OOC 2

Cause our old one was over the 1000 post limit and the site kept bugging me to start a new thread every time I tried to post in the old one.

Duly noted - and it seems like this one could use a post - so here it is.

Hey all - I will be bouncing in and out over the rest couple of weeks with a lot of real life stuff (primarily work, and a vacation with my girlfriend) coming up in June.

Re: OOC 2

Well, guess I'll have to chime in on the "semi-absent" messages as well.

Some of you know what's going on, and some don't.  I don't really have secrets, and everyone here is a friend.  Things with my mother have gotten exponentially worse here, and it's reached the point where it's at a "if this treatment doesn't work there's not much left to try" phase.  It's incredibly trying, and there's a lot of family stuff up in the midst that's combining with it.

It was manageable, but now that she's moved to remaining in the hospital instead of coming home, I've been staying there more than I've been home.  I don't have any timeframes as to how long I'll be in or out, anything like that.  I'm just explaining why I've been absent, and why I may continue to be absent/sporadic.

I occasionally pop onto MSN (when I get on the computer for those brief chunks of time before I go to bed), so those of you who have access there can reach me there at the following address:  ten000km@hotmail.com

Checking in randomly, figure it might be good from time to time, heh, see this game go red on the sticky list and what not. Life's pretty hectic on my part, I'm simply trying to stay afloat with the games I'm in...had to cut back on a decent amount of 'em.

Other than that, working a lot, writing scripts, and uhhh....well, watching Firefly with my dad, who hasn't seen all of it just yet.

Hope y'all are well...

Re: OOC 2

Hey Everybody!!!!  So after a really crazy time with moving into a new place, and starting school back up, and the family I work for moving to Australia so having to find a new job, and my aunt having a new baby and the goddamn internet company telling us it was going to take a month for them to get in and set up our cable (grr) I am finally back!!

I apologize for disappearing on everyone.  And of course I'm not letting this game die.  It's Destiny people, its where the rat-pack started, <grins>.  Anywho, I'm off today so I'll be spending a considerable amount of time trying to get myself back up to pace with rpol, seeing which games I can still hang with that didn't take off without me, and of course which ones I have time for since life is a lot busier now for me then it was.  I'll probably get on MSN so if anyone's around you can reach me there.

Man its nice to have internet again.

Okay guys, so I am working on reorienting myself with what the hell is going on in this game (I've unfortunately forgotten some stuff so I'm going into re-planning right now).  I'm gonna try to get us started up again by tonight though.

This is going to involve a time jump so that we can all start fresh and on the same page so be aware of that.  Talk to ya all later and I'll post here when posting can recommence.  Let's try to hit the 10,000 mark before Destiny's two year anniversary, whatta ya say? <grins>

Re: OOC 2

Okay, so I put up the time passing post - I didn't pass too much time, just enough to get them into the black and on their way to Beaumonde.  There is some posting that needs to happen between Rhaef and I before we can have Destiny land.

In the meantime, after some discussion with M we realized that honestly this is the most divided we've ever had the crew so we thought it'd be interesting to just give people time to establish what is going on in their personal lives.

ie. Geoff getting sober again and regaining Wei and Lei's trust, the developing love triangle between Geoff, Wei and Dake, Dake and Kale dealing with their past, Charlie dealing with seeing Rhaef again, and so on ...

Alright guys, now things will hopefully begin to get interesting - after some posting between J and I we'll be ready to bring Destiny in and get this episode really rolling.  (and for the record, just in case its unclear that is Curio that's just entered your cell)

Which means everyone still on board Destiny should be getting some posting in before we land on Beaumonde :)  Just trying to get everyone back into the swing of things - its been a long break.

Re: OOC 2

The mechanical hum of many machines at work filled the room.  It was a comforting sound to the woman seated behind the computer, but no amount of comfort could stop the rising fear in her chest as she heard the clicking sound of the footsteps heading down the corridor.  Each one echoed loudly throughout the room.  After an agonizing wait the sound stopped and a smooth voice spoke from behind her.

"What seems to be the problem?"

The woman swallowed hard and got straight to the point, pulling up the screen so that the man could see the terrifying figures, "It's ... it's the terraforming process, its begun -"

"Who else knows about this?" he asked sharply, cutting her off.

She looked back at him, startled, "N-no one, sir.  It's classified information."

