Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Location: Fedje Station
(Combat Rounds 1-3)

Devon picks himself up off the floor but before he can do more than brush himself on him, three of the Weequay are upon him.  He catches one with a pair of jabs but then takes punch to the ribs that has him spinning.  Slipping partly on a wet patch of floor, he is off balance when a Weequay charges in and grabs him in a headlock.  The other two begin to rain blows on him.

Kyvarr had meanwhile moved into position but had not engaged based on Devon's order.

OOC:  Of all the times to lose the initiative roll Devon!  You have 3 on you.  One is holding you in a grapple, the other two are using Devon as a punching bag!  The other three are standing back, unable to get involved.

Status
Devon: 28/52VP, 8/12 - Grappled
Kyvarr: Uninjured
Weequay 1 - Moderately wounded
Weequay 2 - Grappling, uninjured
Weequay 3-6 - Uninjured

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Feeling himself hauled to his feet and held upright, Devon knew exactly what was coming next...
but that didn't make the first punch hurt any less.  Didnt mean it didnt knock the wind out of him either.  Straining to breath, Devon couldnt speak, much less covertly use his commlink - he could see Kyvarr stood behind the Weequay, waiting... and there wasnt a damn thing he could do about it.
He managed to catch the Cathars eye for a moment, and hoped like hell she got the message.

Priority had to be getting out of this hold - he didnt have Kyvarrs combat training, but Devon DID have a selection of dirty tricks picked up from years hanging around in seedy cantinas.
Cantinas just like this one, actually.  He'd have to hope these Weequay hadnt studied at the same school of fighting that he had.

Devon jerked his elbow backwards into the stomach of the Weequay holding him, then again.  He didnt have room to set it up properly and it probably wouldnt hurt much, but the Weequay should shift his weight, bend at the waist to hold his belly out of Devons reach without loosing his grip.  And when he did, the guys head would have to come forward and...

Now.  Gritting his teeth, Devon jerked his own head backwards into the Weequays face with all the force he could muster.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Permission to engage? What the hell? Not wanting to give up the fact that he was receiving messages to his comlink’s earpiece, Dohr smiled to the barkeep and took a sip. He reached for the comms unit on his utility belt and gave Kyvarr one click. He could only hope she heard it and understood it as an acknowledgement. Finishing the drink, the Doc nodded to the man behind the counter. ”Thanks for the drink and the conversation. I may come back for another one later on, but it seems my companions have disappeared somewhere and I need to go save them before they get completely lost.”

As soon as Dohr had walked a few meters away from the bartender, he called Kyvarr back. ”Having a hard time gathering information, Five? Heading your way now.” A space station in the middle of nowhere, not a lot to do and even less of good gigs to be found. From experience Dohr knew that adding all three together into a kettle full of alcohol made a messy soup and a perfect recipe for trouble. He was only guessing of course, but the sounds coming from its direction proved his thoughts right already before he reached the bar.

OOC: Just assuming Devon sent only Kyvarr the message and not Dohr too.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Kyvarr frowned as Devon started to get thoroughly beaten.  She was confused as to what Devon had actually wanted her to do.  'Stay clear unless you get something that look like provocation'  That's what he'd said but what did it mean?

She thought she saw Devon give her a look but it didn't matter.  Wether he was warning her to stay away or get involved she didn't know and didn't care.  Six against one was unacceptable.  She would try to play the part of someone eager for a fight rather than a colleague of Devon's.

"Six on one?  Wow I heard Weequay were tough" she roared as she charged in, a diving punch aimed at the centre Weequay in the rear three.  Her aim was to get as many of them focused on her as possible.  Even if they only turned their heads for a second she might buy Devon the distration he needed.

OOC:  Attack the centre rear Weequay.  If she drops him she'll move on to the next.  She'll in no way acknowledge Devon, just pretend to be someone who likes a fight.  If/when Devon looks like he has things in hand she'll back off as if it's no longer fun.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Location: Fedje Bar
Rounds 4-5

Kyvarr, despite her roar takes the trio behind her by surprise, landing a savage punch to the centre thug.  Not slowing she follows up with a vicious uppercut that sends her opponent sprawling, followed by a quick side kick that doubles another over temporarily.  As she did so she heard Dohr's voice on the comm.  "Having a hard time gathering information, Five? Heading your way now.”

