The Sprawl Delve #3

As you prepare to depart, you must make a few decisions. Will you be bringing any of the motorbikes? Or the cart? Or the pickup truck you left behind last time? And what is your objective? Time to cross the river? Bear in mind that, with you map, you can only drive freely in the Suburbs.

Thunderbird having joined the group defers to the others in order to understand the plans. "I am always up for looking at locations where there is a chance of picking up advanced technology." he says patting his laser while giving his input

Z studied area around it, "We are missing vital data required to compute next best course of action. However, we do agree with consensus of a Avian creature that retrieval and eventual accumulation of new technology would be beneficial for group's economical status".

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

She had looked over the map in a green display of vines and branches that closely resembled a human body before looking again at the group once more. "Perhaps we could go see these people who sell parts at that store mentioned on the map?."

She wanted to continue to use the motorcycle that she had found useful with its speed and maneuverability. She just shrugged when any mention of the truck was brought up.

"The Restorationists, Rose?" Bedlam considers the options. "I like the idea. Probably wouldn't hurt to make some contacts there. They'll know more about what's near the river and the industrial zone."

"Before we settle," the giant studies the crew. "I just want to throw out two other considerations."

"One. The Porkers are hurt, but they're not completely gone. Do we wanna go see if they have more swag than they can hang onto?" he grins.

"Two. The Gren are gonna need help with the Badders. They're all about plants and such, which means they have access to good food. Do we wanna help them? Do we approach them first, or just smack Badders and let our actions speak for themselves?"

"Good food is good, Crinkles does not like scavenging for bad food. Help them with plants, maybe Rose can help them?" Crinkles says.

" well the badders are well armed and would be a tough enemy to defeat. Where as the porkers, as you said are hurting this a better target to go after"

Ophelia looked at the team and smiled " thus we have to ask ourselves what would be of more value, porker salvage or a share of the Gren food as payment. For me the food has a higher value but come with the greater risk.... I've always liked a challenge though"

Thunderbird scratches his chin in thought. "Hurting or finishing off the Porkers is an option but then who will fill in the void once they are gone?" he asks. "If we do, will our actions hurt the status quo here in Compton?"

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

Bedlam nods his head as he tries to follow the discussion.

"Badders are most likely to expand with the Porker loss. But it sounds like they work in smaller, independent groups - not all centralized like the Porkers. So we deal with them when we cross paths."

"And I'm not interested in making nice with the Badders," the giant rumbles. "I'll play by the rules on neutral ground, but out in the Sprawl I'm inclined to thump first and ask questions later."

"That said, let's go meet the Restorationists. It should give us a relatively safe site outside of Compton. Someplace we can unload our swag without having to run the Dabber gauntlet."

"Now. About the bikes...," he looks at Rose. "Even with your adjustments, those things are big noise. It'll keep some trouble away, but I'm afraid it'll attract even more. That means the scouts have to work even further out, making response times longer. What do you think about leaving them here in Compton?"

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

If a plant could frown then she was frowning at the idea of leaving her new toy behind. Still she could find something good out there yet. She strokes the motorcycle over the gas tank and nods once to bedlam. Before looking at him harshly, "this time"

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

There are no safe water routes to the South River marked on the map. Also,  you don't remember encountering any waterways in the Sprawl to date. They may exist in the sewers, but are probably fairly dangerous badder-wise.

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

"All right," Bedlam rubs his hands together, obviously pleased. "We're almost ready. Not that I don't enjoy having a soft bed, but it's time to go find some new swag."

"Speaking of which," the giant ponders the horse-less wagon. "Should we get something, a horse or stagon, to pull the wagon? Or should we get a pushcart or some wheelbarrows to haul our kit and loot?"

"Personally, when it comes to draft animals, I'd rather avoid fireproof possums..."

Re: The Sprawl Delve #3

Z cocks its head, "After quick calculation and cross referencing our data banks, we believe that our creators provided us with ability to transform into a watercraft. Approximate calculation shows that we shall be able to withstand weight of two tons. We do not believe that we can be transformed into land vehicle with ability of pulling a cart. We do believe that if animal is acquired it should be self sufficient. Grooming and foraging for the creature may impede our progress".
