Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Jit hardly listened to Mister Teckla’s and Dohr’s sayings, as he mostly focused on spotting more gorgeous-looking party girls around him. While the fixer’s gaze was wandering at the area, he absent-mindedly commended to the host of the party: Yeah… Little fun… Room eleven… Sure… Jit also missed Mister Teckla’s generous offer to order any drink he wanted, although it didn’t matter much since he seemed to enjoy his current free drink a lot already.

It was Dohr’s last comment that awakened Jit from his fantasy world. …How Twi’leks can be sometimes? You mean like ‘pretty annoying when they get too horny’? Jit laughed and grinned. I’m crystal clear outspoken when it comes to my intention with women. Naturally have suffered quite a many slaps on both of my cheeks - not to mention a couple of well-aimed kicks to my private parts -, but believe me gentlemen: there’re always girls who get hot on straight suggestions, dirty talks and lekku tricks.

Jit grinned again and waved both of his lekkus erotically. He was about to continue when a human female joined the trio. Since it appeared that the woman wanted to speak privately with their host and Mister Teckla was having busy times anyway, the Twi’lek made a suitable suggestion:  We better get going Major Veen, have wasted too much time of our excellent host already. Let’s hit the dance floor first, followed by a visit to room eleven. All the ladies, here we come! Follow me, my friend! Shaking hands with Mister Teckla and making a polite nod to both the Zeltron and the Human, Jit was ready to dismiss and start having fun.

The Twi’lek had secretly eyed the female woman from top to toe as well. Even though she looked a pretty one, the woman wasn’t even wearing an evening dress (OOC: Please correct me if I’m wrong on either case). Sorry Hon, not interested!

Arin gave the Iktotchi a grin. "Any other day I would jump your offer and raise several rounds of drinks, but there's something I need to do now, hun", Arin replied. "I'll do my best to find you once I've done what I must." The reply was followed by a wink, suggesting Arin might follow through with his promise, even though he had no idea whether he would do so. It was to be seen, whether the Iktotchi would let him pass just like that.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Sheila, wearing touristy clothes more suitable to going to a holo or to a mall, not for a party, placed her hand on Vyn's arm, just to make sure he didn't get away, and returned the frank stare of the twileck. If he can read humans, he would recognize that she was not in a good mood, and the talk she was going to have with Vyn was probably not one Vyn would want to hear.  She nodded to the doctor, she might manage to have him not evicted until after he gave Mika another once over, properly paid for.  Then she turned to the Zeitron. "DOes the boss know about this party?"

Heigren beamed as Sheila came up behind him.  "Janine my dear, I was hoping you'd make it.  Let me introduce you to Jit 'Shak and was it Veen?"  He'd missed the Kel Dor's full name admist Jit's rambling.

When Sheila pulled him aside and asked him about if Mark knows about the party he shrugged.  "Well it's been on social media for nearly two days and the hotel staff have been letting everyone know for me so I'd assume he knows.  Haven't seen him here though.  Are any of the others here with you?  Or did you bring that scrumptious man you met the other day?"

In reply to Heigren (msg # 47):

"None of us saw it.  You could have mentioned it.  I wouldn't be sure if they saw it or not.  We were told there have been complaints from the floors above and below about the noise, so you need to either get them to reduce the sound or get them out of here.  If you want, you can put them all in your suite?"     She stopped a moment, got on the taloncom to try to contact mark, or Zyra.  "Boss, Sarah?"  All the whilel holding Vyn's arm.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

With a surprised look on his face, Devon glanced around quickly, clearly wondering if the lady had grabbed the wrong persons hand by mistake.  When she tugged at his hand again, a slightly disbelieving grin spread over Devons face and he allowed her to drag him onto the dance floor.

I'll probably make a fool of myself, but what the hell? he told himself - after all, what he had been able to hear from his commlink - which wasnt much over the music - implied that things were (more or less) under control... or at least, no one had started shooting so far.

Knowing she probably couldnt hear him over the music, Devon half-yelled
'Hi!'
Hardly original, but it was a start.

"You mean you didn't get your invitations?  Any of you?"

He tapped his commlink.  "De'brek, you handled invites.  Did you deliver them to floor one twenty-seven?. . .Yes I know that's the floor of the party. . .No they didn't. . .I told you EVERY floor."

He sighed and clicked the comm off.  "Seems the guy I had doing invites assumed everyone on this floor knew about the party so didn't send you all invites.  I'm sorry about that."  His smile returned.  "But you're here now and can let the others know.  Going to be an amazing night."

He didn't seem concerned about the complaints and when Sheila mentions the complaints he nods.  "Six in total.  Four have since joined the party, one has accepted my gift of champagne and snacks, the last I'm working on right now.  I'll handle that, you just enjoy yourself.  We're on shore leave remember?"