"Good, this cannot get out.  First the Miranda broadcast, now this ..." the man pulled away, his eyes gazing thoughtfully around the room.

"What does it mean?"

"It could mean the end of everything."

The woman turned back to the screen, "So what do we do?  We have to tell someone."

She didn't even hear the sound of the mans weapon being drawn.  He slowly pressed the barrel to the back of her head.  His expression one of pity as he stared down at her, "No.  We don't."

There was hardly a sound as the gun fired, just the soft gasp from the woman as she released her last breath.  Her head slumped down onto the keys.  The man sighed, placing gloves on his hands before gently moving the woman aside and wiping the memory of the computer.

"Sorry, but this cannot get out." he said to the womans dead form.

Serenity: Oblivion is a Firefly based game set in the 'Verse.  I will be using the Serenity Role Playing Game as the system, so it is ideal for you to own the book.  Some exceptions may be made.

I am an experienced GM on rpol and am very active on the site.  I am looking for dedicated, long-term players (my other games have been running for almost 2 years now so I like folk who are in for the long haul).  If you know you're the type of person that joins a game just to disappear a few weeks later - you need not apply.  This will be a highly interactive, "role"playing game.  Even though there are dice involved I cannot stress enough that I am looking for people who are good writers and are capable of creating in depth characters and playing through in depth interactions.

That being said, I promise a lot of fun and thrilling adventures and can't wait to get started!!  Hope to see some of you out in the black!

Ya I'm hoping.  M, got me motivated again so we'll see how it goes.  I'm looking for replacement players for some of the characters cause there are still a lot of NPC's and I think we could all do with some new blood.

What do you guys think?  Should I just try to recruit?  Or should I post in Players Wanted that we're looking for replacement players - perhaps take someone on for a trial period or something - obviously if I go this route I'll still be very picky.  Destiny only deserves the best. :)

Okay guys, I am very excited to let you all know that we have a knew Geoff who I believe will be an excellent addition to our crew.  We're doing a bit of a trial period right now, just to make sure that the player and character are right for each other - but I feel pretty confident that this new player will be a keeper.

I am still in contact with someone who might take up Lei so that leaves only Dake that needs a replacement player.  Keep your eyes open for people you think would be a good in this game and let me know!

<grins>

Once we figured out the fact that on Paquin, flirting was word play and you still had to pass the family background and personality tests before it turned into anything else.

And then there was the station where Wei-Li finally understood, she wasn't on Paquin any more (and the chances of going back were dwindling each day)

But then, just when she figured that out Geoff had to go and...

... It's complicated.

<grins> Ya the old Dake had pretty much specifically created Dake as a source of conflict.  Idea was that when he first got on board almost everyone was gonna hate him.  But really Lei loves him, and Wei-Li doesn't think he's bad - and under everything Kale really does care about Dake a lot (which will come out eventually in some episode)

In the meantime though - he just gets to be a lot of fun, haha.

(personally I love playing characters that everyone dislikes, hehe)

Intriguing. I'll look forward to seeing how it goes. But if I'm honest I think getting hated by EVERONE (not in this game, but in general) gets old real fast. The player gets isolated, and the thing is, nobody gives up in the arguments, and it sucks and blows.

But if I have Lei as a friend and maybe...

My computer access is about to get a bit interesting.  The paternal parental unit (whose computer I've been using) is getting out of the hospital and getting a place up North.  He'll want his computer.  Until I know whether or not his DSL router and such are going with him or staying here, I won't know what to do with my own computer (which is currently downstairs).

Thus, on or around Thursday (Jan 31), my access could become limited to three or four times a week rather than multiple times a day.  If there's something that Geoff needs to do, or somewhere he needs to be, feel free to NPC him along.  Like, don't let my not being able to check RPoL for two days hold up the action.

Re: OOC 2

Okay everyone, so we are nearing the final showdown in this episode and we have a lot of pieces and different groups wandering around the underground so I'm going to go into "scene" mode where I turn certain characters on and off.  For those of you who have been around, you know the drill, we've done this in previous episodes.  For all the new players this is what happens:

I will post in OOC "CHARLIE, GEOFF, KALE, AND WEI-LI OFF".  This means that those four characters are not allowed to post in the Beaumonde: Underground thread.  Beneath that I will post: "RHAEF AND CURIO ON"  This allows only Rhaef and Curio to post in the thread.

