RPOL Rubb Code 101

Lesson One - Adding Images to Posts.

<center><table>
<tr><td><img src="?????"></td><td>?????</td></tr>
</table></center>

First you have to find the image you want to use on Google or somewhere else on the net. Google is a good resource though, because of there Image search tool. Type in what you are looking for, an example could be "Ruined Building" and then hit search. Find the building which you like and click on it, while still in google. This will bring up a framed window with the small Image at the top and the webpage where the image is located at the bottom. Click on the image at the top again to bring up a full sized image of your subject. Them right click on the image and Copy Image Location, which firefox it is easier. With Internet Explorer you have to go up to the top and copy the URL to where the image is located at.

Once you have the URL you need to plug it into the first ????? area above. This is link the picture to the post. Next if you want to have a side by side description of the image the second area ????? is for you to describe the scene.

OR

If you would like to loose the tabled entirely you can go ahead and just use the script that Vampir here proposed. It looses the tables and just aligned the image to the far right. And allows for text to show aligned left.

Re: RPOL Rubb Code 101

why don't you just place it with align?

Re: RPOL Rubb Code 101

That's an option too, but I was keeping it rather simple for the masses. Unfortunately some of our users are not as computer savvy as the rest of us, and using the align tag adds a little more code in the script. For those wishing to use align its an option that is available.

Re: RPOL Rubb Code 101

Some of the Align tags do not work.

link to a message in another game

This thread explains that. The tag that you posted above does not work. I attempted to use it in another game a second ago, and nothing. Strange. I knew that some of the Align tags worked, but not all of them.

Re: RPOL Rubb Code 101

Edited the first post with the right Aligned suggestion. Good catch.

ahem

This doesn't appear to be related to the WoD.

RPoL has a Beginner's Forum for stuff like this. Also FAQs and Help files (upper right corner of header). You could also try requesting (via rMail or at the beta site) that the mods add this info and/or clarify what's already there, if what's there isn't adequate.

Re: ahem

In a strange turn of events it is related, but I understand where your coming from on it, so its cool. I have been asked many times how I do the images, tables, icons, etc in the many games that I run, and mostly it is by the World of Darkness players which frequent the majority of my games. Instead of just responding to each and every one of them which asks me how I do this, or that. I thought it would be good to just put it here for the other Storytellers to use.

But Nerwen is correct all this information can be found out in the Help button at the top, although sometimes they do not speak in terms some can understand. I guess though that this is the wrong venue for such a topic. So Go ahead and delete the topic Nerwen.
