Re: Destiny- Kendra's Bunk

She sits down, instictively pats and smooths the small wrinkles in the blanket, her anxiety seems to be at bay. She thinks, perhaps I can finally get some rest at least for a little while.

She walks over to her small bag of belongings and unpacks her one other outfit, hangs it up on a nearby rack. Takes out a moving picture of the one thing she has formed a true relationship with - her cat Sima who has sinced passed on. She runs her thin fingers through her hair and reluctantly heads out to get something to eat...

going to her bag, she reaches into the small pocket on the front and grabs the bag of loose leaf tea, pulls out the amount she needs and heads back to the dining hall.

Kendra runs over to her one bag of belongings and pulls out her most prized posession, her Laser Pistol. She stuffs it in the holster and straps the belt around her waist, and runs back towards the dining hall....

Kendra, restless and agitated, paces in her bunk, wanting to obey the captain, but worried about the state of her fellow passengers but especially of the children. "Ahh screw it, she mutters to herself" I just won't touch them.  Kendra walks quietly towards the bridge, crosses the bridge and walks down the stairs to the Cargo Bay.

Having precured the meds from Londinium all onboard Destiny have been vaccinated.  The recovering crew took refuge on the Gypsy planet Paquin where they buried the two children, Sephone and Tate, who were lost on their last mission.  Now that everyone is back on their feet Destiny is looking for work once more, while trying to avoid a very angry Cortez, Alliance patrols, and Bosik's men.

Kendra runs in, shutting the door behind her. She changes into form fitting canvas pants (the only pair she has) a new loose white shirt, with the sleeves rolled up half way(from the general store) and ties her hair up in a long pony tail. She straps on her gun belt, taking extra care to ensure her laser pistol is in it's rightful place on her hip and safety off.

Re: Destiny- Kendra's Bunk

Kendra lays in her bunk, covered in blankets, eyes still shut.As she wakes up  she hears the murmer and humm of the engines, an announcement comes through the intercomm, female voice-fuzzy, She opens her eyes-looks around her bare bunk. Stretches her arms over her head, and pulls her legs from out beneth the covers and stands, stretching out her whole body. She picks up her canvas pants and slides them over her long legs, throws on a black tank top and covers this with the shell of a loose white linin blouse, sleeves rolled up. She runs her hands through her long auburn hair, parted on the right side, gives it a toussel and calls it good. Feeling a little insecure lately, she straps her gun belt onto her hips. She reaches for her laser pistol, ensures the safety is on, and shoves it in the holster. "Can't ever be too prepared". With the growl of her stomach she heads towards the dining hall for breakfast.

Kendra sighed and stretched.  There was only so much sitting alone in her room should could do before she started dwelling on the past.

Maybe some food was in order.

She got up and headed to the Dining Hall

After getting their ship back the crew of Destiny began to pick up the pieces that Kyron had shattered.  Against most of the crews wishes Kyron was kept alive - although no official plans had yet been made for what to do with him when it became apparent that Wei-Li was falling into critical condition. Destiny needed medical help and fast.  They made way for the nearest planet at the time - Orisis.

Re: Destiny- Kendra's Bunk

After the fire fight at the Grand Yacht Party Kale worked out an arrangement with the Caddigan's.  Conveniently, the crews good friend Kyron Bates footed the bill with his bank card that he accidently dropped during his hijack attempt and which Wei-Li luckily found.  So finally the crew returned home ... back to Destiny.  Although slightly worse for wear.

They had been out in the black for a few days when Kale recieved a wave from his good friend and old professor, Walton Squires.  It was a pleasant surprise to recieve an invitation to his home on Regina and also to hear that he had a job for them ...

After successfully delivering the stamp to the Professor and despite the loss of their first mate, the crew of Destiny headed back into the black.  Back to work.  A few jobs later has left them with a crate from Xiaygin to be delivered to Torrance Station.  They've just docked at the space station located on the rim.

Its now been almost a month since the museum job and Rhaef leaving - the wounds are healing but they haven't been forgotten yet.

Re: Destiny- Kendra's Bunk

After their daring escape from Torrance Station the crew of Destiny was left broken and beaten ... and one crew member short.  The mourning had just begun for the crew but they had to press on.  They dropped the young boy which Kale, Geoff, and Wei-Li had saved off with his father and then turned to Paquin for Ren's funeral.  It was a short trip that left all of them with heavy hearts but Ren's death had effected no one as hard as Acacia.  So two weeks later found the crew of Destiny on Osiris saying goodbye to their doctor.

And although he was millions of miles away, as Destiny and her crew suffered ... so did Rhaef ...

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

(From Cargo Bay)

Connor walked slowly into his bunk, and shut the door, stripping off his shirt and gently taking off the bandaging wrapped around his ribs. He finished and set the soiled bandages in a bag, He'd wash and reuse them later on. He looked down to his ribs...still purple and bruised decently. He wrapped his ribs back up with a fresh set of bandages and walked over to the mirror, pulling out his scissors, trimming his beard, it was the routine and simple things that kept him going. He washed his face and looked at his reflection. He was more muscular than when he left...Connor smirked, at a cost. He pulled on a fresh shirt and cleaner pants and nodded, flicking off the light and heading towards the Dining Hall.

