Gefeliciteerd Giel!

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

The Ultimate Betrayer,

Prerequisites: charisma level of 16+, evil aligned, quick draw feat, Hidden blade feat (complete scoundrel), bluff 5 ranks.

Trust is futile and a Ultimate betrayer knows that for everyone has is own agenda and in the end chooses for his own self. In a world like this you either betray or get betrayed and the Ultimate betrayer wisely chooses the first. He is a good socialiser and a master in manipulation. He can easily earns someone’s trust and pretends to be a loyal companion and friend. That is until he draws his blade and stabs her in the back or offers a poisonous drink. It is even said that ultimate betrayers became landlords or kings by befriending with his predecessor who died just before he or she chanced his last will in favour of his “friend” or “lover.” The ultimate betrayer therefore lives a live of paranoia and intrigue. He is a skilled manipulator but always watches his back.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.
Hoi beste mensen.

The combat Smith

Most warriors fight only with their guts, for the honour of their beloved Lord or the taste of battle and slaughter. Some fight with use of tactics and ancient martial arts. Others prefer brutal head on tactics. The Combat Smith however fight with his weapons. Years of experience on the battlefield has given the Combat Smith a lot of knowledge on weapons and armour. Often more intelligent than his brethren, the combat smith retreats to solitude after the battle to study the fine arts of weapon- and armoursmithing. Other times a Combat Smith learns the art from a tutor or from years of adventuring. He hungers for knowledge and sees the crafting of an item as an art. He settles for no less than perfect and in times of danger he supports his fellows by enhancing their battle gear.

Abilities:  The combat smith is in fact a intelligent warrior. A high Intelligence score is needed for most of his special abilities and especially when he needs to make a craft check. He is still expected to fight in the front so a high strength, constitution and dexterity score are desirable. Charisma is not an issue for even a grumpy Hephaestus can make good quality armour and weapons. A Combat Smith who wants to earn a living as a blacksmith can add a few points in wisdom.

Alignment: any

Hit die: d8

Class skills
The combat smith’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are: appraise (int.), climb,(str.), concentration (con), craft(armoursmithing)(int.), craft (weaponsmithing) (int.), Disable device(int.), knowledge architecture and engineering (int.). jump (str.),  profession (blacksmith) (wis.), swim (str.)

Skill points at each level: 4+int

Requirement:
To qualify to become a combat smith, a character must fulfil all the following criteria.

Abilities: intelligence  score:14
Bab: +5

Feat: skill focus craft weapons or armour.
Skills: appraise (6 ranks)  craft weaponsmithing (8 ranks) and craft armoursmithing (8 ranks)

Special: The combat smith has to be proficient with a weapon or armour to use his special abilities on it. He must be in the possession of a hammer and masterwork artisans tools.

The eye of a craftsman (swift)

Combat preparations
Before battle begins the combat smith sharpens the weapons and adjusts the armour for more flexibility.

Benefit:
The armour smith can make slashing and piercing weapons sharper and more sustainable before the combat, which gives them a +1 circumstance bonus on attack rolls, with a maximum of the combat smith’s intelligence modifier, for the duration of an encounter. They do not become masterwork or magical however. This bonus increases by 1 every two combat smith levels thereafter. The Armour check penalty for Armour is decreased by 1, spell failure chance is decreases by 5% and max dex bonus increases by 1.  The max dex bonus increases by one every two combat smith levels thereafter.

Preparation time:
30 minutes per weapon (1hour for double weapons) 1 hour per armour.

Duration:
One encounter

Find the weak spot:
The combat smith has much knowledge of armour and so he knows its weak spots well. He may add his intelligence modifier to the damage roll against opponents who are wearing armour (natural armour not included).

The eye of a craftsman:
Through years of study, the combat smith had learned all the secrets of armour.

Benefit:
Studying a weapon or armour (standard action) gives all allies a +1 on attack rolls against the studied opponent.  At 5th level this becomes a move action and at 8th level the bonus becomes a +2. On 10th level the Armour Smith can use this skill as a swift action.

Quick crafter:
The combat smith excels in armour- and weaponsmithing. He needs less time than others to create weapons and armour.

Benefit:
When creating armour or weapons the combat smith needs less time to complete the item. When determining in what time a weapon is complete, the roll of the combat smith is treated one degree higher than it normally would. If the result x DC equals the price of an item, the combat smith has completed the item in one-half the normal time required. If the result x DC equals double the prize, the combat smith has finished the item in one-third the normal time.

Normal:
To determine how much time and money it takes to make an item, follow these steps.
1. Find the item’s price. Put the price in silver pieces (1 gp = 10 sp).
2. Find the DC from the table below.
3. Pay one-third of the item’s price for the cost of raw materials.
4. Make an appropriate Craft check representing one week’s work. If the check succeeds, multiply your check result by the DC. If the result × the DC equals the price of the item in sp, then you have completed the item. (If the result × the DC equals double or triple the price of the item in silver pieces, then you’ve completed the task in one-half or one-third of the time. Other multiples of the DC reduce the time in the same manner.) If the result × the DC doesn’t equal the price, then it represents the progress you’ve made this week. Record the result and make a new Craft check for the next week. Each week, you make more progress until your total reaches the price of the item in silver pieces.

