Good Morning/Evening/Afternoon!
Hello everyone. I am presently writing this from my phone, so please pardon any errors that go unnoticed!
Im going by Draylen here, which is my pretty typical online handle. Ive been playing various games for about eighteen years now, and running games for twelve or so. I started, as I suspect many have, with D&D 3.5, but have branched out from there towards other games and systems in some limited capacity. I am familiar with more systems than Ive actually played, but I have at least some experience with 3x and 5e D&D (which includes pathfinder 1e, althouvh 2e seems distinct enough Im not including it); the Storyteller systems (classic and chronicles of Darkness - Ive also recently started Exalted, and have been eying Scion); Amber Diceless RPG; and FATE (including Dresden Files).
I have run a couple of longer running games, mostly live - play by post is going to be somewhat new to me. I am not particularly a good forumite, but I intend to at least attempt to make a more positive impression here. Depending on how things go, I have two games that, I think, I can make work fairly well here, for Exalted 3e and for the Chronicles of Darkness.
When playing games, I have something of a tendency to lean towards a more erudite scholar. Wizards are my favorite class in general, and places where I get to magibabble at people are... well, I try to make sure I stop before the other player's eyes glaze over. That is sometimes difficult.
Themes common to characters I play are an exploration of what it means to be a person. What that might happen to be is more complicated to pin quite down, of course, and flexes with what a character is and does. I could wish this was perhaps a bit less practical on a day to day basis, but that is life. Everyone is pretending until they arent.
I think thats sufficient for now. Probably overmuch, actually, but we can see how this goes. Uh. So. Its nice to meet you all!
