and speeder manufacturer that offer tours.  Whatever I do, it wont be swoop bikes, not my idea of fun.  I might wager on them though.

As for the rest of today.  Just sit back and enjoy the ride.  He grins mischeviously.

Janice raised her hands in surrender.  He had a point, there were always board games.  "So  how fancy is this place tonight?"

Fancy enough that we'll both have to go shopping for fancier clothes this afternoon.  I planned to go shopping anyway as I only own two pairs of clothes and I've patched them so many times I'm not sure what colour they originally were.

Indeed his clothing would seem out of sort with the locations he's visiting today.  His clothes are a motley collection of various styles and colours which are faded and patched many times.  They wouldn't look out of place an a vagrant.

"Well, then, after we pad our stomachs a bit, I suppose we should go shopping. " She pulled out her padd and started looking up the appropriate stores for the fancy gear and then the more moderately priced stores for the other stuff.  Then the ice cream sundaes and caf showed up, brought by the pretty waitress.  The size of the things negated the need for lunch, well, probably the need for any calories for the next two days.  "Well, I'm going to be good until dinner. This takes me back to being a kid,"  She looked at some of the dresses in the ads, noted that she would need new shoes and she would have to find some good costume jewelry that would work for other things, should she ever have to truly dress up again.  "The factory tour sounds interesting, so does the art museum, think we could fit them both in?  We can ask the others tonight if and when they're playing swoops again, and we can show up and cheer them on.  Kimy  and a couple others might be interested in the factory."

Everyone should do whatever they consider to be fun.  Otherwise what's the point of living?

Heigran eyed the gargantuan sundae before him.  He tasted a small sample of each component: nuts, chocolate, wafer, ice cream.  He stared at the pot of chocolate sauce then looked up at Sheila.

Um Janine.  How does one eat these things?

Janine hid her smile.  "In small bites, with a spoon.  Is there any part of it you don't like?  Now that you've tasted them all?   If so, scrape that out, pour the sauce over it and Don't eat too fast.  Not allergic to any thing that you know of, are you?"

You mix it all together?  Seriously?  Heigren looks truly perplexed but follows Sheila's advice.

First he carefully pours the entire contents of his of chocolate sauce on the sundae and then picks up his spoon and scoops up some sundae, ensuring he got a little bit of every component on the spoon.  Then he tasted it and grinned.  His look turned to one of surprise, then awe.

That's amazing!  I've never tasted anything like that before in my life!

He began eating it faster and faster then suddenly dropped his spoon and grabbed his head.

Arrrgh!  What's happening?

"I told you not to eat too fast..  It's the cold. Just stop for a bit and drink some caf, slowly'".   She will watch him carefully to make sure it's not just the ice cream headache.  And she WILL NOT laugh.

Heigren drank some caf as Sheila directed and slowly the pain went away.

Owwww.  This food should come with a warning.  Very tasty though.

Heigren continued to eat, just a LOT slower.  As he ate he spoke to Sheila.

This is definitely a day of firsts for me.  First world I've visited other than my own.  First time I could walk down the street without worrying about being arrested.  First time I've eaten an ice cream sundae and first time I've been in the company of an ex-Imp. . .uh. . .someone who used to work for a certain group, who's throat I haven't wanted to slit.

He toasted Sheila with his caf as he made the last comment.

"I appreciate that.  Of course, remember what your job is."   THey're supposed to be undercover.  THey're supposed to actually be imperials.    "Now, eat carefully.  These are big."  She flipped through the shopping guides, looking at prices and finds a couple midpriced boutiques.  "How about these for the regular clothes, And then this."  She found a store that looked like it would have clothes appropriate for the restaurant level she understood him to have in mind, at a level she thought they could afford. "For the nice stuff.  We'll have you properly clothed."

He ate more slowly as instructed, waving away Sheila's concerns about their cover.

Surely you don't believe people don't hurt and kill each other just because they belong to the same organisation.  Especially the organisation that we're talking about.  'Accidents' tend to be an occupational hazard from your friends as well as your foes.

Heigren compared his notes with Sheila's.  He'd planned to travel to a shopping complex he had found on the net.  It seemed to have a variety of fashion stores from basic through to the ultra elite. 

Want to have variety.  I have a lifetime of shopping to catch up on.

The shopping opportunities, predictably, are extremely good.  Anything from hobo-chic to high fashion are available within a very short trip.  They could spend several fortunes just on shoes, if they so chose.  One thing they don't find anywhere within the district, though, is a second-hand clothing store.  Presumably that would be far too down-market, dahling.