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

(From Dining Hall)

Connor sighed and sat down on his bed. He was tired. He was sure nothing had happened that was too bad. Still, why had he been so frustrated? Connor sighed, because of everything that had happened, because he saw Ren, and the Reavers, and a flash of light...every time he closed his eyes. Connor felt the frustration of being able to do nothing every time he relived it. Connor couldn't imagine what the others must be going through, those who'd known Ren longest...

Frustration.

Connor looked up as he heard Ren's voice, it startled him until he realized it was coming in over the intercomm. Connor sighed and got up, washing his face...it was time to go see the captain, and he assumed he knew exactly where he could find him.

With the bay doors shut and Dake's capable hands at the yoke Destiny left Osiris behind - if only they could leave the painful memories there with it ...

The black was a welcome change from the core world which always made the crew uneasy.  But they all knew that peril lay ahead.  Rhaef was in danger and it there job to go save him.  However this was the most divided the crew had been since the first day Destiny took to the sky.  There was a lot of patching up to do before they reached Beaumonde and had to once again work as a team.

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

The crew of Destiny has finally managed to get itself back on its feet.  After a trying past few months things are starting to go back to normal.  The absence of Ren and Acacia is still felt but the ships newest members have begun to find a home on board the old freighter.  Most relationships have been mended and although there are still some unanswered questions between members of the crew life has been peaceful.

However, after a few months of excitement and trials the crew has discovered that the cash flow has come to a sputtering halt.  The crew needs a job and soon.  First rule of the black is to keep flying.  Fortunately, one of Kale's contacts managed to put him in touch with the infamous Sin Twins.  The girls are probably the most ... unpredictable of contacts, one can never be quite certain what they're getting into when dealing with them.  But one thing is for certain, the pay-out is always good.  The crew has set up a meeting with the twins in a casino on Santo to get more details about the possible job.

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

Connor breathed in a deep sigh, and tucked another shirt into his duffel bag. The room had a fresher scent to it, probably because Connor had cleaned it out for its next occupant...he didn't intend on being here much longer.

Connor felt the telltale weight on his right leg, and unconsciously put a hand down to the gun sitting in its leg holster. He'd started wearing one pretty much all the time now, after the last "mission". Connor didn't see himself ever not wearing a weapon again.

And that was exactly why he was leaving Destiny.

Destiny's crew was a different bunch, all of them strangely unique and likable enough. Problem was, they lived in situations and environments that were entirely unfamiliar to Connor. Sure, he'd done his fair share of jobs and heists, but in his short short time with Destiny, he'd nearly been killed pulling a heist, lived through (somehow) a Reaver attack, AND had to deal with a gang of cutthroat thieves and bandits led by one of the most despicable men he'd ever seen or heard of.

Connor finished packing his clothing into a duffel bag, and set about checking his electronics case.

It wasn't that he didn't like it on Destiny, it was that Connor felt he couldn't hack it. He didn't want to get anybody killed because he couldn't handle himself in a situation.

He'd done alot of "growing up" on Destiny, but he still wasn't where this crew required him to be. So, for now, Connor would be leaving...

Huh, only three bags? Not too shabby, it meant he could travel light and move quicker.

Connor laughed at himself and stretched a bit.

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

Kale moved down the hallway outside Connor's bunk.  They'd hit planetside about an hour ago and that meant it was almost time for the brilliant technician to disembark.  He'd come to Kale about a week ago, telling him that it was time for him to part ways with Destiny.  Kale had understood.  Not all people were suited for the life he lived - in fact, scarce few were when you came down to it.

Seeing Connor's door ajar Kale came and stood in the doorway, knocking lightly on the frame, "You all packed up?" Kale asked, although it was a silly question.  The room was devoid of all personal belongings and three bags sat on the floor near Connor's feet.

Connor whirled about, caught off guard by Kale's sudden appearance. Connor looked at Kale, then looked down at his side, where his hand had gone for the gun. He sheepishly let his hand fall to his side, and he looked around the room.

"Yeah...yeah, I think that's everything."

Connor nodded as he surveyed the tiny bunk a last time, before turning back to Kale.

"Yup, I'm all packed up."

Re: Destiny- Connor's Bunk

Connor's grab for his pistol didn't escape Kale but he felt it best not to comment on it.  He knew that that reaction was precisely the reason Connor was packing his bags now.  He smiled at the other man, "Well, I believe this is your stop."

Kale stepped a little ways into the room, "Walton was right about you, ya know.  You're a good man Connor and I was glad to have sailed with you." he held out his hand to shake Connor's.  He had his contact information should they ever need to cross ways again, for now, he wished him the best.

Stepping back he picked up one of Connor's bags and swung it over his shoulder, "I think there's a few other folk out there lookin' to say their goodbyes." he said.

Connor took Kale's hand in his own and gave it a firm shake.

"You're a good man, Kale Galway, and one hell of a captain."

"One of these days, when I'm actually ready, I'll come find you. Until then, well, if you ever need me, you know you can wave me."

Connor shouldered his other two bags, then took a last look at his former bunk, before following Kale out the door.
