Re: Act 7.1: Corellian Sector
The information Sheila managed to dig out from the Corellian holonet was good. The government official in charge of public affairs would most certainly be in the know of anything the size of an Imperial star destroyer happening in the sector. But he might be difficult for Dohr to approach. The Doc knew he could easily talk with the official for hours, but he was no con artist. It would be seriously difficult for him to get anything out of the man. Unless Sheila would be able to dig out something he could use as a leverage… something the man would not wish to see get out in the open.
For some unknown reason Emperor Palpatine had decided to leave the ruling of the Corellian worlds to the locals. CorSec, or the Corellian Security Force was in charge of maintaining the law and order. But from what Dohr had learned during his previous visits to Corellia, the locals weren’t much better than the imperials would have been or were on other worlds. CorSe hunted the rebellious parts of the population with the same zeal Vader had tracked down the Jedi.
Fortunately the General Sheila had found was working for CorSec, but CSF instead. The Corellian Space Force was a part of the Defence Force, much like the DAF was… or had been… part of the Dorin Defence Group before the imperial incasion; a proper military organisation. Dohr himself had served in a ground unit, not the space forces, but he knew he could relate to a fellow officer nevertheless. It seemed like the General might be his best chance to get the data they needed. Then again, a soldier was trained to be suspicious. Dohr would have to give it his best… and more.
”Thank you for the intel Sheila. Both targets sound promising. But do you think it would be possible to dig in deep into both men and find something I might be able use to approach them? If not, that is just fine. I think it would still be worth the while to try and get close to one or both. The only thing I am worried about is time. There might not be enough of it…”
The Kel For turned to Devon and stood quiet for half a minute or so. ”Unless Sheila can find something sensitive about the targets, then I will simply approach them at a restaurant or bar, a place where they are most relaxed and confident in. It is where they would least expect a social engineering attempt, but at the same time most vulnerable for one.”
”Oh and the MedBay on the Nebula Drifter… Having had a good look at what Corellia can offer, and that is pretty much everything I could thinkg of, I have calculated the costs for a proper surgical station to be around 15000 credits. I can cover the costs, if need be.”
Lastly, Dohr nodded to Heigren. ”Yes, you have heard right. The Empire does indeed control the Corellian sector, but not directly. They have left it in the hands of the locals. To my knowledge neither party has revealed any reasons behind the decision. Perhaps Palpatine thinks he can get the best out of the Corellian shipyards and pilot academies that way. Who knows.”
The Kel Dorian turned to face the Sergeant. ”Actually, Kyvarr, I was planning to go such a place myself.” If she couldn’t see him smiling, she certainly could hear it in his voice. ”Then again, I have a fairly strong feeling that the General in question might not be hanging out in a place where jarheads like to unwind. Or would you have more details, Sheila?”