"I suppose that looks good.  Lots of stuff in one place.  However, may I suggest that we get the regular clothes first, midlevel, then go for the fancy stuff.  Get your clothes to match your looks."   They'd made headway through the icecream sundaes, but honestly, one would have done for both of them, plus maybe Mik, , , ,Kimy too.    And she had to give him his comment about the imperial military,   There had been reasons she'd left. On the other hand, there needed to be some care taken, even here.  At the same time, hopefully no one to take offense at them being 'imperials'.  That could be bad too.

Heigren seemed surprised Sheila wanted to shop together.  That's fine.  I can watch you climb in and out of slinky garments for an afternoon.  Lead on.

He inserted his credit chip into the payment slot and paid for their food, leaving a healthy tip as well.  He moved towards Sheila.

Let's shop!

Sheila hails  a taxi to take them to the mall area that Vyn had mentioned.  This time she pays.  Once they get there, she will help him find some regular clothes.  It's her opinion that she has enough regular clothes, but Vyn needs to be outfitted.  Only then will she start shopping for herself.  AT the same time, it's obvious she grew up middleclass, her tastes are almost stereotypically imperial middle class.

The 'mall' is really a collection of building complexes.  They could get lost in here for days looking at clothes.  A vast array of stores spreads out in front of them as they enter - clothing stores, electronics stores, personal droid sales, haberdasheries, general stores, grocery stores, the occasional adult entertainment store, cafés (presumably for when people get too hungry to shop) and more.  It's an impressive sight and it's difficult to know quite where to start.  As they enter, though, they notice several well-labelled maps.  About three minutes of planning a route has them set and off they go.

There's a lot more in the way of fashion options for women than for men (which is pretty typical, really, right across the Galaxy) but nonetheless both of them have tons of options.  Whatever they want they can get - with the exception of some particularly specialist kink-related clothing, there are other districts for that - as long as they have the creds.

(( OOC: Feel free to describe what sort of clothes you get and what you get up to.  There's a lot to do here and by the look of it lots of different species; Zeltrons are amongst them so if Heigren isn't feeling relaxed now - particularly after the day spa treatment - then he's probably never going to be. ))

Janine finds a fullservice men's store with fashions and prices she recognizes from the map and ads and steers Vyn towards it.  "Why Don't you get a few changes of clothes from the underwear out. 1 to wear and two to take with, then we can look for dressy stuff, then fill in whatever you need.  If you don't like these styles, you can get the basics here and this this and this store have different styles."  Again her choices are very stereotypically middle class.

By the time Sheila has finished talking she notices Heigren had wandered off.  He isn't hard to find (he draws a lot of attention, especially from women) and Sheila would quickly spot that he's walked into a far more vibrant, far less practical and much more expensive looking store across the way, specialising in vibrant formal wear.

JAnine shakes her head and catches up to Vyn.  "Fine, get your formal wear first."  The only thing she's concerned about is possibly a Pretty Woman reaction to his clothes, such that they won't even look at his credit stick first, but he's grown up and laid back, so she'll wait and see.  And the spa didn't.

The formal-wear staff do their best to disregard Heigren.  They really do.  If they had their way they'd Pretty Woman the living crap out of him but the fact is that Heigren has a certain magnetism to him that makes him difficult not to like.  He is Zeltron, after all.  Soon he's charmed one of the shop girls so much that another is actually trying to out-bid her for attention.  The two buzz about the Zeltron holding clothes up to his admittedly quite tasty body, suggesting outfits and subtly trying to out-do one another.

Heigren thoroughly immerses himself in the experience.  At the insistance of one of the girls he removes his shirt so they can better 'measure' him.  The whole time he looks at the various clothes they show him.  Anything drab or monotone is instantly rejected.

"No, not that.  Oooh maybe, does it come in any other colours.  Ooooh is that silk."

He sees Sheila standing off to the side.

"What's up Janine?  Not having fun?"

He whispers something to one of the shop girls, sending her into a fit of giggles.

Sheila shrugs,  "Just enjoying the view."

No charge for window shopping.

THe Zeltron became fully immersed in the act of shopping, trying on clothes and accessorising.  He either didn't realise or didn't care that he often walked out of the changerooms in only a pair of underpants to a room full of stares and girlish giggles.  Usually it was to ask for a new style of trousers or a different size.

