Re: Destiny- Dake's Bunk
(From - Destiny: Cargo Hold)
Dake threw the wet towel on his desk and reached into his chest of clothes. When he was a driver on Santos, he had plenty of fancy clothes that he had worn while working. Now, however, most of his clothes were rather ordinary. Flying Destiny did not give him many opportunities for dressing up. He spent most of the time onboard, not dirtside hob-nobbing.
Throwing clothes around, Dake found the cleanest, and nicest, clothes he had. A button down white shirt and a pair of dark brown cargo pants. His boots would have to suffice for shoes. He had never been one for fancy shoes.
Stripping off his shirt, he grabbed the towel and began to wipe himself down. A proper shower would have been nice, but the audience in the cargo hold put him off the idea. Geoff was down there. Dake was sure any reason to not be in the hold at that moment was a good one. So he settled for wiping the grime and sweat of with the towel. He used a clean towel that he kept in the bunk to dry off. This was followed by dressing in the clothes that he kept getting the nagging feeling would not stand up to anything that Wei-Li could wear.
Once he was dressed, Dake sat down on his bed, running a hand through his hair. For some reason, he was getting nervous. He had dated attractive women before. Plenty in fact. It was the pitfalls of being a racer. But this was different for some reason. He was fighting an internal struggle as to whether he was taking Wei-Li out because he was attracted to her or to aggravate Geoff further. The pilot knew he had to figure it out soon. Charlie had warned him. And Dake's response had been genuine. He did not want to hurt anyone.
