Re: Round 1
It seemed that the guild did not wish to do business with Antoine or at least, the hin did not.  The situation which was already on the brink of turning nasty did exactly that as Antoine had continued to press for a deal to be made; the two lesser-rogues attempted to use Antoine as a pin cushion for their poisoned blades.

Neatly side-stepping the attacks, Antoine was fully aware that a simple trip or assault by one of the rogues could result in her falling off the platform and down to the tower floor.  This was not a situation that relied upon gracefulness and as such, Antoine's immediate concern was to get away from the edge of the platform.

Head down, she rushed towards the half-elf and attempted to either bypass him or if he didn't move, push him out of the way.

Init: 26

Ok, I will apply dodge vs the half-elf and attempt an overrun manouvre against him.  If the half-elf doesn't get out of the way, I have made a Str check just in case.  Whatever the outcome, Antoine's standard action will be to alter shape into Hybrid.

If she succeeds in the overrun, Antoine will move to L19.

08:33, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 16 using 1d20+1. Overrun Str check (if needed).
08:15, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 26 using 1d20+7. Initiative.

EDIT: No shapechange

Round 2
The thieves had clearly underestimated their visitor.  Despite doing their best to intimidate and confuse her by suddenly appearing behind her it was Antoine who seized the initiative and charged at the half-elf who feebly slashed at her with his dagger as he twisted out of her way.  Now with her back safely against the wall Antoine prepared for the worst.  The woman circled the open stairs and came at Antoine first with her poisoned dagger.  She slashed back and forth at Antoine hoping to gash a long line in Antoine's flesh, the longer the better for absorbing the poison, but could not catch up with Antoine's swift dodges and weaves.  The half-elf soon joined and his dagger was likewise poisoned but he thrust it as one would a rapier.  His jabs were lightning quick and the third one tore through her leather vest and nicked her skin.  A numbing cold began to spread from the wound almost immediately.  Borris' laughter had melted into the background for the time being, Antoine had more important things to concern herself with at the moment.

I don't have my book, is Antoine's DR 10/Silver in effect even in human form?  I've applied the 5hp damage for the time being, please let me know if I need to remove it.

Fort DC12 to avoid 1D4 STR damage this round.  If Antoine fails the save please roll your STR damage and note it in your next post.

Re: Round 2
With her back safely against the wall, Antoine could now concentrate on both defense and offense as opposed to worrying about being pushed off the edge of the platform.  Deftly she avoided the poisoned blades until the final stroke by the half-elf pierced her skin and the toxin began to flow through her body.

With a muffled 'urgh', Antoine felt the strength sap from under her, the net effect causing the rage to well inside the rogue.  Within seconds, where once stood a lithe and beautiful woman was now a hairy mass of fang and claw.  "Now you die!" she rasped at her attackers.

Sadly, no DR as a human so 5hp taken as well as a crappy Str loss :-(

As a hybrid, Antoine gains +12hp, +2 Str (offsetting the poison a little) and +2 AC, the dodge now being employed against the human woman.

20:37, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 4 using 1d4. Str loss.
20:36, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 10 using 1d20+6. Fort Save.
20:36, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 31 using 1d20+12. Control shape: Human -> Hybrid.

Round 3
Antoine's sudden transformation drew grunts of surprise from the thieves and she could smell their growing fear.  Even Borris' laughter died away at the fearsome sight.  The first lesson learned by a street thug is strike or be struck and strike they did.  Both rogues came at Antoine at once their blades flashing in the torchlight almost too quick for her to keep track of.

Antoine fended off the powerful strikes of the woman with ease but the nimble quick jabs of the half-elf proved more difficult.  Once again his dagger struck but this time her fur-covered flesh seemed to turn aside what had the possibility of being a devastating thrust and turn it into a glancing blow that left only a thin shallw cut.  Antoine felt something strike her squarely in her ribcage but did not know what had done so nor could she afford to determine the source of the impact with the pair of thieves mercilessly assaulting her.