Finally Heigran settled on three sets of clothes.  One formal suit, a plush nerf wool double-breasted jacket and slacks in a rich and vibrant purple.  It was accompanied by a black silk shirt with no tie and several buttons undone, shoes that were shiny enough to act as mirrors, all topped off with a purple top hat and a golden cane.  It was a thoroughly ostentatious affair, but Heigren managed to pull it off.

His other two sets of clothes were more modest affairs, sets of casual wear in vibrant colours.  The set he decided to wear was a rich emerald green casual suit with gold trim and an orange shirt.  His most mundane item was a set of brown walking shoes, very practical and thus boring.  Heigran was of course unhappy with them but the store had nothing to his liking so he settled for them.

He moved over to Sheila.

Well it's a start, but I'll need to do lots more shopping today.  But what about you?  Maybe its your turn to enjoy shopping and my turn to 'enjoy the view'.

While waiting for Heigren to finish his casual shopping and having verified his fancy dress, she moves into the women's section of  the formalwear.  Nerf purple? but she could match the black and gold.  Maybe purple trim.  She e glanced arioud the women's section.

Heigren followed Sheila over to the women's section and began looking at the various clothes, whispering to the girls following him still, even though he'd made his purchases.

Honestly, her tastes are more mundane, there's not much here that she feels is basic formalwear. She's looking for a basic black dress, sheath or otherwise.   It's either too 'out there' or the cuts are far too high or low or seethrough for her tastes.  Finally realizing this might be a dangerous thing, she asks Vyn what he thinks, between the two most basic and plain black dresses they carry..

Heigren looked aghast.  No.  No.  Absolutely not.  You're not dressing for a funeral here.  You need colour.

He grabs one of the serving girls around the waist and pulls her in close whispering in her ear.  Then the two rush off into the rows of women's clothing.

About a minute later Heigren returns with a dress.  If Sheila expected a plunging neckline and short skirt she would be disappointed.  The dress was a flowing formal dress in the classic design whose train reached almost to the ground.  It had a single shoulder strap on the left side adorned with a simple floral arrangement.  The only other accompaniment was a slightly ruffled sash.  The entire affair was a deep turqoise blue.  Overall the dress was very elegant, simple but stylish and undoubtedly more expensive than the dresses Sheila had chosen.

Brings out your hair.  Heigren observed.  A classic design, full of colour.  I'd day shoes and bags to match and maybe a small piece of jewellrey for a finishing touch, say a bracelet or watch.

The girl with Heigren nodded in agreement though wether she actually believed this was a good idea or was simply smitten with the Zeltron was anoyone's guess.

Whenever the Talons check their holomail during the day they find a message from Zyra.

We hope you are enjoying your leave and contract bonus. For anyone interested we will be discussing how to spend the company dividends tomorrow night in our reserved dining room at the hotel, 1900 local time. Attendance is entirely optional - S. Starflare.

Heigren seemed surprised at Sheila's lack of response.  He was having trouble reading her.  Did she like it?  Hate it?

He shrugged and quickly found another full length dress, though this one was strapless and emerald green in colour.  There was numerous small crystals sewn into the bodicework but otherwise the dress was fairly unadorned, a classic design.

Ladies, ladies.  Please go help Janine try some of these dresses on.

He gently restrains one of the girls as they begin to hustle Sheila off.

Not you.  You haven't finished helping me.  He gives her his most devillish grin  leading her back towards the male change area.

Janine wAs taken by surprise at what he had chosen for her, given what he'd choa.d. for himself, that and she hadn't seen those, she'd only registered the too this or that cut ones.

"They're fine. Sure."  She followed the sales girl to the back and started trying on clothes.  She checks out the prices too.

The sales girl following Heigren giggles nervously but readily follows. 

The one assisting Sheila is less enthusiastic but then she seems as if she's less enthusiastic about most things.  She's a Twi'lek, one of the rarer family lines, bearing scarlet skin and impressive black rosettes - almost like a big cat.  The entirety of working in customer service is probably taking its toll - or maybe she's just having a slightly off day.  She's quite ready to help Sheila in and out of clothing, though. 

Prices run to the expensive; before accessorising the dresses range from 150 credits to several thousand.  There's everything from dramatically low-cut push-up dresses (the kind that have a vee down slightly below the navel, similarly low-cut sides that bare the ribs and the sides of the breasts, and a few ornamental chains at the front to stop the whole affair falling off the body) to elegant classy dresses that cover the form from throat to toe and come embellished in lace and sparkling clasps at the throat and cuffs.  Any colour of the rainbow (and any shade) can be found here.  There are even white 'blanks' that can be dyed any colour and cut, fringed, ornamented or slashed any which way the customer might want.  This is a really full-service experience.  If Sheila really tried she could burn through several million credits on just a handful of dresses if she wanted to (and had the money).