And can you pay for the damage they are going to do to the hotel?  Not to mention Kimi's room's minibar, people just went in there and got into it. Heigren sighed.  "Credits, permission, clean up.  You're so focused on the future you're missing the here and now.  No I didn't get express permission from Rainbow but he did tell us we were free to do what we wanted."

"Stop worrying about what will happen tomorrow and live a little right now.  You have a party going around you.  There's a great band, lots of food and drink and lots of interesting people.  The Kel Dor you just saw was apparently a doctor and I think I heard his friend say he used to be in the military.  I'm sure you two could have a great chat.  If not there's people of all kinds here.  There's politicians, business people, artists, military, sports people, all having a good time.  Please be one of them and try to have fun.  You can question me to your heart's content about credits and damage and permissions and all that tomorrow.  In exchange trust in me and try to enjoy yourself tonight."

He turned to the next group of people.  "Welcome friends to the party of the century. . ."

Flash took Sheila's place in the doorway as she rushed off to find Heigren.  He made no move to do anything though.  This was Mika's issue, he was just here to serve as backup if she wanted it.  As he waited he alternated between watching the corridor and the video feed on his datapad.  When he saw Devon dancing with the Falleen he supressed a grin.

'At least someone is having fun'. he thought.

Part of him was tempted to give up any attempt at security, grab a drink, a fight, a girl and just have fun.  This side of him battled with his sense of duty, the latter part winning. . .for now.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Bowing slightly Dohr thanked Vyn for handling the issue of the redundant drink he'd given earlier. About to give a compliment or two about the host and the party, the doctor was interrupted by Jit, who was obviously very eager to go mix up with the other partygoers. Perhaps surprisingly, the Kel Dor did for once agree with something his "friend" said, although he had absolutely no intention to go dancing or visit "room eleven" what ever was going on in there.

But before the former soldier had a chance to say anything to the Zeltron, he noticed a familiar looking human female approaching. It was the "big sister" of the rider who'd crashed on her first round of the race at the Tracks. The Duros had called her Doc and she'd even given Dohr her card. It took his storming mind a second or two dig up her name from the depths of his memory. But by the time she reached them, he got it: Dr. Carstairs - Janine Carstairs.

At first Dohr thought she might be coming to greet him, but from the look of her face and the way her eyes had been locked on Mr. Teckla, it was clear the two knew each other well. The woman seemed to ignore him completely, so Dohr assumed she didn't recognize him. Yet he wasn't going to leave before he'd had a chance to say thanks and goodbye to Vyn. Naturally when Janine asked for privacy, Dohr bowed and took a couple of steps back.

The sharp goggled eyes did not miss the somewhat angry glance the human doc cast at the Jit and Dohr was slightly surprised to find himself feel anger for a heartbeat too. Didn't Jit understand that not all women wanted the kind of attention he was giving them? No wonder he was in such a big trouble with his girlfriend… Then her eyes fell on him and he got the nod he'd been hoping to see. The Kel Dor didn't really understand why he felt good about her recognizing him after all. He knew the female was quite beautiful as far as humans were concerned. Hell, Jit's lusty stare proved as much. But he didn't fancy her, like he didn't fancy anyone right now and as a Kel Dor, he preferred his own kind anyway. Yet seeing a friendly face, even if somewhat frustrated at the moment, was nice. The day had been extremely long and quite terrible so far. So perhaps a chance, no matter how remote, to have a chat with a fellow physician might make him feel a bit better.

"Ah, doctor Carstairs! How very nice to see you a…" She probably didn't hear much or even any of it, as the good doctor pulled Mr. Teckla aside and by the looks of it, began to pick at him. Not wishing to intrude, Dohr bowed again to them both and moved to follow Jit trying carefully not to trip anyone with his cane.

Not actually letting go of Vyn, Sheila got back on the Taloncom to the Talon group at the party.  "Can we meet at Kimi's room, no I don't think the boss or sarah knows about this, but maybe they read the socialmedia when we didn't, they won't answer their coms.  We need to decide what we are going to do, whatever it is.  Should I bring Vyn with me?"

The Zeltron firmly but gently disentangled himself from Sheila's grip.  "Don't trust me then.  But Vyn,", Heigren made a point of the name, not appreciating having Sheila trying to dictate his actions. "remains here as this is his place.  You are free to do as you wish Ma'am."

He returned his attention to his guests.

In reply to Heigren (msg # 57):

Her tone gets more warning in it. "Vyn, The point being, the rest of us are here too, and this affects us.  If they were all in your room, then it wouldn't.   You didn't get anyone else's ok before you put it on social media.  You never said, ""I'm going to host a party that will make it difficult for you to get to your room and unable to use any of the rest of the floor that was rented for us, not to mention complaints."  I didn't say the rest of the team was going to tell you to end it, I said we needed to talk about it, kimi's room is the meeting point, because all these people are just going anywhere, I don't think she invited the people who went into her room, but they just went in.  May the Gods' help you if anyone goes in the boss's room, or sarah's, or mine.  Do you understand?"  Then she smiled sweetly "And I think you ought to be in on the decision. It's more likely to go your way if you are."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

While Sheila spoke her piece, Heigren answered a comm call, wrote two datapad messages and greeted the next guests, a pair of humans.  It wasn't that he was ignoring Sheila, nor was he trying to be rude.  His responsibilities forced him to continually multi-task.