Devon is also granted a reprieve.  After taking another savage blow to the guts that had him winded, Kyvarr's distraction caused they Weequay gripping him enough of a distraction that Devon could slam his head back forcefully into the Weequay's jaw.

The shipjacker saw stars, it was like hitting solid duracrete.  The thug didn't even grunt but he did loosen his grip.  Devon used the moment to slip free from his grasp.

OOC:  Devon you are no longer grappled but facing three.  Kyvarr has two.  Dohr you're just preparing to leave the restaurant.

I've updated the map accordingly

Weequay 1 - Moderately wounded
Weequay 2 - Uninjured

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

ooooowthathurt  thought Devon, slightly dazedly.

OK - free to move.  Still three on one, but at least Devon could move now.  Time to even the odds a little.  Start with that guy on the left - he looked to be in worse shape than his friends.

Ducking an incoming punch from his chosen target, Devon lunged forward under the Weequays arm with a gut-punch that the old gang from his street-punk days would have been proud of.

Since he was already face to face with the Weequay, Devon bought his knee up with surgical precision and considerable force.
Lets just hope Weequay keep their hand luggage the same place I do.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Kyvarr wasted no time and viciously attacked the Weequay she'd injured in her last attack.  If she took him down she focused on one of the three attacking Devon.  This would risk the other Weequay getting behind her but she needed to lessen the odds on Devon before he was overwhelmed.

OOC:  So trying to beat down Weequay 4.  If successful Kyvarr will go after Weequay 2 or 3.  Once Devon seems under control she'll turn back to Weequay 6.

P.S. Thanks for labelling the map!  Makes it easier.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Location - Fedje Bar
Rounds - 6-11

Kyvarr plowed into the guards like a whirlwind.  A left-right combination dropped one Weequay as a side kick had another reeling.  Ignoring the Weequay who slipped in behind her, Kyvarr focused her attacks on the thugs surrounding Devon.

Devon missed most of Kyvarr's actions, his focus had been mostly defensive.  Three thugs who knew how to fight tended to have you blocking more than punching.  Though almost subconsciously Devon began to realise he really only had to focus on one and he pressed the attack.  He took as good as he got.  A punch to the Weequay's gut was repaid with a ringing strike to his own head.  A kick to the thug's shins cost Devon a vicious side punch that sent the shipjacker staggering.  Even if he hadn't heard the ribs break, the pain and difficulty breathing told him he was hurt badly.  He couldn't take much more of this abuse.  His only consolation was that his opponent looked as bad as he did.

Digging deep, Devon put all his energy into one last power punch, throwing everything he had into it.  He took a blow to the side of the head but ignored the pain and black creeping into his vision.  His fist drove into the Weequay's nose, smashing it flat and sending the thug sprawling into the wall, his eyes rolling backwards as he fell.

Devon smiled and turned to help Kyvarr, then froze in suprise.  Four weequay  lay on the ground some groaning, others fully unconscious.  As he watched Kyvarr pirhoutted, putting all the strength of the spin into a side kick that connected with the last thug with such force, Devon actually felt sorry for him.  No bookie he knew would wager the guy had just had more ribs shattered than Devon did.

Finishing her spin, Kyvarr looked around.  Devon could see that while a bit dishevelled and a few cuts, the Cathar looked untouched!

Almost on cue, Dohr came rushing through the door. . .and froze in shock to see the bodies lying around near Devon and Kyvarr.

OOC:  As I finished up this fight I totally had flashbacks to Iron Man 2.  When Hogan and Black Widow took on a bunch of guards.  Hogan fought and finally beat down his opponent and was feeling pretty happy. . .until he saw the pile of guards Black Widow had dealt with!

Dohr has arrived.  Devon is hurt quite badly but is conscious.  Kyvarr has a few cuts and bruises, nothing serious.  The Weequay vary.  A couple will need some serious medical care, others just a fistful of analgesia.

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Wincing and with one hand held against his injured side, Devon slowly straightened up and surveyed the devastation.  He'd like to think he'd contributed in some meaningful fashion, but honestly Kyvarr had chewed those guys up like a handful of those damn sweets Mika was always eating.  He tried not to think about how much worse he'd have had his ass beat if the Cathar hadnt been there.
"well, that coulda gone better." he muttered.

Limping over to the bar; Devon leaned heavily on the counter, winced and nodded to the bartender.
"Sorry 'bout the mess."  he looked round at the booth full of comatose Weequay.   Thankfully the furniture in this place was built to be sturdy - when they'd thrown him at that table, he'd expected to go through it, not bounce off.  So the good news was that at least he wasn't going to be paying for a broken table and chairs.  Somehow that didnt make his ribs ache any less.
"How much to not have you pissed off at me too?"