Heigren returns from the fitting rooms about ten minutes later and checks in on Sheila.

Well Janine.  How did you go?

She tried on the two dress Heigren had picked out, the blue one was nice, very nice, she was having the deja vu prom feeling again looking at herself in the mirror, although the green one was nice too, she prefered the blue one.    On the way in, after she had said something to her about trying on sexy ones too, just to test the comfort level, the girl had gotten three other dresses, 2 somewhat reasonable, but not as suitable as the blue one when she put them on, and then the last one.  This one was over 2000 credits with amazingly little material used in it, but the purple in the accents matched the purple of the nerf suit.  Standing still in it, it looked like an ordinary skirt and  blouse. Black, with vertical purple metallic threads running through the skirt, but once she moved, it was obvious that it was more of a grass skirt thing attached at the hips and at the bottom of the fitted strapless bra top.  If she sat down, it would be impossible to keep her legs covered, as the skirt was literally a fancy miniskirt (very short) covered in floor length expensive black and purple metallic string.  To make things even worse, the woman had found a pair of 3 inch strappy heels, black, well formed, that went with all the dresses,   With the blue one, the heels looked appropriate; with the string affair, they added to  the look that was,  well, slutty.  Expensive, kept woman of a very rich man, but very obviously not his wife, or even his official mistress, but just there for the sex slutty.


She stared at herself in the mirror, trying to figure out what had possessed her to ask for this type of thing.  "Interesting, but I don't think I could wear this outside of the bedroom."  Not without the accessory of a deep red blush, which was slowly developing at the moment.  Trying to imagine her mother's reaction to the dress just made it worse. "But since we're going out, the first dress, the one shoulder blue dealie, would be more appropriate."

She's wearing this dress, getting ready to go back in and change when Vyn checks in on her and the blush develops much faster.  "UHm the first one you found Vyn, the blue one."

Well it's certainly eye-catching. What does the rest of the outfit look like?

"It's fine if I stand absolutely still.  But no, I think I'll go for the first one you picked out.  I had the bright idea to ask her," she nodded at the twilek.  "to pick out something sexier, to test my comfort level, and this was very successful in doing so."

You mean that's all of it?  Heigren seems genuinely surprised.  He appraises Janine for a moment.  Well that dress certainly makes a statement.  Though the statement it makes is not one I'd care to repeat.  I think you're much better off in the blue dress.  Hard to enjoy yourself when your clothes could fall off any second.

"Oh, it's not going to fall off, just doesn't cover." She heads back into the changing room to get redressed.  The shoes are fine.  The blue dress is fine.  And she eventually recovers her proper face color.

By the time Sheila emerges from the dressing room again, Heigren ha sorted out all the tedious parts like payment and shipping.  He then given one parting wink to the girl who served him and leaves the store.


Heigren began to wander aimlessly.  Poking his head in this store and that, finding intense pleasure in commonplace products.  He spends a good five minutes admiring an all-in-one food processer, another five staring at a holomovie cinema.  Most of all he seems fascinated by the amount of food people throw away - half eaten lunches, discarded snacks and the like.

All in all, whilst this was fascinating for the Zeltron it would probably end up becoming quite boring for Sheila quite quickly.

The Twi'lek who was helping Sheila gives her a small shrug and a wry smile before taking their purchases.  She and the woman who helped Heigren organise how the goods will be folded and delivered; Heigren's helper advises she'll drop them off at the hotel herself.

The rest of the day, it seems, is theirs.

After dragging Sheila round another dozen or so stores with items that Sheila would find commonplace but Heigren seems to find fascinating, the energetic Zeltron finally stops for caf at a small cafe.

Heigren continues to regale Sheila with stories, tales and other general chat.  Out of nowhere he says, He likes you you know.

Seeing Sheila's confusion, Heigren subtlely nods his head to the right.  Third table back, green jacket.  He's been checking you out for the last ten minutes or so.

If Sheila looks over she does indeed see an attractive human male in a green jacket three tables away, but he seems engrossed in a datapad and his cup of caf.

The time following 'Vyn" around is in combination, fascinating and boring; boring because it was, well, boring, and fascinating because of what he was fascinated with.  But stopping at the little cafe was a relief.