When their scene is done I will post "RHAEF AND CURIO OFF" and post which characters ON next.

* This only applies to characters in the Beaumonde: The Underground thread.  If you are on Destiny you can disregard this post as it does not effect you unless you enter the underground thread *

Okay guys, we are very close to the end of this episode.  However, we need the cargo bay thread to catch up with the Underground right now so if you are a part of the Cargo Bay thread please try to get your posts in, ideally we'll be having you guys come to the rescue soon.

Those of you in the Underground thread don't need to stop posting but just be aware that the last fight isn't going to happen until ya'll get some back up. :)

Correct me on the timeline here if I'm wrong.  Rhaef was already gone when Ren died and Acacia left, correct?  That's news to him (when it comes up)?

EDIT:  Also, funny thought.  Even if Charlie was speaking normally, they might think she was still drugged being as she's rather hard to understand.

EDIT2:  Oh, and for the record?  Canada now.  (Awesome.)

Ooh, you're right, Rhaef doesn't know about Ren and Acacia being gone.

And glad to hear you're loving Canada, if Patrick and I manage to make a trip out to Washington one of these days like we've been wanting to, maybe we'll stop by up there sometime, that'd be cool.

And the ark comment gave me a chuckle :)

Also, people not in the Underground thread - I need some posting in the cargo bay, can't make a daring rescue if the part of the crew that needs to come to the rescue is AWOL.  Thanks guys!

And, as a heads-up, I'll be getting married and relocating at the end of the month (August), thus my online time will be a bit sketchy for the last week of August and the first week of September, with no online time from August 28th through September 4th.

Wherever we are in game-play, I now suggest NPCing Geoff during that time so that I don't hold up the game.

Wow... you don't do things by halves do you?

1) Hope you feel better soon.  Having had my back go out (and it's threatening to do so now) I can recommend (when you're feeling better) Yoga Zone's yoga for a healthy back.

(It does nothing for the back when it's in the midst of spazms, but it does help build it up to prevent repeat occurances... I just keep forgetting to keep doing it once my back is stable)

2) Congrats and the way around.  (Hopefully the relocating bit is a happy thing)

Da spouse and I didn't get to live together until about 6 months after we were married.  It had a serious degree of suckage, but it made us appreciate being together.

(I can't believe that was 16 years ago!!)

Congrats again and feel better!

I was in Boston (this is almost 4 years ago) and they were having some problem with the sewers.  I don't know if they were doing gas work or what, but there were warning signs all over that told us to caution "minor explosions."  Then, the third day that I was there, we were getting food at a McDonalds and a manhole cover literally burst up about two feet in the air and into the street.

Long story short, Boston = Explosions.  In my book.

Everyone is ON.

I was gonna take some more time with this but honestly, I just want us to finish this episode sometime this year so in the interest of moving things along the crew ran down the hall when they heard gun shots and now their here.  We can do this last fight scene and make our quick getaway, do some wrap up dialogue and we're ready for episode 7 :)

Of course you all know the drill with combat but just a reminder.  Post once what you do and once most characters have posted I'll do a GM post to give the outcomes of all yer actions.

Hey guys.  Sorry for being away a bit longer then expected.  My family stayed into town after Christmas and then there as New Years fun to be had.  Anyway, I'm back now.  Happy New Year's everyone.

Also, Happy Birthday to Destiny.  We are now on our third year for this game which officially began January 1, 2006 with Kale's post in the dining hall.  I think that's pretty exciting.  I was thinking that perhaps as a 'yay for Destiny' thing we could maybe schedule an evening sometime in the next week where we all get online and open up chat and do a mad posting and chatting night like the old days.  What do you guys think?  And if that sounds good what evening would people be free to do that?

Re: OOC 2

Well I know Connor was thinking about it, but a shotgun doesn't leave much in the way of surprise Curio face when it goes off.

My vote is Kale or Larry.

I think it would be highly implausible that Lei would go from being weaponless and inside the ship to executing a dude (River moment aside).

Kale would do it to save Rhaef the trouble and let him escape with his hands free of Curio's blood (not to mention the crap with Curio hunting him down, blah blah blah). Or Larry would do it because he sees there's no winning in this situation and that Curio has gone off the deep end, and the only way to restore the order in this little guild of thieves and murderers is to find a new direction with a new leader (hrm, wonder who that could be...)

Those are just my very long winded two cents though.