If you fail a check by 4 or less, you make no progress this week.
If you fail by 5 or more, you ruin half the raw materials and have to pay half the original raw material cost again.
Progress by the Day
You can make checks by the day instead of by the week. In this case your progress (check result × DC) is in copper pieces instead of silver pieces.

Item Craft skill Craft DC
Armour or shield armoursmithing 10+AC
Crossbow weaponsmithing 15
Simple melee or thrown weapon weaponsmithing 12
Martial melee or thrown weapon weaponsmithing 15
Exotic melee or throw weapon weaponsmithing 18

Master conversion:

On 4th level the combat smith becomes so experienced in his work that he can reshape the quality of a weapon. For the duration of normal craft check the combat smith can reshape a normal weapon in to a masterwork weapon. On 6th level the combat smith can reshape the quality of armour and shields in to masterwork.

Keen converter.
On 9th level the combat smith can, when using the combat preparations on is own weapons, increase the weapons critical threat by one. This ability lasts for the duration of one encounter and does not stack with itself or other abilities witch increase the treat range of a weapon, such as the keen feat.

Duration: one encounter

Magical conversion

At 10th level the skill of combat smith excels even the unthinkable. He can reshape a normal weapon into a magical weapon. This ability functions just like the craft arms and armour feat (Players Handbook p. 92) except for the following rules:

The for the purpose of making the magic item the combat smith’s caster level is the same as ½ the level of the combat smith. The weapon must be made of, or converted in to, masterwork quality. Enhancing a weapon, suit of armour or shield takes only ½ a day for each 1,000 GP in the price of its magical features. To enhance weapon, suit of armour or shield you must spend only 1/30 of its features total price in XP.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Combat preparations
Herformulering:

The armour smith can make slashing and piercing weapons sharper and more sustainable before the combat. which gives them a +1 circumstance bonus per two levels on attack rolls, with a maximum of the combat smith’s intelligence modifier. This effect lasts for the duration of an encounter. They do not become masterwork or magical however. This bonus increases by 1 every two combat smith levels thereafter.

He can also prepare his armor for combat.
The Armor check penalty for Armor is decreased by 1, spell failure chance is decreases by 5% and maximum dexterity bonus increases by 1 per two levels, to a maximum of the armor smith's intelligence modifier.

Find the weak spot

The eye of a craftsman:

Ook de formulering nog wat verduidelijken. Wederom: gelijksoortige formuleringen opzoeken helpt.

Master Conversion

Magical conversion

Waarom niet gewoon heel z'n level of half z'n TOTALE level? Of zelfs z'n totale level sowieso?

Blijf commentaar geven!

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.
Ok beter laat dan nooit :)

Dagger Slinger

The dagger is probably the most common item an adventurer carrys with her. Its a very versatile object. The uses are endless. Most people
use it for slicing bread when on the road.  But in the hands of a master, the dagger becomes an object of deadly precision.
A Dagger Slinger sees her dagger as a part of her. And uses it with elegance when fighting an enemy.

Level  BAB  Fort Ref Will  Special
1st    +1    +0  +2   +0   Dagger Defense +1, Dagger Throw
2nd   +2    +0  +3   +0   Precision Strike +1d6
3rd    +3    +1  +3   +1   Dagger Defense +2
4th    +4    +1  +4   +1   Precision Strike +2d6
5th    +5    +1  +4   +1   Dagger Defense +3,Critical Dagger Throw

Requirements:
To qualify to become a Dagger Slinger, a character must fulfil all the following criteria.
Skills: Tumble 8 ranks, Sleight of Hand 8 ranks
Feats: Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus (Dagger), Point Blank Shot.

Class Skills
The Dagger Slinger class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Spot (Wis), Tumble (Dex).

Hit Die: d6

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Dagger Slingers gain no gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.
Dagger Defense: You know how to wield a dagger as a defensive weapon. Starting at 1st level, a Dagger Slinger gains +1
to armor class when wielding at least 1 dagger. And gains an extra +1 on 3rd and 5th level. And only when wearing no more than light armor. And/or carrying a light load.
Dagger Throw: When hitting an enemy with a thrown dagger you may add your Dexterity modifier to the damage result instead of your Strength modifier.
Precision Strike:  A Dagger Slinger knows how the living body works. She knows were the vital spots are, and inflicts extra 1d6 points of damage on all attacks she makes using a dagger. Damage applies only to attacks taken during the Dagger Slinger’s turn. And only applies against living creatures
that have a discernible anatomy. This extra damage increases by 1d6 at 4th level. Undead, constructs, oozes, plants, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to extra damage from critical hits are not vulnerable to this additional damage.
Critical Dagger Throw: At 5th level, a Dagger Slinger gains the Improved Critical feat when throwing a dagger.

Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 6 + Int modifier

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

In reply to Giel (msg #41):

Critical dagger throw.

Hij is wel mooi eenvoudig, vind ik. Paar schoonheidsfoutjes, kom ik later op terug. Welterusten.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.

Thanks.

Full BAB?

Re: [Contest] Prestige Class W.I.P.
He Jas, ik begrijp even iets niet.