She sipped her caf, then took a good look at the green jacket man, then turned back to Heigren.  "Well, it's up to him, I'm not exactly looking right now."  She registered as much as she could from the look, she'd like to be able to recognize him again.

Heigren adds a mild tone of reproach to his voice.  What's up to him?  To come and talk to a girl who is sitting with another guy?  A guy who doesn't look her brother and isn't dressed like a work colleague?  The logical conclusion would be I'm your mate.  Would explain why he looks away whenever I look in his direction.  Not many men would try to chat to a girl sitting with her mate and I doubt many women would like the kind of man who does.

"Good point." She peered back at the man in the green jacket. "Wait here." She located the freshers, down the aisle beyond the man, then she got up and walked back past him, into the fresher for about thirty seconds, washing her hands.   As she passed back by the guy, she got a good look at him and smiled at him as she went back and sat down with 'Vyn' again.

OK, give me a description. does he look familiar to me, have I ever seen him before, and all that, species, gender, looks, not that it'll tell me anything.  Sheila Masters rolled 5 using 1d20+2. int roll..

When Sheila returned to the table, Heigren wasn't there.  He was speaking to a small group of people near the serving counter.

The gentleman in question is a fairly attractive human male, who looks like he's in his mid-twenties.  He is above average height with an athletic build/  He has brown wavy hair with green eyes and clean shaven.  His clothing consists of a suit with no tie.  He is reading a financial report on a datapad while drinking a cup of caf.  He smiles back at Sheila as she walks past before returning his attention to his datapad.

Heigren is still at the counter talking to a small group of people.  He now has half a dozen people around him as he talks.

Heigren finishes talking to the various patrons and customers and wanders back to the table.  Well? he asks Sheila.

SHeila shrugged and didn't keep her voice down. "i don't know, good looking enough, but at the same time, this is just a vacation, and I'm not all that into" She stopped a moment, trying to think why she was trying not to do this.  She took out her pad, got into the internets, made a throwaway email equivalent account tied to the Janine Carstairs id, memorized it quickly, should only take a moment or two, and got back up.  She went back toward the table with the man sitting at it, sat down accross from him and stuck out her hand.  "Janine Carstairs.  My coworker back there told me you've been checking me out for the last 10 minutes or so.  So anyhow, we have plans for tonight, but if you're interested, I'm available tomorrow or the next few days for dinner or something, we're here on vacation.  If you're not, it's ok, sometimes he reads into things,  I'll go away and you'll have a story about some strange woman trying to pick you up."  She smiled and offered him her 'email'.

The man seems quite taken aback by Sheila's quite overt approach.  He does not take her hand initially, with a cup in one hand, a datapad in the other and his mouth slightly agape, he almost appeared frozen in time.

Composing himself, he put down his cup and pad and tentatively grasped Sheila's hand, then accepted her holomail address.

"Kyle.  Kyle Brannen.  Uh, sorry you caught me by surprise."  The man seems embarrassed, his smile was awkward and his face was slightly flushed, though wether that was from Sheila's approach or being caught 'checking her out' was anyone's guess.

"So you're on vacation?  Where are you from?  Not Det Akari, I can tell from your accent."

She had read her background, and memorised it.  "Corulag, the capital." Fortunately, where she'd grown up.  "Originally anyhow.  Vacation, retreat, actually I am busy tomorrow evening, but around that I'm free."   She shrugged and cocked her head to the side,  "Work or pleasure, which are you here for?"

"Oh definitely work.  Though I must say pleasure is looking more promising.  I'm an account managed for a finance company up on level twenty-six.  I'm just about to have a late lunch."

Seeing Sheila was settled at the other table, Heigren rose.  He popped a quick message to Sheila's datapad saying 'Back in ten.  Tell me if you want me to take longer.'  He then drains his caf and leaves the cafe.

"So you live here?  Makes sense, gotta have people besides tourists.  You lived here long enough to know any good places to go? I've got the tourist pages, but that's all."  She looks at the message on the tablet and nods at Heigren.  Will do, may take a couple min to be sure. back to him on the padd.

Kyle shrugged.  "What do you like to do?"