My point with Lei was more a "let's throw a complete left-fielder" in for discussion purposes.

Honestly, my initial vote would be for Charlie - but I know that there has been discussions that would suggest that this is not a direction for the character go.

Rhaef could do it - but personally I actually like him simply walking out of his old life.

I do not think Larry - Larry would be inclined to shoot Rhaef first then Curio.

Which leads me to Kale - and for C's convincing reasoning - I say go with Kale.

The one thing I wonder about is the fact that Kale didn't kill Kyron even after everything he did to the crew.  (including kicking me!)

Even as I think about it, I realize that Kyron was no longer a threat.  In this case he knows that a) Curio will keep coming after them b) he can't be trusted and will strike at them any and every chance he gets.

If it's down to Geoff and Kale, I'd say Kale with Geoff ready to back him up for one reason and one reason only... I don't think Geoff would risk hitting Kale.

Okay so when people get a chance please do post.  I'm trying to wrap things up.  Once the ship takes off I'm going to take a little time to finish up some conversations (I know that there at least needs to be a Kale/Rhaef one before the episodes over) and then we will be moving on!

I have most things set-up and ready to go for the next episode which will be much more light-hearted then what we've been doing so far for a nice change of pace.  I have a few of these planned for the next few episodes before we start diving back into the main plot and the more nitty gritty stuff.

I put up the synopsis for Episode 6 in the Episode Index thread for people to read, let me know if I'm missing anything important or botched something up.  This episode has taken so long that I was having trouble remembering everything!  Anywho, hope everyone is doing well and yay!  We'll soon be starting Destiny's 7th episode.

No worries, K.  Just get one up when you can.  I'm thinking I'm going to wrap up this episode tonight so everyone that is going to post try to do it at some point today or this evening.

I was going through the index today - this episode took us 2 years!  We finished 5 episodes in 1 year and then 1 episode in 2 years, yikes.  I think this next one should go smoother though and be more fun.

Also, we have lost our Dake and Lei again <sigh>  If you know of anyone who would be interested in taking over one of these characters let me know.  I definitely need a really solid player for Lei (hopefully someone that will stick around for the remainder of the game).  I'm a little more lenient with Dake, if we really can't find anyone I'll consider letting a new character come into play.  But I'd like to try for a replacement first, I like his character and I like how he's tied to Kale so my preference is to keep him.  Anywho, just PM me if you know of someone.  Thanks!

Alrighty, I have our 7th episode up and ready to start.  The crew is currently docked on Santo and planning to meet with Callie and Allie - the Sin Twins - soon to get a job.  Like I said in the opener, its probably been about 3 weeks since the events of the last episode, enough time for things to have calmed down a bit.  Of course there are still loose ends, like Rhaef and Charlie are probably still figuring out where they stand and the love triangle with Wei, Dake, and Geoff is still all sorts of complicated.  If you feel the need you can PM each other about anything that may have happened during the time jump.

So feel free to start posting!

FYI: I did not include this in the opener but during the 3 week time jump Connor informed the crew that he would be leaving the ship at their next port.  A close friend of his was in need of his talents for an extended period of time.  Few know that part of the reason was also the fact that Destiny's jobs tended to be a sight more "colorful" then Connor was used to or ready for.

Hey guys.  Can we solidify dialogue colors real quick?  It's a funky pet peeve of mine but I like dialogue in color and I like each character to have a different color and to stick to it.  Right now a lot of people either keep changing their dialogue color or they are using one that is already in use.  So here are the people that have been consistent and what their color is.  If you are not on this list, please post here and claim your color.

Kale
Charlie
Wei-Li
Lei
Geoff

So Rhaef, Kyoko, and Dake need to pick colors that are different from everyone else and stick to the color that they pick.  Thank you.  Sorry to go all anal on ya.

Hey guys.  I'm back.  While on vacation in Colorado my body decided that would be the perfect time to get apendicitis, so ... I had to into surgery and have my apendix removed.  Seriously not fun.  I've been in recovery the past few days trying to get well enough to make the 13 hour drive back to California.  I'm here now though and starting to feel a lot better.  Sorry about the long absence though.  I'm going to try and make updates now.  Hope everyone else is well!