The half-elf struck (and critted) again but the DR reduced the damage to just 1 hp however another Fort Save DC12 is required to avoid the 1D4 STR damage from the poison.  Go ahead and make both rolls.

Re: Round 3
Antoine fed on the new found fear of the thieves yet despite her animalistic nature, she felt more in control of 'the beast' than she had done in the past.

With tooth and claw she lashed out at the half-elf, raking and biting him several times and each hit drew blood.

#1, stop rolling so bloody well!
#2, as much as it pains me to admit, I saw that the half-elf critted for 11hp dmg and Antoine only has DR/5 (as an afflicted WW) so she took 6hp last round :-(

Round 4
The half elf quailed beneath the savage assault of the werewolf.  To his credit he still stabbed with his dagger but could not even find Antoine's flesh, much less penetrate it.  The woman's attacks too proved fruitless.  Again Antoine felt something strike her side but this time she felt a blade bite deeply into her.  As quickly as the dagger had buried itself in her it was pulled free by some invisible force and sent drifting back to Borris' waiting hand.

You keep shortchanging yourself.  :0)  Races of Faerun lists the DR for lycans (no distinction between natural and afflicted) as 10/Silver.  At some point I need to revist your character sheet and make sure things are accurate...

Ordinarily a poisoned blade is good for one hit, in this instance that is not the case.  Oooh the mystery!

Re: Round 4
Antoine was no fighter, not a warrior, but here she was going toe-to-toe with two dispicable rogues and also having to defend herself against ranged attacks from a hin with some kind of magical dagger!  Then again, Antoine was no ordinary rogue and if it were not for the actions of Canis a week or so ago, perhaps by now she would be dead.

The werewolf continued to rage at her assailants and the half-elf who started this whole mess paid the ultimate price.  Antoine slashed at his upper arms with her razor sharp claws and followed up with a fanged bite which tore a fatal wound in his neck through to the jugular.

After the lifeless and bloody corpse of the half-elf dropped to the floor, Antoine looked upon the woman with her greenish-yellow feral eyes.  "Flee or die!" she said to her attacker, a chilling warning to be sure.

I was going to post something about Borris' dagger being silver (as Antoine took full damage from it) but I am not 100% certain of the fact.  Am I right that it is silver?

Re: Round 4
The half-elf was nothing more than a pile of gore and blood at Antoine's feet as she turned to face the larger woman.  The swiftness, brutality, and totality of Antoine's attack of the half-elf was frightening indeed but the woman saw little choice, especially with Borris looking on.  She threw herself at Antoine with a ferocity that matched Antoine's own and while the blade of her dagger slashed against Antoine several times it failed to split her hairy flesh.

Borris' dagger whistled through the air again and again it buried itself between Antoine's ribs before jerking itself free and drifting back to Borris' hand.  A thundering sound, soft at first but growing louder each second, rose up from the winding staircase below.

Borris' dagger is not silver per se but it does overcome Antoine's DR.

The woman did not take Antoine's warning seriously enough and so left the werewolf with little choice but to rend her limb from limb.  Turning her attention to the woman, Antoine attacked with ferosity and successfully landed blows with both claw and tooth.

"Last chance fool!" Antoine hissed at her assailant.

Round 6
The woman's eyes betrayed her.  Despite her furious onslaught she knew she was going to die, be it by Antoine's claws or Borris' dagger and she had seen too many languish through Borris' torture to choose that fate.  Her ferocity was admirable but her results pitiful as she flailed away with her poisoned dagger to no effect.

Borris' dagger thunked into the wall next to Antoine thankfully missing her for once.  It quivered there momentarily before wiggling free and drifting back toward Borris.  The thunder down under continued to crescendo and its source was unmistakable now, a swarm of guild members were racing up the stairs to seal Antoine's fate.

I altered the map slightly after realizing I had made the gap in the floor too wide.  It is now represented correctly as a 10' gap.  Both Borris and the woman missed their attacks.