Janine had to think a few minutes, not only had she not been on vacation in a long time, she had to think about what she would like to do in a nontouristy fashion.  SHopping, going to restaurants and shows was pretty much covered by the tourist pages.  "NOw that I think about it, it's a dumb question.  I don't think I've actually been on a vacation as an adult, and as a kid, my parents were into strictly 'educational and cultural stuff." which basically meant stuff that was good for you, but not interesting.  .  Heaven forbid it might be fun too.  And local, we never really traveled, Dad never actually took off work. Vyn and I are going out for dinner and a show tonight, but he's keeping it a surprise, he was mentioning a factory tour tomorrow, which does look interesting.  We've heard of swoop races, but I think, other than any gambling, we can take or leave those, and I'm not that into gambling."  She shook her head.  "Sorry, that probably sounds stupid in it's turn."

"Sounds like you've got plenty of things planned then.  You hardly need my advice."

She sat up businesslike. Coy wasn't her style anyhow. "You're right, I don't.  Was my coworker reading you correctly, because, like I said, if he wasn't, I'll just go away and you can tell your significant other that a strange woman tried to pick you up and you escaped by mentioning them."

Kyle sighed and looked over at Janine.  "You seem very concerned with what your friend thinks and suggests.  Why don't you tell me what you think? Did you only come over on a dare from your friend?  You suggest you're trying to 'pick me up' but you've spent most of your time telling me what you and your friend have planned and you really have no time for anything else.  Are you just looking for a 'booty call' of some sort?"

"I'll admit, I was admiring you from a distance.  You are certainly attractive, you are in the company of an alien who seems to have the attention of every female in eye shot.  Also you seem to exude confidence many people don't.  I thought it would be nice to get to know you, though I assumed that alien was your boyfriend.  I wasn't after a cheap one-nighter or anything.  Not my kind of thing."

"Now if you want to get to know each other in the brief time you're on vacation I'm all for that.  However if your dance card is full for this trip then I really shouldn't be wasting your time."

There is no hint of anymosity in his tone, just a gentle calmness.  He seems entirely sincere in his words.

"We're on the first day of vacation, I haven't planned anything beyond today, maybe tomorrow, and a work meeting tomorrow evening.  I've got 2 weeks otherwise.  And it wasn't a dare.  It was a 'why not?' more than anything, since I'm apparently too dense to actually catch  you without the assistance of the people with me. I don't like walking around a new place alone, and we were interested in doing the same thing today while the rest of the group wanted to go see races. "  She wrinkled her nose a little at the memory of the bugs in the teeth comment.  "Not that I don't like vehicles, I'm just not into racing."

She leaned back a little in the seat.  "So, Mr Kyle Brannen, since we've determined that neither of us are attached nor looking for one night stands, I guess the question might be where I might find you the day after tomorrow if we were interested in anything else.   I'm presuming you are working tomorrow during the day and wouldn't be available.  I wouldn't want to interfere with that, since you have to live here after I leave." 

Kyle quickly writes down a comm code and holomail address.  "Either of these is fine.  Just let me know when you're free and we'll see what we can do.  Of course if you decide what things you enjoy I wont have to just suprise you.  So far all I know is you don't like gambling or one night stands!"

Janine adds the addresses to her padd.  "Well, it was nice to meet you, Mr Brannen, I'll let you finish eating and go back to work."  Then she'll make sure the caf was paid for and send a note to Vyn.  "Done."

It took a good ten minutes for Heigren to respond via commlink.  "You're finished with him already?  I expected you to be a lot longer than that!"

Sheila snorted.  "Vyn,  I've got a theoretical date day after tomorrow, he works, he's on his lunchbreak.  You know how long it's been since i've tried to pick up a guy? Name of Kyle Brannon."  She's going to 'google' both him and herself before the date.

"Always room for a little fun during the work day."  A little snort can be heard across the comm, like someone was stifling a giggle.

"So I'm going to be a little while.  I thought you'd be longer.  You want to catch up later or wait for me?  You could even check what the others are doing."

In reply to Heigren (msg # 76):

"Give me a call when you're done." .Ooc what time is it in this thread compAred to the claws district one?

Sheila will then place a call to kimy,   If Kimy answers her beep, she will ask  "did you guys find a race?"   She;s trying to be unobtrusive, if kimy is actually racing, she wouldn't expect an answer.

Kimy takes the comm quickly.  "Yeah, we found a race.  It's gonna start in a few minutes though, so we'll probably all ignore comms for a while.  I'll call when it's over."

Sheila will catch a taxi out to the claws district and the racing aread.  Doesn't look all that healthy, but she keeps a close hand on her credits, padd and id,   The gm will let us know when she gets there.

Just as she climbs into the taxi, Sheila sends a good luck to all four of the racing group (she'd paid attention as to which. Of the others had run off together.)