Kyvarr walked up to the bar and dumped a fistful of credits on the surface.  "Sorry about the mess, I enjoy a good fight.  Especially when a bunch of wannabes think six to one are fair odds."

She turned to Devon.  She held out her hand as if she'd never seen him before.  "Hope I didn't spoil your fun.  I couldn't resist."  After a brief handshake she walked out of the bar unless Devon called her to stay.  She didn't want to blow whatever scheme he was working on.

He called over his shoulder.  "Any of you understand Droidspeak?  I need to get some answers out of this guy."

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

Location: Fedje

The bartender, a Rodian, quickly swept up Kyvarr's credits in a swift motion, making them all disappear behind the bar.  Devon's assessment was that the Cathar had left more credits than the situation warranted.

The bartender looked at the shipjacker and shrugged.  "Almost worth the damage to watch that cat in action.  Those Weequay come through every few months and I've seen one arm wrestle a wookie and win!  Never thought I'd see all six taken down.  They're good fighters.  Speaking of which."  He pointed where the sprawled Weequay were.  "You might want to leave before they finish waking up.  You don't look up to round 2.  If security gets here, they might throw you all in the same cell."

In the corner the first of the Weequay was beginning to stir.

Location: Fest

Mika went to the bridge and then cursed.  She was getting far too used to the Nightshrike and its various military-grade systems.  Not only did the ship not have sensors active when powered down, it's security was a joke and it didn't record comm traffic, let alone have ability to trace it!  The only recording of the communication from Sheila was captured by Catch, who routinely recorded such transmissions.

The cargo ramp went up, Catch following Mika's instructions.  It didn't make the mechanic feel secure.  She wasn't half the shipjacker Devon was but she figured she could beat the security on this ship with a hair clip and a well aimed kick!

OOC: Sorry to waste your 20 Mika but this is a stock standard civilian ship, no security or military upgrades.  Maybe something to stick on your, Devon's and/or Cor's to-do list!

Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector

The Kel Dorian swung his cane around a couple times happily like a dandy and stopped at the doorway to assess the situation. He was certainly not looking for fight a to join, but would get his hands dirty in case his friends were in real trouble. The limping doctor did not look like it, but he could really move fast when needed and knew how to give an opponent a bruise or two with his cane. On the other hand, he might not be able to roll with a punch like he expected Kyvarr would.

But before the Doc finally reached the bar, the sounds of fighting suddenly died out. The smile on his face disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. He had no idea what was had happened, but he could only hope Kyvarr and Devon had not lost the fight. Stepping through the doorway, the Kel Dor froze on the spot. There were a total of six Weequay lying on the floor amongst turned over tables and chairs. Devon was heading towards the bar clearly injured, but Kyvarr looked like she’d had a nice little exercise. Must remember to stay on her good side., Dohr thought as he observed the scene a second longer.

For some reason yet unknown to him, the two Talons were not talking to each other and they were not heading his way or to the ship. They had to have some kind of an act going on he knew nothing about. As much as Dohr would’ve wanted to move to Devon’s assistance and call out to Kyvarr to help carry the human out of the bar, he decided not to.

A few seconds later his thoughts were verified as Kyvarr followed Devon to the bar, shook his hand and walked past Dohr to the hallway. Wanting badly to shake his head at the view, Dohr refrained himself and spoke on the comlink instead: ”Weequay? Really guys? You could have chosen better. Five, wait up in the corridor out of sight. He might need your help getting back to the ship’s medbay. Seven, you look like shit. If you can manage, I will make sure they do not follow you. If not, bump into me as you walk on by and we will improvise.”

<I>OOC:
If Devon walks or limps past Dohr, the doctor will stick around long enough to see what the troublemakers are up to. Should they charge after the two Talons, Dohr will start calling out for security and uses his cane to trip up the first Weequay. If it takes them a while to get sorted out, the Doc will simply turn around and head to his friends.

"Understood." Heigren replied to Mika's comm message.  He didn't really understand and he didn't like it.  He especially didn't like Sheila's silence since that last message.  Something was wrong, he felt it, but he couldn't do anything about it.  Hopefully Mika knew what was going on but just didn't feel comfortable using the comms.
