Because of my avarage maneuverability I can't move very much while in the air: turning cost movement etc, so not to get roasted I've had to climb.

Gawain watches in horror as Quinlan is struck, and falls like a rock his wings no longer beating. Then he grins slightly as the body is about to strike the walkway but suddenly stops, and gently, gently touches the ground.
Not wasting more time, Gawain rushes forward, and uses one of the precious charges of his magical anklets to cover the last few feets. Touching Quinlan he discharges some of the magic stored in his belt to heal some of the wounds.

It's not over yet Quinlan, get up! he urges the bardic fellow, knowing the duskblade to soon be over them again with his spells and his sword.

Since Quinlan was no longer a target Orophear decided to focus his ire on the knight, firing off two firey rays, the first striking true and the second just going wide. After the spell launches the elf decided to try the portal once again and stepped in appearing close to his starting position.

Gawain takes the first hit but manages to dodge the second ray. Still it burns. Running across the walkways toward the central area Gawain once more activates the magic in the wand and hurls the large blade through the air. The weapon strikes Orophear with terrible force and burst into flames at the point of impact.

Quinlan moves upward once more, not wanting to let his partner risk more than necessary and to have Orophear needing to choose between targets. Flying just above the walkway the half-drow manages to get into the shadowy area from where he fires an arrow. This time the shot is well aimed, and strikes the duskblade in the chest, sending sparks flying and the dragonfire ignites.

You too! This was a very close match: I got a few lucky rolls, and you got a few not so lucky ones. At least my strategy to stay away from Orophear in close range payed off. I think you'll all enjoy Gawain a lot more in game no? Getting +3 to hit /damage isn't bad, and 3d6 fire damage is sort of icing on the cake.

Yeah, that Spinning Blade spell is pretty awesome. I need to get a wand like that for Orophear. imagine him charging his weapon with Shocking Grasp and throwing across a battle field hitting all in it's path!

You'll need to quick cast the touch spell since activating the wand is a standard action.

As far as I know he can cast a spell into his sword and it lasts as long as the duration of the spell or discharged.

Sure, I meant in the same action. You should note that Whirling blade allows an attack to ALL enemies in a 60' line, but AFAIK the stored spell will discharge on the first target.

For now, yes. But at a certain level I will be able to discharge the spell in all attacks during a full round attack, which should essentially be the same as hitting multiple right?

My next level, I'm torn between a spell that gives temp hitpoints based on level, a counterspell that restores a level 1-3 spell when successful, or shadow evocation.

Gawain succeeding that will save was nice. Me failing that 50% evade was really bad.

I learned a lesson here. Never let the archer choose the arena.

Yeah, that was quite the hit, although had you flickered Quinlan would go next and take you out (dive attack deals double damage on an aerial charge).