When she had finished, he looked her squarely in the face.  "I don't believe in Gods Janine, only demons.  They're called Imperials and they force oppression and destroy freedoms throughout the galaxy.  But not here, not tonight.  I'm not going anywhere Janine, I can't.  If people broke into a locked room then I would know of it.  The staff are watching for such eventualities and would alert me immediately.  Now please excuse me as I have work to do.  I'll happily stand trial and face my punishment. . .tomorrow."

"One, I think they just followed her in, but there's alot of them.  And two , this isn't about imperials etc, this is about respect.  Not making sure that the rest of your coworkers knew about this, and agreed to the massive inconvience this will make for them, doesn't show alot of it."  SHeila will then follow the waiter to Mika's room.  "it's (mika's room number)."

During the walk back to the room, she's thinking about things.  Heigren didn't take care to make sure the rest of them knew about it, he didn't clear it with the boss or Sarah, but what are the chances that they didn't know about it.  Surely the hotel adminsitration had to know, and certainly would have checked with Mark.  That was the next thing to check on.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr had a look at the direction Jit had disappeared and considered his options. The room with the dance floor looked somewhat intimidating to him. He had never enjoyed swaying alone or with a partner or even multiple partners to the rhythm of music, be that human, Kel Dorian or any other. The doctor liked music as much as the next man or probably even more. But the sounds filling the air of the whole floor weren't exactly his type of music, if it was music at all. And it certainly didn't make his hips move one bit. No, he'd let the Twi'lek enter the jungle of sweaty bodies without him.

As he stood a couple of meters from Vyn Teckla and doctor Carstairs, Dohr couldn't help overhearing parts of the conversation they were having. Back at the tracks Dohr had thought Ms. Carstairs could've been the racer's - K's - elder sister. But now it seemed she was more like a mother figure for more than one of the group's members, if that was what Vyn Teckla was. Dohr felt more than a little guilty about catching a few words here and there. He did his best not to listen, but the woman was clearly very concerned and spoke quite anxiously while forgetting to keep her voice low all the time. The noise from the loudspeakers hid most of the things said between the host of the party and the female doctor, so Dohr didn't get any details and he was pleased he didn't.

He tried desperately to find a place to escape to, but didn't really succeed. During his years as a doctor and criss-crossing the galaxy, Dohr had learned to sense the mood and motives of people from their body language, voice and words. And right now, although Vyn was being very polite, Dohr had a feeling he really didn't want Ms. Carstairs breathing down his neck as he was receiving new quests. The Kel Dor was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable and knew he had to move soon. Otherwise it might seem he really was spying on the duo. He picked an empty spot by the wall across the hallway and started heading towards it when a thought hit him. If the doc was in the party, then would 'K' be there too? And the Duros? Was it just a coincidence?

Despite the suspicion creeping into his mind, Dohr couldn't help thinking about the young speeder bike pilot. He assumed the girl was ok as at least some of her companions were present at the party. Be it a happenstance or not, Dohr didn't think doctor Carstair's group was responsible for the death of his assistant less than a day ago. So after a couple of steps he stopped and turned back as if he'd just remembered something like he in a way had. The Kel Dorian limped past Vyn, patted him on the shoulder as a form of appreciation and said quietly: "You can thank me later." He then spread his arms in a kind of apology and flashed a genuine "smile" at Janine (as much as he could considering he was wearing a breathing mask and goggles).

"Please forgive me for interrupting your chat with Mr. Teckla, doctor Carstairs. But I was wondering if I could have a word with you about young 'K'?" The Kel Dor took a few steps to the side and carried on: "You see I like to follow up on the state of my patients whenever possible. However in your friend's situation, such a thing was not possible and frankly not even truly necessary as I was able to leave her in your capable hands and care. Nevertheless, I would really appreciate it if you could give me a quick update on her condition, for as you know, sometimes a simple concussion can hide the signs of a more serious injury and I would prefer to rule any such out."

Heigren noted the Kel Dor talking to Sheila and her reaction.  Whilst he couldn't hear the words, he caught the intent, even without Dohr's whispered comment to him.

He wasn't surprised when Sheila walked off on Dohr.  When the incoming crowd thinned a little he went over and spoke to the Kel Dor, whom was clearly uncomfortable with the social situation.

"Doctor Veen is it?  Thanks for the assist, it's appreciated.  That woman is very. . .persistant.  So, are you a medical doctor?  Do you work at one of the hosptials around here?"