Re: OOC 2

Alright, things are going to be wrapping up really soon at the casino so I'll probably do a time passing post on the ship, but I'm really disappointed that no one was posting.  We kinda gave up some really great scene opportunities.  I was looking forward to seeing Dake and Lei at the arcade where she would have been undoubtedly superb at every game and I was considering having some little guy have a crush on her.  And the girls talking to innocent Wei-Li about her impending date with flyboy.

I would really like to encourage you guys to start getting posts up. Part of what makes Destiny so interesting is the character development we used to have going on.  I think that last episode or so hasn't been as much fun because the only thing that was really happening was the main story arc I had planned.  I'd like to see some of the subplots developing more.

Once the group at the Casino gets back though we'll launch into the main storyline, so please be prepared to start posting then.  Thanks :)

Also, I really need some posts people.  Starting on Monday I'm going to start NPCing characters if you don't get something up - even if I have to NPC everyone to get something moving.  So please, take a few minutes and try to get a post up.  I don't want this game to die and I'm really hoping for this to be a fun episode but it can only be that way if people are participating.  If there is something that you need from me to help you along, or if you don't like what's happening in the story and need something else to peek your interest more and get you to post please let me know and I'll see what I can do.  I want this to be fun and not a chore so ya, I'm always open to discussion!

It's a mystery.  I always like those three-D freeze scenes where you can walk around the frozen person.

Maybe if we start playing with them while their frozen... you know.. have a fruity drink with a parasol suddenly appear in Dake's hand... pick up all of Charlie's wrenches and suspend them in the air then quickly step back to where we were so they all suddenly clatter to the ground...

Re: OOC 2

For anyone interested I'm starting up a Star Trek game:

Captain's Log Stardate 61235.4

My crew and I have held our position on the outskirts of the anomaly for the past two weeks at Starfleet's request but still have come no closer to deciphering the data stream emitting from it.  Whatever it is, it has been transmitting non-stop since the moment we arrived.  The computer has been recording everything but even with so much data to work with my officers are at a loss.  There is nothing in the database that even remotely resembles the phenomenon we are faced with and no way to translate the data we're receiving into anything that we understand.

The crew is looking forward to our rendezvous with the USS Polaris and I must say, so am I.  It's been more then a little maddening to stare helplessly at the compiled data and have no idea what to do with it.  Perhaps a fresh perspective will help.

---

Star Trek: USS Polaris is a game set following the events of Voyager and Deep Space Nine.  Technology has advanced some and the interest in deep space travel has increased due to the explorations of the starship Voyager.  The USS Polaris is a small vessel specifically designed to analyze unknown phenomenon and explore new reaches of space.

Recently a strange anomaly appeared out of nowhere in the Beta quadrant.  The USS Vargas stumbled upon it and immediately began receiving a never ending stream of data.  They contacted Starfleet and were instructed to stay put and record all the data that they were receiving and work on deciphering it.  In the meantime Starfleet decided to send the USS Polaris on a course to intercept and contribute to the analysis of this strange phenomenon.

What they do not know is that soon the signal they are picking up will stop and the USS Polaris will truly go where no man has gone before - the Andromeda Galaxy.

This game is designed to be more realistic and gritty then your typical Star Trek show and truly reveal the hardship of being stranded with no hope of returning home.

I'm starting up a new game so here's the info if anyone is interested:

The Host is a game based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer and although having read the book is a plus it is not a prerequisite to joining the game.  The Background and Introduction threads should help you get an idea of the world that the story takes place in.

This is a freeform game with a HEAVY emphasis on writing and good storytelling.  I am looking for creative players who enjoy writing and are interested in telling a story with me, not just playing a game.

So please, check out the game and I look forward to hearing from you!

Haha, I hope your game goes well, but I can't take part in a game based off Stephanie Meyer's work. I honestly got halfway through The Host before returning it, because I felt, while the idea was interesting, the woman cannot write at any level above that of fan fiction. Her work lazy in some aspects, and sloppily contrived in others. Hell, most of the stuff here in Destiny is far superior to her work, the rest of it being simply better.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Also, gotta ask, what are the plans for this game? We gonna try and get some new blood for any suddenly open players? I'd love to see this game moving beyond a limp.

Re: OOC 2

Ya know, I absolutely cannot stand the Twilight series and so it took a long time for my future sister in law to convince me to read The Host but to get her to stop bugging me I finally did and I was surprised that I enjoyed it.  I do agree that her writing style is sometimes a bit cringe worthy but I really liked the concept and thought it would make for a fun game.

