Re: Team Nova vs Team Rockstar: Re-match

Levis picked this arena to be fair, but she was still worried. Her spells couldn't be used at their full range, and she didn't like the thought of turning a corner and running into the Knight on her own. She went about her preparations and hoped for the best.

Prep Round 1
[Standard] Cast Steel Shadows. +3 AC (armour bonus), +3 AC shield bonus.

Status:
 Initiative 15
 AC: 15(9)

Effects: Steel Shadows (+6 AC)

Prep Round 2
[Standard] Cast Caul of Shadows +2 AC (deflection)

Status:
 Initiative: 15
 AC: 15(9)

Effects: Steel Shadows (+6 AC), Shadowskin (DR10/magic) (1 round).

OOC: Sorry for the delay. A couple of questions, and depending on the answers I may need to edit my prep rounds.
1: Does it require a move action to pass and item?
2: Can Levis use the wand of Cat's Grace?

Orophear went about preparing for the match silently. Just before the gong rings the elf says, "Stick close for a moment if possible."

Prep Round 1:
  [Move] Draw Wand
[Standard] Cast Cat's Grace from wand
  [Free] drop wand

Prep Round 2:

Gawain launches himself forward in a frantic rush across the arena, almost flying over the altar before bearing down on Levis. OOC: Yikes! Remind me to NEVER meet Gawain in open combat!

Orophear's eyes went wide as the knight burst across the arena, his flaming sword cutting his companion clean in half. The elf managed to move just enough to not follow Levis into the afterlife but still took a might hit himself. With a growl of pain the elf channeled a bit of arcane energy into his sword, the fmiliar drain from his own life force moving along the blade to turn it a bright blood red followed closely by the crackling of lightning. With a sideways chop the blade cut into the knight and discharged all of it's magical energies into the man along the gash.

Round 1:
[Swift] Cast Blade of Blood: sacrifice 5 hit points for an extra 2d6 damage
[Standard] Arcane Channel: Cast Shocking Grasp into sword, Attack: 30, Damage: 44 (13 longsword + 12 BoB + 19 shocking grasp)

Bull's Strength: +4 to Str, Duration: 8 minutes

A shaken character takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.

OOC: I post this here for reference. You are shaken for one minute.

quote:
Shaken
A shaken character takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.

Shaken is a less severe state of fear than frightened or panicked.

IC: Shaking from the violent electric shock, and feeling weak from the pain and blood loss, Gawain makes a tactical retreat. Teleporting a short distance away before running behind cover and healing himself with a spell.

Round 2:

OOC: Come on dicebot, COME ON!!! I can NOT make a F#$@%^$ing save in the arena!!!

"By the gods!" Orophear said as he saw the glittering golden dust and his vision suddenly washed out. Knowing that once again this was the end of yet another match with these two the elf reached into down on his belt and removed a potion and drank it, the large wound closing and the bleeding stopped.
"Come on then! Come get me while I am helpless!" the elf growled, his stance still even and his sword at the ready.

When I gain a level.. I'll have enough hitpoints to survive..
Bolster gives 5 temp HP based on character level (max 75). so that's 35 additional hitpoints at level 7. On top of that, I can cast it on allies.

Though honestly, I'll likely end up taking it at level 8, because I'm not building for pvp. XD

Good match.. I guess?

Re: Team Nova vs Team Rockstar: Re-match

I'm surprised you didn't go for the enclosed labyrinth map in the end: it would likely had taken forever to finish, but at least Levis would have lasted a few rounds.

I'll set it up, when I have time (not today, and not tomorrow for sure).

In reply to Gawain Silvershield (msg # 42):

This ended completely because a bad choice. I never use Power Attack and decided to try it this time. If I had just straight rolled Orophear would have hit. C'est la vie.

Re: Team Nova vs Team Rockstar: Re-match

My apologizes for coming off as a sore loser yesterday. For some reason I was in a particularly foul mood and it transferred to here. My bad. Good fight, both of them.

No worries: you rolled a string of lousy dice rolls, while I got to roll absolutely stellar ones. I understand the frustration.
