Weapons

Due to the fact that for those who are starting out with a goodguy I do not permit guns, but permit other weapons, I need to specify what kinds of weapons are allowed lest someone go and say, "You said no guns, but you didn't say no grenades!"

First I'll define a goodguy and a badguy since some people like to exploit loopholes.

Goodguy: Someone who either fights against Robotnik and/or supports those who fight against Robotnik. There's a limit, of course. If you are particularly nasty and threaten to kill people on a regular basis, you will soon be labeled a badguy. In which case, you will be hunted down and possibley even killed.

Badguy: Someone who fights against Robotnik's enemies (Pretty much any freedom fighter). Wether he is for Robotnik or not. But let's face it: even as stupid as it is to trust Robotnik, your best bet as a badguy is to join forces with Robotnik or else get crushed from both ends.

Neutral: Someone who doesn't have a preference for or against the whole Robotnik tyranny thing. Someone who doesn't have a preference for or against the whole freedom fighter thing. Someone who, quite frankly, only cares about one thing: His or her self. Of course, you can have a neutral who cares about a loved one, but the point is that neutrals do not believe in causes like Robotnik or the Freedom Fighters. It could be motivated by fear, disconcern, or even strict personal rules. Or maybe both Robotnik and Freedom Fighter alike have done unspeakable things to this character. But in any case, be careful since there is a very fine line between Neutral and Badguy.

Goodguy-Permissable Weapons:

Guns:
Not available at the start, but join us in roleplay and maybe you will get a hold of one.

Blunt weapons:
Baseball bats, rods, staves, SWAT-BOT leg, Toilet seat, you name it. If it's a blunt object and your character can pick it up, anything is game. Just keep in mind, I only allow so much strength, so no trees for weapons, OK?

Bladed weapons:
I'm allowing any bladed weapon, so long as the sharp metal is the only dangerous thing about it. No techno-blades that double as flamethrowers or anything. You can have a sword that tells you what time of day it is if you like, but please think with common sense when deciding on what kind of blade you want. I know how obsessed 90% of the population is with swords, so it'd be kinda silly to not allow them at all. But please give a convincing reason in your app as to why and how you got a sword.

Darts are not bladed, but you may have them. You are even allowed poison darts, but use them once on a goodguy and you will be branded a badguy from then on. Also, they can not be deadly poisons.

Mechanical weapons:
Some weapons are more complicated than a bat or a sword. For example, a crossbow. I allow those. Grappling hooks, while technically not weapons can be used as such, and I allow those also. But as indicated above in the bladed weapons, I do not allow weapons like flame-throwers. You are allowed to have a matchbox or a lighter, but don't think you are a firebat from Starcraft. Just use the crossbow or grappling hook as your guide. As a side note, think on how you replace your ammunition if you have a bow of any kind.

Miscillanious:
As hinted when I mentioned darts, you may be a chemist and know your poisons. You can also know how to create smoke-bombs and other batman-ish ninja tools. You are allowed a personal computer (Yes, it can be used as a weapon besides being a blunt object. Use your imagination), but know that I'll be picky and restrictive about this. In other words, if you want your computer to have hacking abilities and you want your character to know how to use that to hack Robotnik's computers, you will basically have to be a hacker with the exclusion of all other skills.

Badguy-only Weapons:

Of course, badguys get anything the goodguys get, but why would a badguy want to carry a wooden bat when even Swatbots wield something far better, namely lasers.

Guns:
All kinds, as long as they can be carried on person and are within the realms of reason. For example, if Robotnik built a hand-held gun that could vaporise the great forest with one blast, he wouldn't give it to some robot lacky. He'd use it himself. Besides... he COULDN'T build such a gun or he would have. If you want laserguns, you must be a robot made by Robotnik.

Bladed weapons:
Same as goodguys, but with a twist. You CAN have technological swords, knives, daggers, etc if you are a badguy. But in this case, I strongly prefer you are a robot.

Gas weapons:
Tear gas, poison gas, you name it. Your evil character may have any kind of gas weapon they want, as long as it's reasonable.

Weapons for the Neutral:

Depending on your origin, just about any TYPE of weapon is available to you if you are a neutral character. I will not allow just anything. However, guns an possibley even laser guns may be available.

Please be careful when considering the weapon of choice for your neutral character as I will be watching closely for over-powered characters or characters trying to pass themselves off as neutral when they really are not.

Forbidden Weapons:

Nanotech:
Sorry but only Robotnik himself may use this. Do not ask for it.

One last thing:

Keep in mind that while these things are all available, you can't have everything at once. If you want to be a jack of all trades, think carefully on that.

Also note these weapons are for starters. As roleplay continues, you may be able to upgrade. And in some cases, if you are good enough, you might even be able to aquire a gun as a goodguy! Though this usually means looting it from a badguy and that keeping the thing loaded and such will be a pain. So while making your goodguy character proficient in the use of guns would be beneficial when you finally GET one, I would still highly reccommend you apply for another weapon skill if any.

If you have any questions, post it on this thread.