As to finding replacements I'm really hesitant.  Charlie's a really important character and I haven't met a player yet that I feel could do her justice.  K was awesome and we'd need a truly excellent player to fill her shoes.  Lei's the only other character up for grabs but she's also hard to replace 1) because most people don't want to play a kid, and 2) she has a lot of backstory that is very important to the entire arc of this game so new players have a lot to digest when they take her over.  So I think we'll just keep limping along until I find suitable replacements.

Well - C - we try to post but in my real life is still fairly overwhelming considering a normal work week for me is between 50 and 60 hours plus 7-8 hours of commute time over five hours a day. Plus they have got much more restrictive and tracking internet usage at work which also makes it harder to post there as well.

So I try to post as much as I can but I tend to have to do a lot around the house of the weekends and in the evening and as such RPOL is one of the things that can tend to suffer - if that is a reason to let me go - so be it - I do what I can and to be honest this is still a leisure activity and my real life responsibities will come before it.

That's my thoughts - thank you for listening.

And I agree C about Charlie, I'd rather hold out that miraculously K will reappear then find someone else to play her.  I'm fine with NPCing her for now.  Charlie's such an old character that I feel I have a least a decent grip on her character.

Hello all!  Well, I am back from the honeymoon, via a detour in Philadelphia where I got to meet up with C! (thank you again so much for letting us crash at your place, I had so much fun!)  After sleeping almost all day yesterday, due to the crazy time change differences I am trying to get back into the swing of things so over the next few days I'll hopefully start getting updates posted in all my games.

Europe was amazing and we had such a great time although I am grateful for the warmer weather in California, it was so cold over there!

Okay, so when you guys make it over here, C, I gave you a GM character ... mostly because looking at The Cast made my OCD hurt haha.

It looks like character wise two of us need to take on three characters and one takes on two.  So you guys can decide amongst yourselves.  I'm fine with taking on a third if you want, just tell me who :)

Re: OOC 2

Haha, I'll take that GM'ship. Once I get off work, I'll probably start looking at clearing out a lot of what we don't need (if you haven't already, T).

Now, as of right now, I have Connor, Kyoko, and Lei, so I've got my three.

T, I'm assuming you're taking Charlie and (obv) Kale.

M= Wei-Li, and that leaves Geoff, Rhaef, and Dake.

I'm also willing to pull double duty and take over Geoff or Rhaef. I have zero feel for writing Dake so I'd have to pass XD

Our present timeline is a bit screw-y honestly, if we want to fit in Fate and Destiny. Although, there is a LOT of cross over too, which works in our favor.

Crossover characters between Destiny and Fate and Destiny: Connor, Charlie, Lei

New characters to bring in: Alexandra Stone, Angel Bourdain.

Now, the way we had Connor working was that it was a year or two after he left Destiny that he reconnected with Alexandra and launched into the Black as a captain. We also had plans that Lei, in this time, had become more of a full blown bad ass.

I see this working one of two ways considering what we set up last summer, and the fact that Kale is currently waving Connor now XD

In one scenario (in my crazy mind), Kale has Kyoko, Dake, Geoff, Rhaef, and Wei-Li left on his crew, and is reaching out to Connor for help with a job. This would allow us to smoothly unite the two games but we would have to retcon Charlie's post most recent post in the Cargo Bay and allow for passage of time (or just put up one of those game wide posts explaining what happened XD). I hadn't intended to have Connor contact Kale again until Fate and Destiny had gotten well under way (ideally three or four episodes in). So, we'd have to adjust and go accordingly.

Second scenario will mean a lot of retconning for Fate and Destiny. That second scenario being that Kale called up Connor a few months after he left for help with a job.

The retconning here is in terms of timeline because Connor hadn't spoken to Charlie right until the start of the game (let's call it 1.5 - 2 years?) in which time, Destiny had flown her last mission at least with its crew in current condition, and Rhaef and Charlie tried to start a life together (which didn't work). We also have to account for Lei having that time to become a bad ass, which we'd have to rework, or rethink because the time isn't long enough for the Alliance to have nabbed her. We'd also have to rework Alexandra and Angel's stories too.

Personally, I'm a bigger fan of scenario one because it's cleaner and requires less retconning, but I'm down with whatever we decide to do.