Re: Round 6
The fear in the womans' eyes was unmistakable and she was a fool for placing her life over the loyalty to her hin master.  Then again, if Antoine did not kill her, then she guessed that Borris would and so it was the preverbial rock and a hard place for the woman.

Antoine was about to go in for the kill leaving only the halfling to take care of but her wolf-like ears picked up the sounds of several guild members racing up the stairs.  Even the gift of a werewolf's defence against all but silver would not withstand repeated stabs from many swords and so quickly, Antoine weighed up her options.

Whilst trying to keep the woman at bay, Antoine reached into her pack and pulled out a vial of liquid.  Unstoppering the container would leave the werewolf susceptable to an attack from the woman but Antoine had no choice.  Quickly, she poured the contents down her throat and began to disappear from view.

Well, not much choice left really.  Antoine will most likely fail the jump over to Borris with an abysmal Jump skill and so plunge to her death.  Looks like she is caught between a rock and a hard place too!

Round 7
The woman slashed at Antoine savagely as she downed the magical brew and opened a wound across her chest.  For the first time the woman thief had drawn Antoine's blood and with that came reneweed confidence.  Antoine disappeared from sight but the rogue slashed at the air where the werewolf had stood moments ago and was rewarded with another faint spray of blood.

Borris' dagger bounced off Antoine's hardened wolf flesh again and the thundering grew louder.  The monkey's shriek joined the roar and Antoine calculated that within a minute the platform would be swarming with thieves.

Antoine provoked an AoO for drinking the potion while in a threatened square.  The attack hit and critted causing 2hp damage after the DR was applied.  In additon Antoine needs to make a Fort Save DC12 or take 1D4 STR damage from the poison.

Borris' attack missed but the woman's regular attack hit, critted (again!) and overcame concealment due to invisibility to cause 3hp in damage.  There is no need to save vs poison this time.

Re: Round 7
I was thinking the same thing!

Antoine did not have much time to think about her options.  Her invisibility would only last a few minutes and so she had to move fast.  The staircase back down the tower was an option as she could simply plough past the onrushing rogues but then what to do at the end?  The door leading back to the rogue 'common room' was most likely barred or had a secret button push to open and Antoine did not have the time to search for intricate little devices.

In vain, she glanced over at Borris' platform and thought that somewhere behind the hin must be an hidden exit of some descript.  First things first, she would need to get over there.

Backing away from the woman, Antoine turned and bent her run so that she could gain as much momentum as possible to leap the gap between the platforms.  If she couldn't land on her feet she would try her best to at least reach out and grab the platform edge to avoid falling to her death.

Ok, here's the plan...!

I don't know what the DC is for this but Antoine's move will go from where she is now to L18.  From there, she will take a diagonal run to I17 which is hopefully enough of a run-up not to double the DC for a jump (needs a 20' run-up) and try to land on G14.  If she fails her Jump, she will try to reach out with outstretched arms and try to grab the ledge!

20:29, Today: Antoine D'Marque rolled 8 using 1d20+1. Jump.

Bugger!  Looks like I could be one die-roll away from kaput!  It could be something to do with the DM tiring out the die roller with all those crits!

Round 8
Antoine determined the time to flee was now.  Invisible, once she moved she would be nearly impossible for the thieves to pinpoint, especially given her knack for moving stealthily.  With the thunder of hurried footfalls clamoring ever closer she didn't worry about such things as she raced toward the gap in the floor and lept into space.

The moment she was airborne and committed to the maneuver she knew she would not make it.  What had seemed a surmountable distance just heartbeats before now seeemd to grow each moment, moments that were drawn out dramatically in her mind.  The floorboards of the opposite side flashed past her as she reached with taloned fingers for them but it was of no use.

Antoine was falling, and falling fast.

