Good evening and ahoy! Been a while since i used regular forum boards, but i think i'm doing it right? Pretty sure i tried to use rpol before, but after checking out a couple of games and their quality of writing, chickened out, what with my layman english knowledge. But now i have returned, freshly awoken from my long and heavy torpor and ready to participate in the games of intrigue! Also, this particular style of roleplaying should be more fitting, as i'm not much of a talker and my decrepit haven is located in a bit of a whack timezone (relative to other english speaking countries, that is).

As far as systems go, i'm mostly familiar with VtM, followed closely by other oWOD titles. Mostly enjoy sci-fi, modern horror type settings, though don't really mind mixed fantasy worlds, like numerian stuff from pathfinder or planescape.

Gonna pock around, see if there any newbie-friendly games around (as i haven't had any particular experience roleplaying, just reading books), maybe even psych myself up to try storytelling for the first time (brrr). Saw the chat tab, so might cautiously stick my head in there, even though it is discord (bleh).

Anyways, it's nice to see a place like this not just surviving but seemingly thriving, so i hope to find a place to fit in as well. Thanks for reading and good evening!

Howdy...First of all, welcome to the Best site out there. Everything  you ned  is  , normally on the page you are on..if you play in a game , access to CS, dice  rollers, PMs  ect ect  is  all there.

Customizable  search  engine  at the bottom right of the home page, lets  you browse  for games  using  Genre,systems  ect ect..you are able to filter the results  with  # of posts, 'last post' and  alphabetized

  Check 'players  wanted" to see who is looking for games

 Post   or read  GM's wanted to see who is thinking about a game.

 I am assuming your lead it was tongue in cheek...Yes..there are GMs  with sticks in the wrong place, and worry about your 'english' and where you  put what punctuation..Most folks here  run games, 90% of the  dialogue  will be some  form of street speech, so? don't sweat it... I have some friends here who will openly joke at my postings, because they know i won't be offended, nor will i care. Bottom line, None of us are getting paid to be here, none of us are getting graded!..Have  fun!

Actually wasn't. I do remember reading through game thread and being a bit overwhelmed at how neat and eloquent everyone's writing was and thinking to myself - can i match this level of writing? I'm a bit more confident now, so hopefully i'll do fine. Or my best will be enough, at least.

But yeah, for folks not familiar with VtM (Vampire the Masquerade), young vamps usually refer to the older ones as Elders. That's the title. :3

I have had  players...and Played in games  with some, who wrote very well, and  added to interactions....I have had others  who were 'overly' set on  how they  write, rather then how they play.

 for me. I like those  who put some time in, but they don't have to be manuscripts...a few good lines..More it it   fits? The main thing is  for the game flow  and  the interaction, not  getting a call from the academy  !

If your new to a game system, most of the time it isnt a problem just let the GM know.  Usually games are slow so you have time.

Dont be frustrated that games seem to start and fold, it happens, just move on to a different game.

 way back Oct 2005  when i got here..i was determined  not to GM... I joined games...Gme s folded, Players  would  ghost, GMs  would  ghost..some GMs were authoritarian in the  EXACT what to post  ect ect...anal rules... Rules lawyers  ect ecte ct,

 Still  Games  died, no matter  how fast they seem to get traction.

 I was in a  freeform   Starship troopers..( it was wayyyyy too freeform  for me) but there were great players in..it didn't even make 500 posts  before the GM got distracted  by shipmonks or somehting.

 so?  I started  my games... I us e my own system, and My own world and have been doing it since 2010...all three  games are still running, though one game had a  couple over hauls.

anyway...the reason i says  this Xeriph  has it   right. some people like to create  games, then just walk away..I had those great players  and  brought them to my space game..13+ years later. I still have one of the Charter members in the game.

Rule  1... as a Player, Play the  gme as you want, find  a game that fits you

rule 2,, as a GM  run the game how you would  want it run for you.

Howdy and welcome.  I reckon Donser meant if you can’t find a game on here you’re not trying.  Especially if you use the WANTED; GMs!

If you are looking for adult games you have to wait 3 week.  We all have.  Some don’t dos are in the rules but just a tip.  Don’t make a second site email.  You will be banned from ALL games and the site.

You can join games and do NOT have to have an email for every game.  Once accepted into a game you can Make/Play as many characters as the GM permits.  Just don’t make more than the one site login.