Re: OOC 2

I was leaning towards actually taking our time getting to Fate and Destiny's storyline.  Cause in Destiny time right now, Connor just left about a month ago.  I figured he'd still be on Athens right now starting to realize that he can't live that life anymore.  I was almost thinking that Connor might even turn down helping Kale here because he's in the midst of his dark stage right now.  Then, of course, he goes to Persephone for a year the Destiny is still flying.

In that time we'd explore Lei's background some.  Because in Destiny episode 8 was them returning to Valon where they picked up Lei and breaking into the facility.  This is where I figured Lei would trigger the bad ass/loss of emotion.  And thus the downfall of Destiny's crew comes as part of this.  Then we would move on to everyone scattering and Connor taking up his crew.  I'd kind of like to play all the transition parts though cause I think they're interesting rather then do a time jump right off the bat.

So in my mind we continue episode 7 (here's the outline for it):

- Allie and Callie say they have job protecting a famous actor at this theater from what they believe will be an assassination attempt.  Gives the crew false identities so that they can get into the theatre on Santo.
- Turns out their false identities are of a famous performing troop from Paquin that are there for a special performance with this famous actor so they are going to have to go on stage.
- Deal was protect the actor, if an attempt happens they need to get him out of there.
- There is an attempt, they get him out of there.  Twins say they'll take it from there, turns our they set the whole thing up though as a ploy to kidnap the actor and get more money.
- Crew has to save the guy from the twins now.  He pays them in the end.

This sets up a funny episode where everyone is trying to pick up the pieces and be happy together again but its all a lie when they are put to the test once more in Episode 8 where they go to the facility.  They all realize they can't put a mask on the pain and rips in the fabric of their crew.  Geoff and Wei-Li take Lei somewhere on a remote planet to try and keep her safe and see if they can make her 'human' again.  Rhaef and Charlie go away together but as we know that doesn't last.  I'm assuming Dake stays with Kale.  And Kyoko probably just returns to the guild.

I dunno, thoughts?

I like it. I was really sad because I don't see Kyoko translating over too well once Destiny runs its course, but I was just getting to really go indepth with her.

Plus there was that whole Xander/Cordelia thing going on with Dake.

I also like the idea of being able to get into Lei's character. I also find it fascinating to explore what happens to her WITHOUT a Simon-type character to adjust medicine doses and try and reverse the damage.  I'm assuming episode 8 will end with Lei being taken again?

As far as our story arc for episode 7, I like it. Excited for it :D

Re: OOC 2

Cool.  I think that'll be the most fun cause then we get to actually bridge the two games which we haven't got to do yet :)

And there's always the possibility of pulling Kyoko on to Moirai at some point when we get there.

As to Episode 8 and what happens I know that M and I had plans for it at some point but I can't seem to find them anywhere.  So I just have the vague memory that they somehow end up back on Valon ... I think it was because Lei got taken.  So they go in to break her out.  And I know they were supposed to meet a scientist/doctor guy who ended up helping them.  I want to say I remember talking about the possibility that he was technically her "father".  Because the batch of kids that Lei was a part of was supposed to be different than River in that they were actually grown in the lab or something like that ... I seriously can't remember all my plans its been a while.  So we can flesh out new ones.  I'm totally fine with that.

Basically the end result just needs to be that in the end Lei has to be bad ass with no emotions.  Although now that I'm thinking about it ... C, I think we said that she developed the lack of emotions after Wei-Li and Geoff left with her.  Which is possible.  Either they think they saved her and everything is fine but they put her in hiding to keep her safe and during that time she becomes a remorseless killer (I do remember us saying something about her attacking them or something) or she becomes a remorseless killer but they can't leave her so they take her into hiding to try and help her but she eventually runs away or something.

All,

I do not know about Fate and Destiny but if its a game - I want in if you'll have me it sounds interesting.

If you truly serious about not having things work out between Charlie and Rhaef, which admittedly to me - makes me sad, but I can understand if you have a place to get to - there is a relatively easy answer to getting Lei to being a badass without emotion.

Rhaef is a Sith Yoda....(nerds everywhere cringe)

I mean who is the meanest, coldest person that Lei would have met - and conviently that person just happens to be a former cold, heartless, remorseless killer.

If Kale and Charlie are not around in his life, Rhaef slipping back to a drifter with a nasty attitude - even if working like a Punisher anti-hero type would entirely believable.

And if Lei came to him with the right story he'd train her, especially if it tied into some revenge he needed.