Re: Round 8
Invisible to mortal eyes, none of the thieves rushing up the stairs saw Antoine hurtling through the air, descending toward them at an ever increasing pace.  Her forward momentum continued as she fell bringing the opposing platforms closer and closer until she could reach out and grab one.  Strong claws bit into the wood but could not stop her descent.  Their only effect was to spin her head over heels and flip her further toward her goal where she crashed loudly, broke through one woodplank floor and down to the next level where she came to a stop.

Her right arm was bent grotesquely at the elbow, either dislocated or broken she could not tell.  Her left wrist was also broken making bending it impossible but even without the use of her two arms she was alive, albeit barely so.

She remained cloaked in invisibility but to those climbing the stairs it was obvious something had crashed through one floor and down to the next.  Borris' voice rose above the din as he tried to direct the thieves back down but mass chaos was the order of the moment with some thieves continuing upward, others stopping to gawk at the destruction wrought by Antoine's fall and others dutifully racing back down the steps as their guild leader commanded.

The world swam in front of Antoine who barely clung to consciousness and the pain grew only more intense with each passing minute.  She managed her feet and saw two doors leading from this level of the tower, neither remarkable in any way.

Die roller says.....  ANTOINE LIVES!

Antoine fell 50' and sustained 19hp in damage and in addition I've taken away the use of Antoine's arms due to the fall.

Death cheated
Down and down she fell, flipping and spinning for what felt like an eternity although in truth, she slammed and crumpled on the tower floor mere seconds after her mistimed leap across the platform.

The pain was something she had never felt before.  Even as she learned to shift her shape from human to wolf, where her bones altered form to suit was the pain nowhere near as bad as it was now.  The noise above from the thieves focussed Antoine's mind as she tried to endure the pain.  She was barely clinging to life as it was and if the cuthroats found her, they would end her existance here and now.

Fighting through the agony, Antoine somehow managed to pull herself to her feet to survey her surroundings.  She contemplated returning to her human form but guessed that the additional strength of the wolf was the only thing keeping her alive.  Looking around, she spied the doors and tried to manipulate the handle of the nearest one with her foot.

Thankfully something in this thief's den was unlocked and with a coordinated effort of foot and fang the door swung open.  The door led out into a small hallway roughly ten feet long with identical doors in the middle of each wall.  As she frantically searched for a way out the vile poison coursed through her veins spreading its debilitating touch.

Fleeing the tower
The pain continued to course through her body and the poison that flowed through Antoines' veins almost paled into insignificance compared to her life-threatening injuries.

The corridor ahead was a maze of doors and Antoine had no idea which path would lead to her escape.  She tried each of them in turn from left to right, hoping to find an egress out of the tower.

Antoine will try using the same foot/fang method to open a door, starting with the one in the north wall and will stop opening doors when the first one is open.

Re: Fleeing the tower
Giving up on using her boted feet to manipulate the door handles, Antoine employed the considerable strength of her canine jaw and easily openned the next door.  Beyond was a room stacked with rolled carpets and tapestries.  On the far wall was a iron-barred window whose shutters were loosely closed and rattling from the wind.  On the lefthand wall at the far end of the room was another door, the only other one in the storeroom.  The shouts and heavy footfalls of running thieves was muffled by the intervening walls but loud enough to remind Antoine that her time was quite limited.

Re: Fleeing the tower
The pain seemed to worsen with every passing moment and it took much effort from Antoine to fight off unconsciousness which wanted to consume her.  She knew that if she gave into the pain, she would die.

Forcing herself onwards, she bypassed the window which she could not hope to escape from without the use of her arms, and tried the opposite door out of the storeroom.  Before heading that way, she quickly shut the doors behind her hoping that by doing so, it much give her an extra crucial few seconds to escape if discovered.

Antoine gave up on the locked door.  Under normal circumstances, she might have tried to pick the lock or even try to charge the door down.  However without the use of her hands and being so close to death, neither option was open to her.

Instead, the rogue quickly backtracked to the hallway and tried the door in front of her.
