Lost in RPoL but very happy!
Hello all!

I'm brand new to RPoL. I have done the whole play-by-post for almost 16 or 17 years, not in English though. I am trying to expand my horizons a little more and I'm looking for some fun free-form games to play. I'm rather excited by this journey and I look forward to playing with you people! Stay safe! :)

You've come to the right place!  Your written English is excellent, with well-constructed grammar and good understanding of idiom.  My compliments!

RPoL is in transition to a new responsive site layout.  If you got here from https://rpol.net, then you are viewing the old site.  The URL https://r.rpol.net will get you to the responsive site.  Both still function, but eventually the responsive site will take over.

NOTE:  I am using the responsive site as I write, so links in the text will likely take you to places there instead of on the old site.

Here are some places on RPoL to check out:

1.)  Help and FAQs:  There are lots of features on RPoL.  That means there's something of a learning curve.  Help is available from any menu.  In the responsive site, the Help link is in the menu bar at upper left, as is the link to the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).

They both cover:
  • How to use the RPoL site
  • What policies and procedures are in effect (such things as Mature and Adult Content policies, etc.).
  • Technical features like how to build forms using HTML or Easy Tables, how to use the GM's features to manage a game, etc.
This information is worth your time.

On the old site, the Help and FAQ links are at upper right.

2.)  Community Chat:  This forum is open to most any topic within the Terms of Service, and is a great place to hang out, get to know folks, and make friends.

3.)  Wanted - Players:  This is an advertising board where Game Masters can let players know about games seeking players.  This board can be found here, and once you've visited it, it will show up in your main menu (Home).

4.  Wanted - GMs:  The "flip-side" of Wanted - Players, this board is for players to advertise for GMs to run a game they want to play.  Looking for that really strange game concept or system you've always wanted to try playing?  This is the place to find someone willing to run it for you.

5.)  Game Proposals, Input, and Advice:  This forum is for GMs seeking advice on game-related matters, and to post proposals for games they are thinking about running in order to check the level of interest.  Expressing interest in a game proposal is a great way to get a place in a game just starting up.

That ought to get you off to a good start.  I hope you have many entertaining adventures here!

Hiya! Welcome to Roleplay Online! Here you will find all the games to your heart's desires!  Whether itís system or creative freeform we got it.

A few tips for you are below:-

Make sure you turn on your rmail by going to the link at the top that is User preferences, there you will find some settings to play around with including the rmail one as that is how you and most GMs can talk.

On the main menu there are two forums you can find what you want to play in

Wanted: players
Wanted: GMs

At the bottom of the main menu you will also find search link to find games and other good stuff.

So all I can say now is

HAPPY GAMING!!
